Multicam issue - repeating footage?

this issue has cropped with Premiere Pro CC - i have a multicam set-up, and am editing with alternating between my two angles.
I'm working with raw footage from 2 cameras, the raw footage clips run about 20-30mins each. i've brought the footage into my sequence, synced the audio, nested and began editing with multicam. it's been working fine for hte most part, but occasionally if the program is closed (either saved and closed or it crashes) when i reopen it my multicam sequence repeats the same shot over and over again.
my MC1 and MC2 views do alternate at the points that i've assigned, but each change makes the footage start from the beginning of the raw clip. the audio is completely unchanged and plays as it should. it feels as if my multicam is confused by the visual edit after the program is closed, so alternating between "clip 1" and "clip 2" means i get repetition of my opening shots for the entire edit.
any guidance on why this happens, or if i'm doing something wrong with my workflow for this to occur? I have had to restart 3 projects and had finish the edits in one sitting to avoid this from happening.

This is a known issue.  Update to 7.0.1.

Since downloading OS6 for my iPad, the calendar keeps issuing repeated & different alerts for events even when I initiated none.
Any suggestions as how to stop this will be most appreciated.
    Thank you in advance !

This is the same issue that has plagued me for years. I always thought that this was a Flash plugin issue, but it does occur on HTML5 as well. A friend of mine verified that this does not occur in Linux, but only on Windows. It would be great to have this fixed, as it's honestly the only thing that's making me use Chrome all the time, as I don't want to have multiple browsers open.

  • Major Multicam issues

I spoke to Adobe online for about 3 hours regarding this issue. The Multicam function simply doesn't work, but It has in the past. The solution adobe provided me with goes as follows. Take my footage to be synched in multicam and place it in a bin. Grab the footage individually and place it on the time line. Synch it. Then nest it. From there I can create a new nested sequence and on the time line I can enable multicam function. Well now the problem is that I have all these nested sequences, but Premiere can only have one nested sequence with multicam enabled on the timeline. I have explained this problem to them over and over again with no resolution as to why Multicam isn't working at all and any alternatives to fixing this new problem. Has anyone experienced this?

Funny how your questions regarding overage had over 642 viewers and yet no replies by Verizon!  Verizon doesn't have the slightest idea of what is happening with data usage and overage charges.  What a joke!

  • Playback Issues Repeated/Dropped Frame?

I have a hackintosh with Adobe CS6 Production Premium installed. On Premiere Pro when editing footage every so often I have a repeated frame/dropped frame. I don't think its really called a dropped frame because I have the drop frame indicator and it shows no signs at all (green throughout the timeline). When playing back the footage/clip it looks as though there is a duplicated frame then continues to play as normal. If I have a 5min sequence it will do this once every 20-30 secs. When exported everything is fine so can only be a problem during playback within Premiere. Has anyone come across this problem before? If there is a fix or would the upgrade just fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
    Specs:
    Ppro 6.0.0
GPU: Nvidia GTX 680 cuda enabled
    CPU: core i7
    Mac OSX 10.8.3
    Footage: ProRes 422 1920x1080 25p

If it doesn't show up in the export, it's a pretty minor issue safely ignored.

  • Authorization issue - repeating error message

I'd just like to mention that I recently experienced the dreaded authorization loop where iTunes continuously asks for authorization to play certain songs. After exhausting different possibilities to resolve the problem, I tried something different. When iTunes asked for my ID and Password, I reset my password through the "forgot password" button - and then answering the secret question I used when I made my ID. Once that was done, I clicked on the song that activated the authorization error, and entered my new password. This worked for me.
I should note that the ID that was displayed by the authorization error message (before resolving my issue) did not follow the '[email protected]'. The ID field only displayed everything prior to the '@' symbol. I don't know what to make of this, but as I looked at the songs that I wanted to play, and by utilizing the command+i (get info) function for the songs, I noticed that the purchaser ID did not follow the '[email protected]' format either (though all other music I was able to play DID follow this format).
So, I would suggest checking the songs that activate the authorization error, and taking note of the user ID that purchase the song. I suggest putting that ID into the ID field of the error message, resetting the password, and seeing where that leads.
It was a weird situation but I figured it out. Hope this helps someone!

repeating error message: "acl found but not expected" during permissions repair
My iMac is running slow. Processor running all the time. I was told to do permissions repair, so I did that. I get 100's and 100's of "ACL found but not expected" while doing a permissions repair in 'utilities'. It says 1 minute to complete but runs for a half hour. When it finally completes, I can restart the permissions repair again and it starts all over with same endless messages. Even though its says 'repaired', these ACL issues keep coming.
ACLs are just junk left over from previously installed OSXs. Just ignore. They have no impact.
Describe your exact issue and computer specs and Linc may run you through a series of tests which may well help you find the problem to your issues. I agree, Permissions repair is rarely required.

