Multimedia Controller driver?

I lost the driver disk to that came with my k7n2 delta (nforce2) main board.  I went to the msi website and downloaded when I thought were the right drivers. Every device was found and installed except for a Multimedia controller and a multimedia video controller.
Does anyone know where to get the correct drivers.
The driver package I downloaded off the msi web site was as follows

Thanks for any help in advance

Was this system setup using a clean install of XP wit SP2 or an upgrade to SP2?
I've seen a lot of problems with just doing an upgrade to SP2. Any time 1 of my customers ask me about upgrading to SP2 I tell them to get the lastest drivers for all thier hardware, back up all important files to disk, then do a clean install of XP with SP2.
If all you have is a cd for XP, there is a way to slipstream SP2 into XP and make a new cd that'll install cleanly. Then all you have to do is install all your hardware drivers.
Here's my favorite site for slistreaming SP2, http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm
It shows you how to do it using Roxio or Nero with the net download of SP2. I did it with the SP2 cd that I was able to obtain from MS. All I had to do was modify the run command line.

  • ShuttleXpress Multimedia Controller Driver Issue?

I wanted to get a dedicated media controller to use as my volume/track/play/pause/mute control, and bought a ShuttleXpress Multimedia Controller for this purpose. Unfortunately, it doesn't work out of the box and I don't have much experience dealing with driver issues.
When I plug it in via USB, I see that it gets recognized, but I don't think evdev knows what to do with it. Running xev does not show it generating any keycodes, nor does dropping to the console and running showkey.

I've done some searching around, and found a few resources but am not 100% sure how to proceed. It looks like this PowerMate Driver might have some support, but I wasn't sure how I'd add it to my system. I've also read that it is supported elsewhere, like LinuxCNC, Kdenlive, and there's some work for it on Android for the Nook.
Any advice on what my next steps should be?

Awesome! I'll definitely take a look. I had pretty much given up on making the controller useful and worked around my setup in a different manner. Using it for audio control is exactly what I wanted, so I will absolutely revisit things. Thank you for posting this update!

  • F2 button not booting PC into recovery mode and Multimedia Controller error in device manager.

    Hello everyone,
I updated my lenovo ideacentre b540p from windows 7 home premium to windows 8.1 pro. I have two issues that came up after the upgrade.
    1. I can no longer access the Lenovo rescue system 3.0 by pressing the F2 button during startup to boot into recovery mode which was possible when I was using windows 7 and because of this I am unable to install the software and drivers that came with the PC.
    2. In device manager the multimedia controller driver is not installed. It shows a yellow sign in the other devices group. I have tried different version from the lenovo support site but none of them work. The PC was shipped without a CD containing the drivers but if I can access the rescue system, I believe I will find the driver I need for the multimedia controller.

It's Windows 8 related, but you'll better understand what may happen when your cloned HD has not the same size as the original one.
interesting post, thanks. sadly i'm not sure this really helps. i didnt find what i expected.
the reagent.xml only has two references to offset, and they both refer to the partition that contains windows 7. i have changed this offset on the cloned disk to match the actual partition offset but it makes no difference.
i don't see any reference to the hidden lenovo partition or its offset in the windows recovery.
i also cant see any reference to it in the BCD on either the source or clonded disk.
all i see if pressing F2 on the source OEM when powering on loads a special lenovo recovery environment, and doing the same thing on the clonded disk just shows the windows 7 boot loader option for choosing to boot windows or do a memory test.
my question still remains, what is the magic thats happening when i press F2?

    You're very welcome.
Looks to me like you have to manually install the XP audio driver as follows...
Download and run this file.  If it installs the audio, great.  If not...close out of any error windows.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-18403-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
Go to the device manager and click on the multimedia audio controller needing drivers.
Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software and browse to:
C:\SWSetup\sp27325\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP\smwdmNV8, and select the SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio device from the list and see if the driver installs that way.
    Then reboot.

  • Windows driver for "Multimedia Controller" and sound problem

    Hi
I installed Windows 8.1 using Bootcamp on my Macbook Air (Early 2014, Intel i5).
Then I downloaded Bootcamp drivers from http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1720 and installed couple of them (wifi, intel chipset).
When I check the Device Managmer I still get "Multimedia Controller" in "Other devices" without drivers.
Beside that I think the sound is not working. I installed the Realtek sound driver. When I play sound file the volume bar in taskbar mixer is blinking but no sound is coming out : ).
    Please help.

for multimedia controller if its onboard sound card use this drivers:
    http://download.nvidia.com/Windows/nForce/4.62/4.62_nforce_audio_winxp2k_international_whql.exe
    but based on both:

think its external PCI device like TV tuner.

