Multi track adio possible in media encoder, Premier or AE?

Putting together a sequence of videos for a client I created in After Effects.
i've rendered the video, and normally I would use either premier, or After Effects (default choice sicne that's what I normally work in) to add a soundtrack after a final video render
What I've been doing is making one long video that repeats, but uses different audio tracks each time. But it dawned on me there must be a way to render this with multi-track so, as you get when watching a movie, the chance to choose the audio track.
I can't find anything on this and I'm not sure why.
is this just not possible?

If you follow the instructions in the link you can obtain Encore.

    Hello everybody,
I am missing my preview possibility in media encoder. it only flashes once, then it disappears.
    Does anybody know this problem.
It worked until some weeks ago.
    Thanks in advance!

  • When or is it possible that Media Encoder and Encore will get GTX 680 CUDA support?

...and will it really make a difference?
Ive got the Creative Cloud deal, so my software is up to date (CS6) as of 8/16/12, and after installing my new GTX 680 4GB card and enabling it in Premiere and After Effects, I see a nice performance gain over my older GTX 550 ti 1.5GB.
When I drop a finished H.264 Blu-ray file into a sequence and export it from Premiere into AME, my graphics card shows about 40-60% regular usage throughout the encoding, no matter what format I am exporting to. But if I just drop the same original H.264 file into AME and set it to the exact same encode output preset, then the graphics card is not used at all.
Also, when you run GPUSniffer in the Encore program folder, you can see that it will not accept this card for GPU utilization. Ive looked all around for the Encore list of cards database it is pulling from, and Ive concluded that it must be in a compiled DLL file, so unlike Premiere, you cant modify it to detect the GPU. AME does not have either the list of supported cards or the GPUSniffer program in its program folder, so both of these programs will need the GTX 680 added to its list of supported cards by Adobe directly with an update, like they did with After Effects CS6.
I can only imagine that transcoding in either programs would benefit from CUDA accelleration, like a few other transcoding apps out there already use.
If Adobe is listening, the #1 thing I (all of us?) want in CS6 is for all transcoding products (Premiere direct export & projects, After Effects, Media Encoder direct file import, Encore) to utilize GTX 670 680 and 690 cards for accelleration out of the box. I dont want to use some 3rd party transcoder to get GPU aided transcoding, I want my CS6 Master Collection to be able to do it. Not too much to ask right?

Hi, I have written a 'proof-of-concept' (i.e. unsupported beta) NVidia H264-encoder plugin for Adobe Premeire Pro CS6. If you are interested in trying it, go the following forum-post:http://forums.adobe.com/message/5458381
    Couple of notes:
    (0) GPU requirement: NVidia "Kepler" GPU or later (desktop GTX650 or higher, laptop GT650M or higher.)  The plugin uses the new dedicated hardware-encoder (NVENC) introduced with the 2012 Kepler GPU.
    (1) the "ideal" best-case speedup (over Mainconcept H264) is roughly 4-5x on a consumer desktop PC (single-socket PC, Intel i5-3570K).  Naturally actual results vary on the source-video/render.
    (2) Interlaced video encoding is NOT supported.  (I couldn't get this to work; I think it's a GPU-driver issue.)
    (3) Only uncompressed PCM-audio is supported (no AAC/AC-3 audio.) Also, multiplexing is limited to MPEG-2 TS.  If you want to generate *.MP4 files, you'll need to do your own offline postprocessing outside of Adobe.
    (4) In terms of picture-quality (artifacts, compression efficiency), NVidia hardware (GPU) encoding is still inferior to software-only solutions (such as Mainconcept or x264.)
In short, don't expect the NVENC-plugin to replace software-encoding any time soon.  It's not a production-quality product.  And even if it were, software-encoding still has a place in a real workflow;  until consumer hardware-GPU encoding can match the video-quality of the Mainconcept encoder, you'll still be using Mainconcept to do your final production video renders.
cuda is meant for general computing including encoding.
if you performe h246 encoding using cuda on gtx680 it can be done 1 minutes for a video that takes 90 minutes on i7 cpu.
At that speed, the output of the hardware-encoder would be so poor, the video may as well be disposable.  NVENC is NOT faster than Intel Quicksync; actually Quicksync can be substantially faster.  But NVENC (currently) holds the slight edge in compression-quality.
Off on a tangent, CUDA in MPE acceleration offers both speed-advantage and quality-advantage, because the CUDA video-frame processing is highly parallelizable, and can exploit the GPU's numerous floating-point computational-arrays to speed-up processing and do more complex processing.  That's a double-win.  So what does this have to do with encoding?  Right now, hardware video-encoding (which comes after the video-rendering step) only offers improved speed.  My experience with NVENC has shown me it does not improved video-quality.  At best, it is comparable to good (and slower) software-encoding when allowed high video-bitrates.  At lower video-bitrates (such as Youtube streaming), software-encoding is still A LOT better.

