Multiple Apple ID's on IPad

My wife and I are getting a new IPad on Friday.  I have an Apple ID and she does not.  Can I set up her a Apple ID and then we use our own ID's on the IPad when we use it at seperate times?

The iPad is basically a single user device - you can only have one set of apps and content on the iPad, and only one iTunes account can be logged in at a time.

After calling AT&T tech support one more time, and explaining to them that the glitch was on their network, they admitted that the problem was at their tower...
I continued to use the phone on EDGE mode for two more days until the problem was fixed.
I even got a call back from a tech support guy asking me if my phone was working properly....
I wish they would have admitted to the problem before I sat at the apple store for 2 hours.

You can access the itunes store without an account at all.
You would need a method of payment in order to purchase from the itunes store.

  • HT204053 I have multiple apple devices, 2x phones ipad etc, but all are through the same email and I only get the storage space for one device, what should I do?

I have multiple devices all under the same id and email but I don't get multiple icloud storage space and it's running out!
Can anyone help as I've just bought an iphone for my daughter and would like to link it as well.
Thanks in anticipation of your help.

One icloud account gets a 5 GB of storage, regardless of the number of devices connecting to it.  But you're in luck, you can buy more storage for the account if you are running low.
As for your daughter, be sure to get her own icloud account, otherwise she'll end up getting all your email, contacts, etc.  And if she deletes any of this data, it will be deleted on your devices as well.  Note:  you can all keep using the same ID for the itunes store for sharing purchased items.

  • Multiple apple Id emails on one iPad

I have two apple IDs, and I use the provided icloud.com email addresses for school and work, but I can't have my iPad 2 register them both because they're apple IDs.... Any suggestions?

Under "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" you should be able to 'add account' and have multiple apple id's. I do this on my family members devices for the find my iPhone option and to sync notes between us.

  • HT204053 Can multiple apple ID users share the iPad easily?

Hi, just purchased the new IPad for me and my partner to share, we both have apple ID's and assumed we could easily access emails etc. Does anyone know how we can both get equal share of the device? Cannot find a way to swap between ID's except in music when warnings indicate that another user would not be able to use iPad for 90 days, hence we did not continue. Are they really only designed for single person usage?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The iPad is more of a personal device than a family device, you may however be interested in adding secondary iCloud accounts (settings > mail, contacts, calendars)
You can only have one primary account but multiple secondary accounts, secondary accounts cannot use photostream or document sharing.

  • TS3899 Why Do I have a problem Getting my email on multiple Apple devices iPad notifies me that Email is in use by another device Which is my iPhone This is an intermittent problem

Why am I having a problem Receiving email on multiple Apple devices My brand-new iPad informs me that my email is used by another device which is my iPhone 4S This is an intermittent problem and does not always happen

    Hello Cyko69
If you are seeing a Mailbox Locked alert, the following article will explain what is going on. Typically with certain type of emails, it is meant to be accessed one at a time. The article will give some suggestions on how to resolve the issue.
iOS: 'Mailbox Locked', account is in use on another device, or prompt to re-enter POP3 password

  • I need to Mirror the same content of iPad on multiple Apple TV simultaneously, can it be done

I need to Mirror the same content of iPad on multiple Apple TV simultaneously.
I have a iPad and three Apple TV in three different rooms, and I would like to play the same video or mirror simultaneously on all the Apple TV located in my three rooms. Is that possible?
I would also like to know is it possible to have two iPad mirrored on to a single apple tv, so that I can view both my iPad screen on same apple TV simultaneously.
    Any suggestions?

doubt it most local area networks would die having to stream such amount of data

  • Can I use Apple Configurator 1.6 to install Apps from multiple iTunes accounts on 30 iPads

Can I use Apple Configurator 1.6 to install Apps from multiple iTunes accounts on 30 iPads in South Korea?

Thank you again.  I am actually just using a single computer at thsi time but will be setting up a Mac Mini in a day or so.
I actually believe I authorized my Mac Book for both my wife and my iTunes account.  Yesterday when I hooked her iPhone up it told me that my computer was not authorized to download an app, i had to authorize this macbook.
So if the Apps from both iTunes account  is on my Mac Book and I hook up my iPhone it will allow my to transfer the apps from my computer to my iphone?  So lets say I am logged into iTunes account #1 and I try to use an app from iTunes account #2 will I have to do anything special?
    Again thanks

  • Multiple Apple Id's on Supervised ipads

I've prepared (using Apple Configurator) our school ipads and now want to give a group to our preschool teachers.  I've created an apple id on the computer that is the school Apple ID and I've loaded a bunch of free apps onto the pads (still need to set up VPP stuff).  Is there a way the teachers can input their own personal Apple ID's so they can download Apps or music that they already own?  I tried assigning one ipad to me and on that ipad I deleted the icloud account and put in my personal icloud account, but when I go to itunes or the App store, it still thinks I'm using the school Apple ID.

you need to change the account in "iTunes & App Store" in settings

  • How can we use multiple Apple on IDs on an iPad?