  • Graphical mapping issue, repeated lines are not populating

    Hello All,
i have mapping where i need to map source node and its coresponding subelements to target node and its subelemtns based on certains condition, which i did using If condition.
Now my issue is, when mapped source node with condition , conditional field is not in the same node which i am mapping. It is in the parent node of the node which i am mapping. SO when i mapped to target node, only one occurence only its populating in target side even When lines repeated more than once its not populating all lines corespondingly. Please let me know how to populate all line items when i have validation field in parent node and child node and its subelemnts to be mapped to the target node. ( Both parent node and sub node in source and target node are unbounded) .
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

Thanks for your reply, My source structre looks like below.
I have to map rows node and its coresponding fields to target node Lines which is unbounded and to its subelements when collection name = 'MATGRP_COLLN'.  I did it using if condition but , only one row tis getting populated in target LIne node. next repeated row values are not populating in target side.

  • Multicam issues with inability to synch

I've shot some footage on two GoPro Hero2 cameras with the audio recorded using a Zoom H1 and a Lavalier mic.
Because the Hero2 formats the SD card as a FAT32, it can't create a file larger than 4GB.  So for any recording that goes over that limit, a second, thrid, and/or fourth file is created until we either run out of card or battery power.
The Zoom H1 however, merrily chugs along recording the entire sequence in one file.
So I create my first multicam, using the audio as synch and the two frist GoPro files.  That works fine.
I give unique camera angle numbers to the next two Gor Pro files, retain the original number for the audio track, and try to multicam synch them, but it fails.  All I end up with is the audio track.
Is this approach wrong or am I just having a bad day?

OK, I tried some multicam manual settings and here's where I've ended up:
The clip browser shows the multicam clip with an audio track and an all black video track.
In the time line, I have the audio track and my two GoPro tracks that I'm trying to synch.  I have them manually synched, but what next?
There doesn't seem to be a "Done" button. I'm stuck here with my manually synched tracks and the black multicam clip in the clip browser.
Not sure how I should move on.  Just go back in Timeline history?  That simple or more to the game?  I don't want to screw up the synch (it took long enough).

  • Render issues with footage from Color

I'll start off by noting that this issue only happens running Snow Leopard.
I am having terrible problems when trying to apply and render some effects on footage which has come from Color…specifically, the Bad Film filter. Either at the render completion or during the render, I'll get all sorts of "screen draw" problems, like green and pink pixels everywhere. Sometimes they will only appear in the Canvas window, but if I launch any other app, the new app's is nothing but the screen error and the app is useless, thought I think it still functions, though useless to the point that I'm only left with having to restart. Occasionally, it'll throw that error telling me I must restart (in several different languages). I have occasionally had success with very short clips, but anything much more than 30 seconds is useless. I would think this is a hardware issue; however, it only happens under Snow Leopard and is not an issue with Leopard.
I have performed a clean install from a zeroed disk with both 10.5 and 10.6 and upgraded to the latest point release. I'm not really sure where to go from here. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I have the early 2008 8-core 2.8GHz Mac Pro with 16Gigs of RAM and two monitors connected to the ATI HD 2600 XT. I've also tried rebooting to just one monitor, but no dice. I've run hardware tests from TechTools that came with my ACD's AppleCare and all appears rosy. Real Time effects seem to work just fine and I don't have issues with all effects that require rendering. Most befuddling, I'm having no issue on clips that have not first gone through Color. Strange, huh?

Sorry about that.... The footage is ProRes422 1440x1080 going into Color and ProRes422 1920x1080 coming out. I've tried exporting at 8-bit Uncompressed out of Color with the same results.
Originally, this is 24p footage from an HV20 taken to ProRes via this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2410 method.
I'm still just not sure why this only happens in Snow Leopard, while everything works peachy in Leopard, though I think you may be on the right track with this being an FxPlug filter. I know I would occasionally get messages stating, basiclly, "Your GFX card is a wimp, these filters won't work" when trying 10-bit sequences under Leopard, thus I tried the 8-bit setting with this issue and all without any luck. I'll will try "Light Rays" and "Bloom" this evening to see if I get the same result.
To make this stranger still, Bad TV seems to render just fine, as far as I can recall, only Bad Film give me problems. I suppose this particular filter may not be compatible with my configuration. Perhaps, I shoud be getting that message instead of a crash.

