Multiple Alarms for 1 Event

Keep getting multiple alarms (usually 3) popping up for each event in ical. I go into the event and edit it down to 1 alarm but that is not fixing problem. I just updated to 10.5.5 and it is still happening. Any suggestions?

You can only assign directly one location to each event, but each photo in the event may be assigned to an individual location. When you display the event in places you will see all the different locations.

OK, so I have had this issue for the past several months. I think it all started when I upgraded to ML from SL and migrated my calendars and contacts to iCloud. That was a couple months ago. But now I am running 10.8.2, and about two weeks ago I upgraded my iOS devices to 6.0.1.
I don't seem to be having any issues with events that I create now, but all those old events that were migrated to iCloud a couple months ago, many of those sound alerts on the iOS devices even though there was no alert defined when the event was originally created. I have always had alerts off by default both in iCal and on the iOS devices.
So here's the question: is there a way to go through and disable all these spurious event alerts? I've been disabling them as the event reminders come up, but it's irritating. It would be nice if there was a way to turn them off all in one shot somehow.

CUOM 2.3 sends multiple notifications for Event StoppedGSUPerformancePolling with same time stamps

I have a CUOM Version 2.3 which shows mutiple notifications per Device for Event StoppedGSUPerformancePolling with same time stamps. The message below is generated from the default All_Events for all devices.
Does anyone have a solution for that.

if you get SNMP timeout on multiple devices then the fault usually lies in the path that the polling follows to get to these devices and back to the server.
The problem obviously lies in the part path they have in common.
It is not unusual to see the highest backbone loads during the night, due to backups being taken.
Make sure the most important inter-switch links have no errors.
I would rather fix this then turn off alerting.

Is it possible to send event notifications to mutiple email address.
We use Convergence with latest patch level and Calendar Server 6.3

I believe Calendar Server 6 supports only one notification address. CS7 supports multiple.

I've been curious about this issue as well. I think it would be nice if there were more options to select the default alarm... from within the preferences themselves. Even being able to choose how many days before vs. always figuring out how many minutes are in multiple days.
While someone has found a method for changing the sound to accompany messages, users are still not able to select the type. I prefer message only (no sound), although I supposed this is the same as the current default minus any sound. I tried blank and "" entries for 'Default alarm sound' in the .plist file with no success (blank reverts back to Basso, and "" just didn't work).
I wonder if there are some other items that could be listed in the .plist file to offer more choices such as "Default alarm type". Is there a way to figure out what key variables/values iCal uses for? Someone must have figured out that iCal will look in the .plist file for a 'default sound value'. I'm guessing that there are more of these values that could be set by the user.
A similar question - it would be nice to be able to set the default alarm time for all-day events. I suppose it doesn't matter all that much since 11:45pm probably means I'll just get the message the next morning; I still guess I'd prefer something like 8am though.

Multiple seats for event booking

Hi everyone,
My event bookings form is currently set up to only take 1 booking at a time. I found the information at the following url to extend the form for multiple bookings:

It said to add the following input field to the form:

I just have two questions about this. Firstly, if I go into my form and add in a custom field, I get the following code:

Each of the "name", "id" and "for" attributes in the above code, all have a custom field number, ie. Custom_330508. From what I have read, apparently I'm not supposed to change these as this is what BC uses to insert the data into the correct field within the CRM. The "id" and "name" values from the input field that I got from the abovementoned url are:
id=BookingAllocation name=BookingAllocation
So the problem is how can I get it to work if I'm not supposed to change the custom field number from my BC form. Also, once a person has entered a number into that field how can I get that field to update the amount field lower down on the form, ie. to multiply the number by the event cost?

In iChat 2 it was possible to have one name and Chat to it (Text only) in two locations (Chatting to your self as it were)
In iChat from iChat 3 you can set each Mac at one location to allow Multiple Logins with the same Screen Name.
This on the whole means that all computers will "Answer" an IM and show at least one side (incoming) of the Chat.
Now in addition to this you can also set iChat to Not accept Off Line IMs (either by answering the questioning IM from AIM or on the AIM web site - you can login with your @mac.com name)
as well as that iChat can be set in the General Preferences to "When iChat is Quit, Set My Status to Off Line"
this effects not only Off Line IMS but also the fact iChat will start Up if the computer is On and someone IMs you.
My experience is that it does not seem to be consistent and that the above settings seem to have something to do with it.
There does not seem to be a limit to the number of Multiple Logins that you can have. (seats as you put it)
Jabber accounts do not allow Multiple logins so the issue does not arise as you cannot essentially login on multiple computers.
Summary.
The best thing I can suggest is tweaking the General settings and see if things change