  • Dropped frames while using multi bit rates in Flash Media Encoder 3

I’m using the Adobe Flash Media Encoder 3 to stream live video to a host computer at 200 Kbps.  At the same time, I’m saving a copy to my hard drive at 350 Kbps. The live stream signal seems to be ok.  The saved stream has dropped frames.  Total bandwidth is about 615 Kbps.  I’ve looked at performance marking software to see if my hard drive is slow and to check my CPU speed. I can’t see what I need to save a better copy and still keep the live stream.
Is this just a need for more CPU speed?
The encoder is on a Dell Optiplex 360 Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 @2.53GHz with 3GB RAM.  The hard drive is a 152GB IDE ST3160815AS.  It has write caching enabled on the disk.

I saw your request for the log file in a different post.  This is one of them that was made from my encoding.  I don't see any answers in it.

  • Serious error when Exporting to Media Encoder Premier Pro CS4

Hi I have a 64 bit HP7900 16 GB memory and Vista Home premium edition
I have taken the automatic upgrades and it has completely screwed over my Premier Pro CS4 making it unusable.
I decided to co back to version 4 and installed everything again.
Now I cant export to Media Encodet.
All my driver are up to date and I am using scratch disks.
    Error message enclose.
My business is now shout down can anyone please urgently help me
    Thanks
    Nick

A number of people have been bitten by an update bug. When updating to 4.1 some have been reverted to trial status, losing all MPEG capabilities. Mostly this is caused by having had a trial version earlier or a faulty installation to start with. The only workable solution is to completely uninstall, run the Clean Script utility 2 or 3 times, reinstall and then reapply the updates. Cumbersome and time consuming, but the only solution.
Look in the Adobe KB for info on the Clean Script CS4 utility.

  • How to make a dvd with audio track after exporting using media encoder? I have 2 seperate files??

    Hello,
I need to just burn a video I finished. It's a m2v file and so I have a AC3 audio tack and a video track. I thought I was good to go, but I cannot figure out how to burn the audio and the video to the same disk! This is very annoying as the settings I have to use for export to keep video quality will give me 2 seperate files.
So, what programs do you use or recommend that allow me to add an audio track? I don't want people to have the option of switching between tracks I just want a normal track like you have when watching a movie, I mean it just plays by default.
    Thanks in adv.
    Mark

The caveats that I would issue to others are:
1.) muxed Assets often work fine, but can cause problems. Properly spec'ed. elemental streams seem to never cause problems.
2.) Encore will allow one to populate a Timeline with multiple Assets. However, it can get very confused in some cases. One is where an Audio Clip is just an Audio Unit, or two, too long, and one has a tiny gap, between their Videos. Using one Timeline per Sequence will always work, so long as the Assets are properly spec'ed.
I'm not saying that either of these WILL cause problems. Many do similar with zero issues. However, there is the potential for problems. Just use with care.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Is the Random Media Encoder CC Mute Problems Fixed?

There is a thread about Mute/Solo but here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5592142#5592142
However it has been quite some time since Adobe staff has responded to that thread, so I thought I'd create a new thread to see if it is fixed. Right now I'm wasting alot of time with Premiere Pro CC / Adobe Media Encoder CC as this combination will produce encodes with randomly muted audio tracks, effectively making Adobe Media Encoder unusable. Because I and other CC users rely on Media encoder for their batch export workflow, I'm wondering if Adobe has addressed the problem in the newest release Premiere Pro CS 7.0.1 (105) or not. Please respond so I can use Adobe Media encoder again!
    Thank you.

