Multimedia System + Compaq Laptop

Please advise me about Multimedia System to attach Compaq Laptop.

I already encouted this problem yesterday and I want to share this information on how I was able to fix this issue where in the dc jack blinking repeatedly and the laptop wont turn on. This issue is resulted due to overheat so laptop automatically shutdown and results to some kind of hibernation.
1. First you need to dissamble your laptop (compaq cq60). To clean the exhaust fan. I cleaned it because it was very dirty. I used my laptop for almost five years. If you dont know how to dissamble your laptop, you can check the tutorial from youtube. Just be very careful.
2. After Removing all the parts you can use a brush to remove all the dust inside your laptop. After cleaning all the dirt inside the laptop you need to let the motherboard cool for 1 to 1.5 hrs.
3. When you put the dc jack dont put the battery. So once you plugged the DC jack you can see if the light beside the jack still blinking or steady.
4. Once the light is steady., you can now power on your laptop. and a message will appear that your laptop overheated.
5. You can use cooling fan to prevent from heating.
6. Clean the parts inside your laptop every half year. to remove dust that cause the exhaust fan not to work properly.
Now I was able to use my laptop again.

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
I gather that you have sound when you connect head phones but not on the internal speakers.
When I checked Compaq Presario C700 CTO Notebook Software and Drivers, I noticed Windows 7 was not a supported Operating System. I am not sure if that is your exact model as you only provided the series.
As Windows 7 has not been tested on your notebook the outcome is unknown, however it may work just fine.

Compaq Laptop CQ60-615DX Little white light beside the dc jack blinking repeatedly non-stop

Compaq Laptop CQ60-615DX white light next to where you plug in the power cable keeps blinking. Never stops Blinking. Computer doesn't power on.
The DC jack is loose, took the laptop apart, pressed down on the dc jack to hold it in place, and stuck the power cable back in. Tried to wiggle the cable around to see if the jack is bad. But it feels pretty solid, it's just the housing holding the dc jack in place that's broken.
But I'm still getting the little white light beside the dc jack blinking repeatedly non-stop. No system power.
Question is.
1. Is the DC power jack bad and needs to be replaced or.
2. There is a short in the motherboard and the motherboard needs to be replaced.
I have check all over the internet for what the white light blinking means. I've found no answer.
Could someone please tell me what is wrong with this computer?

My Compaq laptop will not restore back to Vista

So I had a Compaq laptop that I got back in 2008 with Vista preinstalled. In 2012, I decided to try out Windows 8 Consumer Preview to see how well it was compared to Vista. Unofrunately, 8 was less satisfying than Vista, and I recently tried to revert back to Vista using the system restore utility. I backed up all my software, and when I ran the system restore partition, it failed and gave me this error message.
Then when I boot the system, it gives me this message
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Compaq Laptop as monitor for a Mac Mini

I was wondering if it would be able to use a Compaq laptop as a monitor for a Mac Mini because I want to be able to easily switch between Mac and PC for as cheap as possible I would like to use the laptop as a monitor for the Mini.

this is not possible. However, you can use VNC to control your mini from your Compaq. If this is an option for you depends on the intended use for your mini.

Why my sister's Compaq Laptop make noise and can't open the windows.. huhuhu.. the sound come from HardDisk in that laptop.. its sound like the HDD reader scratched the Disc insde.. how can it be?? my sister scold me already couze she wanna use for her work..

I ran the first aid in the Keychain both for verification and for repair and both immediately returned with "no problems found".
As for the certificate, according the web administrator nothing had changed for the certificates.
even on the windows laptop I also get the certificate as being expired, but by simply accepting that I still have access.
I had a pop up every time that alerted me to the certificate issue, but whether I "continued" or not that still did not matter.
Yesterday, in an effort to find a solution, I went into the "details" and entered to trust this website.
Now that certificate issue does not pop up anymore. But I do not know how to reverse that either.
I have the feeling indeed it has something to do with a certificate, but how is the question.

Compaq laptop wireless driver

Hi. I sure hope someone can help me. I have a compaq laptop running vista which i have reformatted and reinstalled vista successfully.
i thought i was using the install disc that came with the laptop but it appears that I have used a Dell disc!! so now i dont have any drivers at all, and the wireless function is not working, and if i plug the laptop in manually, I still cannot get online.
What should I do?

I had ITunes on a Dell laptop. I copied it all to a Compaq laptop via external hard drive. The Dell is deauthorized. The Compaq is authorized. My IPod Classic will not Sync on the Compaq. I have transferred purchases, but "Sync" is greyed out.

