Multilanguage @ Labview 7 Express

Hello .:-)
I'm beginner in LabView. Two weeks ago I received a system with LabView
application as a HMI system for control.
The problem I have is how to implement a switchable second language for all
texts in all VI's.
Please help !
Thanx in advance

    Hello,
    I have not seen this error before, can you attach a screenshot and/or perhaps an error number that accompanied the problem?  In the mean time, here are a couple documents providing solutions to problems others have had with the student edition:

  • Drivers for LabView Express 7.1

    I'm trying to install Labview 7 Express (Student Edition) on Windows XP. It comes with 2 CDs - one labeled version 7.1 and one labeled version 7.0. When trying to install 7.1 I get a message asking for the driver CD, which wasn't included. I found info for version 7.0, and found the 7.0 driver cd download on the ftp site, but I can't find anything for 7.1. Are they the same? I can't seem to find the info I need in the knowledge base or elsewhere on the NI site.
    What about 7.1.1 - does that use the same drivers as 7.1?
    Thanks for any insight you can offer.

    Drivers are completely seperate from and non-essential to LabVIEW. You can simply install them on an "as needed" basis if you like. LabVIEW versions 7.0 and 7.1 are independent releases of LabVIEW and should install just fine on their own. We do not ship one with the other, so if you seem to have both of them, then perhaps they got mixed together. In contrast, LabVIEW 7.1.1 is an upgrade (dependent on LabVIEW 7.1 being installed), but I would not install it unless you are experiencing one of the bugs that the upgrade fixes (check the release notes if you're curious what those are). For a first-time install, I would recommend simply installing LabVIEW 7.1, and when you get to the drivers section, simply exit out of the install. Then, depending on what hardware you will be using with LabVIEW, I would download the latest drivers from our website (which are often times newer than those shipped on CD) and install them individually.

  • NI myDAQ pour interfaçage labview solidworks

    salut

    Cordialement

  • Data chopping in Labview Express

    When I use a custom scale to display the output from 2 pressure devices that I am reading, the data gets chopped at 750 kPa. When I read the data with no scale (volts), the data is not chopped. The output of the transducers is about 2.4 VDC @ 750 kPa, and I have terminal configuration set to differential mode. Any ideas?
    Ni USB 6008

    Hi Aaron,
    I have taken a look into you issue and based on the information you have provided this issue could arise because you are working with a custom table scale. The data must fit within the bounds of your table because your scale will not be extrapolated. You can expand your table scale beyond 750kPa to your maximum or change to a polynomial scale if you can create a function to represent what you have in your table. You also have to make sure that you are setting the correct limits for your scaled units in your DAQmx task.
    You can export your scale and post it if you are still having issues. The following link will show you how it can be exported.

  • Vibe X2 CU Multilanguage support and GAPPS?

    Hi all,
    Has anyone heard about multilanguage and GAPPS support for Vibe X2 CU for Android Lolipop? We have to choose either dual sim or multilanguage - gapps support. And why can't we have both at the same time? These are very common features , all other brands have dual sim models without any lack of features of original version. I really did not understand why we are forced to make a choise? Vibe X2 is the most stylish phone ever made. Really sorry , lack of dual sim out of China is a bad decision...

    Hi Vrony
    This forum generally deals with the ROW International Lenovo devices.Information on CN only devices is limited.The Lenovo X2-CU is the Chinese/CU=China Unicom version.The ROW models are the X2-EU and X2-AP(market dependent)
    As far as I know THIS are the X2-CU specs.

  • Event Acquisition in LabView Signal Express

    I have the USB-6009 data logger and LabView Express. I am trying to record certain events as they happen in the process. The signal I am recording is a 0 or 10 V DC signal and each time that signal goes to 10V DC I want to record that as a event. I am not worried about the actual voltage just the event. I am not sure what the best way would be to set this up in LabView signal express. Any advice on how to achieve this.