This is causing massive headaches for me, and has wasted me days of work. I have a 12 language, 21 sequence DVD project, with all the languages on one timeline. Initially I used mute and solo to export the various language versions. But, due to whatever bug is going on, only around a third of the audio clips exported properly. Many muted or kept the wrong audio tracks, others muted them all.
So then I had to create 152 sequences from my original sequences, one for each language for the 21 different clips, then going through and deleting all but one lanuage for each (not ideal if there are any changes in timings to the original sequences). I then exported these as dolby digital audio for DVD. No success - only one of the languages exported. The rest just had the music track. So then, I tried exporting AAC audio. Two of them worked, the rest didn't. It seems totally random when exporting from media encoder which tracks actually appear in the final file. Some are muted, some aren't. And it is even different depending on what file format is being exported.
It seems I'm going to have to export, one-by-one, the audio clips from Premiere. 152 times. I don't want to have to, but if Media Encoder can't do the job it's suppoed to do, then as far as I can tell, that's the only alternative. Not happy at all. My CTRL-E fingers are going to get tired.
Can any Adobe staff tell us whether these bugs are going to be fixed at any point?

  • Premier Pro CC and Media Encoder crashing on long file export.

Please forgive the length of this inquiry. But it is complicated and has a lot of variables.
I have an hour long mixed format timeline both Red 3K footage and Black Magic ProRes 1080P footage that I want to make a DVD from and it takes forever and crashes half way through. I have tried doing it every way possible and the only way I was able to get even a partial export was using the "MPEG 2 DVD" export option in Premier CC. It goes fast at first telling me it will take about 2 hours but even though it starts quickly doing about 15 fps it slows down to less than 1 fps and finally just stops and crashes my Cuda Core enabled Macbook Pro Laptop.
I really don't know who to ask about this since there are so many different variables. I never had a problem like this on my MBP with PP6 on a 4K timeline exporting to DVD or Blue Ray or to H-264 or Even Prores. But I wasn't mixing formats either. But on this project the first 20-30 minutes of footage goes through fine in a couple of hours but something seems to be bogging down the system on longer projects. My work around was to break the project up into multiple exports and combining them on the DVD timeline but I can't do this on every project. I thought maybe it was a corrupted clip somewhere in the timeline but when I broke the timeline up into several parts I had no problems.
I did notice a dramatic variance in the time it took to export footage based on the sequence settings. A one minute timeline comprised Red 3K footage and ProRes 1080P footage Here are some sample export results:
From a Red raw 3K timeline 2880x1620  with 1080P Prores footage upscaled 150%)
    to .m2v Mpeg 2 720x480 format    1:48 Minutes ***
    to .mov  Prores 422HQ  1080P                         22 Minutes
    to .mov H.264  1080P                    22 Minutes
    to .m2v Mpeg 2 1080P                                                22 Minutes
From a 1080P timeline Prores footage at 100%  (Red footage downscaled to 67%)
    to .m2v Mpeg 2 720x480 format                         13 Minutes
    to .mov  Prores 422HQ 1080P                             13 Minutes
    to .mov H.264  1080P                                                             14 Minutes
    to .m2v Mpeg 2 1080P                                                            14 Minutes
Since I am going to DVD,  I chose the fastest option  Red to m2v Mpeg 2 720x480 format which only took 1:48 per minute. Why? I have no idea. Maybe someone here knows the answer. But again these numbers are for a ONE MINUTE clip when I tried to convert the whole hour timeline to  the 720x480.m2v DVD File the Red timeline froze my computer after several hours even though I had set sleep mode to “Never” and turned the display off manually and I had to convert it in multiple chunks. In 20-30 minute chunks it did go fast about 1:48 per minute like the test indicated. But I would like to be able to convert the whole hour and not to have to try to stitch the clips together in my DVD authoring program.
I don’t want to have to avoid using multiple formats on the same timeline or waste time transcoding everything to the same format.
Can anyone give me any suggestions as to why the computer is crashing or bogging down in long exports and what timeline settings I should be using?
I have plenty of room on my Scratch Disk and 8 Gig of RAM and according to my Activity Monitor during the export process  have about 800 Meg of System Memory during export but the CPU Usage is 98% and in my Activity Monitor I see under “Process Name” ImporterRedServer flashing up at the top of the list about every second during export.
Why .720x480 mpeg DVD setting is so much faster than all the other export codecs?
And if there are any other settings I can use to get higher speed exports in HD? 14x1 seems a little slow especially since every time it crashes I have to start over.

