Multiple Apple ID's/One Computer

My three kids each have their own Itouch.  They each have their own Apple ID as well.  Whenever we connect one of the itouches, Itunes attempt to load evey app loaded by every separate apple ID.  i though with separate accounts, this would not happen.
Can someone tell me how to keep this from happening and have the three devices kept separate?

  • Can i setup multiple Apple IDs on one computer

    Hi
My partner and I recently sold our laptops and bought an iMac and want to keep our itunes, music, playlists separate.  Is it possible to setup multiple Apple IDs on one computer?
    Thanks
    Denise

Each person in your home can have their own Apple ID provided it is tied the their own separate email address.
iTunes permits up to five authorized computers connected to a single Apple ID: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
For this all to work well, however, each user in your household should have a separate user account on the computer they commonly use.

  • After updating to iTunes 11, issues with multiple Apple IDs on one computer

My boyfriend and I both use the iMac, and both have Apple IDs. We are separate users on the iMac, and each logs in to his or her "side." Neither one of us had the slightest iTunes problem until we updated to iTunes 11. Now, I just discovered that the iMac is linked with his iTunes account for at least another 46 days, which means that I'm not allowed to download to the iMac purchases I made under my Apple ID on my phone.
Is there a way to fix this? It's ridiculous that one of us would be locked out for 90 days at a time when all we want to do is back up music we legally purchased.

Multiple users can "authorize" content on one computer, but in order to re-download content (including Match and stuff purchased on another device/computer), you have to "associate" the computer with that AppleID, and this can only be done for one AppleID per computer and can only change every 90 days.
This has always been the rule, but it's more obvious since iTunes 11, because all your previous purchases now appear as cloud content, and it's easy to screw things up by accident.
If you email the iTunes store, it's possible they will reset the counter and let you switch back to your AppleID (they did for me), but they will only do this once.
There's really no reason to "back up" stuff purchased from the store.  If you want to listen to it on the computer, you can do "transfer purchases" while syncing, so there are workarounds.  Still, it's unquestionably a stupid rule that punishes legitimate users and does nothing to stop illegal sharing.  I encourage you to write very nasty feedback about it.

  • Multiple apple ID on one computer?

I've got 10.8.2 and 2 users set up on it. One mine, wife the other. We've got seperate apple ID's. After she added her apple ID on her profile, I could no long do ITunes Match. Then I read that its because there can be only one apple IP per computer. Is this for real? It seems pretty stupid. Even Microsoft would not do something so stupid. If there is something  to be done please let me know.
    Thanks!!!!

Yes it is for real, and no there is nothing to be done. Only one computer can be associated with an Apple ID for iTunes Match or iTunes Store auto downloads or to re-downloading past purchases. You'll just have to wait the 90 days.

  • Multiple apple IDs on one computer

    Hi everyone,
I bought my MBA about a year ago.  At that time i set it up under my existing google account that i had.  Couple months passed and i migrated to @me.com account and deleted my google account.
I went into user settings of the MBA and changed account there to the new @me.com email address.
My problem is that now when i go to App store i see updates for the old google account also.  Why is it showing me the updated for google account?
App store will check for updates for both accounts, the new me.com and the old google.com even though i never use google.com any more and there shouldn't be any more references to it in the machine (that i know of).  So now there is always an update in the App store waiting to be installed and i dont really want it because it is update for the old google account.
I have two user accounts on this machine and none of them are set up under the old google account.
Not really sure what's going on.  I'm still on the Lion OSX.

OK, I just entered this discussion and I didn't see an answer to my issue above, but I believe you can help.
I have many songs on my iPhone/iPad/MAC that I purchased approximately 4+ years ago that are owned by
an old email address: [email protected]
I also have been purchasing music, etc. on my apple ID [email protected] for the past 4 years.
Can I get all of the music/content merged into my current apple ID and eliminate the older email address?
    Thanks.

  • Can I authorize 2 apple IDs on one computer?

