Multipile cost componenets structure
dear all,
i have craeted multipile cost comp structuere in one plant of a company code
can somebody explainnme how to do standard cost estmate will pick the correct cost comp when i run ck11n
how sap integration came into play
and in assignemnt organsition tab of cost componenets structure.
what should i choose
Yes,
however, please also check my message for your previous message.
cost componenet
I mean you can use the multiple cost component structure for one plant by using costing variant, however, there're some limitation to calculate standard estimation, please check my previous comment.
Also you just want to have two cost component structure for report purpose. Auxiliary Cost Component Structure can be another option. Aux CCS is available within same comp. code, plant and also costing variant. This can be set-up also in "Assignment -Organization units" in Dialog structure by transaction OKTZ.
hope this will help.
best regards, Takashi

Material cost estimate- Cost componenet structure
Hi,
when i run the cost estimate it does not show me any amts on the machine and labot , i hav set up the activtiy type for labor, machine, setup , did kp26 , assigned the act, types to work center for that cost center, routing is defined for that work center too, the cost comopnnet str for direct labor and machine has the sec cost element defined too,
i am wondering how it's not calcualting and showing the amts for dieret labor and machine , on the other hand if i assign the act types directly in the routing then it shows up in the cost estimate by picking up the time from the routing , but do we really need to assign in the rouing usually it picks up from the
kinldy let me know
thanksHi,
just check the below:
You planned activity dependent costs in KP06 for the Activity type & Cost Centre comination and run KSPI.
You have specified the Activity duration in the Rate routing .

Can it be a seperate cost component structure for each company code?
Company Code No 1 Setting:
Company Code XXXX with Chart of accounts X(Quantity + Value updation in material type)
In the existing company code(XXXX) ,Cost component structure is defined as
All company code---->All Plants----> All Costing Variants -
>Cost component Structure AA
Company Code No 2 Setting:
Scenario:
Now I am creating a new company Code YYYY) which is is allowed for quantity updation alone and trying to create a product cost collector to carry out Production confirmation through Repetetive manufacturing (."Error = Cost object component split costed with Value of Zero"
Can it be possible to have a seperate cost component structure for each company Code?
Company Code YYYY with Chart of accounts Y which is different from Company code 1(Quantity alone in material type)
If possible ,Can anybody provide a procedure to do the configuration of Cost Component structureHello,
As I understand your question, All the thing which are releted to costing are done only at the controlling area level not at company code.
As your req diffrent cost componenet for diffrent company code is depend up on how you define the controlling area.
Hope it will clear you

Standard Report for Materials Cost Component Structure - PO Condition Type
Dear experts,
We are using below cost component structure (CCS) for materials:
- Direct materials
- import duty
- import handling
In which, all those above CCS are achieved through below condition type in Purchasing Info Record. When doing the standard cost estimate through costing run, we have successfully grouped all those condition types into their respective CCS. The problem is, while executing the standard report of "result of costing run" (S_ALR_87099930), the sytem groups all those three CCS into CCS "Direct materials" only.
I have tried different standard layouts, but still got no way to show all those CCS separately in the standard report.
Please kindly suggest what approach should i take
Thank you very much

Check cost elements assigned to structure. For this go to transaction code OKTZ and select your CCS and double click on Assignment Cost Component-Cost element interval.

New Cost Component Structure in new Costing Variant
Hi gurus,
i created a new costing variant (to be used for planned prices, for budget purposes), then a new cost component structure.
Now the system (transaction OKTZ) doesn't allow me to assign the new cost component structure to the new costing variant forcing me to mask the costing variant with ++++.
But the aim, for me, is just assigning the new cost component structure to the new costing variant only for a company code and only for a plant.
Does anybody know how i can reach the goal? Am i missing some step?
Thanks in advance for the collaboration,
Best regards
EnricoHi Utenza
You can very well achieve this
1. First of all ensure that a masked entry exists i.e. ++++ in Comp Code field, Plant Field, Costing variant Field and assign the Prmary cost comp str here
2. Then, coming to the new costing variant and new cost comp str,
a. Enter ++++ in the comp code field
b. Enter your plant name in the Plant Field (and not ++++)
c. Enter your new costing variant here.. (This should be the costing variant where costing type is not 01)
d. Assign your new cost comp structure here against this costing variant

Impact of Cost component structure on PA Transfer structure in SAP
Hi All,
We were using a single Operating concern and Controlling area for existing company codes. Now, we got a new company to be created all together a new company with the same chart of accounts.
1. We have created Operating concern, COA, Company code..... and then completed the PA Transfer structure of FI-MM in KEI1
2. I have created a new Costing variant in OKKN
3. I have created the Cost component structure in OKTZ and assigned the new company code to it.
When i go back and checked the PA Transfer structure for FI-MM, i see everything showing as blank.
I have no idea the entire config got deleted.
Do you have any idea how it happens and why it happens please?
Also, will there be any relation b/n OKTZ and KEI1 and sequence to customize?
Hope you understand my query.
Appreciate your early response.
Thanks,
NarasimhuluHi Ravi,
Thanks for your response.
I have created the FI-MM PA transfer structure for the new Controlling area. But after completing the Cost component structure and came back to check the PA Transfer structure, i was surprised since everything to deleted.
I have no idea if we need to follow a sequence while doing these two activities (KEI1 and OKTZ).
Thanks,

Cost component structure in CO-OM Reporting
Hi there,
we want to run cost center reports, that show us the balance on a cost center per primary cost element, after we have allocated some of the costs from the cost center into production orders.
I thought this can be achieved by having the tariffs we use for the internal activity allocation been broken into their cost component structure so that on the cost center, the respective primary cost elements are debited by the activity allocation.
However, this is not happening in my system. While the activity tariffs are correctly calculated with a component split (according the 1SKS-001 report), the standard cost center report still shows the debit on the cost center with the secondary cost element of the activity.
Does this mean I cannot see the component split of my activities in normal OM reporting?
Thanks
KaiHi
Make cost splitting structure and assigne to Production Cost Center.
Run Cost splitting KSS2 for cost splitting according to activity types.