    Hi,
Since a long time I did not encounter the crash of Media encoder with
    long file export.
But I take care of a lot of details before the export :
    - clean up Media cache and Media Cache Files within PP CS6 and/or CC,
    - delete all render files with Preview Files,
    - rendering of sequences until the rendering is completed,
    - PP CS6 and/or Pp CC opened during export to AME and/or Encore CS6,
I guessed to leave Adobe but this company remains the last with a
serious authoring software (Encore CS 6).
    I tested :
    - Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro X, both are very good software but
no really authoring software for these video editing softs.
Th only way is to "flood" Adobe with "bug reports" and "wish forms"
which are not very easy to use.
And also to call the Adobe support day by day until they send they
    escalate the bug.

  • Can you use Premier Media Encoder on a seperate machine?

I'm running premier pro (cs4) on my laptop (win7) and it runs really great, but the rendering is pretty slow.
I'd prefer to save the project and then somehow run the media encoder on my more powerful workstation.
Obviously i don't want to buy a second license of Premier. Is there a way of running Premier on the laptop, sending some kind of export file to a network folder and then running it through Media Encoder on the workstation?
I guess this would involve just installing Media Encoder on the workstation, is that possible?
    Hope that makes sense.
Considering the Laptop is a quadcore and the workstation is an 8 core this could potentially half my rendering time.
    Cheers
    Alan

Great that it worked for you.
Being allowed two personal installations is a good move on Adobe's part. By closing down one instance of the application, and then launching it on the other machine keeps you legal under the EULA. That is something that I always try to follow.
I have had instances, where I'd have maybe PS open on the laptop, and forget about it, only to fire it up on the workstation. So far, I've never had a problem, and the "Adobe Police" have never knocked on my door. I usually get back to the laptop and realize what I did, and utter a big "Oops!"
For migrating Projects between the two machines, I use a handful of FW-800 externals, with ALL Project files on them. I have set the drive letter for each of these externals to be the same, in the OS on each machine. Works very well for me. If I were not so heavily invested in FW-800 drives, I'd definitely go with eSATA's w/ the necessary cards.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • CPU Usage Question between Premier and Media Encoder

    Hey guys,
Here is the question. I just built a new machine with the following specs:
    Intel i7 2.66GHz process overclocked to 3.2GHz
    12GB Memory
    Nvidia 260 Overclocked video card.
When I export a video from Adobe Premier into Media Encoder, all 8 cores peg out at 100% and thus my CPU temp get hot really quick (78 - 80 degrees Celsius)
Now if I take the same original video file and just drag it into Media Encoder, my 8 cores only show about 24-40% usage and the temp only gets to around 55-60 degrees Celsius.
What is causing such a big difference in CPU usage? I'm afraid to use Adobe Premier as it causes the CPUs to max out everytime. I want to edit my videos, but as stuck with just using AME on the original files.

I suspect its simply because in the first case Pr and AME are both running. In the later, just ame loading the Pr project. In the forst case two projects are running simultaneously, the one in Pr and a temp copy in AME.
But more troublesome to me is why youve built a system that cant be maxed out. IN editing, we Want the CPUs to peg to process as fast as possible. IMHO; You should re-think the design of your workstation if it overheats so easily.

  • Best quality HDV to DVD using Premier Pro CC to Media Encoder CC and Encore

I have been struggeling to create a decent looking DVD from my HD video.  I am a newbe.  And I have read many, many forum posts trying to learn the best practice and have come out even more confused.  Many posts are back in 2009 and I don't think they apply.  Some recommend dynamic link which does not appear to be an option for me.  So I am hoping to get a clear answer to my problems.  I am including alot of info because I don't know what is really important.
I have 2 types of video that I am merging into my sequences.
    Sony:
    Format                                   : AVC
    Bit rate                                 : 11.5 Mbps
Maximum bit rate                         : 16.0 Mbps
    Width                                    : 1 440 pixels
    Height                                   : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio                     : 16:9
    Frame rate                               : 29.970 fps
    Scan type                                : Interlaced
Scan order                               : Top Field First
    JVC:
    Format                                   : AVC
    Bit rate                                 : 16.3 Mbps
Maximum bit rate                         : 17.0 Mbps
    Width                                    : 1 920 pixels
    Height                                   : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio                     : 16:9
    Frame rate                               : 29.970 fps
    Scan type                                : Interlaced
Scan order                               : Top Field First
I set my sequence in Premier Pro CC to
    AVC-Intra 50 1080i
    29.97 fps
    1440 x 1080
    HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.3333)
    30fps Drop-Frame Timecode
Hopefully I set up my sequence correctly???
Dynamic Link is not available to me, so I export the sequence.  This is where i get confused.
I export to MPEG2-DVD.  Preset NTSC DV Wide
Some forum posts say to tweek the video setting for better quality, this is what I have read:
    quality to 100
    minimum bit rate  4
    target bitrate 6
    maximum bitrate 7
    click maximum render quality
Since my source has upper field order but PP defaults to lower field order, should I switch to upper?
    I encode in Media Encoder.
In Encore, I have my dvd settings:
    MPEG-2
    720x480
    29.97 fps
Lower fields first  (should this be upper??)
I have an i5 processor, 8G ram, I am using Mecury GPU accelerator.
I listed a lot of stuff and I appologize.  I just think the quallity I am getting isn't there.  With these setting and what I am doing, is this as good as the quality gets?
    Help

