Multilevel BOM Explosion

Hi All,
I am using one Function Module "CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2" for multilevel BOM
explosion.
Input parameters for Function Module..
1. Finished Goods(Material)
2. Application.
3. Explosion Date
4.Plant
5.BOM Usage.
6. Alternate BOM.
Output we are intresetd in
1.MNGKO..Our assumption was this qty is the final actual qty .....which comes after multiplicatio at all level...
But in some case we find this qty as 0...
Can any one please help in understanding the standard FM ..

Report for Cost of Multiple products with Multilevel BOM explosion

Hi,
Our client has a requirement of a report showing standard cost estimate of multiple FG products, with multi-level BOM explosion.
In short, the requirement is to get a CK13N report for multiple products.
Has anyone come across such requirement? The requirements seems to be very normal.
But, I have not seen any standard report for the same. If there is any, please suggest.
or suggest a better solution for the same.

I totally agree with you that this is a totally vague requirement.
However, let me share the reason for such client requirement.
We have a customer, for which we produce certain parts for select models. Now, the arrangement with customer for pricing is based on the raw material and other production cost for all such parts. Based on the fluctuations in cost, the pricing would be finalised.. on a monthly or quarterly basis.
For this purpose, the customer requires to know the raw materials used in each of the part.
Individually it could have been managed. But the price change in terms of % is decided at global level and not for each part.
Please suggest

Display multilevel BOM for multiple materials

Hi,
I am to trying to display multilevel BOM explosion for multiple BOMs valid to custom date. Then I would like to export this list of all components to Excel.
Best solution would be if to create QuickView to do this.
So far I have been able to Join tables MAST - STPO, this shows me only one level of BOM (sort of like CS03 transaction) not a multilevel view (CS12). Is it possible to modify this to display multilevel view?

Dear Thomas,
in order to have a multilevel Bom explosion you must use only fm : CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 because you won't succeed to have a multiplevel with a simple query.
I advise you set MEHRS = X for active multilevel logic.

Multilevel variant configuration without BOM explosion

Hi!
We have the following problem:
We use BOMs with variant configuration in SD and NO BOM explosion. Means, enter the BOM-head material in the SD line, go to the configuration screen and configure the multilevel BOM. There are classes and attributes on every level in the multilevel BOM structure.
After finishing the variant configuration, we save the SD order. If we enter the new SD order again with VA03 and go to the configuration of the SD line, the system forgot every attribute value on levels other than the BOM-head. We see the structure of the selected BOM materials, but no previously entered configuration value on other levels.
Do we make something wrong, or is this a SAP standard "feature" ?

Hi,
This is a standard feature.The values which you will select for the configurable material,you will not able to see when you got to VA03.

Multilevel sales BOM explosion

for example: 1 finished products
2 semifinished assigned to it
1 raw material is assigned to 2 semifinished.

BOM explosion in Sales order with material variants

Dear all,
we would like to work with Variant Matching in the Sales Order. Additionaly we would like to explode the BOM....according to the SAP help this is not possible....

Hi,
I have gonethrough the SAP link referred by you but never come across with any problem in type matching during Sales order even if the BOM explosion is set for Multilevel in Configuration Profile provided the other pre requisite set up was perfect.

BOM explosion in VA01

Hi,
I am working with IS-retail and I have created a BOM for commercial use. When I enter the material in the item level of the sales order the system triggers the explosion of the BOM. Everything is ok except the number of items created. The BOM has 5 positions and in the order 9 subposition are generated.
Any idea? Maybe it is a material master problem cause there is one material that is not being duplicated but I do not see relevant differences!!

Hi,
please check that if you have multilevel bom maintained.So it can be possible that one of your sub item in BOM is also exploded.
also check the BOM in cs03 for the sub items and the object dependencies attached to that.

BOM Explosion problem

Hi,
I have multilevel BOM (almost 10 levels with around 1500 materials), in which many materials repeat at different levels.
I am facing problem in one of the material during MRP, This material is used at 10 different levels. Altogether to produce a FG it requires in 36 numbers. In different levels quantity of it required is different. Say 8,1,4,2 etc but total qty is 36.
When MRP is run the requirement generated for this material is same at all levels i.e 36(total qty) / 10 (BOM levels) = 3.6
But actually system must generate requirements as per BOM quantity. Not sure what is wrong.

Below is the little knowledge i have which want to share with all the august people around.Hope it would be helpful enough for you to get the results.
A BOM is not exploded in the following situations:
- No BOM is effective:
-- On the explosion date and in the given area of validity
For the given effectivity parameters
- The BOM has a deletion indicator.
- The BOM is a multiple BOM, and has no alternative that matches the lot size for your required quantity.
- No BOM matches the selection criteria of the BOM application you selected.
- This is possible in the following situations, for example:
-- The application does not take all BOM usages into account.
For example, the application only takes BOMs that are relevant to production into account, so a BOM that is relevant to sales and distribution is not exploded.
-- The application selects a specific alternative on the explosion date you require. The material master record supports alternative determination by Explosion date.
If the specified alternative is not valid on the explosion date, the BOM is not exploded.
-- The application takes production versions in the material master record into account, but no production version has a BOM that is valid on the explosion date you require. The material master record supports alternative determination by Production version.
The system only explodes the BOM defined for the production version that matches the alternative and/or usage entered on the explosion date required.
-- The application only takes BOMs with certain status indicators into account.
For example, the application for MRP only explodes BOMs that have at least the status Explosion for MRP.
Further checks:
- Do the proper Scheduling in Routing (Backward/forward). In md61 give the requirement in next month.check your in-house production, planned delivery time in md02 give MRP Control parameter Rexplode BOM and Routing.
- Check BOM explosion data in MRP4 view of material master view ( Individual/Coll data).

