Multiple adapter engine URL's found

Hello,
In the integration directory, when we tried to add a communication channel or change a currently existing communication channel we get an error " Attempt to determine which Adapter Engines are affected by data changes failed". We did a cache refresh and in AE runtime cache we find the AE name changed to "CA" with a new adapter engine name. The default was "AE" with the adpater name blank. Also in the cache notification of ID there is an "Unknown error" in red and in the cache instance we find 2 adapter engine instances.
Where can we find the actual adapter engine set up for the integration server ?? and How can we revert back to the original settings??
Any help is appreciated.

In SXI_CACHE-> Goto-> Adapter Engine, an entire is present but with the URL having port 8001.
I belive it has to be changed to 50100.

  • Adapter Engine URL missing in RWB

    Hi All,
In my newly configured PI 7.0 system, the Adapter Engine URL is missing at the fol. location:
RWB -> Component Monitoring -> Adapter Engine -> Test Message.
But when I open SXI_CACHE -> AE Cache, I am able to see the url http://pidev:50000/MessagingSystem/receive/AFW/XI
I think that this means that my ABAP stack is configured properly, but JAVA stack has some problem for Adaptr engine.
Please confirm if I am right and how to resolve this.
    regards,
    Piyush

    Hi,
    Are you using the FQHN?
Check also note #764176 if you have components missing on SLD.
Last, you may want to configure your system in order to check each of the steps.
Use this link -> Wizard-Based Basic Configuration:

  • Multiple Adapter engines

Can anyone confirm if XI 2.0 supports multiple Adapter Engines on different hosts?
    Thanks

Yes, the XI 2.0 supports multiple adapter engines.
Only the RFCAdapter should be installed on the XI 2.0 Integration Server engine, but all other adapters can run locally on the business systems for example.
    Best regards, Silvia

  • Adapter engine URL different between CACHE and RWB adapter engine URL?

    Hi there,
If I go to SXI_CACHE and go to the adapter engine runtime cache I get a URL of:
    https://<server>/MessagingSystem/receive/AFW/XI
NOTE: The above URL is HTTPS.....and there is no port in the above....
However, if I go to the runtime workbench and click on the adapter engine and click on "test message", I get the following URL:
    http://<server>:<port>/MessagingSystem/receive/AFW/XI
NOTE: The above url is HTTP and there is a port.
How can I get these URL's back in sync?
I want them both to be HTTP.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hello
    1) Check the value of the Exchange Profile parameter 'com.sap.aii.connect.secure_connections'. If you don't wish to use HTTPS this should not have any value set.
    2) Delete the Adapter Engine cache in trx sxi_cache -> Goto -> Adapter Engine Cache -> Delete Cache Contents (trash can icon).
The AE cache will be populated the next time a message is sent through the system. Check the value after this is done.
    Regards

  • Adapter engine not found in Integration Directory

    Hello All,
We are having a new server installation. The problem I am having is in Integratin Directory --> Communication Channel, no option for Adapter Engine is present in the drop down. I have checked the following options:
    1) SAP BASIS Component with Adapter Mata data is present in Repository.
    2) In SLD, Content Maintenance, class XI Integration Server. There are 3 associated objects (the last column).  XI Sub-System viewed application system is also present.
    3) The Technical and Business Systems are already created for XI Integration Server in SLD.
I have also suggested the blog /people/venugopalarao.immadisetty/blog/2007/03/15/adapter-engine-cannot-be-found-in-integration-directory , to the Basis team, however the problem still persits.
Kindly suggest how we can resolve the issue and start executing our scenarios.

Business system was not there. so I tried creating a WEB AS ABAP acc. to this blog.
I got the following error :
    <b>CIM_ERR_FAILED </b>
Qualifier MAX(1) violated for property reference SAP_XIIntegrationServerLogicalIdentity.SameElement
however it's creating a Business System. but I am not able to find the adapter engine in ID.

  • No Adapter Engine value  in File Adapter Config

    Hello,
When we configured File adapter in Integration Directory  we noticed that ADAPTER ENGINE pull down is empty.
I cannot assign any value to Adapter Engine field.
It is a new  test system and should all be configured already. I wonder if this is ok or not. My experience was that I should be able to see Adapter Engine there??
Moreover Adapter Engine field has a red star which means is mandatory field but I am not sure...?!
I will appreciate any directions from experienced or  xi basis people.
    Thanks

Follow the steps given in this BLOG for adapter enginer coming in ID -

  • TWO Adapter Engine (CA + IS) - How to delete one?

