Multible / Duplicate Podcasts again!

Hello
I have two duplicate podcasts appearing again in the iTunes Library of The Bleeding Edge (not sure why) and what to delete one.
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=129522792&s=143 441
and....
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=128913256&s=143 441
They are both coming from the original feed, (http://feeds.feedburner.com/the-bleeding-edge) .
I know how to report a concern but how do I know which one to delete or report on? I would hate to delete the wrong listing!
Many Thanks
Terry Monro

Thanks Terrell - I have reported it this morning to Apple, however they advise also to insert the tag so it blocks it from itunes, but Ive already deleted the feed from feedburner - Is this ok?
The FAULTY podcast that Ive requested to remove is

  • How eliminate 'duplicate' podcasts ?

How eliminate 'duplicate' podcasts from my lists?  Somehow a lot of the podcasts I've subscribed to have within them duplicates of each podcast issue.  I can go thru and select each duplicate and then trash, but isn't there an easier way?  There's a lot of them.
And i'm surprised iTunes didn't alert me that this might happen.  Like when I'm downloading photos I'm always alerted that I already have that and do i wish to replace the current one, or not make duplicates.
I believe the problem started thusly:  Some of the podcasts I've subscribed to suddenly stopped arriving with new issues (or whatever you call each weekly episode, or whatever).  And I know that those podcasts are still active and issuing new ones weekly so I don't know why I wasn't getting the weekly updates.  So in my ignorance I went to the iTunes Store and subscribed again to the same.  I thought that would get me back on track.  I trusted that it would alert me and not send me duplicates.  But it did.
So I guess I have 2 questions.  1) How to eliminate the duplicates easily?  That's the main Question. I'd be satisfied with the answer to that.
and 2)  What do I do when I suddenly stop getting updated episodes of podcasts I know are active and issuing updates I'm not getting.
Thanks very much for your help.  I will gratefully award the helpiest answers.

i have the same problem.  surprised no one has offered you a solution yet.

  • Itunes Crashes - Duplicate Podcast Libaries

I have a problem where itunes created a new unwanted 'podcast library'.
Now when I try to update or refresh any podcasts in the original 'podcast library', itunes crashes.
I have a mac mini powerpc G4 operating osx 10.5.8. My version of itunes is 10.6.3.
Here is what happened: I suscribed to a new podcast from an internet browser while itunes was closed.
When itunes opened I found that it had created a second  'podcast library' (visible above the previous 'library' on the top left-hand side of itunes).
I also noticed that the small highlighted oval which lists the number of podcast episodes had disappeared from the old 'podcast library'.
When I try to update or refresh a podcast from the existing 'podcast library', itunes now crashes. However, I can still listen to old podcasts.
I tried to manualy delete the new 'podcast library' by going to my itunes Library Folder, but found that there is only one folder named 'podcasts' and it is the original one. I tried re-installing itunes 10.6.3 but the unwanted 'podcast library' still appeared.
Has anyone had this problem before? Is there any way to delete a duplicate podcast library that itunes created?
Thank in advance for your help!

  • Duplicate Podcasts and iTunes U Podcasts

Does anyone know how I can search for and delete duplicate podcasts? the File>Display Duplicates option only seems to be available for Music files.

If you cannot get your audio books to play on your 4th gen shuffle, hit play. While songs are playing hold down your VOICE OVER button until you hear names of songs and keep holding it. When you hear the title of your audio book or podcast you wish to hear release the VOICE OVER button. Hit PLAY one time. I spent 50+ minutes with apple support & they were finally able find out about the VOICE OVER button. Wish that was on the directions in the first place.

  • How do i remove duplicate podcasts

how do i remove duplicate podcasts in itunes?

