Multiple accounts on same base station

Can I set up 2 different ISP accounts (access numbers, etc...) on one Airport base station? Once formatted, I could choose which ISP I choose to access at any given time. If so, how is this done? Thanks to anyone who can lend a hand! I am trying to do this with a 12" Power Book.

Thanks for the input. I would not want to be logged in to 2 different accounts at the same time. Only one at a given time!
2 people are sharing one Power Book. Each person has a different ISP. Can this be accomplished through one Airport Extreme base station?? Remember, we only want to access one ISP at one time.

I have multiple accounts with same email
The one that has all my contacts is the one attached to FB but for some odd reason I can no longer access this specific account
When I try to reset my password, it only keeps asking me to change my FB password
Once I try logging in on Skype, it keeps asking my FB to connect to the other 2 Skype accounts, completely diffente usernames

ok, so i created a new skype. I was messing with skype account on my desktop and wound up unlinking and re linking the account basically i made 2 extra accounts and they have my live: random.namehere_1 and live: random.namehere_2 and i cant log into my original one anymore also when i try to do a recovery it says i have 2-3 skype accounts on my email and i cant log into my accounts by typing in the live:random.namehere and the password it just says ooops something went wrong basicallly saying the pw and account name are wrong when they arent i made sure of it. so how do i eliminate the cloned accounts and log into the main one.

ITunes Library on Time Capsule accessed by multiple accounts on same Mac

I moved my iTunes library from an external hard drive to my new Time Capsule (it is in the Data folder). I can access it fine from my user account, but my husband who has an account on the same MacBook Pro cannot. When he tries to access the Data folder it has a red circle with a white line indicating that he does not have access. I have used Airport Utility to change the file sharing (enable file sharing with time capsule password and airport disk guests access read and write). But still he has not access on his account. Please help! Thanks!

I have my iTunes library on a Time Capsule. I can access it from more than one user account without the problems described here. In fact, I can access it from more than one account simultaneously if more than one machine is on. I have not tried accessing from multiple accounts using Fast User Switching.
The only think of that might be different is the location of the files. The iTunes Music folder is on the Time Capsule but not inside a Data folder. Each user's iTunes Library files are stored in the usual location in their home directory on the machines. iTunes' preferences are set to point to the folder on the Time Capsule.

Installed TC as airport base and backup via TM. Works great - no problems. Question: I have only backed up my own account, but we have three other user accounts on our Mac. Does each user account need to be backed up to TC, or is my account enough?

Yes all the other account's on the same Mac are backed up, in other words time machine backs up everything including after set up all other macs in your home onto your TC automatically.

Multiple accounts with same email address

Hello,
We are working on a system where we need a blackberry to access an email account, for example [email protected] - in this case its a POP account. However we are also using a google apps for business account for calendaring where the login is [email protected] We can't add two accounts, one email and one google with the same email address. Is there anyway around this?

I don't know a workaround for that other than to use a different address for the calendar share.

Multiple Accounts On Same Computer

Ok my brother and I are now going to use the same computer for our iTunes libraries since we found out you can have more than one. I was wondering if we could also have both of our accounts on here so I can buy things on mine and him on his. Any help is appriciated.

In addition to ed2345's excellent advice, you also might want to set your preferences to used a shared folder for the music, so you don't have duplicates of the same song files on one hard drive.

Make sure you do what the section *To listen to another account's music files* says:
+Deselect the "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library file" option.+
Also, since itunes doesn't have a watch folder feature like Windows Media Player does,

Can you have multiple accounts under same apple id?

We have 1 main apple id for our household so that anything we buy can be shared onto any of our devices. However this is a problem when we use giftcards. When 1 child redeems their gift card onto the account, they can't stop the other sibling from using their money accidentally. Is there a way to set-up separate subaccounts while still being able to share content among all of us?

iCloud isn't designed as a multi-user service. Either you all have the same ID, and all your data is available to everyone, or you all have separate IDs and keep your data separate. You can share calendars, so that for example you could all have your own calendars but have one which is common to everyone:

If you want to share contacts you will have to do it manually. If you want to do file transfer you will have to find a third-party alternative.

HT1277 Multiple accounts on same domain in Apple Mail blocks connection to the mail server.

I am trying to run two separate mail accounts on my Mac in Apple Mail, both using the same domain name. I don't want to use aliases because one is a personal mail account and the other is a helpdesk one, with different signatures. I also want to keep emails for those accounts separate.
I can get the first account working fine. When I add the second account, Apple Mail tells me it can't connect to the mail server for either account. As soon as I remove the second account, the first account starts working again.
Anyone know why this might be?
The mail server is Postfix running on a Linux server. My Mac is running OS X Lion v10.7.5.
The mail accounts are IMAP - I also access them from my iPhone 3GS (iOS 6). Again, I can get the first one working from the iPhone, but as soon as I add the second one it falls over.

If the email service you were trying to connect to was an icloud email account, then the outgoing server can't possibly be right (yahoo.com???). If it's to yahoo, then the "apple.smtp.mail" part certainly looks suspicious. Are you sure the server address wasn't changed at some point?
So the first question for you is.. which email service were you trying to use? Yahoo or icloud (or something else)?

