Multicam editing problems with RT

I am having an issue in Final Cut Pro with editing with the multi-cam editor. We are us-ing a G5 Quad with 4.5 GB of Ram. We selected 4 clips from the Browser, control clicked and chose "make multiclip". Then dragged the Multiclip in to the viewer window, or double clicked it to get it there. Dropped the multiclip to the timeline. Played the Clip, and chose our views in real-time. The video on the Canvas cuts out when we made a new selection. There were cuts made, but they did not show up in the browser. Then we had to play the clip back to get the cuts to show up. I know this is not how it is supposed to work. With the Lesson files in the Final Cut Pro book, you are able to cut and see the edits in real time. I have also seen this done on a less powerful machine than what we are using. Also I have the RT set to Unlimited, and Dynamic. Any Suggestions?

What do you mean with "There were cuts made, but they did not show up in the browser"? The cuts are not supposed to show up in the browser. Did you mean the timeline (your sequence)?

Premiere Pro 7.1 serious Multicam Editing problems

Hello, I am posting here because the bug report I filed one week ago to Adobe didn't give a result -no response at all from the bug department.
I have two serious Multicam Editing Problems.
PC Configuration: Core i7950, Asus P6TD Deluxe, 12GB DDR3 1600MHZ, Quadro K4000, SSD for the system, Seagate Constellation 7200rpm for video editing.
1. When multicam mode is on at the program monitor, I press play and the program doesn't respond at all. The timeline plays till the end and the program just doesn't let you do anything but wait until playback of the whole timeline is over. Then the program works again (no "not responding" message in Windows).
2. Sometimes the waveform doesn't even appear at the multicam audio clip. I read in other forums that this problem is found specifically at Premiere Pro version 7.1 (October release).
I would be grateful with your help.

The media is always a combination of HD .MOV (dSLR footage and .MTS (from my Sony Vg-30). However, I also tested it with .mpeg files created by "match sequence settings". GPU acceleration is always on, as I use nVidia Quadro K4000 with the latest drivers (331.82).
I always create the multicam sequences manually and the problem occurs with any amount of camera angles.
The problem was not solved by reinstaling Windows (7 and 8). In general, I have no other issue with my PC system, except from this specific one.
It doesn't appear always, however it will definitely happen if you press twice or three times the letter L, to fast forward the preview of your Multicam Sequence.
I remind you that this only happens when multicam monitor is toggled at the program monitor.
Did all these help at all to even reproduce this situation?

Multicamera edit problem in Premiere Pro CC

I have a multicamera edit project, the source and target timelines are set up as required. I've performed the multicamera edit and saved the file. When I open the saved file, only one track in the source file shows up in the target sequence. All tracks in the source sequence are visible, the file was saved exactly as it was when the multicamera edit was performed. It looks like a bug to me.

FC studio2 editing problems with western digital my book home for mac

hi--bought a 1TB WD my book home for mac coupla years ago because it seemed like a good deal for so much space, and provided and eSATA hookup, too. Worked ok for a while. Now, with a growing Motion project that I bring into FC for overall color/levels/export adjustments, I'm getting a long-term beachball every time I try to do anything with it. Just did a complete reinstall of FC studio (after running Techtool pro 5 rebuild and optimizing files and volume), trashed the project and recreated it incase the file itself was corrupted, but the beachball keeps showing up once i try to get past a particular edit and play the file through -- something I haven't had problems with before. Have read this harddrive is a real POS/PIA for many because of its internal "sleep" setting and other weaknesses, and am thinking of cracking the drive out of its case and putting it into a plain eSATA/FireWire enclosure. Anybody else tried this or heard of it working? Money's a big issue right now (too many slow/no pay clients), so can't just run out and get a new drive and transfer w/out trying cheaper route first. Would appreciate feedback, cuz this is makin' me lose what little hair i got left!

My question says: "Final Cut Studio 2 editing problems"; I formatted the drive for the mac when i bought it: journaled HFS+, Apple Partition Map; 2 partitions (and connected via eSATA); which has been working fine as is up till now. The sequence and settings are those in which I've worked on many projects for years with no problems up until now. I am also completely up-to-date with all my app and system updates. I did begin to wonder after posting if the reinstall might be the source of my problems, but it was the interminable beachball waits that prompted the reinstall in the first place.

Multicamera edit problem (another one)

I am trying to do a 3-camera edit. I created a sequence with the three shots lined up. I then created a new sequence, nested the first sequence into this sequence, enabled multicamera, brought up the multicamera monitor, and began my edit. Soon after, any attempts to play my project were met with "rendering required files" accompanied by a slowly moving yellow bar, and ending with . . . nothing. The yellow bar reaches 100% and hangs there. I can hit "cancel" and try it again, but the same thing happens repeatedly and I cannot get the project to play in real time. I *can* scroll and manually make my edits that way, but cutting to the beat (which I'm trying to do) is out of the question.
As an experiment, I created a third sequence, imported the first sequence again, and had the same experience. I can get the project to play in the multicamera monitor and make some edits exactly once, but if I hit "stop," I have the same "rendering required files" issue if I try to play the sequence again. I'm stumped.
Windows Vista 64 bit
CS 4.2.1
4 megs memory
Intel quad core processor (model is escaping me right now)
I'll happily provide any other information that would help someone figure this out for me.