  • MultiCam Issues AGAIN

I have a 2 core MAC with 12 gigs of memory using a FirmTek RAID with WD black caviar drives and CS5.5 using a Matrox MXO2 mini
I have a 12 core MAC with 64 gigs of memory using a Firm Tek RAID with the same drives using CS5.5 using a Kona LHi card
Multicam works fine in the 2 core but the window are all screwed up when using the 12 core.  AJA is looking into the issue, Adobe
won't answer their phone that has been on hold an hour.  I'm lacking the bathroom and food so with my last bit of energy I
am wondering if anyone else with an LHi card on my type of set up is having this issue.
This is a shot of my Sony HD TV used as a monitor.  The top image is camera 1 the large image to the right is
camera 2 and the black box on the bottom is camera 3.  Normally you would just get the
image you are previewing, not the multi cam monitor on your output monitor as is shown here.  The computer
    monitor looks the same.
HEY ADOBE ANSWER YOUR PHONE!  1+ hrs (I can get though to Steve Jobs in Heaven with

  • Multicam panel crops footage during playback

I recently created my first multicam sequence in Premiere Pro CS6 using source footage from 4 different cameras with different formats: Camera A (sony), Camera B (sony), Camera C (DSLR) and Camera D (HDV). Then I placed the 1920 x 1080 Multicam source footage onto a 1280 x 720 sequence and scaled the footage down by 67% to account for the smaller sequence size. When I playback my footage in the Program panel, the footage display correctly (none of the footage is being cropped). But when I preview my footage in the Multicam panel, each of the four camera views are playing back at 100%, thus cropping much of the video. This is not affecting the final output of my video; however, I would like to be able to view my footage properly (at 67% of the original size) in the Multicam monitor.
Is there a way I can do this without changing my workflow or sequence sizes?

Does the grid of characters look like this?
If not, then try switching your project settings from Mercury Playback OpenCL to Software Only.
    Cheers,
    Jeff

  • Premiere Pro 4.0 multicam issue

I am reaching my frustration level with multicam project.  I have followed ALL instructions to create the multicam sequence.   It creates the sequence, I can edit the sequence but when I save the project and go to re-open it, the project will NOT open.  It sits for about 30 seconds and then goes straight to Premiere not repsonding.
I am using Windows 7 Home Premium.  This makes no sense to me.  I can open a previous version of the project, but once I create a new sequence and nest my 2 camera synched sequence, the project will NOT reopen once I close it.
    Please Help!

There is an as-yet unresolved bug in Premiere that results in the program freezing or locking up when opening a project in which you left the Multicam monitors open. The only solution is create a new project, import the original one, and then be sure to close the Multicam monitor (or switch to a different workspace that does not use the Multicam monitor) before saving and closing your project.

  • Having issues Importing footage on Premiere Cloud Download for Mac

When I attemp to import my footage, after setting my settings to DSLR 24fps, I do not get a project bank with the sequence I title myself. I also cannot create a title file. When I attempt to and close the window, nothing happens and I have to start over. Am I doing something wrong when starting up my project? I have the Cloud download for CS6 on Mac.

I was a bit flustered I suppose and I apologise for my vagueness. When I start a new project, I choose my settings as DSLR at 24 frames. When the program opens up, in the bottom left hand corner I have the tabs Media Browser, Info, Effects, Markers, and History. Shouldn't I have one more tab for Sequence 1 (or whatever I name it) where all of my imported footage would go as well as a file for a title slide? Whenever I go to File-Import, and actually import my footage from my hard drive, nothing changes. Under the Media Browser tab, I have the option of Macintosh HD and my SD card from my camera, however none of my footage shows up. I feel like I'm missing a step and forgetting something really simple, I just don't know what... I hope that cleared it up a bit.