Iphoto and multiple accounts on same computer

I have two accounts/ users on my mac and each has an extensive iphoto library. I purchased iphoto Library Manager as suggesed. The problem is that when I am logged into Account A it cannot see the library in account B. I created a new library and merged account/user B photo library but when logged into Account A it still does not see the default library for B or the newly created library. I'm going in circles and racing the clock to back up and prior to convertingsystem to Lion by end of June. Any help out their?

Yes I want to merge them. I went to account B moved new library to Users shared and then went back to account A and clicked on harddrive symbol/ users/shared and I do not see it. I do see the two accounts listed separately. This all started by combining office and home computer into one.

Multiple Accounts With Same Display Name Lync 2013

Hi All,
I have a single user in my Lync 2013 environment that sees three different users with the same exact display name. All three users have a different SIP address.
User1 - Melissa A. - [email protected]
User2 - Melissa A. - [email protected]
User3 - Melissa A. - [email protected]
Upon looking at the contact card, each user has the same display name but correct email address. However there is another email address line that appears underneath the original Send Email address line - on other computer's this appears as "IM".
The user is running a Windows Server 2012 Standard on a Hyper-V Virtual Machine. I've tried re-installing the Office 2013 suite as well as forcing an Global Address Book update from his local machine. All data is correct in Lync Server and Active Directory.
Can someone please advise? Could it be a corrupt database?

You could try deleting the following data for the user.
1. User profile:
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]
2. Registry Key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]
3. Outlook Contact
Delete the related Contact Cards in Outlook

Base Station Problem

Hi, I'm having a problem with my graphite base station. The middle LED light is solid amber, which means it's in a soft or forced reload. Only, it's not in a reload. It's been stuck with the middle amber light since 8-12 hours ago. Its preventing internet access and there are multiple computers in my household that use the same base station. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sometimes after repeated attempts to "find" the Extreme it helps to power it down for 15-20 minutes and then try again.
If still no luck, the best approach would be to apply a hard reset to return the unit to factory defaults so you can reconfigure it.
There are two methods to hard reset the device. Try 1) first, and if still no luck, go to 2)
1) With the Exteme plugged into power, hold in the reset button until the amber light blinks rapidly, usually about 5-10 seconds.
2) Pull the power on the Extreme. Hold in the reset button and continue to hold in it as you plug the power back in. Release the reset button after approximately 10 seconds.

Not able to connect to base station after last security update

Since the lastest update came out, I am no longer able to connect to the same base station I was once able to connect to. I get my DSL through SBC, and the station is a 2Wire Gateway. My mac mini still is able to connect, since it didn't have the security update. Did this happen to anyone else when they got the airport update?

I've got a similar problem. After the "AirPort Extreme Update 2007-001" was installed, i am only able to surf for approximately 30 minutes. Then my connections to the Internet stops working. When I disconnect and reconnect to my Accesspoint, my MacBookPro is unable to get an IP over DHCP. If I manually type an valid IP, the System Settings show that my Airport is connected to the Accesspoint and has connection to the Internet but it still doesn't work. The only thing that helps is to go in the "sleep mode" ("ruhezustand"), when i wake up my MBP i am able to surf for further 30 min, but even this doens't work always. When I tested the connection to the accesspoint under windows on the MBP everything worked fine.

Restoring old Graphite Airport Base Station

So, I picked up an old graphite base station second hand. I brought it home, plugged it in and eventually got it fired up and broadcasting a network. Turns out the previous owners used it for unsecured wi-fi, so it didn't need a password to get on to the internet. However, I wanted to go and configure it and tweak it to my liking, so I decided to go and wipe it clean and set it up myself.
I downloaded the neccesary utility here http://support.apple.com/downloads/AirPortAdmin_Utility_for_Graphite_and_Snow_4_25 , and found the instructions for a hard reset here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2439 .
I set my ethernet settings on my macbook according to step 2, connected a CROSSOVER cable between my macbook and the ABS, and reset the power and held down the reset button when the three lights flashed amber. I waited about thirty seconds after the middle light stayed amber. I opened up the Airport Admin Utility for Graphite and Snow and hit "Configure". Because I had never done this before, I picked the "Automatic" option. The utility asked me for my system password, which I entered. It showed a message about writing some kind of configuration which stayed for about 15 seconds before ending in an error message which read "An error occurred while updating configuration".
This is as far as I have got. I have repeated this sequence at least 15 times, and each time it ends in the same way, at the same spot. I have a sneaking suspicion that a hard reset has NOT occurred, as if I unplug and plug back in the ABS, it resumes it's wifi network settings (I'm using it right now!).
I have trawled the internet, looking for help on this matter. While I have found many articles, none have offered an actual solution to this particular problem. People explain parts in great detail, but everything kinda tapers off when it gets to answering the tough questions.
That's about it, I hope someone can offer me some assistance on what else I should try.

I am curious to know if you have succeeded at all since your last post. Do the lights (L and R) blink green intermittently now?
Once you are inside the Utility, (if you got this far) something that might need to be checked out is the connection method for internet access in the Network Pane for configuration. That is, de-select 'Connect using PPoE', instead choose 'Built-In Internet, configure using DHCP'. I am too much of a rookie to understand all the terminology. The above made not too much sense but it worked while I had an iBook running Tiger.
I came across this as I can't access the internet via my same base station from my Acer netbook, although others can using their own machines, so looking around.