    Use a 1920 x 1080, 30i sequence for the editing, not 1440 x 1080.
Start with the MPEG2-DVD option and the NTSC DV Widescreen preset.  Change the Quality to 100.  Change the Field Order from Lower to Upper.  Change the Min, Target and Max bitrates to 5, 7 and 9 respectively.  If you have hardware acceleration turned on, export away.  If you're running in Software Only mode, check the Maximum Render Quality box and then export.
Bring the resulting video and audio files into Encore for authoring.

  • Media Encoder CS6 Not Exporting all Audio Tracks From Premiere

I'm working with DSLR footage, 2 Channels of .WAV audio from an exernal recorder (H4N), and a 1 channel .WAV Music track. 3 Channels total of .Wav audio.
I can export from Premiere Pro CS6 to H.264 just fine, but if I try to send it to Media Encoder, it only track 3, which has the music.
I can't figure out this issue, and haven't found an answer on any forums. This problem effectively makes Media Encoder useless to me, so I would prefer it to be solved, rather than find a work around.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Mark

I'm having the same problem. But even worst.
For the test, I take a 10 min .mov or mp4 file, simply modify the "scale", and hit the export.
a 10 min file is taking 4 hours to render.
    This is on a:
    2012 MacBookPro i7 2.3Ghz, 16 GB 1600 DDR3, SSD disk. - Mac OSX 10.7.5
    and a:
    2011 iMac i7 3.7Ghz, 16 GB 1333 Mhz, 7200 RPM HD - Mac OSX 10.7.5
The CPU stays at 90% idle the whole time.
I know this is an old thread, but maybe someone could give me a hand.

  • Adobe Media Encoder - stretching video possible?

This is a question about CS4 Flash Media Encoder(not Live Encoder) but as I can't find a forum for it, I'm posting here.
Is it possible to stretch video? When selecting 'Resize Video' if the software believes the output proportions are different to the source proportions, it fills the space with black bars.
However the CS3 Video Encoder would stretch the video to the dimensions specified regardless of any variation in proportions.
Am I missing a setting, or has the video stretching feature been removed in the CS4 version?
I am using the most up-to-date version of the software at the time of writing (Adobe Media Encoder V4.1.0.107)

I just came across this same problem and cannot find any setting that seem to do what we need.
And yes, I'm sure we both are aware it is not a great idea to be stretching and squeezing, but sometimes you have to do it.
I would be interested to know if there is a way.

  • Smallest Video Size Possible in Adobe Media Encoder

    Hello,
I have a lot of realmedia audio files that I need to convert to mp4 so that I can put them into InDesign. The reason I want them as mp4 and not mp3 is because I need the seek controls along with the normal play, stop, etc, I need to be able to move forward and backward through the audio as I like, using the seek function is a big deal in this project, and I don't think that is possible if I just place an audio mp3 file into InDesign? If it is, that would be ideal, so please let me know.
Anyway, assuming that it isn't, I'm able to convert the rm files to mp4 ok, but they don't work in InDesign until I run them through Adobe Media Encoder, my question is: there are no video scenes to this 'video' it's just a black screen with the audio playing, what settings do I choose in Adobe Media Encoder to make the video file size as small as humanly possible since all I need is the audio in that video format?
I don't know the first thing about AME so would be grateful for your input as to which exact settings I need to change.

Ok so that didn't work because I needed the video but because of your answer I had to go searching to find where the option to export video was and as a result was able to find all those options that I never saw before, I've managed to get it to be quite a small file size now by messing around with the settings. Thanks.
