Multiple All Day Events, Printing "Order"

I need to create a log, where 4 fields are used for people to fill in. For ease of explanation, I'll call them "A" "B" "C" and "D".
I have tried using one Calendar, and creating 4 all day events. When I do this, and go to Print the thing, the events get all jumbled around. On some days the order will be A, B, C, D; and on others D, A, C, B.
So then I got the bright idea of creating 4 Calendars; A, B, C and D, and in each Calendar, putting one all day even per calendar. This still causes iCal to sit there and mess it up. One week, the events will appear in the correct order, and others, it won't.
I'm fresh out of ideas, and can't figure out how to make the thing print the events I want in the order I want them. Any help would be MOST appreciated!!!

I'm having the same problem only not just when printing. My All-Day events (which I use more as notes than actual events) switch places all the time and I can't make any sense out of it. I thought it had to do with alphabetical order, but that's not it, then I thought it had to do with the order I typed them, but that's not it either. It's particularly annoying when I have two days with multiple identical events and yet they don't have the same order. There's got to be a way to order them manually, but if there isn't, Apple should add it quickly.

  • All Day Events shift order randomly when printing!

When trying to print in month view, my all day events shift order within their day in a seemingly random way. This is a problem because I want certain all day events to line up next to each other day after day in a specific color coded way. This has been impossible for me to accomplish because for some reason what the month view looks like is never what the preview or printing looks like. Is it possible to lock the position of all day events so they print as they appear in month view?

  • Organizing multiple all day events in one day

I'm trying to figure out if I can use iCal to act as my doggy daycare biz calendar.
I tried adding each dog's appointment as an all day event, creating multiple all day events per day, however I can't figure out if there is a way to organize the order of these events. They seem to appear in the order I add them in and I can't change that. Especially when I make some of the entries repeat on a daily basis the order just gets more and more messed up. I've tried doing this with only 5 clients as a test and things are looking horrid so far. I would need to be able to enter about 20 clients, and under multiple calendars.
Would be nice to be able to have this on my computer and on my iphone by using the iCal as opposed to maintaining my current pen and paper system. Any suggestions?

You can't change the order of the event, they do go in based on the order they are entered.

  • Multiple all-day events and one event disappears.

I have multiple all-day events (in different calendars) and now sometimes (not always) one event won't show in iCal. It's still there cause it's now "....." instead of the name of the event.
The old multiple all-day events show perfect but when I try to add another multiple all-day event now, it will only show one all-day event. It will show as maybe timed event as I wish but only one all-day event.
I don't get why this has happened cause I have not changed anything from before except for maybe timezone.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you

It seems that iCal only displays 5 all-day events, even if you have plenty of room in the calendar window. Change them to timed events and you can see more. Very annoying. I'd like to find a way to change that.

  • Order of all day events • printing list view without empty days

I have only just started to use iCal in a work context. I need to programme over 500 events in several different locations (probably up to 10 locations on one day). I have divided these locations into five regions, and have made a calendar for each region.
Times are not important - just the dates, so I have been entering these events as all day events. What I would like to be able to do is ensure that in the month view (and particularly the print out) that the events I put in are always ordered in the same order that I have set up the calendars in the sidebar (I would also like more than 4 events displayed per day in the month view, but that's another matter!). I have been looking on these discussion boards and elsewhere on the internet and this appears to be a feature that many users would like implemented.
I would also then like to be able to print out separate list views for each region (calendar), but missing out the empty days. This also seems to be a feature that is wished for by many users, and has been requested for some time.
Any news on whether such changes will be made? Come on Apple, I mostly love your hardware and software, but there are quite a few of these little functionality issues scattered around the place.

In short, no - there is nothing you can do to determine the the display order of a series of all-day events in iCal. While the appear to generally be listed either in the order in which they were created or in the order in which your calendars appear in the left sidebar, even this is not always the case.

  • Multiple All Day Events Missing in Week View

    Hello,
I just got my first BB a Curve 8900 and am very impressed.
The only thing I don't like is that if I have more than one all day event on a particular day, in Week View I can't see them.
(I've used a variety of other phones/PDAs over the years and this is not normally an issue)
I've googled this and haven't found much relating to it, other than people not seeing all day events on the home screen or something.
Is this a BB 'feature'? Is there a work around?
I'd like to be able to see my week ahead at a glance and don't seem to be able to.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello RobertBL,
I have the same problem. In week view i only see 1 event on days with multiple day events. I use firmware version 4.6.1.152 (platform 4.2.0.91). My Curve 8900 is T-Mobile branded (Netherlands). Until now i haven't found a work around. In other calendars (pocket informant and Agendus) i don't have this problem in weekview, so it must be a BB firmware bug.
    Greatings

  • All Day Events - adjust print settings?

Is it possible to adjust the way all day events print? I need them to wrap text, rather than truncate the text with ellipses. My timed appointments wrap nicely, so is there a setting I'm missing.