  • Frame Rate Issue With Footage Shot on HVX

I just shot something using the HVX and the 100Gb Firestore. The assistant cameraman set the firestore to make quicktime files to be brought into Final Cut. We shot most of our footage at high frame rates. When we watched already shot files through the camera's LCD screen, things appear in slow motion. However, when I bring the quicktime files into Final Cut, they play at normal speed. How do I convert the frame rate to what we shot at? Is there some import tool that does this automatically?

Use the same tool I recommended to this guy, the DVCPRO HD FRAMERATE CONVERTER:

  • FCPX Export issue. Item cannot be shared while it is still referencing media on the camera

I am having issues with exporting a project I just shot and I missed my delivery day and am now late. Need help ASAP. I'll try to keep this as brief as possible and stick to the pertinent information.
The Shoot: -2 Panasonic HVX-200's shooting on P2 Media shooting a live event -Dumped footage onto external hard drive via Macbook Pro on set into separate folders for organization using a Panasonic P2 Reader. -All dumps were confirmed completed and all footage accounted for.
The System: -Using Final Cut Pro X 10.1.2 -Mac Pro Tower 2009 quad core running OSX Mavericks 16gb Ram -Blackmagic Intensity Pro Card
The Edit: -2 Camera multicam edit -Imported footage using import media function -Imported from external drive -(important note: a camera has never been connected to the computer for this project) -Edit is finished, about a 2hr 20 min finished sequence (live event 2 cameras switched in post, all graphics and everything is done)
The Problem: -When I go to export via the "Share" function i get an error that says "This Item cannot be shared while it is still referencing media on the camera" -Imported footage has the camera logo in the corner meaning that it is referencing camera media; yet no camera has ever been connected.
Solutions I have tried: -Re-importing media with re-import function --Says that the camera is not connected yet I never had one connected in the first place. -Deleting preferences -Biting the bullet and starting from scratch to do a re-edit -- footage will not import without referencing "camera media" -Tried importing via dragging and dropping. Says it cannot importing the following files, lists all of the XML and MXF files -Started a new event, with a new project, with a fresh import; same results -Googled this to death, no solution seems to work, but I'll try whatever I have to; client needs this ASAP.
Questions: -The external drive is not showing up as a camera, so why is it importing as camera media? -Is there a way to salvage my edit and get it exported? I have a lot of hours into this and quite frankly, no time to redo the whole thing.
    Please help!

I have had this issue too, and figured a work around.  FYI, I rebooted, tried everything imaginable, and still no luck.  I opened up iPhoto, and imported all the video clips into iPhoto.  I then took the missing video from iPhoto, copied it to my desktop.  Then I re-imported the video (same name) into Final Cut. I had to do some slight editing of the video, but everything worked fine, and allowed me to upload the video to YouTube.
Not certain it will work for others, but to recap, try to import the video into another program, then copy the missing video file to your desktop, and re-import to Final Cut.
    Hope this helps.

  • Multicam editing/Tapeless cameras creating gaps

I've shot and edited at least 75 multicam projects with almost no problems. They've all been shot using tape cameras- Panasonic DVX100Bs and later Canon HV40. I've shot in DV or HDV. FCP has beem virtually perfect. I've rarely had problems and I usually use 5-7 cameras. Even when somebody messes up and stops srecording for a couple of seconds it's not that difficult to re-sync one of the shots. Clients have been very happy.
Now I want to purchase a few tapeless cameras, but I'm reading about gaps created in the recordings if you shoot too long. This, of course, would be a big problem because of the syncing problem it would create on multiple cameras. And it's not uncommon for me to shoot 60-plus minutes non-stop.
Has anybody faced this issue after capturing into FCP? What tapeless cameras have you used successfully for multicam work? i.e. no gaps.
    Thanks.

Here's another multicam issue from Canon regarding the use of SDXC cards:
"After repeatedly recording, deleting and editing scenes (fragmented memory), it will take longer to write data on
the memory and recording may stop. Save your recordings and initialize the memory."
    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/camcorders/consumer_camcorders/v ixia_hf_m31#ServiceAndSupport
So after researching for a long time and two visits to B&H, I have concluded the only consumer camera that can- on paper- reliably shoot for more than one hour without any breaks in the recording are Panasonic cameras such as the HDC-HS900. However, you cannont use 1080/60p- the highest quality setting at 28Mbps. You must shoot  in HA mode at 17Mbps.
BTW, my criterion also included a camera with headphone and mic input capability.
I hope this discussion has been useful to those of you who shoot long events. Please post your experience with tapeless cameras and long shoots.
