Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes you can or should be able to do that, do you get an error message, what exactly happens.

Multiple Apple Ids - One Mac Book
Hello,
I need some advice. My husband and I have been going along just fine with two separate apple IDs and one computer. But recently we replaced our computer and now we're setting up our accounts on our new mac book. We've come across the issue that only one apple ID can be associated with this device and the other is locked for 90 days.
I have read lots about this and I hope I am wrong in understanding that only one apple ID can be associated per lap top?
We are a young family and I cant afford a second computer just make itunes happy. My husband and I dont want to share an apple ID and I understand that even if we wanted to accounts cant be merged.
So my question is... how is a family expected to use a lap top to manage multiple itunes accounts?
Homesharing only makes sense if we've ALWAYS had one ID, but we have two now and each have established libraries - so what is the advice in managing this going forward?
We have:
- Apple TV, with each itunes account available and easy to switch between
- Individual Iphones with individual itunes IDs
-Mac Book Pro
Would really appreciate any help or advice on this matter...
Warmly,
MichelleSince the three of you are using separate iTunes accounts, then you each need to run your own itunes, which should be logged into the itunes store using each individual account. For that, on a laptop, you each need to have your own computer accounts.

Multiple Apple TVs, one iTunes source...
Before I jump in and buy a couple of these for my house, I wanted to make sure that I can set up two rooms with Apple TVs and have one computer elsewhere feeding both. From the website, it is not clear if there is a one-to-one relationship between an iTunes server and Apple TV client, or if more than one client can hook up and the system will work.
Can someone inform me?well is there any way for me to change that helpful to solved? I thought I could do both heh.

cannot update username on ipod for itunes
why are they all different. Why don't I have just one id?
I cannot update apps.
password for username not recognized
I want one apple id for everything
one password for everything
I cannot retrieve or reset anything for itunes to update appsIt appears that you have apps on the iPod that wer purchased with more than one iTunes account. If one from more than one iTunes account need updating, you need to update them one at a time (not update all) until all the remianing apps were purchased from one account. You may need to change the accont the iPId is signed into by go to Settings>Store and signing out and in.
Accounts can't be merged. -
Multiple apple users one account woes
Can someone help me?
I have one apple ID that I use for Itunes, AppleTV, Icloud and my Iphone. My problem is now I have 3 Iphones under one roof now; can I still use the same apple ID for all Iphones?
If I use the same ID how will Icloud know which Iphone is which? I got 3 users on my computer and over 100Gb on my Itunes library how will that work?
I would like each phone to be separate (contacts and photograph) but still able to use the Itunes library.
Thanks
gusHudgie's advice is correct. But if you want more detailled instructions read this Apple document:

Multiple Apple TVs - one iTunes Host ?
Is that possible at all ? I would choose Apple TVs to equip a building if it is possible to hook them up to one iTunes host.
I've built similar systems for audio, with Airport Expresses.
A second question I couldn't find an answer for:
Is there password protection for streaming access from a mobile device ?
I don't want guest A to be able to stream his stuff to room B....seahorsecowboy wrote:

yes, providing your network has enough bandwidth to handle all the traffic.
the original appletv had a limit of 5 devices to 1 itunes library, not sure if the new one has the same limit as it is using a different method to connect to itunes (HomeSharing).

that is AirPlay you are talking about, and that isn't available yet (that only comes with iOS4.2 which isn't out yet).
so until that is released, you won't find an answer to that. however i doubt there will be password protection for that. -
Multiple Apple IDs, one iTunes library
I'm backing up 3 iPhones to the iTunes on my laptop.
iPhone 1: My iPhone 5, syncs and backup to iTunes via USB cable.
iPhone 2: My dad's iPhone 4S, syncs and backup to iTunes automatically when charging over WiFi.
iPhone 3: My mom's iPhone 4S, syncs and backup to iTunes automatically when charging over WiFi.
We each have our own Apple ID and do not intend to share apps and music with each other.
The problem with this setup is, for some reasons, the apps that my parents installed on their iPhones are now asking for my Apple ID when updating.
How should I prevent this from happening? Am I missing something?
My goal is simple, I want apps installed on my parents' phones to remain theirs, and automatically backs up their iPhones to the iTunes on my laptop whenever they are plugged in and charging.Since the three of you are using separate iTunes accounts, then you each need to run your own itunes, which should be logged into the itunes store using each individual account. For that, on a laptop, you each need to have your own computer accounts.