Editing problems with iTunes 64-bit in Vista

Hello!
Just bot a new computer with Win Vista 64-bit and had to install new iTunes 64-bit.
It's somewhat slow when switching between Windows and iTunes.
Also, what happened to the "quick" edit feature?
As in.... highlight song, hit F2 or just click ONCE with left mouse button and you can EDIT the song title, artist, etc...
It's NO longer available!
What happened to it?
I'm RE-importing my HUGE collection of playlists and backed up library and songs, which is all MESSED up and.... I have to spend TONS of time now EDITING the title info!!!
Anyone have problems or any solutions to this "editing" snafu????

SAP ISA R/3 Edition problem with TREX

We are migration our Internet Sales (R/3 Edition) 4.0 with SAP J2EE Engine 6.20 to SAP J2EE Engine 6.40.
Weve already migrate your Java Basket data. And weve installed TREX 6.1
for catalogue replication and weve created a WEB SITE in IIS.
Weve created a B2B scenario and weve configured xcm for: b2b, Shopadmin
and trexr3.
Apparently TREX is working fine... I can create and replicate catalogs, view the catalogs within TREX, etc. But I'm getting the following error when I try to see the content of catalog within http://10.125.25.57:50100/trexr3/b2x/admin/catalog.do.

I've just updated TREX 6.1 to SP33 and the problem persists.

Multicam Editing Problem during Export Pr CC

Hey guys, first post.
i have been working on a pretty long multicam project (About 1h45m) in Premiere Pro CC
I was all done, and during export in Media Encoder i noticed that after about 45m of rendering, the preview window was still showing the beginning of the video. Upon further inspection, i noticed that the video appeared to be Looping. Sencing that something was wrong, i cancelled my render and reopened my project.
when the project reopened i could see that after a couple of edits, there were little white triangles and the top of the clips. I need to stress that before i started rendering, these triangles where not there.
And yes, when i played through my sequence, at every edit (camera change) the multicam clip would play from the beginning again. i have tried to remove everything after where this problem occurs and then drag the footage out. It does allow me to do edits again and it works fine, but i dont really want to spend hours doing it again, not understanding what the problem is and run the risk of it messing up again.
I am so very confused as to what is going on so any help at all would be awesome. Its very frustrating to work on something for so long and it fail during export.

The triangles indicate hard media boundaries -- there are no more frames available from the source clip beyond that frame. If you don't have a triangle on a clip at an edit point, then the source media has frames available beyond the in or out point of that clip instance on the timeline.
There are a few things that might cause what you're seeing, so I recommend you check your multicam source sequence to make sure that it's referencing the correct media, and that all the media in your project points to the correct files on disk. Double- and triple-check that all the clip instances in the timeline point to the correct sequence or media. If the problem is related to clips on the timeline not pointing to the right thing, you could save yourself some work by trying to fix that instead of re-creating your edits. You should also see if you have any Auto-Saved projects that don't have the triangles at the edit points and that play the edited sequence correctly -- you could save yourself even more work.

FCPX 10.0.3 "instant edit" problem with OLD MBP and iMac

The setting
~15Gb of footage from 5D Mark 2 (with half the bitrate through Magic Lantern)
~Short editing project.
The problem
In the beginning, I used my early 08 MBP
I tried importing the footage from CF to an event on my USB drive (I don't have a FW800 drive atm)
Selected "create proxy media"
Instantly all clip show up, however,
all clips in event has the red document and ! sign, cannot preview.
the "background activity window" shows that it is converting.
I have to wait until the first clip finish processing, then the red document with ! sign icon will be gone,
I can preview, and start editing
Then, I tried running FCPX on an 2007 iMac
using the same import setting, I again import the footage from CF to USB drive
again selected "create proxy media"
INSTANTLY all clip show up WITH PREVIEW and I can just start editing right away,
and I can see that the maching is doing background proxy conversion to ProRes 422
Then, after iMac has finish creating the proxy media for the first clip (there are about 14), I stopped the background processing, and confirmed that all previewing, editing function are still intact, i can see every clip and the waveform and everything. Since both the event and the project is on the USB drive, I ejected it and put it back on my macbook pro. FCPX on my macbook pro can see the event, the project, so I load them up. However, all the clip that has no proxy media show up again with the red document ! icon, and i cannot preview any of those. The file which has proxy media created is behaving just fine.

There are playback preferences that set playback to either proxy media or original/optimized media. You can only work with and play one type of media at a time. If you have proxy playback switched on you will only see proxy media.