    Hi CoryB,
    In SignalExpress you can create events by in the Recording Options tab clicking Events. Then, in the Category list select Add. From here, you can change the options for the event. Here is a link to the help on the events page.
    Also, Dennis is absolutely correct. You will get better assistance with your questions if you post in the correct board.

  • LabVIEW Signal Express, averages

    Hello,
    I'm brand new to LabVIEW. I have a temperature signal  from a thermocouple up in LabVIEW express, and I'm trying to get an average of this signal because it's very noisy. Can anyone provide me with very detailed help (as I'm brand new, and have no idea how to do anything in LabVIEW).
    If it's of any help, I have LabVIEW 8.5 and LabVIEW Signal Express 2.5.1. Thank you!

    Hello ddrop,
    To add to Intelligent's post, here is another example to show you how to create a running average of an array.  I am not sure how you have your measurements recorded (if you are creating an array), but this example should give you some added guidance.
    You mentioned you were using Signal Express and there are a set of Signal Express examples that may also be helpful.  You can find the examples by going to Help>>Open Example...  This should take you here: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\SignalExpress\Examples.  From there, you can go to Loops>>Frequency Sweep with Averaged Measurement.seproj. While this example does not do exactly what you are doing, it will at least give you an idea of how to do averaging in Signal Express.  Another way to incorporate the averaging in Signal Express would be to do a Run LabVIEW VI step.  I hope this helps!

  • What is he order of installion for the labview 7.1 cd's

    I aqm trying to install labview 7.1, everytime I try to install one thing, it tells me I need to install something else to intall all the features of that item. There must be some sequence you are supposed to follow, do you install the one labeled Labview & express first, or measurement studio first, or do you instal the drivers first, or what, Please help

    You first have to install the CD labeled LabVIEW. When you have choosen there to install device drivers you are prompted to insert the Device drivers CD 1. Dependend which components you have choose you are prompted to insert the device drivers CD 2.
    If you plan to install modules and/or the Measurement Studio together with LV I would first install LV and deselect the device drivers, next all LV modules and at last Measurement Studio. This should give to the following CD sequence: LV, LV modules, Measurement Studio, Device Driver CD1 and Device Driver CD2. After that install any toolkits.

  • Online Labview evaluation: opening my files

    Hi,
    it seems that I can not open previous version Labview files (6 ver) in either online evaluation Labview Express 7 (it seems it gives me just remote directories) or downloaded version (it says that files are not signed). I don't recall that I had to do the signing before and of course my previos files are not signed.
    Can you advise me what to do to see my previous files?
    Thanks,
    Gordana

    Hello Gordana,
    The online evaluation version of LabVIEW is housed on remote servers and is not capable of opening files from a local machine.
    The issue with the downloaded version of LabVIEW giving an unsigned message is probably due to it being installed in LabVIEW player mode. In LabVIEW player mode only specific, signed demonstration VIs can be opened. You can turn it into an evaluation version by reinstalling it and choose eval mode.
    Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Can express vi handle large data

    Hello,
    I'm facing problem in handling large data using express vi's. The input to express vi is a large data of 2M samples waveform & i am using 4 such express vi's each with 2M samples connected in parallel. To process these data the express vi's are taking too much of time compared to other general vi's or subvi's. Can anybody give the reason why its taking too much time in processing. As per my understanding since displaying large data in labview is not efficient & since the express vi's have an internal display in the form of configure dialog box. Hence i feel most of the processing time is taken to plot the data on the graph of configure dailog box. If this is correct then Is there any solution to overcome this.
    waiting for reply
    Thanks in advance

    Hi sayaf,
    I don't understand your reasoning for not using the "Open Front Panel"
    option to convert the Express VI to a standard VI. When converting the
    Express VI to a VI, you can save it with a new name and still use the
    Express VI in the same VI.
    By the way, have you heard about the NI LabVIEW Express VI Development Toolkit? That is the choice if you want to be able to create your own Express VIs.
    NB: Not all Express VIs can be edited with the toolkit - you should mainly use the toolkit to develop your own Express VIs.