Getting alarms for events in delegate calendar, but alarm not set in event

I use iCal as a front-end to Google Apps calendar (gCal). I am using the CalDAV interface to gCal. I set up iCal to sync 1) with my gCal and 2) with 2 other gCals, of business associate, via iCal delegates. This is mostly working. In iCal I see the events for all 3 calendars and syncing seems OK.
The problem is that for one of the delegate calendars, I get Alarm pop-ups for every event scheduled by that colleague. In most cases I am not an attendee in the event. When I look at the event settings, in this delegate calendar, the "Alarm" is set to none.
I'd really like to stop getting this extraneous Alarm pop-ups. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Actually, not quite ditto. I am not using gCal. I have a CalDAV server, with two calendars served, my wife's and mine. Each of us is a delegate of the other. On iCal on her computer, she has "ignore alerts" set for all my calendars, and this works. However, she gets the alerts on her iphone. I cannot find an option to "ignore alerts" for the iPhone calendar app. What am I missing here?

Actionscript 3 - Multiple variables for event listener.

Ok, I have a question (of course that is the reason why I am here). I have been focusing on PHP a lot lately and just had a client that requires an MP3 player playing multiple songs so I had to whip out my rusty actionscript skills. I have the player completed and it is working as desired. The down side is it has multiple songs. I am using separate functions for each song and separate event listeners. My main question is there a way to combine these funtions into one and just use the event listener to pass another variable to the functions? Below is a sample of one of the code for Song1. I would like to make it so anywhere there is Song1 in the code, I can make it a variable so I can put in for example (Song2, Song3, Song4, etc.) This way, I can have one or two functions handle all the songs instead of having to copy, paste and then find and replace.

But if I reset the bolean to false, if the visitor goes to replay that song, it will try to load the song again. I did find away around having to the use the boolean value though and accomplish the same thing (I am loving this). I am using:

If there are bytes, then the song is loaded OR loading. In order to check if the song is completely loaded before it plays, I am using this:

Multiple Places for Event Folder?

I have a Christmas 2008 Event Folder - I went to 2 cities for this christmas - my family in Smithville, GA and my husbands family in Jonesville, GA... All the photos inside the folder are labeled according to each city, but...
I would like to just have "one" event folder named: Christmas 2008. So when naming the Event Folder - do I have to choose which city I want to put as the place name, or is there a way to add both cities somehow?

Yon can events and name them as you see fit
If you adding a place to an event it is assigned to the event (everything in the event)
YOu can select one or move photos and click on the "i" to turn them over and assign a place to them instead of assigning a lace to the entire event

Alarms not appearing for events - Agent Not Responding

Hi
I'm hoping someone may be able to help with a frustrating issue.
I have a setup with SunMC 4.0 monitoring approx 15 SunMC agents. The problem is some of these agents are not displaying alarms for events that occur.
E.g. if I trigger an alarm on a host by say filling up a filesystem, on some hosts an alarm will appear in the Alarm tab as exepcted, but on other hosts no alarm appears and hence I cannot acknowledge the alarm.
After doing a bit of digging I have found the following:
1) When the event is triggered on the client the trap is sent to the server
2) The server then tries to communicate with the agent on the client and I see this error in the event.log

3) If I snoop between the 2 servers I can see communication between the server and the client on port 1161 so dont believe it is a network issue
4) I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the agent. This strangely cured it on one server with the problem, but on another server the problem persists even after reinstalling the agent multiple times
5) I have logged into the postgress database and can see that events are not being logged in the events table (hence not being displayed in the Sun MC console).
6) I have tried reseeding the agent and that makes no difference
7) I have ensured the agent is listening on one network interface by adding snmpBindAnyAddr = "0" to the agent section of the domain-config.x file
I am not sure where else to look for pointers as to what is going on. What beats me is that the servers which the agents are running on all have identical builds built from jumpstart and are on the same network, yet some work and some dont!