If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
The iPod should appear in the sidebar, under DEVICES. Select it there. To the right, its Summary screen is shown. Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons starting with Summary. Click on Music next to Summary. This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs ot the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music. This is the switch to enable automatic syncing. If your iTunes music library fits on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, you can choose to sync Select playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Then select what you want on the iPod from the lists below.
Click Apply to intiate automatic syncing between that iTunes library and your iPod (based on how the iPod's Music screen is set up in iTunes).

I have been keeping my eyes open to see the Compaq laptop back in stock at my bestbuy (the Parma OH location, area code 44129). However, these haven't been in stock for a long time. my friend has this laptop and i've been checking since school start at the beginning of the month and they aren't in stock. I am looking in the under $450 range and need a laptop that has Vista Home Premium, and good enough specs to run Photoshop & a few games like Peggle Deluxe (NOT big games)
I would get the new Acer that's displayed, but it is only Single-Core and I hear that it's slow.
The Compaq would be perfect for my uses, and price range. Now the last few days it's showing as an outlet item...
Any details on more coming to the Parma OH store? or something very similar to it in my price range?

Compaq Laptop Clicking Noises

Hello,
I have a compaq laptop I do not know what make. I have had it for three years now and all of a sudden it is making ticking noises.
The noises appear to be coming from the speakers, it continues if i mute it and when i have headphones in the noise comes from the speakers still. The noise is constant, when you position the laptop in a new place it stops temporarily and then starts again.

Shutdown the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory. Post back with the details of any error messages.

Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
As for transferring your iTunes Library: iTunes- How to move the library to an EHD. Once you have done this take the external drive to your new computer and restore the iTunes data on the new computer.

Installing Leopard os on a Compaq laptop

Last week my partner got a Imac from and for his job. I loved the way the system works. So want that too!
The Imac has a dual boot with Windows for programs that are not compatible with Imac software.
But I have a Compaq Presario V6000 and no budget to buy another laptop from about 1000 euro's. A new o.s. from Imac (about 130 euro) is optional.
I have heard that it is possible to install Imac o.s. on a not Imac computer. But there is no one I know who had done this or has experience with this.
So my question is:
Is there someone here who can tell me more about this and might be able to advise me?
Can I install the latest o.s. version from Imac on a Compaq Presario V6000?
We enlarged the work-memory from 1 gb to 2gb. That is all we have changed on this laptop.
I would like a dual boot as well.
If you are willing to answer my question, please do not use to many difficult English terms. My English is ok to certain hights, not in the specialist English terms.

As Simon pointed out, Leopard will install only on Macs. Furthermore, even if you would succeed in installing the software, this would be in violation of the law and software license which states that Apple software is only to be installed on Apple machines. For the license agreement you can search for "non-Apple" e.g. in [this document|http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/WelcometoLeopard.pdf] (p. 72).

Compaq Laptop, Auto wakeup while sleeping

I bought the compaq 15-a102tx laptop about two month ago. From the first day, its has a problem. Its auto wakeup while in sleep mode.
The scene is like that if i put my laptop to sleep mode. It will automatically wakeup afer 15 minutes. This time is also not fixed. its from 5 to 20 minutes.
I also change the setting of the 'power setting' as shown in figure below. But problem is not fixed. Tell me what I do?

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Compaq 15-a102tx Notebook PC and issues with the sleep mode or Hibernation settings. Here is a link to computer turns on unexpectedly.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system. If it needs an update this could cause this issue.
If there are programs running in the back ground this can effect the sleep issue as it will wake with activity.
Changing the power settings for wake will have to be adjust for all devices. Sometimes restoring the default settings will resolve this as well.

Previously backed up wife's Compaq Laptop along with my iMac and MacBook Pro to Time Capsule. Replaced wife's Windows Vista Laptop with new Sony Windows 8 Laptop. Now can't access Time Capsule to back-up.

I also need advice on removing old Compaq back-up. That laptop is dead. Hard drive wiped and removed before recycling. Help

Windows 8 seems to still be waiting for bonjour..
Open windows explorer and type in the TC address directly in the address bar.
\\TCIPaddress or TCname
Replace with the actual of course.
If no go, ping the TC ip address .. still no go, then the networking on the windows machine is set wrongly.. never used win8 so no idea.. but turn off the firewall and ensure the laptop is in the home area, not work not public.
You have to get ping response to open the TC.
On the TC setup the guest access to on and full read and write access.