  • Finding an example to run on labview 7 w/6025E

    We bought a 6025E, have the Labview 7 Express eval SW. It appears that we can only modify existing code so it appears to us that we have to find a suitable example to run on our system. (OT we spent a lot of time looking for something called DIO Port 2.vi for one of the examples)
    DOes anyone out there have example code that we can use to evaluate labview 7 and the 6025E?
    Many thanks for reading, more of course for any assistance......
    Rob Roy

    "Hello JDesRosier;
    Yes, we have purchased a 6025E card and want to evaluate which application (Labview Express or LabWindows) to purchase. Our plan is to use the demo of labview 7 express first to develop a simple test, and then use the labwindows demo to develop and evaluate the same test. This would give us a good feel (we thought) for which product we want to purchase. Our problem appears to be that without a license (Labview or LabWindows) we can only modify an existing task, channel, or scale according the measurement explorer. We are not sure what that (Message from ME) really means except that we are left to wonder what it means not having experience with the products.
    We need an example program that we can use directly or modify for the 60
    25E card that will give us a sense of what the test programming will be like in Labview 7 express. Our test scenario is to set a state, read our inputs, wait a period of time, change state, read our inputs, wait a period of time. We would like to use a spread sheet form to control the output states and compare the input states against, as well as set the period of time for each state. Setting a state includes setting the direction register for those ports or bits that can be set. If this is an easy demo or if it already exists in a state that we should be able to use and evaluate then please point us to the right location or source.
    Our operating system is Windows XP Pro, internet connected, and can be set to host for GOTOMYPC or Windows remote assistance should there be an active interest in getting us going. We have a contractor in house whose job it was to set up a demo test but we are afraid that we shackled his efforts by not having the software already purchased. Is this a f
    air assumption?
    Your thoughts, assistive actions, and criticism is welcome.
    Sincerely,
    Rob Roy

  • How 2 better build this Expression?

    As you can see in the code below a null means don't use this object in the criteria. Conditionally building an Expression like this is rather cumbersome. There has got to be a better way to do this!
    ExpressionBuilder builder = new ExpressionBuilder();
    Expression expression = null;
    if (name != null) {
    expression = builder.get("name").equal(name);
    if (age != null) {
    if (expression == null) {
    expression = builder.get("age").equal(age);
    else {
    expression = expression.and(builder.get("age").equal(age));
    Collection persons = null;
    if (expression == null) {
    session.readAllObjects(Person.class);
    else {
    session.readAllObjects(Person.class, expression);

    One thing that may help is that expression.and will allow you to pass in null (just returns the expression).
    So...>>
    ExpressionBuilder builder = new ExpressionBuilder();
    Expression expression = null;
    if (name != null) {
    expression = builder.get("name").equal(name);
    if (age != null) {
    expression = (builder.get("age").equal(age)).and(expression);
    Collection persons = session.readAllObjects(Person.class, expression);
    You can also use query by example, which makes simple queries much simpler.

  • How do i stop a while loop

    I'm new to labview and I'm having a problem stopping a while loop (running windows XP/2000 with the student edition of labview express 7).
    I'm doing a data acquisition program where I'm constantly reading in voltage and comparing it to a set point value, when the input voltage goes above the set point, i want the while loop to stop. How do I do this? I already have an LED going on when the criteria is met, but I'm not sure how to actually stop the loop (i.e. change the iteration value from true to false-i guess). If anyone can please assist me with this I would very much appreciate it.
    I've included my program too.
    Attachments:
    CO_Detection_Monitoring_System_Modified.vi ‏60 KB