Cost Component Structure (OKTZ) Issue - Max number of cost fields reached
Hello.
I'm having this issue in OKTZ when adding new cost component in an exisiting cost component structure. it says "maximum number of cost fields reached (40)".
not sure what to do with this.
please see screenshot
http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/1700/oktz.jpgHi Andrew,
When yo create the Cost Components in the Cost Component Structure, inside each Cost Component, there will be properties relating to whether the Cost in that Cost Component is Fixed / Variable, relevant to Inventory Valuation or not etc.
To view these options...Go to OKTZ, select the line of your Cost Component Structure, double click on "Cost Component with Attributes" in the left side navigation. Now, you will be able to see the list Cost Components on right hand side. If you double click on any Cost Component, you will see the properties of that Cost Component.
There, you can see ther radio buttons "Variable Costs" and "Fixed and Variable Costs".
Now, in Standard SAP, you will be able to create a maximum 40 Cost Components. The behaviour of the system goes like this.... If one Cost Component is only "Variable Cost", it will take the space of one Cost Component out of the maximum 40. If one Cost Component is of "Fixed and Variable Costs", then it will take the space of two Cost Components out of the maximum 40. That means, if all of your Cost Components are "Fixed and Variable", then you will be able to create only 20 Cost Components.
You can find the SAP explanation regarding this in the IMG Documentation...
SPROControllingProduct Cost ControllingProduct Cost PlanningBasic Settings for Material Costing--Define Cost Component Structure. Check the IMG Documentation there to find the following text...
Structure of the Cost Components in a Cost Component Split
The cost components are listed in a cost component structure that can contain up to 40 cost components (cost fields).
You can create up to 40 cost components that contain variable costs.
For cost components that contain full costs, the system creates a second cost field for the fixed costs. This means that you can create no more than 20 cost components that are full costs.
Revert back for further explanation...

Cost Component Structure - expand or further second view
Hello experts,
I have a cost component structure with 40 elements. Now I need 5 further elements, but without changing existent variable / fix components.
One idea is to build a 2nd component structure as "cost component split". But how I implement a second view, what are the steps watching the other structure in customer calculation, or CO PA?
Thanks for help!
Regards JuergenOh yes, I forgot about the Limit... You can check for any available OSS notes.,.
As far as I know, the upper cap is 40 and SAP does not allow more.. It makes sense to me that having cost components more than that is difficult to handle
Can you think of revamping your CCS?

Cost component structure - cost elements for FERT and HALB (TC:OKTZ)?
Hi all,
our cost component structure has the following structure (TC: OKTZ):
1 Raw materials
2 Human ressources
3 Production
4 Material Overhead
5 Production overhead
6 external activity
(this settings are conform with SAP standard - copy from cost comp. structure 01)
To cost comp 1 "raw material" we assigend the relevant (primary) cost elements (consumption raw mat, e,g, steel, wood...).
My question is: In case we insert/post e.g. a semi-finished product to the production order from stock (accor. bill of material), where (in which cost comp.) do I have to assign the relevant cost element? I guess this should be the account "inventory change unfinished product? (maintain in TC: OBYC for transaction BSV according val. class)
Is it correct to assign this cost element to cost comp structure "raw material", because actually it is a semi finished product which is picked up from stock to convert /process further? To problem is, if this cost element is not assigned I get an error in CK11N/CK40N
I hope my wording is not to abstract...
Thanks in advance...
best RegardsHi..
You don’t need to consider the cost element of production order settlement and production notification.
Cost component structure need the cost element of production order’s debit. -
Cost element is not assigned to cost component structure
Dear Team,
While doing the settlemnt through KO88 system is showing the message like below
Cost element 433001 is not assigned to a cost component in CostCompStruct Z1
Message no. MLCCS 010
Diagnosis
You have activated the actual cost component split.
No cost component has been assigned to cost element 433001 origin group
in cost component structure Z1 for chart of accounts XXX. The system is
unable to assign the value to a cost component.
System Response
You cannot carry out posting.
Procedure
Check whether for this operation the value to be posted is to be
assigned to this cost element.
User has done tchnically completed from CO side .But system is showing the open status in FI.
So we have suggested to the user to do settlemt through KO88 system is showing the above message .Half of the production orders we can able to close through Ko88. Some of the PO we are facing the above issue. The concern GL account showing by the system is maintained as a sundry receivables a/c.
Please advice how to proceed further.
Thanks for the consideration.
Regards,
SumaDear Sir,
System is showing the GL account is not relating the cost element a/c ,The concern account belongs to Sundry receivables account.
The configuration is done correctly with all expenses GL a/c in OKTZ as well WIP accounts assigned corrctly in OKG8. How the system is showing this account which i am not understanding.
Please advice to resolve.
Thanks for the consideration.

By-product in cost componet structure
hi
how i can add by-product in cost component structure. which account will be assign profit & loss or balance sheet.
imdadHello Imdad,
You should maintain the GL account that is credited when a By Product is generated. This is the the GL that is defined in GBB / AUF. You should review your settings. If you have mentioned only one account without reference to a valuation class in GBB / AUF and if that is already maintained in OKTZ then no need to maintain further. If you want to classify by valuation class then you should create a valuation class for By - Product and have a account called 'Cost of Goods Manufactured - By Products' or 'Factory Output of Production - By Products' and assign the same in GBB / AUF in OBYC and create a new line in cost component structure (OKTZ) and assign it there as well.
Kind Regards // Shaubhik