I have just bought my girlfriend an iPad 2 which we have set up with a new Apple ID in her name.  She is using the iPad fine and has already used her Apple ID to download some music from iTunes onto the iPad along with some Apps.  However, I have a lot of music which I have downloaded from iTunes onto my PC using my own Apple ID. We also have an Apple TV and I use an iPhone 4 which has been updated to iOS 5.01.
What I am confused about is how the new iCloud Service, iTunes-in-the-Cloud, iTunes Match, iTunes WiFi synching and Home Sharing all work together.  Ideally, my girlfriend would like to be able to access all the music and movies I have downloaded onto the PC from iTunes using my own Apple ID.  Should I use my Apple ID on her iPad as well as her ID for HomeSharing to facilitate this, or would this confuse the iPad?  However, I thought one of the ideas of iCloud was that any music you have purchased on one device (i.e. the PC) is automatically sent to every other Apple device you use.  Or do you have to subscribe to iTunes Match to make this happen?  Should my girlfriend be synching her iPad with the PC to gain access to all of my music, or would this confuse matters and delete everything she has bought on the iPad from iTunes using her own Apple ID?
Is it better to "send" music and movies to our Apple TV using AirPlay or using HomeSharing?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Office is not available for iOS.

  • Multiple apple ID's - iCloud drive and google drive?

I've got a variety of apple devices and am trying to work out the best way to keep documents in sync across them all. The ideal solution would be to use iCloud drive but my macbook and iPhone are on one apple ID and my wife iPad and iPhone are on another. I'd like to keep them on separate apple ID's as we have different contact groups and don't want to see iCloud tabs for each other, etc. Plus backing up 4 devices to one iCloud account won't leave much space for anything else and when Microsoft give out 30gb, google give out 10gb the 5gb iCloud allowance is pretty poor.
At the moment we use google drive to store all our documents and just access this on our devices via the drive app. I'd really like to switch to using iCloud drive as it'll mean I can use iWork more than office but there just doesn't seem to be a way to keep documents in sync across multiple apple ID's.  Google drive also doesn't cater for iWork file formats so I can't simply save everything in there and just copy over to iCloud drive.
Does anyone have any bright ideas? Are there any third party iOS apps that will let you access items stored in icloud drive? I'd also thought about trying to use automator or applescript to copy a few select documents over to iCloud drive and convert to the iWork formats but I'm quite new to all that so not very sure where to start.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I have a similar problem with this as well.  For example, I like to keep the "contacts" of me and my spouse updated on both of our phones.  In order for this to happen, I have to sign in to "icloud" on both devices & mac with my apple ID.  It would be much better if this could be shared/combined with multiple devices as an option.  I don't think "icloud drive" solve's this problem.

  • HT5538 I have multiple Apple devices and my family all share one apple ID.  I know it is easy to obtain additional IDs but all devices are registered with the same Apple ID.  My questions is how do I set up my devices so that we can Facetime between devic

I have multiple Apple devices using the same Apple ID for all devices.  I work in the Middle East and my wife is in Russia.  I would like to Facetime between my different devices.  Is this possible with all devices registered with the same Apple ID.  It is just easier for find my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air and for purchasing Apps.  Is this possible and how do I set it up.

Create Apple IDs for everyone individually and use that in Settings > Facetime, Settings > Messages, Settings > Game Center but keep the Apple ID used for app and content purchases in Settings > iTunes and App Stores

  • Multiple apple ID's on 1 Imac, how does it work?

Dear all, we have recently bought an Imac but are now struggling with multiple Apple id's on 1 iMac, i have created two separate userprofiles but everytime we try synchronise one of our devices (iphones and ipads), it seems to mix up our apple id's and purchases.  Also the message appears that if you change the id you cannot purchase anything for six weeks with this id?
We have our own Apple Id's connected to our own devices and only want to share the Imac to synchronise Our own Itunes stuff etc on our own profiles.

Hi, what happens if you edit that info in the other account , say at the App Store or itUnes Store to match the other account, does it hold then?
