MULTILINGUAL FORMS IN FORMS 4.5

Hi , I developed a system in Portuguese language , in Brazil . But now i need to export this system to others countries. I'm very happy with this but my ideas about how to do it is very poor .
Here are my ideas :
1.I have to create tables with an identification of every Text Field that I'll have in any forms . In the forms instead of create Text Fields I'll read this table and fill de Text Field before show to user .
How will be the execution time ?
2.I could create diferents Block in the forms for each language that I'll need . Depending on language I'll show the correct block .
I'd like to receive others ideas better than mine . Please if you could help me .
Thanks in advance ,
Lourival

You might want to look at a product called Oracle Translation Manager. This tool eases the translation and can be done for as many languages as you want. Moreover, it has got its own Configuration manager tool in it.
Hope this helps

  • Creating multilingual forms

    Hi there,
I have created a number of dynamic forms using livecycle designer which are being sucessfully used in our organisation.
As we are a global organisation I now want to implement these forms in other global offices, however we require the forms to be sent to our UK office in English for review. I have 2 questions:
    1. Is there a way to build into a dynamic PDF form a function where you can select the language which in turn displays and all the fields in the form in the relevant language?
    2. Is there any way of easily translating the information that is entered into a form from another language into English at the click of a button using a finction within the form? If not can anybody recommend any translation software that is compatable with adobe reader?
    Many thanks
    Lee

    Hi,
    here's a sample for a multilingual form.

  • Nice!  Multilingual forms?

Nice work, guys.  I've been evaluating this APTT for a couple of days and it's working pretty well.
I'm just wondering about support for multi-lingual forms, including non-ASCII characters.
There is a line in the System requirements, "While ATTP is only provided in English, it may be run in all multilingual and localized environments".  I'm not sure exactly what this means, but I'm not expecting ATTP to be translated I'm merely expecting it to return the non-English texts from my form.
My non-English labels are not 7-bit ASCII clean, so I end up with CheckPoints in QTP that test caption.value.text.value for "Français" rather than the form's value "Français", etc.
This looks very much like an encoding problem, but I haven't found a way to sync up the encoding between the form and QTP, either programmatically or manually.  I've looked through the XFA specs, etc.  I'm testing an XML dynamic form using Adobe Reader (no browser), and the form's font (from its properties) is MyriadPro, encoding: Ansi.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Brent

    Hi John,
I was bitten again recently by the comparator's character-encoding bug.
Even if we restrict the data-set to English only, that still doesn't prevent our expected data from containing non-ASCII characters.
Has there been any feedback on a workaround or a fix?

  • Multilingual Forms and Reports

I'm looking for a tool, which can add multilingual capability to forms and reports. I found only one, called OraMuLaS.
Is there anyone who can tell me something about this tool?

    Hello Frank,
thanks for your help. But if I understand it correctly, the translation hub has some limitaions:
    - you'll need to deploy your application on WEB - no client/server
    - any translation made, generates a seperate forms module; you can't use the same module for different languages
    - if you need to a new translation, you need to build a new form module with the translation hub
    - you can't change translations on the fly (during runtime)
So I think the oramulas tool might be better!?
You can find it under www.fairsys.de.
I did not test it now. So can't tell any experience for now.

  • Multilingual form

    hi all
i have to make a forms-web-application for 2 different languages.
does forms support something to realise this?
i don't want to copy all the forms and replace the text.
a.e. on a jsp i can include a 'language-file' corresponding to the browser-settings. the language-file contains rows of type: varName = value; the browser uses the right file by itself.
the language must not be set by the browser. i could assign a language to each user and use this instead of the browsersettings.
    any hints?

    Stefan,
actually you are right that it is not the best way for a tool to enforce a specific character set to be used. The problem is that teh TranslationHub desing operates on ASCII characters and no binaries, which means that a changed character set in teh database will garbage all data input by TranslationHub. We are working on addressing this in the future in a complete new development basing it on UTF8.
TranslationHub is the productization of a tool internally used to translate Oracle own products and as such we did not have a choice to handle thus restriction. So for the time being you would have to create a database instance that uses teh required character set. As said, I know that this is poor, but we cannot fix it in teh current TranslationHub release.

  • Multilingual forms

I need to create a form in Hindi language. How to achieve this? Please help

Nothing specially needed to develop except Hindi font installed on the development machine.
However in order to view the form, the end users must have installed Adobe Reader Extended Languages font support pack.

