Multiclip: nothing shows in angle viewer

Hmm, I've used multiclips before without problem, but now I'm stuck. I synced 2 video angles and a separate audio track. Then I added the multiclip to the timeline and opened angle viewer. The angle viewer is blank though--nothing showing. When I click on the timeline and play I see one clip (not in the angle viewer, but in the other view to the right of the angle viewer. Same if I click and play on the multiclip in events, I get playback of one angle but nothing in angle viewer.
I've got 2 angles checked and picture only (I've also tried picture and sound). Using FCP X 10.0.5

I'll try trashing prefs and let you know. I'm attaching a screenshot. Multicam clip is shown bottom left...I double-click on that, and the title of the multiclip shows at top of angle viewer, but nothing there as you can see.

Multicam editing: Can't get blade to show in angle viewer when trying to edit in Timeline

This problem just appeared. I have done lots of multicam editing in FCPX, it works great.
But, today I started on a new video and:
- I created the first multicam clip, it looks fine.
- I created a Project and appended the multicam clip into the Project, it looks fine.
- I see all the Angles in the Angle Viewer, it looks normal.
- I select the Event Browser and hit play, all angles play. I move the curser over an angle and I see a hand, just as I should. everything fine so far.
- I click in the Timeline and hit the space bar and the selected angle and audio start to play..........BUT the angles in the angle viewer do NOT play. Not right.
- With the Timeline still selected, I move the curser over an angle in the angle viewer, and i see the hand, NOT the Blade.
So, FCPX thinks I am still in the Event Browser, even though when I click in the Timeline, the Timeline background color changes to light grey, which says I am in the Timeline. FCPX is not letting me go into the Timeline (even though the background color changes).
I have to be doing something dumb, but I don't see it.
Any suggestions?

Turns out that was EXACTLY the problem --- I kept looking around and finally discovered the problem was that I was NOT in a project (although I thought I was).

What does your document look like? Does it have a large blank space near the top? Does the Print Preview graphic show move than one page to be printed. If so, what's showing for the higher page numbers?

Multiclip angles show black in angle viewer

All of a sudden my Multiclip angle viewer stopped showing angles. All I see are black frames. Everything else works, I can switch angles etc. Trashed the prefs, deleted renders and rebuilt thumbnails but the problem persists. I opened an old tutorial project from Ripple Training and the problem is there as well:
What maybe causing this?
I'm on FCP X 10.0.5 late 2011 MacBook Pro with 16 Gigs of RAM.

I have this problem too, but it's only on certain sections of the project. If I delete the render files, then I can see the clips properly in the angle viewer. But the next time I switch angles or blade the movie (it's not entirely clear or consistent what triggers it) then both the frames in the Angle Viewer go black.
Any thoughts? It's started recently, and I haven't tweaked anything I can think of.

Reopened a multiclip session and 'Program' shows in both Viewer & Canvas ??

Hi Fellow FCPittes, __ ( FCP v5.0.4 on the Q/S dual cpu )
I worked on a small 2 camera multiclip yesterday just fine, but when I opened it today the multiclip loaded immediately into the Viewer, which in itself is strange, and I now have the 'Program' video in both Viewer and Canvas.
When I try to continue editing, as soon as I run it (spacebar in either timeline or Canvas) the 2 camera multiclip in the Viewer disappears and changes to the program video and I can't see the multiclip angles. As soon as I stop, they show up again.
I tried an autosaved version, but it's too far back to be of use (had it set to a/s every 50mins - shortened it now) and I've also tried shutting down and reloading.
If I do a modification to a section, say remove a couple of clips and stretch out a clip, the normal multiclip function returns fine, JUST for that modified area, but returns to the above in the sections not modified...
Tough one, I know - but maybe 'you' have had this problem and know the fix...

Well, there may be some settings to check -
It is possible, and usually desirable to get the viewer to play in sync with the timeline for mutlitclip editing by choosing "open" from the sync dropdown in the viewer. However, you usually have to open the multiclip from the timeline to the viewer first, and then change the sync setting each time you open something new into the viewer.
It should not be possible to open the sequence into the viewer and the timeline/canvas at the same time.
Check the view dropdown in the viewer and make sure it isn't set to Multiclip - 1-up, which would show you only the currently active angle of the multiclip.
If all else fails, trash prefs.

Nothing shows up in the Viewer screen

I am able to import a project, and able to skim thru it, however, the viewer (Right Upper quadrant) remains black, nothing shows up on it. So I am able to skim thru the video but cannot really see adequately the details of the frames etc.
I should mention that I just resolved the issue of the bouncing icon with no launch of iMovie (nothing shows up), and I did that by changing the place for my DivX files & codecs. I'm wondering whether this has something to do with it.
I still have Perian and Flip-4-Mac.

I have similar problem. Imported old short Qt movie (720X576 Integer (Big Endian) into IM8 from Ext HD and I get no skimming in the viewer. I can play in the viewer and fullscreen. But wont skim in the viewer. Leaves a frame of the movie in the viewer, but thats it.

Multicam angle viewer frozen during edit

I'm just starting to edit a three-camera interview with FCPX's otherwise elegent multi-cam edit feature. However as I play the multi-clip in the timeline, the cuts are being effected properly via keystroke, as they should, however the clips in the angle viewer are frozen in place forcing me to guess at where to make the cuts as the timeline runs. I can scrub through the multiclip in the media browser and it moves the three angles then. But they stand still when I try to edit.
I've restarted FCP. I've restarted the computer. I've zapped the PRAM. I've repaired permissions multiple times. I've trashed permissions. I even changed the clip to proxy media. Nothing's working. What up here?