I'm new to the communities so please bear with me if I post this inappropriately.
My husband and I both have iphones.  My two children have itouchs.  My husband has an ipad.  We also have numerous ipods.
We have two computers in the house.  When my husband first bought an ipod, we had a PC.  All of his devices have always been synced on the PC using his apple id.  When I got my iphone, I synced on our MAC using my apple id.  When the kids got itouches, they synced on the MAC using their apple id.
We discovered that anything the kids and I purchased on itunes on the MAC is available to all of us.
We would now like to use home sharing.  To do this, both computers must be authorized to one apple id.  If the PC is deauthorized for my husband's apple id, I understand he will lose his purchases on the PC (or at least they won't be available until he authorizes it again).
I understand that an apple id may be authorized on up to 5 computers.  But what about multiple apple id on one computer???
    My questions are basically this...
Can we authorize 2 or more apple id on one computer?
Can I authorize my apple id on the PC and have my husband's apple id remain authorized on the PC?
Can my husband's apple id be authorized on the MAC and my apple id remain authorized?
Can the kids apple id be authorized on each of the PC and the MAC?
Can we have 4 different apple id authorized on a computer at once?
Will authorizing my apple id on the PC de-authorize my husband's apple id?
How's that for asking the same question in lots of different ways?  I have seen a lot about a computer using the same id multiple times but nothing about whether I can authorize many different ids on one computer at once.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Multiple iPad sync on one computer fail

I am confused about how to maintain two iPads on one computer.  Try it and I get dialog boxes threatening to erase all the content on one iPad.  Do I creat multiple libraries? That seems risky in light of the "threat" message in the dialog boxes. Is there a simpler way. Why can't I just plug iPad #1 and iPad #2 into a computer and have iTunes recognize that each one should have a separate library? This seems really silly.

  • How do I manage multiple Iphone accounts on one computer

My wife desperaely needed to back up her iPhone (been over teo years).  I didn't want to do this given that she woulde lose two years worth of data, but we decided to plow ahead.  I hit the update button and was advised that there was an earlier backup from last fall.  I said I wated to use that back up.  Unfortunately it was a backup for my daughter's iphone 5c and now my wife's phone is simply a clone of the 5C.  What can I do to pul at least some of her account information back out and show her iPhone again on the devices list?

    It certainly is possible.

A single computer can be authorized for multiple iTunes accounts but only one account can be signed into the store at a time.
Frankly, you are better off with unique Windows User accounts for each user.

  • HT1689 How do I download multiple itunes accounts on one computer under one user?

Recenlty moved to one account on our windows 7 computer to cut down on potential malware issues that allowed malware to migrate over to other user accounts.  However, we have different iTunes accounts and want to be able to download our individual music from each of our devices that include an iphone 4, iphone 4S, and ipod.  How do I create this capability under one windows 7 user account?

    It certainly is possible.

  • How to FaceTime and iMessage on multiple apple devices with one iTunes account

We recently received iPad 2's for Christmas and was looking for some advice on how to FaceTime and iMessage on multiple apple devices with One iTunes Account (Apple Id).  I have created or attached other e-mail addresses to our apple id but do not know how to use them on the new devices.  Our home MacBook Pro uses our main apple id for FaceTime.  The iPads have been setup with the main apple id w/o being able to use FaceTime and iMessage.
    Please Help...
I appreciate the help and support.

    P and V-
If you are trying to connect to someone with a different Apple ID, I think all the devices should work, but one at a time.
The problem is when you try to connect between two with the same Apple ID.  Once the calling device tries to make the connection, it finds the second device to be "busy".  That is where each needs to use a different E-Mail address when setting it up.
On iOS devices, when you press the Home button to exit an App, the App may still be active in the background, even when the device is sleeping.  If FaceTime or iMessage is merely being active that way, it may be enough to "tie up" the E-Mail address.
From the Home screen, double click your Home button.  You will see a list of recent Apps along the bottom of the screen.  Press and hold on one of them until they start to wiggle.  You will then see a red minus sign on each.  Pressing the minus sign will remove an App from the list, and stop it from working in the background.  (Click the Home button to stop the wiggling, and again to hide the recent Apps.)

  • Two Apple accounts on one computer

My husband and I each had our own computers with our own Apple ID's and iTune accounts. Those computers are no longer in use. Our plan was to share one computer.  Can you put two different iTune accounts each with their own Apple ID on one computer?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes, you can. Do you intend having different user accounts, do either of you use automatic downloads or iTunes Match.