Hi there,
I found a solution to get the alarmflow going again:
1. Delete the node from SunMC Java Console
2. Stop the agent
3. Remove all logfiles in /var/opt/SUNWsymon/log
4. Start the agent
5. Wait 2 minutes and add the node in SunMC Java Console
After these steps I can see alarms coming through and when adjusting thresholds I can trigger new alarms which show up on the Hostview Alarms tab.
Unfortunately, this only seems to be a temporary solution, at least for some nodes.
Anyway, I figured I'd share this info with everyone. Maybe it will help with your investigation and if someone finds a permanent solution please feel free to post it here ;-)

Duplicate alarms for calendar events on N9

I noticed I get multiple alarms for calendar events on my N9. For some events, I get four times the same notification. I also sometimes get notifications for deleted events.
I sync my calendar over bluetooth. Since I had some troubles setting up the sync, I deleted the calendar a few times and synced again. So I have the impression that the alarms of the events of the deleted calendars are still stored in some database. I guess this causes the same alarm to be triggered multiple times and alarms for deleted events to be displayed.
Is there a way to re-generate the internal alarms database?
(I did already upgrade to PR1.1, this didn’t fix it.)

I used BT sync with Windows 7 (64 bit), because I was not able to do USB sync (as N9 is not supported by any Nokia PC sync soft). After that I had a real mess: Each event was multiplied to occur multiple times during a day, thoughout each week, throughour each year, e.g. for example meeting scheduled for 10am on October 20, 2011, occurred a number of times on the same day, and each previous week until 2005 (when my calendar starts). An event that was scheduled back in 2005 occurred each week throughout 2011. The same thing happened to my Outlook. So you can imagine a mess that I got with my calendar after syncing with N9. Thanks that I had intact calendar on my Ipad and was able to restore my Outlook. I had to to manually correct calendar on N9 (because any further attempts to sync with Outlook) resulted in the same mess. When I say manually I mean that I deleted all entries (takes time) and re-entered only ones that I really needed (such as birthdays, other anniversaries and meetings from October 2011 forward). After that I did not risk syncing N9 with Outlook anymore in expectation of a decent sync software from Nokia (which I doubt will come, since even their latest soft Nokia Suite is not supporting N9 (although there some users were able to successfully sync with PC Suite, and some installed previous version of Ovi Suite, upgraded it to Nokia Suite and it works now for them -- but not for my very special N9). Having fianlly lost confidence in Noikia I decided to become a happy user of iPhone (with all or at least most soft needed being put in place by Apple or 3rd parties).

No Email Alarm for All-Day Events

Hello, Everyone,
I've got a desktop and a laptop, and I've been syncing the iCal calendars on each for some time. However, this has resulted in one annoying thing - whenever an event comes up in iCal that I'd set an email alarm for, I would receive multiple alarms, one from each machine.
I thought I'd solve this problem by moving the calendars to my server (a headless Mini running 10.4.6 Server), and thus only get one email alarm. However, since I moved it, I'm getting no alarms.
I've run some tests, and confirmed that if I set up a test event at a specific time, I will get an email alarm for it. However, if the event is set up to be an all-day event, no alarm.
I've restarted the server, I've made sure the iCalScheduler is running...these calendars have worked for years, and now I'm perplexed. Any thoughts?

Well, I couldn't figure this one out, so I just moved the calendars back to my main machine, and published them to the web for sharing with my laptop. On my main machine they worked fine.
Can't figure out why it wouldn't work on the server. Maybe it'll change with Leopard's iCal server.

Multiple Alarms on Random Events

I have discovered many, seemingly random, calendar events with multiple duplicate alarms. I am convinced that this is causing sluggish and other quirky behaviors in iCal. It is taking forever to delete them individually. Is there any way to delete all alarms for selected, or all, calendars in one action? Perhaps a terminal command or file that can be deleted?
I also want to make sure that the duplicate alarms are not put back into the calendars when I sync with .mac.

Everything works fine, except that when the All Day event is checked, the display screwed like this:
I guess that when the event is All Day Event, the Start Time and End Time is not filled by the user (although they show in the form as 12:00 am -11:59PM), so the top line space is now used to display Title and Location. Since the Top Space for
Start and End Time is a single line, it displays everything on one line. Plus the script does not act on this space.
Does anyone know a fix for this problem?

When you add an event to the Calendar.app of the iPhone 4 there is an "Alert" option which should give you the desired result.