If you mean a duplicated series?
    Grouping podcasts
A podcast series will split up in this way when its feed is moved to a new URL. Merging the series requires editing all the older episodes so that they appear to have come from the current feed. Download and install Mp3Tag (not sure of a Mac equivalent offhand). Use it to explore the Extended tags of podcasts from the same series. PODCASTURL (formerly ITUNESPODCASTURL) is used to link different podcasts from the same subscription (as opposed to fields like Album & Album Artist etc.) and PODCASTID (formerly ITUNESPODCASTID) determines the order. Everything else seems to be optional. Backup your files, tweak a few a tags then highlight the changed files in turn in iTunes with the image pane set to Selected item. This is marginally quicker for small numbers of files than using select, Get Info, OK to get iTunes to refresh its knowledge of the tags. Erm, last I checked the method no longer works anyway. If iTunes still fails to notice the updated tags try my script UpdateTagInfo (Win).
As far as I'm aware the order is determined by the PODCASTID, but if you need/want to modify the Release Date then in MP3Tag/Extended Tags it corresponds to RELEASETIMEin the format yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ssZ, e.g. 2008-02-20T09:10:52Z
    If you mean duplicated episodes?
Create a smart playlist with the rule Podcast is true, display exact duplicates, and then apply my DeDuper script.

  • My itunes has created a duplicate podcast folder. How can I delete this? I can't sync my podcasts to my ipod because there are now two Podcast folders.

How do I delete the duplicate podcast folder? Because there are two podcast folders it is stopping my ipod nano from syncing when i plug it in.  I have searched the libraries on the hard drive but this extra podcast folder can't be found.

I have figured out a workaround that may work for you.  It doesn't address the cause of the problem but it has gotten me past the problem.  Note: Mac OSX
    1.  Make note of all of the podcasts that you currently have in each of your folders.  You will need this to get back to your current position if you choose.
2a.  Right click on the first of the two folders named Podcast.  (Command Click, two-finger tap, as appropriate.)  Delete should appear as an option.  Select it.  All of the contents and subscriptions in that folder will be lost.
On my system, Delete appeared as an option only on the first of the two folders named Podcast.
2b.  I deleted the contents of the second folder but, in retrospect, I don't think that was necessary.
    3.  You should now be left with just one Podcast folder.
    4.  Go to the iTunes store and resubscribe or download the podcasts you wish to restore.  All of the podcasts should appear in the one remaining podcast folder.  When I hit refresh to check, it did not crash this time.
    5.  Sync to your ipod.  I got a warning message about the mismatch, said ok and let the sync proceed.  It appears to have worked, as it did on my ipad.
Messy but it worked.  Hope it helps both you, evechoc and ifan94.
    Good luck!

  • Phantom Duplicate Podcasts in iTunes 11.3.1 & iOS 7 & Podcasts 2.1.2

This has been happening only for the last few versions (since maybe the last few versions of 11.2.X) every time i sync it creates a duplicate listing of any pre-existing podcast episodes. i say phantom because i don't think these duplicates actually exist on the device only in the list shown in iTunes (they don't show up on the device they also don't seem to be transferring or taking up any additional space) the only way i have found to resolve this is that every time i have to sync i must do it twice (at least) by unchecking sync podcasts syncing to remove all podcasts (which actually doesn't seem to reliably remove the episodes by the way) then sync again with the sync podcasts checked.
    Anyone else seen this one?

The issue is really annoying.  On my phone (and in iTunes) it keeps Unsubscribing me to all the feeds and on my phone it keeps duplicating the feeds.
The play counter is all over the place in each of these too.  Episodes keep popping back on as unplayed, downloaded episodes that are actually Unplayed keep deleting themselves.  This app is an absolute nightmare.

  • Downloading a podcast again

I "subscribed" to a podcast and then downloaded ("Get") one of the podcast.
Now I would like to download the same one again but doesn't give me the "Get" option.
    Now what?

  • Duplicate Podcasts

I have multiple podcasts that seem to have become their own animal.
For example, I have two podcasts with the name "Focus on the Family". One, correctly updates and has podcasts in it from September 1, 2006. The other, also named "Focus on the Family" has podcasts from June 1, 2006 - August 31, 2006. How do I merge the two together to only show one podcast with all of the episodes.
I have tried the "copy & paste" with no avail. I have also confirmed that the information is the same behind each podcasts.
    Any Ideas?
    12" Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

You can try unsubscribing to the podcast and re-subscribing. Another thing, is you can try searching for duplicates in the library and deleting the duplicates. (not sure if the podcasts would show up in the main library or not though).
    Good Luck.