    Hello Everyone-
    I've just posted a message about stopping a while loop and it was answered accurately and quickly- thanks to LV_Pro and PauloM- thanks much- its nice too see that there are many helpful people out there! Unfortunately, I have 2 more questions to ask of the forum.
    My application is almost completed- I just need to add an elapsed time counter that will tell me how long it took for my LED to trigger (from my set point-i.e. when from 0:00:00 until when my loop stopped).
    Now I've found a perfect elapsed time counter on the NI web site contributed from Mike Hall from Ohmeda Medical- the page is here.... http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niepd_web_display.display_epd4?p_guid=D37E2493DC333076E034080020E74861&p_node=DZ52032&p_source=external
    So my first question is, it looks like I can just extend the while loop box in my 'CO detector... .vi' and paste just the code from the 'elapsed time.vi' while loop into my loop and I will be set- but do I need to change my wait until next multiple to be a 1000 too in my program? Probably, but I'm not sure hence the question- or other ideas would appreciated.
    My second question is now that my application is complete (after I add the elapsed time above), I need to exactly duplicate this process for 7 other DAQ inputs (i.e. right now I'm using only 1 of 8 analog inputs on the FP-AI110). So should I make my 'CO detector.. .vi' a separate program (I remember reading something about this in one of the posts earlier).
    Any help is very appreciated.
    Thank you again,
    Daniel

  • Insert a directory path and file name option

    I built a program that runs three tasks when a voltage triggers the data acquisition. I would like now to insert an option/control for two issues: selection of the directory where the data will be saved, and selection of the file name. How can I do this such that after I press 'start' I should be asked which is the directory where I want the data to be saved and then what is the file name?
    Another option would be the following: After I press 'Start' I will have a control where I can write or browse for the folder where I want to save the data; then I have another controller where I write the new file name. So in this case I should not be prompted except the case when I am trying to use the same file name.
    Where should I con
    nect this new subvi in my loop - before the tasksand before the trigger, or after the tasks and before the trigger?
    Thank you.

    Programming with LabVIEW might be fun but it is quite time consuming
    OK, here is what I want to do.
    I have to monitor a machining process. I have to record cutting forces, power consumed, vibrations, and temperature. From each of these sensors I get a voltage as output and I used Measurement and automation and NI-DAQmx to program my tasks (I have LabVIEW Express running in Windows XP).
    The triggering of DAQ is generated by the input of a 4.5V DC when the CNC program starts; the stop occurs when CNC program ends and the output voltage becomes 0V. I have finished all the connections and now I have to build the vi.
    The small picture could be described this way:
    I want to record the parameters and save them in files that I could process later using specific vi.
    The big picture would be the following:
    I would like to build a stand alone program that will do the following: when I run the program [ i. e. double-click the shortcut (or the file)] a panel should come up in the center of the screen in this panel I would like to be able to select what process am I going to investigate: grinding, turning, milling, drilling, tapping etc.
    Once I selected what process I am going to investigate, the front panel of a vi should come up In this panel I should be able to select what parameters I am going to record: forces, power, vibrations, and temperature. On the front panel I should be able to see the waveform of the acquired data. A start/stop button and a led green/red for each parameter should show me the status of the acquisition (green is on, red is off). The start/stop button should allow me to manually start or stop the program at any time. Additionally, on the front panel I should also have icons with a choice for directory (folder) path, file name, and comments regarding the experiment. The date and time should be recorded in the file that is saved. There should be an option (check box or selection icon) for saving the data in binary or ASCII format.
    Similar to any program, the front panel should have a toolbar containing File, Operate and Help options. The File option should contain Clear graphs, Setup DAQ and Exit and the Operate option should contain: Use digital alarm, Use digital trigger, and Write data to disk with the option to be selected or deselected. The main front panel should close when I select File -> Exit.
    The File -> Setup DAQ selection should bring up another front panel in which I should be able to see the acquisition control panel (device, channels to get, buffer size, units English or metric) and the calibration factors (for the tasks, including triggering voltage) including sampling rate.
    Well, thats almost all. I understand I cannot do this all at once. Unfortunately, I have a very close due date in getting the system up and ready. I am hoping that I could get some help setting up a simple program and I could develop the rest step by step later...
    Can anybody help me with this program? I have attached a first attempt that would allow automatic triggering and stopping as well as displaying of forces, power and acceleration.
    Thank you in advance.