    Hi,
In PI prod, I have an issue when PI has to send back an acknowledgment to ECC (when ECC send an idoc) (*). By looking queue log and reading SXMB_MONI trace, I identified that my problem is certainly with the link "IE -> Adapter Engine" and here's what we have:
    In PI prod:
      - in SXMB_ADM, category=RUNTIME + Parameter=IS_URL, I have: http://<host>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry   " no <port> !
      - in SXI_cache, I have TWO entries for Adapter cache:
         1. AE name = af.pip.pip-mssql
            AE type = CA
            AE URL  = http://<host>:<port>/MessagingSystem/receive/AFW/XI
         2. AE name = is.50.pip-sap
            AE type = IS
            AE URL  = http://<host>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry             " no <port> !
And when PI has to send back the ack, it uses the 2 line of SXI_CACHE (e.g "IS"), and it's here that we have error (e.g HTTP_COMMUNICATION_FAILURE), whereas in PI quality, I have:
       - in SXMB_ADM, category=RUNTIME + Parameter=IS_URL, I have: http://<host>:<j2eeport>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
       - in SXI_cache, I have one entry:
            AE name = af.piq.piq
            AE type = CA
            AE URL  = http://<host>:<j2eeport>/MessagingSystem/receive/AFW/XI
To solve issue, my first idea is to provide <port> in "IS" url, and check the result... but why to keep two AE?
The 2nd idea is to delete the 2nd entry (e.g "IS") in SXI_CACHE and/or update the appropriate "aii" properties.
    I have three questions:
    1. what's the best approach?
    2. where the 2nd entry of SXI_CACHE (e.g "IS") is maintained? which aii properties?
    3. do I have to stop/start PI server? if update IS_URL in SXMB_MONI, and/or if update the "aii" properties.
As error appears in prod (only), please answer only if you are sure , because myself I have a doubt....
And if you could refers to a help sap, snd, pdf links, I will appreciate.
    Thanks.
    Mickael
    PI 7.1 EhP1
(*) I know that a quick solution should be to use prog IDX_NOALE in order to not send Ack... but I don't want that.

option 2 should be a clean approach.

  • No Integration Server under Adapter Engine at Communication Channel

    Hello all,
    This is new PI7.0 install.
I configured a file Adapter communication channel for an Integration Scenario.
At field "Adapter Engine" under Parameters tap I am not able to select the Integration Server.
    Pull down menu is empty.
I did sxmb_adm and blog 6077 that got "Integration Server" in file adapter. Later to that file to file scenario worked yesterday. However after java+abap stack complete restart (to cleanup unwanted manually created business system of type WEB AS ABAP) the problem came back today.
I repeated again same blog /people/venugopalarao.immadisetty/blog/2007/03/15/adapter-engine-cannot-be-found-in-integration-directory   sxmb_adm, sldcheck, rz70 all looks good, but no luck.
There is a note from forum to change the content maintenance under
    SLD->Administration->Content Maintenance->Subset (Landscape description)...
Need some pointers on what to change & get the file adapter to work? Thanks.
Another observation is all adapters got empty menu (no Integration Server). However IDOC, HTTP got integration server populated.

    Hi All,
the problem was related to missing some Associations under Contend Maintenance for the Integration Server.
After implementing again, the problem was solved!

    Hi Jochen,
Can you please check following parameters in sxmb_adm on your application server.
Goto TC : sxmb_adm...select Integration Engine configuration n check whether you have maintained global configuration data as
Role of Business System  : Application system
    and Corresponding Integ. Server : http://xi hostname:port/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
Also check if you have created following RFC destinations:
    1. INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI(H)
    2.LCRSAPRFC (TCP/IP)
    3.SAPSLDAPI

  • Cache Notifications unable to determine name of Central Adapter Engine

    Hi All,
When I tried Tools -> Cache Notifications in the integration directory, im getting
Unable to determine the name of the central Adapter Engine from the System Landscape Directory at this time.
Notifications to the central Adapter Engine are therefore listed using the technical name of the Adapter Engine.
This is usually structured as follows: af.<SAP System ID>.<Name of application server>
Once i click the OK on the pop up dialog which has this message, it has given the Notifications and Problems Tab.
In the Problems Tab, its has given an error message
'Unable to find an associated SLD element (source element: SAP_XIIntegrationServer"
Any suggestion of what to look for to modify ??
      Thanks

    Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem while configuring my communication channel.
When I am trying to selct a server in ADAPTER ENGINE column from drop down , I am not getting anything (it is blank) for FILE,RFC,JDBC,JMS,Mail and SOAP Adapters. But in case of HTTP,IDOC and XI i am getting my adapter engine as Integration Server.
I have checked with basis guy , he is also not able to resolve the issue .
    Kindly suggest something on this.
    Regards
    Dheeraj

    Try these
    1. Re-import SAP BASIS SWCV 7.0 into Integration repository
    2. Apply SAP Note 764176.
