Multiple apple ID's on 1 Imac, how does it work?

Dear all, we have recently bought an Imac but are now struggling with multiple Apple id's on 1 iMac, i have created two separate userprofiles but everytime we try synchronise one of our devices (iphones and ipads), it seems to mix up our apple id's and purchases.  Also the message appears that if you change the id you cannot purchase anything for six weeks with this id?
We have our own Apple Id's connected to our own devices and only want to share the Imac to synchronise Our own Itunes stuff etc on our own profiles.

Hi, what happens if you edit that info in the other account , say at the App Store or itUnes Store to match the other account, does it hold then?

I have added a separate user account for each Apple ID, but the iMac decides to update software, it won't let you if it was downloaded under the other apple ID.

  • How does Remote work with Apple TV?

How does Remote work with Apple TV?
    1. Does Remote, "Play" the music that resides on your iPod Touch>Apple TV>Home Speakers.
    OR
Does Remote "Control" the music that resides on Apple TV HD>Home Speakers.
(If so... say you have a iPod Touch that only holds 8GB's but your music collection on your Apple TV exceeds that amount.
Will Remote still "Control" the larger music collection on Apple TV or your computer?)
    2. Will iPod Wifi work on a patio outside a home to control Apple TV inside the home?
    thank you in advance, Tom

Remote is a way to control iTunes on either your computer or Apple TV using a WiFi connection. See this article for complete instructions.

  • Getting my laptop fixed , how does it work?

I know it may sound really basic but how does it work if I want to get my laptop fixed? Do I just walk into the store and find a random assistant or what?

You'll want to set up an appointment online before going to the store.  They are typically too busy to see walk-ins within any reasonable period of time:
    http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
They'll have a display showing the appointments and your place in line.

  • What is iTunes Match and how does it work?

What is iTunes Match and how does it work? I have several tunes on my computer that do not show complete. The source of these tunes are from my own CDs.

iTunes match - http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/ - see FAQ at end too
Basically it looks at the music you have in iTunes.  If it sees the equivalent on the iTunes Store site it does nothing, but it makes that copy accessible to you to download.  If you have music  it doesn't it will upload a version from your computer to the site that only you can access from anywhere online.
In your case if you have incomplete tracks it will not fix them.  It does some kind of audio fingerprinting to make sure you aren't just feeding it a bunch of 60s demonstration cuts and trying to get whole tracks back.

  • How does airport work?

If I get an airport express, will I have a wifi network by just plugging it into the wall? How does it work?

Basically, yes. The AirPort Express Base Station (AX) is a wireless Internet router. By default, it will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (or SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Computers, which are Wi-Fi enabled should be able to connect to this network.
To gain Internet access, the AX needs to be connected to an Internet Broadband modem via an Ethernet cable connecting the two.

  • ORACLETEXTSEARCH - How Does it work?

    Hi experts,
I had a many disccusions with my coleagues about ORACLETEXTSEARCH in the UCM11g. We found that we don't undestrand How does it work.
    I have a basic questions:
    1. Does ORACLETEXTSEARCH use only database engine for the indexing?
    2. Can I start fulltext indexing without Oracle UCM? Only by database.
    3. Are some differences between UCM10g and 11g?
Thank you for the answers and the explanation.
    Martin

    1. Oracle text is a DB tool installed at the DB level, however as others say the triggers to kick it off are done by UCM not independently at the DB. I do not think it could work that way.
    2. No, but other indexing options are available like SES
    3. 10g required a component to be added to the UCM server and required an 11.1.0.7.0 or greater oracle DB. 11g requires no extra component but still has the db requirement.
SES can be configured to index multiple different repositories (including UCM) and you can control the index rebuilds directly from SES as an option for number 2.

  • How does autoFS work?

How does it work? I guess on a more technical aspect. Why do some of my samba shares not show up? Would they show up better if they were afp or ftp or something? And why do they then show up after I go to server and put in the ip address? I've added a share to my login items but I guess that only means when I boot up and not when I login from sleep. I even have an alias to a folder on the share on my desktop hoping that would create the link needed but it doesn't really work. How can I make the Finder/AutoFS scan the network for shares?