  • Amarok keeps adding same podcasts again and again...

    hi,
I'm having a problem with amarok (2.2.2-3). every podcast-episode appears not only once in the list. instead, everytime amarok checks for new episodes it adds already existing apisodes to the list. so after some days i have dozens of entries for each episode.
    any ideas, anyone?

  • Deleting duplicate podcasts

I have a huge library of podcasts that has an many duplicates in it. I want to delete the duplicates, but here are the problems:
    1. When I look at the podcasts in a smart playlist, the duplicates appear next to each other, but highlighting one and hitting delete does nothing, and right-clicking on it does not give a delete option.
    2. When I look at the Podcasts section of the Library, I the Podcasts are sorted by broadcast date (they are radio shows). The column that would be Name in the Music section simply says Podcasts, and you can't sort by that. Therefore, I cannot get the duplicates to appear next to each other, so I really can't tell what I have duplicates of.
    3. Show Duplicates (under the View menu) does not work in Podcasts as it does in Music.
    I hope I am missing something--am I?

Clarification: In Smart Playlists, there is a Name column by which the Podcasts can be sorted. That's why it is easy to have the duplicates appear next to each other.
I can make them appear together without being able to delete them, or I can have the ability to delete them without being to easily see which are duplicates.

  • Duplicate podcasts on ipod on comp, not on device, and not the same number on the device

I have a podcast problem. My itunes settings for podcasts are corrrect I believe. My ipod always shows less than on the itunes library when synced but I've got o over that and decided to listen to the missing ones on the computer.
NOW though when connected the ipod showing in itunes is showing duplicate items of the same ipod. and it's totally random which ones it picks. I've tried deleting podcasts and resubsribing. Tried restoring ipod several times, checked updates none of which work. for example right now I have 58 unheard podcasts in my itunes library on comp. on the actual ipod I have 33 only. on the ipod showing on itunes on the computer I have 147 which is made up of random duplicates, some read, some not read.
    Can anyone help?

Do have iTunes 11.2,2 on the computer? That is the latest version and fixed some problem with Podcast syncing

  • ITunes 5 Duplicate Podcasts

I occasionally run a File/Add Folder to Library command on my main iTunes folder (c:\Music). When I've done this, I always get duplicate entries in the Podcasts pseudo-playlist, each pointing at the same file. My Podcasts folder is in c:\Music\Podcasts.
There doesn't seem to be any other way to get iTunes to refresh it's view of what's in the music library if you've manually copied some MP3s there.

It may be a Mac only thing, because I don't see how to do it in iTunes for Windows.
You can export a podcast as a PCAST file by simply dragging and dropping the podcast entry onto the desktop. The PCAST format seems to be supported by a number of other podcast clients now, so that's always a possibility.

  • Duplicate Podcast Listing with the same feed

I run the boagworld.com podcast and for ages I have had the problem of my show appearing twice in the listings.
Essentially the two shows are identical. They even share the same feed. The only difference between the two is a parameter at the end of the podcasts urls...
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/boagworldpodcast
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/boagworldpodcast/?i=2
Obviously I want to remove the duplicate because it is causing confusion. However, I cannot add the normal block tag because they both share the same feed and that would remove both.
I have written to Apple and requested that one be removed but have got no response.
    Any ideas?

It does turn up twice in the Search results but subscribing from either results in it using the same feed, the one without the addition on the end.
Both URLs open the feed; the only thing I can suggest is that you remove the access to the feed through the longer URL, though as I don't know how you've managed to achieve that I can't advise how. This may eventually remove it from the Search results, though it may take some time. As both instances actually appear to be using the same URL I don't see any other way of dealing with it, since the normal processes will affect both appearances and would remove the show entirely.

  • How do I get iTunes to autoplay podcasts again?

So I try and never update iTunes as long as I can stand to have that irritating popup asking me to update, because inevitably the update makes one aspect of iTunes worse. As of the last update Apple seems to believe that because some people don't want their podcasts autoplaying one after another that no one does and that that ability must be done away with!
I've spent about 3 hours searching for a way to get my podcast to play like they did before I updated the freaking thing yesterday with no luck, is their a option that I'm just not seeing to fix this or do I just have to wait for Apple to get a clue and do the easy thing and put a freaking button on the options tab for this?