Multiple Apple ID's on one Mac
Hi, ive read all other question related to miltiple apple id's. but they dont answere my question.
I got 3 Apple ID's. I want them all activated on my macbook pro. Google search says i can do it. I have to create for each apple ID a seperate iTunes Library (i followed this guide http://www.imore.com/how-use-multiple-apple-ids-one-computer-and-itunes)
but that doesnt work.
I cant add my other two ID's. iTunes keeps telling me i can not add another Apple ID. I have to wait 90 days.
So, thats kinda weird. Apple does allow to register multiple Apple ID's. But why cant we use em?
I asked Apple Support to transfer all content from my previous Apple ID's to my new one. but they wont do it.
Right now i can not use my own stuff. Thats so unnecessary.
any help would be highly appreciated.
thanksWhy do you have 3 Apple IDs?
Apple IDs cannot be merged and items bought with one Apple ID cannot be transfered to another. A computer can only be associated with one Apple ID every 90 days for automatic downloads, re-downloading of past purchases or iTunes Match. There is no getting around this restriction.
One computer can be autorized to play content purchased with multiple Apple IDs, though.
My suggestion is to pick on Apple ID and stick with it for the future. Once you have decided, log into one of the other Apple IDs and download every avialble item you bought with that ID to your computer. Wait 90 days. Log into the other ID and do the same thing. Wait 90 days. Finally log into the "main" Apple ID and stay logged in. Keep current backups of all your purchased items on a local, external HDD. -

Having trouble setting up multiple apple tvs one one itune account
Do the sync setup for each ATV from the Computers section of its settings menu and give each one a different device name in iTunes.

can you have multiple Apple TV's in the same house and network? If so how do you know which one to pick from your Idevice?
Yes, there are even defaults for naming them, such as LivingRoom, Bedroom, etc, or you can even enter your own name with the remote for each AppleTV.

How do I use the time capsule to share itunes music between multiple apple devices? Also, is it possible to control the music on one device using another, and how do you set this up?
unless i'm missing something, i think you got mixed up, this is easy google for walk throughs
i'm assuming this is the new 3tb tc AC or 'tower' shape, if so, its wifi will run circles around your at&t device
unplug the at&t box for a minute and plug it back in
factory reset your tc - unplug it, hold down reset and keep holding while you plug it back in - only release reset when amber light flashes in 10-20s
connect the tc to your at&t box via eth in the wan port, wait 1 minute, open airport utility look in 'other wifi devices' to setup the tc
create a new wifi network (give it a different name than your at&t one) and put the tc in bridge mode (it may do this automatically for you, but you should double check) under the 'network' tab
login to your at&t router and disable wifi on it
add new clients to the new wifi network, and point your Macs to the time machine for backups -

You don't. You can't combine Apple IDs.

Multiple apple dropboxes for one account
Can you have multiple apple dropbox accounts in the public folder for one user account? EX: instructor account and 3 different public dropboxes for 3 different users on the same instructor account? Using mountain lion and the users are not mac (computer) experts they are just "users"
You don't need to create two separate libraries.
If you want to sync different content onto each device, select the device in iTunes, select the tabs across the top and sync what you want.
To make it easier, create different playlists for each device and sync only those playlists. -
Can i setup multiple Apple IDs on one computer
Hi
My partner and I recently sold our laptops and bought an iMac and want to keep our itunes, music, playlists separate. Is it possible to setup multiple Apple IDs on one computer?
Thanks
DeniseEach person in your home can have their own Apple ID provided it is tied the their own separate email address.
iTunes permits up to five authorized computers connected to a single Apple ID: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
For this all to work well, however, each user in your household should have a separate user account on the computer they commonly use. -