FCP Multicam Editing Problem, Not Saving

i have been editing on final cut for several years now, but i have never had a problem like this. i am editing a wedding using the multicam function, but every time i hit the space bar to pause the sequence all of the marks for the cuts disappear and are not saved. the entire clip goes to which ever angle as selected last. if they is anyone who has experienced this and could help it would be appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to the family.
You're saying: A) you've been using multicam for several years or, B) this is your first use of multicam after all these years?
The section in the manual is explicit and a bit confusing but following the step-by-step procedure is absolutely necessary the first few times so you figure out how the thing is supposed to work. I think it's weirdly non-intuitive but they didn't ask me.
Remember also that multicam is an effect and will render. Once it renders, you must unrender to make additional edits. Needlessly adds to the confusion.

[Edit]Problem with Zen Micro when connected to PC-- cleared but another prob

My problem is that my Computer (winxp, sp2) does not identify my zen micro any longer. few days ago it worked perfectly but now it doesnt work.
my zen micro has the firmware with the MTP/plays for sure
I had installed the things from the cd, when I bought it, that was in the package and then new drivers and the new applications, so two programs. (I had two Zen Micro symbols on my desktop but I could only use the program with MTP)
it worked fine.
a few weeks ago I had the same problem, but after a few connectings and disconnectings it worked again.
today this doesnt helped. I uninstalled everything what had to do with creative and then only installed new drivers and the newest applications (without the things from the cd).
it still doesnt work.
when I click on the "Zen Micro Media Explorer (MTP)" on the desktop I can see that my zen micro is connected. When I go to my playlists and click on one, it seems that my playlist is "empty". but in the mp3-player there is the playlist!
when I click on my music folder, where all the music is I see the folders, but when I go into the folders, the folders are also "empty".
what happened? I changed the usb ports--> doesnt work...
what can I do in order to use my zen micro again on the pc. my zen micro works fine(playlists and songs work normally), but I have problems having connected it to my pc... I cannot copy songs and edit my playlists anymore. is there any way to edit the playlists via mp3-player without connecting to the pc?

ok guys, I almost solved the problem. I used the rescue mode, used clean up, and now the folders are not empty and I can copy songs into my Zen Micro.
But the playlists are "empty". Also when I want to create a new playlist it says that my mp3-player is not connected ?! But it is! I can copy files into it!
I also cannot synchronize it with WMP0.
I reinstalled software and it didnt help...
So what can I do? It is connected but I cannot edit my playlists.

Incontext editing problem with firefox 3.6 and safari

when i try to login to a page with ctrl + e the following message comes up:
"You have Adobe Flash Player version 10,0,2 installed.
Adobe InContext Editing requires Adobe Flash Player version 10,0,12 or higher.
Install Adobe Flash Player"
but i have the latest version ...
in safari i always had that problem, in firefox it worked, but not after i updated to 3.6
it still works with chrome, but anyway ...

I'm finding that Muse doesn't work well in older browsers, since it uses technology they don't understand. I think if we design sites in Muse, we're assuming that viewers are using newer browsers.

Printing & Editing problems with 7.1.2

Goodday to everyone
Upgraded to 7.1.2 last night then imported some photos. First problem seemed to be it was much slower than normal but of course that is subjective. No problems importing raw files from my Canon 20D.
The first real problem is that I couldn't delete - pressing the delete key simply resulted in a beep. There was no menu option for delete. So the only way was to the original photo I cut was reinstated back into the library. Wierd.
The other problem was with printing. I have a HP Photosmart C6280 which as two trays - one large (A4) and one small for 4x6 "postcard" paper. Very convenient but with this upgrade the ability to select the small tray has been lost. The option is there but I cannot select it.
Are these generic problems or is it just me? Any suggestions on how I might fix the problems?

I did a permissions and disk repair prior to install but not after. Did a permissions repair as you advised but a new account repeated the problem.
Re-installed the software. Didn't fix the problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still no joy. Rebooted and everything was fine. Had rebooted at least twice during earlier testing to no avail.
One last question though ... the permissions repair before and after the OS/iPhoto update took a lot longer than I recall it taking previously - well over over an hour - I ended up going to bed both times! It's a 160GB drive with 12gb free. Should it take this long?

Multicam Editing Problems

Hi!
I am able to create a multicam clip, and when I double click it it drops to the timeline & appears in my Angles viewer. However, when I hover my mouse over the 3 different angles it doesn't change to the blade, nor does clicking the clips themselves seem to make any cuts. In short, I have a multicam clip that I can set up but cannot edit. What am I doing wrong?? Have the Pro Manuals & watched many how to videos but I cannot tell what I'm doing differently.
Any help appreciated!

No, MCs, as a special incarnation of compound, are great, I'm using them weekly, and it's one of the many time-saving marvels of FCPX.
But indeed, those 'multi purpose timelines' can confuse, esp. when you're not knowing where you're actually are..
And compounds confuse on top of that!!