  • Restricting data entry to a particular language in the form

    Hi,
I created a multilingual form in which all the fields of the form are in a particular language . Now am trying to restrict data entry in the form to that language at the client side only . Say if it is a form in french, can we restrict the data entry to french only .  The approach i was trying to implement was adding a script against the change event of all data fields and see if the characters lie in the range of  the language unicode character set . But have not been successful in it yet . Can anybody help me find some way or provide any sample for it ?
    Thanks

    Hello, I'm German
Probably you can restrict the characters used for text entry, so for example ü is allowed in the German form but not in French.
But you will NEVER be able to restrict the users staying only writing French in French forms 100%.
    1) You sometimes, not often, do encounter letters that are not typical for the language. (Though it can appear in any kind of word, it's quite regular for names.)
    2) Let's say I fill the French form. I encounter a problem when I type in the word "Müller". This word wouldn't be French at all. The text will be delted and probably given an error message. Well... I learn out of this error message. Next time I'll type Mueller. ^^
(I knew several pages were people were restricted to talk English by forbidding letters that were not used in English very often... That didn't stop us violating that rule. The only error that really bugged us wasn't the restriction in not using letters that don't exist in English but the "please don't swear or insult so." error that kept appearing for ex. when we used the German word for "that" (= "dass"). They just didn't like the last 3 letters.)
    3) Many countries have the same or include other countries unicodes. For example English could be written in the German form or in the French form.
    4) You can't get out the syslanguage as far as I know. This would be a great hint which language the person is using.
    5) I don't think you can use the spellcheck in any way... great violation against spellchecking could also be a hint for another language.
I know a quite big internetcommunity which did try to accomplish the same as you do. After about 2 years and a lot of experiments they stopped their efforts and were content by popping up the random error-messages warning that you don't have to insult, just like those other communities mentioned above. ^^ (Though they tried to restrict the insulting parts to the language used that didn't work out. Too many people knew how to insult in other languages ;D or which words were similar to insults.)
People just never do what they are supposed to do and are quite nasty finding workarounds...
My advice to you would be:
    Don't make the effort.
Sorry for not being able to provide you with a solution, but the opposite.

  • Multilingual support in MDM

    Hi All,
Can multilingual support in MDM convert one language to another language automatically or
Do we need to enter the data in each language manually in MDM?
Can anyone tell me about this future in MDM?
    Thanks
    Narendra

    Hi Narendra,
Can multilingual support in MDM convert one language to another language automatically or
Do we need to enter the data in each language manually in MDM?
MDM can import data into Multilingual forms. If you have data present in various langauges, then you can make your reposiotry as multilingual.
After properly importing the data, You will find the values present in the various languages as present in the Data Manager under the Language Detail Tab.
This process can be done importing and does not require manual intervention.
However, it cannot convert 1 language into other. It can only take in if data is present in different languages.
    Hope it helps.
    *Kindly reward points if helpful

  • Localize (multilingual , bilingual) error messages in out of the box (OOTB) new / edit item form.

In a multilingual environment am using variation. I have 3 sites root site, English site and Arabic.
All my lists are in root site with one condition I need to use out-of-the-box forms for data entry. My problem is when I try to insert an item in root web list, it will display English version of new item form.
I cannot duplicate entry forms for each language, because if a new field is added in list I need to translate and update all the forms manually.

I'm missing how your question is related to Microsoft Office? What kind of a solution is this (so that I know which forum to move the question to)?

  • Multilingual Applicaion(runtime) in forms 9i

I am developing form in Oracle forms 9i release 2.0.
Operating system : Windows 2000 Professinal English version
Database is Oracle 9i with unicode
nls_lang parameter is set to "American_America.UTF8"
    Form is run with OC4J
when designing form , create Label type some text & set font to

But when run form , in Internet Explorer , it shows that text in English Only.
    - Vijay Desai

No, there is no built in mechanism for re-laying out the screen at runtime. That does not stop you from writing your own though. You have pretty much everything you need in the various set__Property built-ins to change field position, sizes and fonts.

  • Problem with transfering unicode form data in MULTIPART/FORM-DATA

    HI experts,
I have this web based multilingual application. Page 1(form6.jsp) is basic registeration form with 5 fields and one image upload to the server. Page 2(verify.jsp) is another jsp page for verification of UTF data entered in page 1.
page 2 (verify.jsp) also uses a bean called (verify.java) for picking up values. page 3(insertEntry.jsp) is the page for inserting that data into the Database and uses a bean called (logicbean.java).
Now, the problem im facing here is that if i use multipart/form-data, the unicode text filled in page1 is shown as garbage when its is transfered to page2 and displayed on page2. It is all gibberish. But if i do not use multipart/form-data, the unicode text transfered from page1 to page2 is displayed perfectly on page2.Im using devenagari(UTF) language for filling in details.

I have narrowed down the problem to the point where i understand that the "request.getParameter()" function for multipart is not able to understand or read UTF data properly. The out.println prints garbage from this function on the console. im using WAS
    plz help
    thanx in advance