  • Help With Multimedia Audio Controller Driver For XP Pro

    Hello,
    Please help!!!
I am trying to locate the Multimedia Audio Controller Driver for XP Pro for an MSI 645 ULTRA (A6547MS) Motherboard.  The audio device is integrated into the motherboard and Windows XP Pro is not recognizing the device.
I have tried looking at MSI Support Website but am unable to identify which is the correct driver package to use.

Did you do a clean installation of XP or you only use the upgrade function?
I recommend you to do clean installation if you didn't.

  • Re: Satellite P200 PsPB3C-BB808C Cannot locate *Multimedia Controller*

I have just upgraded my neighbours' Toshiba Laptop to Win 7 after a bad Vista crash.
    It is a Satellite P200 -BB808C.
When I started there were two drivers missing, the Mass Storage Controller and a Multimedia Controller. I did a clean install, starting with formatting the drive.
Windows 7 loaded A-OK and all Toshiba drivers were installed following the recommended sequence. I was able to locate the driver for the Mass Storage controller but as yet cannot find anything for the Multimedia Controller.
I have been alternating between the Canadian and USA site with no luck.
I have also spent a lot of time Googling different variations of the same question, trying to locate some info on this driver. It seems a lot of people are having the same problem.
So far the system is performing very well with no glitches or hang-ups.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Thank you for the prompt reply.
Yes I have checked that out already.
There are no details given in the device manager for this item. There is a code 28 for this driver and an exclamation mark by the controller name.
It gives the location as PCI Bus 6, device 0, function 0.
The driver, details and resources tabs are all empty, no details whatsoever.
I was wondering, perhaps I should try re-installing all the drivers, etc.
    Your thoughts.

  • Multimedia Controller, code 28

    Hi,
    I use a Qosmio F45-AV412, running on Win 7 (recently re-installed).
The system notifies me that there's no driver, on my computer, for the Multimedia Controller (code 28). I have tried to run the automatic update but Windows was "unable to find software" for my device. I have tried to uninstall the multimedia controller, then reboot, but nothing happened.
I have read the discussions on the forum but, as far as I can tell, there is no solution that might respond specifically to my problem. I have also noticed that the media buttons on my front panel are unresponsive. I'm not sure whether the missing driver and media buttons situation are interrelated or there's just a coincidence.
    Can anyone help, please?
There seems to be no explicit information on Toshiba's or Windows's sites relative to this particular issue which appears to be quite frequent among uses who shift from one OS to another.

    It's the Win 7 32-bit OS.
    The exact words were
' The driver for Multimedia Controller is not installed. Install the latest driver for this device.'
    Then
'Windows was unable to install your Multimedia Controller. If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software.'
I downloaded and tried to install the Toshiba HD DVD Player application but what I got was
'This application cannot be installed on this computer. Setup will be aborted.'
I looked for the Toshiba playback/recording applications in the system, they aren't there. They must have vanished after I  had the Win 7 re-installed  as a result of  a HD replacement.

    Hi:
I believe this is the audio driver you need:
Accept the agreement. Download and install the 6th file listed.
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT...
For the other devices with the yellow ? marks, click on them and then click on the details tab.
Post the string of characters you see.  You need to have XP SP2 or SP3 in order to see the hardware ID's.

Try Unknown Device Identifier 7.00 to see if it can lead you to the proper driver.  http://www.zhangduo.com/udi.html

    Hi:
    You need these drivers...
    SMBus Controller:
Download, unzip and manually install the smbus controller driver I attached under Attachments below.
Go to the device manager and click on the smbus controller needing drivers.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that you unzipped.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.  Then reboot.
USB3:   Install both of these and reboot.

Problem:  Internet connection speeds are 1/10 of available connection speed.
    1. Problem statement is based on running speed tests at cnet, speedtest.net, and AT&T.
    2. I am paying for 12 MBps down load speed but I only get about 1.5 MBps.
    3. Other computers in household get 11+ MBps connected to the same ethernet cable and also different ethernet cables.
    4. I traced the problem to the network controller driver.
    5. I updated to the latest driver with no change in performance.
    6. After some experimenting I found that if I re-install the driver after the computer is booted up, the internet connection down load speeds increase to 11+ MBpS (typically around 11.4 with maximum capability of 12)
I have assumed that the driver does not load properly the first time, but why?  Or is there some other cause or setting that I have overlooked?
