If I connect three Airport Express units in three different rooms, can I use more than one at a time?
Can I choose to only use 2 out of the 3 at one time?

The maximum number of remote AirPort Express units is three to six in typical conditions. The number that works for you will depend on your environmental conditions (such as building composition and local radio interference), distance to the remote AirPort Express units, and available network capacity relative to your other usage.

You can use only one drive at a time as a TM backup destination, though you can switch among as many drives as you like. They'll all back up the same set of files, unless you keep changing your exclusion list (which I wouldn't recommend.)

I don't know what the maximum number of hard drives might be, but I have tested with 4 and it works fine. Time Machine automatically rotates the backups when you do this, so drive #1 will be backed up first, then #2, #3, etc. and then back to #1, etc.

Using Multiple Airport Express units to play Music to Multiple Sound System

Goal
- play music on my iMac and in one other sound system(I'am aware of the one
system limit )
- I have multiple Airport Express units(3) for different sound systems and wish
to select the room using iTunes.
Reality
if I reset all the airport express units in the house(3) I can initially see the units. On going through the setup I'am able to configure each unit to be part of my wireless network and get the airport express to power cycle. However after this process only the last AE unit is visable via itunes. If I use the airport utility it can find no units when scanning. If I power cycle one of the non visible units it becomes visable but I cannot play music to the unit and trashes the connectivity to the one working AE unit.
What am I doing wrong ?

Sorry - I led you astray unnecessary in my last posted message. The reference I provided was for setting up a remote base station. That is not applicable to your situation, so please ignore.
In your case, you want to use the Airport Utility to configure each Airport Express so that it "join" (and not "extends") your existing wireless network.
What I suggest you do is:
1. get each Airport Express into a known default state by doing a factory default reset per these instructions. Hold down the reset button for 10-15 seconds, until you see four green flashes in rapid succession
2. put all Airport Express devices, and the wireless Mac you are using to configure the Airport Expresses, into the same room as the wireless router you are using
3. configure one Airport Express at a time, and as I said above use the Airport Utility to configure each Airport Express to "join" the existing wireless network - ie select your Airport Express device as shown in the Airport Utility, click the "Continue" button (not the Manual setup button), and follow the instructions. The name of the wireless network you are joining is the same as the name of the wireless network your existing wireless router is creating. Make sure you also specify the same security protocol (WEP/WPA) and wireless network password as your Mac requires to connect to your existing wireless network.

Using more than one PU and PC for the same database

which uses Seam, EJB3, JPA, Hibernate, Richfaces (modalPanel) and JSF.
The question I have is the following:
is there any negative consequence (memory consumption, performance hit, etc.) of using more than one persistence unit in the persistence.xml that points to the same EntityManagerFactory? I was thinking of having one PersistenceContext (Seam-managed PC - an extended PC which is conversation-scoped) which uses one PU and reserving the other PC for the modalPanel forms and backing beans (SFSBs).
The reason I needed to use this solution/approach is so that when using Hibernate MANUAL flush with SMPC, I can achieve isolated synchronization of the PersistenceContext without updating values in the modalPanel forms and vice versa.
Any tips on best practices or alternative solutions? thx.

Yes, you can use multiple iCloud accounts in multiple User Accounts on one computer, but, as you know not multiple iTunes Match accounts. Keep in mind that the two services are not the same.

Can I use more than one Apple ID on one device

I have seen some answers to this type of question before but not that since the ios 6 so will ask again. My household shares an Apple ID and it has worked great as we have added devices and purchased apps. My problem now is this, we have hit a point where I have work things on my iPad and iPhone that I really don't need to be shared with the whole family but it isn't a major deal or security risk. I don't want to give up the advantages of having the household ID. Is there an easy way to have another ID on my iPad and switch between them without having major complications? You can use more than one apple id, but keep in mind that when apps need updating that you'll will need to sign in with correct credentials to update them.
Share an apple id for the itunes and app stores, but keep your own for icloud, facetime and messages.

Using more than one input device at the same time

Is it possible to use more than one input device at the saem time in logic express. For example I have a fire wire input device and a usb input device can I get Express to recognize both of these at once and so have a total of 4 ins which would be great since Im transfering tracks off my ADAT and it would be less track to have to line up.

Oops actually I meant iDVD ipo iMovie. But yes, it is a standard feature for music under Media in iDVD.

The Digimax FS does look like a good basic device for this capability. I found an 828 mkII on the local Craigslist for a decent price, though. I had saved some pennies, so I just picked it up and now have two of those units.
Now that I know it's possible (thanks to your input), I'll just have to learn the best way to do it. I'm sure it's not rocket science. My first decision is whether to chain the second 828 mkII by FireWire to the first one. That's my best guess, since I think using the ADAT/optical in would limit data to 8 tracks. (?)