Wow...discussions are finally back! That took a while...
...anyway...I'm sorry. I may have misled with that "This solved my question" but Mr. Wolsky must surely have helped plenty of people without receiving credit so let's just give him this one.
What I meant by that was that it answered my question about migrating a project from one drive to another without messing with my event. (boy I hate this terminology. If anything shouldn't Projects be called Events and vice versa? I think so. Regardless, they're dumb labels) I guess I should have rated it "This helped me."
But no, the freeze has NOT thawed. Even switching to Proxy media did not do the trick. I don't know that the full disc issue ever was in question in this regard anyway; it was just to darn full for any operational purposes. But I also had to move the projects as they were on my system disc. (or, more accurately, a partition thereof) And that didn't help the freeze either.
So I'm still editing blind, sort of. Fortunately it's just an interview. It's easy enough to do it without the footage being viewable in the angles viewer. If it were anything else it would be a much bigger problem, so I hope I can get this fixed soon.

Bookmarks not showing in menu dropdown but still are in url line. When doing the restore feature, it says 807 items but nothing shows up still after.

Earlier today my bookmarks were there. Later tonight, not there.
I've tried the whole restore bookmarks process, I've copied the folder and deleted the places file thing. None of that has worked.
What's weird is if I type something in in the URL box that I know is in my bookmarks, it will show up like it's in the history. But nothing shows up in my bookmarks folder at all.
I need some help on this as I've tried almost every way I've read and nothing has brought them up. And like I said in the title, I have over 800 bookmarks and a lot of them are work related.

Another user had a similar problem a couple of days ago, but was fortunate to have a backup of places.sqlite to restore. See: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/981306 Invisible bookmarks].
When you deleted places.sqlite file and Firefox regenerated your database, it presumably used the most recent backup. I wonder whether the most recent backup contains the same mysterious corruption. Do you want to try recovering from the next older one?
In your profile folder, after exiting Firefox, open the bookmarkbackups folder and move the most recent JSON backup file(s), anything from today, to a safe location (e.g., your Documents folder). Then go back up a level and rename places.sqlite to something like places.wtf.

When you start Firefox, it should rebuild the places database again, this time with that older backup. Any difference?

MARKERS NOT SHOWING ON THE VIEWER

After editing the marker, I can see my notes on the viewer, later they disappear. Sometimes even after I edit it, I write the note, the marker is there but nothing appears on the viewer. When I open the same marker to edit, the note is gone.
Show overlays is on, I don't know what to do.

I can definitely how frustrating it must be to not be able to take pictures or even view pictures that have already been taken with your LG Dare.
Since this problem has started, have you tried to either:
a.) put that memory card in an alternate phone to see if the pictures can be viewed on there
b.) use a card reader/adapter in a computer to see if the pictures can be viewed on the computer
c.) take the memory card out of the phone and then try to take a picture?
What I am trying to determine is which of the 2 is defective (phone or memory card)
If you are able to view pictures in another phone, or on the computer , then you may have a bad card. If that is the case, you can transfer the pictures to the computer and then format the memory card by

Touch SD card & phone storage.
Touch Unmount SD card.

Once you have done the formatting, try to take pictures again. If you continue to have problems it more than likely is the phone.
Also, in order to access PixPlace, log into your MyVerizon account, at the top, you should see "Messaging" go down to "Manage your photo albums" once there, you should see "My Media", however, if you have already received a message advising you that your album would be deleted if you haven't logged on in more than 180 days, all pictures have then most definitely been deleted. Again, we do send warning messages once the online album hasn't been accessed in 150, 175, 180 days respectively prior to deletion.

Has the 10.4 update lost anyone else's angle viewer cut and switch blade cursor?

Yes, all my synced footage is there in the project timeline w/ all functionality in the angle viewer. Did I read the help file wrong, or misinterpret it, where it comes to a live cam shoot, cut and switch editing, where you are not generating a multicam clip in the angle editor but the angle viewer is live, realtime (?) with a project timeline open?
Please advise.

NOthing shows up after iPhoto asked to upgrade thumbnails

iPhoto 6.0.5 asked to upgrade my thumbnails. I told it to go ahead and now NOTHING shows up in my library. All my photos, books, cards, calendars and slideshows are gone. I must have them back. Please help. All of my files are still in my photo library directory. when I try to open each individual file it tells me my files is corrupt. How can I rebuild my library?

No. The photos were the original .tif files I scanned before adding to iPhoto.
It is all very weird. I had mutliple things going on:
- syncing iPod with iPhoto for first time (new 5.5G 30GB iPod)
- iPhoto "upgrading" my thumbnails
- podcast streaming in the background (twit)
I am back to normal after restoring from backup. I still have all of the folders and files from my corrupted iPhoto library and I can view the originals in Preview.

When I launch iWeb, nothing shows up on my screen

When I launch iWeb, it seems to open but then nothing shows up on my screen.

Try the following:
delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.

launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help close iWeb, open iPhoto, select a couple of photos and use the Share ➙ iWeb ➙ Photos Page menu option. It could take a couple of tries if its going to work at all.

Hi, Im not a frequent forum poster, as most of my questions can be found already answered on them!
This is a question Ive had for a long time and it amazes me that no-one else seems to ask it. I check at each OS upgrade but its never there...
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
I was able to do this years ago in MS Outlook, and utilized it all the time when I needed to push things back, now I have to open the event and select an new date in the drop-down calendar for each & every event I want to move to a new month at the end of the month.
If its definitely not possible, how to you ask apple to consider including it - it doesnt seem like a particularly difficult task.

No, but you can use cut/paste. Cut (⌘X) the event, then click on the week where you want to move the event, and Paste (⌘V).
If you have a suggestion for Apple to change that method use: Apple - Mac OS X - Feedback.