We are makinga Z report in which a part of the information is about the multilevel BOM.
Now i need to show all the components in the multilevel BOM along with their BOM levels (something like CS11).Can anyone please suggest the tables for the same

Check with this Functional Module, CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 BOM explosion for material in SE37,for developing the report.
But again the input quantity for this report should be limited because if the input amount is more means,the report may take much
time to execute the multi-level BOM report for the given material codes.
Check and revert back.

BOM Explosion control based on Procurement type

Gurus ,
We have a scenario where we have a Multilevel BOM . During one point of time there is a chnce that one SFG ehich is "E" type gets converted manual into an "F" type due to some practical reasons (I know F part shud not have a BOM). Users do not delete or inactivate the BOM of this SFG(which has now become F part) . As a consequence it impacts a report for CUSTOMS wherein a multilevel BOM is exploded for HEADER and reports all the F parts. The result expected is list of all F parts
EXAMPLE we have FG1 , with Components RM1 and SFG1 .(This SFG1 was [previosly having componets RM1,RM2 and RM3) .
Scenario 1- if SFG1 was with procurement E , then result iof report after exploding FG1 would be RM1,RM2 and RM3.
Scenario 2: If SFG1 got converted to F part , then result of report after exploding FG1 should be RM1,SFG1
Is there a way to control BOM multilevel explosion for only E parts so that BOMs for F parts donot get exploded)
Ie, BOM application etc...

Need FM to bring BOM explosion and quantity

I'm using FM CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 to bring BOM explosion, but this function doesn't return the correct quantity like VA01 when I enter the main material and its order quantity.
Does someone know any other function to explode BOM material and return each quantity, depending the main material order quantity entered?
My codes are:

Hi a®s,
The only difference in putting MEHRS ='X'. is the function returns multilevel of part list. The function still doesn't return the quantity based on main material order quantity like VA01 (salesorder create) does.

Multi level BOM explosion

Hi,
For multilevel BOM explode I have to use the "Functional Module" CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2. I checked it in system but I didnt understand which input parameters I need to give (Which are mandatory) as ther are lot of input fields available.
Please suggest whether this Functional Module is fine OR there is any other way? also suggest about the input field data.

Function module CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 is used for BOM explosion for a given material. It belongs to function group CSS4 u2013 BOM explosions. This function module can explose multi-level BOM with a given validation date.
You need to specify necessary input parameters to call this function module, such as CAPID u2013 App ID, DATUV u2013 Validation date, MEHRS u2013 Multi-level, MTNRV u2013 Material number, STLAL u2013 alternate, STLAN u2013 BOM usage.
Some useful tables you can provide to your ABAPer and discuss the same .
TABLES: MARA,                               "Master Data
        MAKT,                               "Matl Desc.
        MARC,                               "Plant Data for Matl.
        MAST,                               "Bom to material link
        STKO,                               "Bom Header

BOM Explosion for Multiple Process Orders

Hi,
I hope someone can assist me with the following: Is there a report I can run or transaction I can do to have BOM explosion for multiple Process Orders? I would like to input process orders for a week and see the BOM details per PO.

1.For this requirement you have to go for a Z report and you can give the Functional Spec's to prepare
this report to your ABAP consultant.Prepare the input format,logic of the program and the output format.
In the logic part you can make use of this Functional Modules's CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ or
CSEP_MAT_BOM_READ or CS_BOM_EXPLOSION or CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 .
2.Using CEWB helps you to identify all the material that's having the BOM,but here the report does not
shows you the level by level by BOM for a FERT.
Check and revert back.

BOM Explosion needed on PO and/or Delivery for Stock Transfer PO Process

I have been researching the SDN and web for a solution to my problem to no avail so far.
The business problem I need to solve is the requirement for our STPO process to explode certain BOM's that are transfered from one company/plant to another company/plant in order to record batch/serial # component information by the delivering plant on the delivery and verification of the batch/serial # in the receiving plant during MIGO processing of the delivery. This is needed by our Service Mgmt department in order to track servicable items within the Finished Good (medical devices industry).
It appears on the SDN that a BOM can not be exploded on a non-Subcontracting PO (which would be ideal for us), but barring this problem, we are trying to have the BOM explode in the Delivery created from the STPO via the VL10B transaction.
The STPO generates a Delivery doc with type NLCC and item category NLC. I have maintained the material master for the BOM material to have an Item Category Group of ERLA, and I have modified Item Category Determination in configuration in Logistics Execution for deliveries to include ERLA, usage V, and NLC as default item category. But, the deliveries generated from the STPO still do not explode, like what normally happens if the delilvery of the BOM was created from a standard Order.
The components for the BOM need to be displayed on the Delivery (if not the STPO), so the cleark can record the Batch/Serial #'s for each component. Then when the receiving plant posts the Goods Receipt for the delivery a user exit we have (based on movement type and material document code) builds a Service Mgmt table that is then processed to De-install the BOM and components from the former plant and install the BOM and components at the receiving plant (and then subsequently at the ultimate customer's location when a normal sale is made), generating a new Functional Location.
Has anyone here had to do anything like this before? Would any of you have any ideas on how this BOM explosion might work on the PO or Delivery?