  • Printing, including all day events... & changing page setup

I publish, for print, our school district calendar.
    can I:
make all day events print, completely? and not just the first line?
change the page setup? (Printing horizontially... one month 1/2 on one page, the 2nd 1/2 on the other?)
    iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.6)
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I am in the IT department and a fellow coworker is having the same issue. Unfortunely, I had to tell him to use Entourage for now, because when you print a month view from there it will expand all day events. I wish Apple had a fix for this, as it used to print just fine in 10.3 Panther.
    Does anyone have a fix?

  • All day events from Google truncated on Pre

An 'all day' event created in Google which lasts more than 1 day will show with the last day of the event missing on the Pre. I just deleted and reset the account (Palm recommend fix) and all the multiple 'all day' events still show one day short on the Pre. However the info in the event details on the Pre indicate the correct date range. Eg: I just created a 4 day event from Nov 4 to Nov 8 on Google. Pre shows Nov 4 to 7 graphically only but with Nov 4 to 8 in the details.
This ONLY happens if the 'all day' event is created on Google first and editing the event on the Pre will not change the incorrect display.
Similarly, if an event is created on my Pre it show's one day short on my wife's Pre because the info was synced from Google, so sharing Google calendars is unreliable when using 'all day' events.
Both Pre's and Google are on same Time zone. Google Accounts and Pre's have been reset with no changes.
Has anyone had this issue and does anyone know of a fix?
    Cheers

Common issue, and there's no fix.  Any multi-day events that you label as "all-day" will not display the last day on the Pre.  You can make the last day show up by starting such events at midnight of the first day, and ending them at 1159pm of the last day.  Only problem with that technique is that you'll see colored event bars all over any calendar view you choose (instead of the "all-day" event button at the top of a calendar view).
My solution was to use the technique I just described, but since it renders the Pre calendar pretty much useless due to all the bars all over the place, I now use the "Agenda" homebrew app available at Precentral.net.  Agenda syncs with the Pre calendar, but it displays events in list form which, if you use my technique, makes events MUCH easier to read.  And you'll always show the last day.
Why Palm hasn't fixed this is boggling.

  • How can I print multiple lines in my All Day Events (month view)?

Does anyone know if there is anyway to print multiple lines for all day events? When I print my iCal from a monthly view, my all day events (positioned as a header) only print the words that can fit into the daily box, instead of going into multiple lines and displaying the whole text.
    For example:
Los Angeles County Fair, Don't forget to pick up John and Jen
    will print as:
    Los Angeles County Fa......Jen
Anyone have any idea how to solve this?
P.S. I have already tried meddling with fonts and page sizes to no avail.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
So far as I know, an allday event only ever shows a single line of text regardless of view.
Consequently, how much you can see is governed by the width of the day (or days) in that view.

  • The order of my ical 'all day' events changes when i go into print mode?

The order of my ical 'all day' events changes when i go into print mode. What can i do to keep the order of events i so painstakingly created?

  • How do I control the order of all day events in iCal?

How do I control the order of all day events in iCal?  Even if I painstakingly try to
re-order the events the way I want them, when they print, they are in a different order.
I have searched other forums and no one seems to have an answer to this.  Has
    anyone found the solution?  Thanks!

I also have this issue, where the events in iCal change when viewing in print preview or printing. I even notice they will switch if I try to print again??!!! I am using different calendars to show different colours. and they are setup on iCloud not on my mac.
it is becomign frustrating when I print 2 months worth and ssome events are correct in order and alas some will change when I print again!
    Can anyone help please?
    thanks

  • Put All Day Events in a New Order?

I have some events that I list as all day events that repeat so I can see which of my day care kids I have on which days. These events are all in 1 calendar (I have multiple calendars). There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the order they are listed on different days. Not alphabetical, not by order I entered them. I want to arrange them so the kids are alphabetical so it makes more sense when I glance at it. Can I rearrange all day events? I have tried dragging them around but nothing changes.

I too, am having this problem. I'm a new iCal user, and this issue alone is enough for me to stop using this application until this issue is corrected.
There seems to be no consistency in the way events are displayed, and events that are manually rearranged (in the order that I would like them) just revert back to the way they were.
    VERY buggy application.

  • Order of All-Day Events

Does anyone know of a way to rearrange the order of all-day events? There are days when I have several all-day events in the same calendar, but would like one event to be listed before the others. I've tried dragging them to the order in which I'd like them, but It doesn't seem to work.
    Thanks

  • Ordering Repeating All-Day Events on the calendar

Is it possible to order a list of all-day events that are repeating on multiple days of a calendar?

If you have iCloud calendars set up on your iPhone, you should have several iCloud calendars.  I have Calendar, Work, Home.  When you create an all day even put it in one of the calendars.  For instance, i would put it in the Calendar calendar.  You can select the calendar when entering the event by tapping Calendar label.  You can then hide the all day events by tapping the Calendars button located top left on screen (portrait mode), then tap the name of the calendar you used to uncheck.  When click done, your all day events will be hidden.  Note you will have to rehide the calendar after adding a new all day event.
