Multiple Apple TV question.

I have 3 Apple TV's. (One in my bedroom, one in the living room and just hooked up a new 160G Apple TV in our home theater in the basement.)
My question is this. If I rent a movie on say the Apple TV in the home theater and want to finish watching it in my bedroom can the movie be moved between Apple TV's?
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
If the movie is SD then yes.
I'm afraid I can't say for HD, we don't have movie rentals yet here.

I did this already and after that I geet the screen with an option to download ITP ( I already have)

If you're just trying to merge multiple iTunes libraries, you can use Apple's Homeshare feature. You will need at least two computers and just sign in to the account you want to keep on your newest Mac. Then sign in to one of the other accounts on another laptop and turn Homeshare on on both computers. You should be able to drag over the music files you want onto your new iTunes library. Then just rotate through the accoutns on the second computer or just rotate through the computers that the accounts are on.
Not sure if this is what you're trying to do. But I do agree with varjak paw that you can't merge accounts, but you could try to move everything into one library.

  • Yet another iCloud with multiple Apple IDs question

I have a Mac, iPhone 3G, and an iPad 2. My wife has an iPod. I have historically synced via the desktop, and my music, calendar, contacts, etc. have shared just fine. I have a Mobile Me account which may or may not be doing anything for me. I understand it's going away anyhow.
Two of my devices share the same Apple ID, and one has a different ID. I don't know what my wife's iPod has for an Apple ID. One of the Apple IDs is a @me.com address.
I have set things up for iCloud, trying to have my calendar, photos, etc. come alive at once like they do in the commercials. After hours reading others' frustrations on here, I still am unsure how to proceed.
I can't change my @me.com AppleID because that is apparently against the rules. I can't add my other email address as a secondary address, because I am informed that that address is already verified as being in use (of course it is, by me). It won't let me change my other Apple ID to an @me.com address because that is also apparently against the rules.
Is there ANY solution that let's me keep syncing my music, plus let's me sync my calendar, contacts, photos, etc. in the Cloud? I don't want to lose any of my current information.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I don't think it helps me.
My Mac and iphone have the same Apple ID.  I innocently created a different AppleID when I bought my iPad. ([email protected]).  I want them to sync automatically. They don't because they have different "clouds."
I don't want to have to log in to sync everything.  If that were the case, I would just go on syncing every night via the Mac. Is there a way to get to where my iPad syncs with the other two?
Am I missing something simple here?

  • HT5538 I have multiple Apple devices and my family all share one apple ID.  I know it is easy to obtain additional IDs but all devices are registered with the same Apple ID.  My questions is how do I set up my devices so that we can Facetime between devic

I have multiple Apple devices using the same Apple ID for all devices.  I work in the Middle East and my wife is in Russia.  I would like to Facetime between my different devices.  Is this possible with all devices registered with the same Apple ID.  It is just easier for find my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air and for purchasing Apps.  Is this possible and how do I set it up.

Create Apple IDs for everyone individually and use that in Settings > Facetime, Settings > Messages, Settings > Game Center but keep the Apple ID used for app and content purchases in Settings > iTunes and App Stores

  • One PC, Multiple Apple ID's, how to integrate?

Im not sure if this problem of mine is as a result of the latest iTunes update, but suddenly Im getting told that I can't download my purchases as for some reason my son's apple id is now the only one that can be associated with the pc (for 90 days..).
    We have:
    3 Apple id's
    -Main/parent id
    -Child 1 id
    -Child 2 id.
The kids are each responsible for their own purchases.
Up until my last attempt to download my purchases I haven't noticed any problems sharing purchases on the single computer.
Today, I was warned that to download I would need to change authorisations or somesuch, which couldn't be changed again for 90 days.
Either I haven't noticed this restriction before, or the updated iTunes is imposing restrictions.
We all have our own playlists, and when syncing our devices (iphones/ipods) we simply choose our own playlist, but the playlists are made up from everyone's music, no restrictions.
Why is it now that I am finding restrictions on downloading music? How can I get around this in future?

    Thanks Limnos.
    Crisis averted.
Im not sure how/why I encountered the problem yesterday, but today I selected the 'transfer purchases from xxx' in the File menu, and it transferred my purchases to my music library without a problem.
I am signed in to itunes at the moment, but I haven't re-associated the computer with any particular ID (was previously mine, but showing its associated with my sons since last year, but I've not even noticed until yesterday).
For future questions on multiple ID's on a single computer, we run ours with multiple Apple IDs, all our contacts are shared (which I've discovered is useful when I get a message "Im at so and sos" and I look and 'so and so' is in  my contacts without me even knowing) on our Apple devices, and a purchase is downloaded from a device on first syncing.
We keep a playlist per child in itunes, which we can update anytime and select to sync. Any playlist they create is downloaded into itunes and saved, and kept by default on their device anyway.
Aside from the 'check for available downloads' yesterday I don't seem to have a problem. BUT I can't just borrow someone's ID and log in then download all their purchases. I have to plug in my device, then download purchases, and then I can manouevre them as i wish between playlists.
I hope this helps someone else, but feel free to answer my 'check for available downloads' doesn't work!

  • Multiple Apple ID's on one Mac

Hi, ive read all other question related to miltiple apple id's. but they dont answere my question.
I got 3 Apple ID's. I want them all activated on my macbook pro. Google search says i can do it. I have to create for each apple ID a seperate iTunes Library (i followed this guide http://www.imore.com/how-use-multiple-apple-ids-one-computer-and-itunes)
    but that doesnt work.
I cant add my other two ID's. iTunes keeps telling me i can not add another Apple ID. I have to wait 90 days.
So, thats kinda weird. Apple does allow to register multiple Apple ID's. But why cant we use em?
I asked Apple Support to transfer all content from my previous Apple ID's to my new one. but they wont do it.
Right now i can not use my own stuff. Thats so unnecessary.
any help would be highly appreciated.
    thanks

Why do you have 3 Apple IDs?
Apple IDs cannot be merged and items bought with one Apple ID cannot be transfered to another. A computer can only be associated with one Apple ID every 90 days for automatic downloads, re-downloading of past purchases or iTunes Match. There is no getting around this restriction.
One computer can be autorized to play content purchased with multiple Apple IDs, though.
My suggestion is to pick on Apple ID and stick with it for the future. Once you have decided, log into one of the other Apple IDs and download every avialble item you bought with that ID to your computer. Wait 90 days. Log into the other ID and do the same thing. Wait 90 days. Finally log into the "main" Apple ID and stay logged in. Keep current backups of all your purchased items on a local, external HDD.

  • Multiple Apple ID's on Single Mac - Manually choose Apps to Sync

    Scenario:
    1 MacBook Pro, 3 iPhone 4s's.
    3 Separate Apple ID's
Different Apps purchased on different Apple ID's.
    Question:
How can I tell iTunes not to sync apps on a particular iPhone individually.
e.g. I download Videostar on iPhone 1, but no other iPhone, I use it, I then want to keep the app in iTunes but not on the iPhone,
In other words, I want to manually choose what apps I have on each of my iPhones irrespective of what iTunes has a record of having been synced with the iPhone before.
At the moment on iTunes 11.1.3(8), when I sync an iPhone, all the apps I ever had on it are put back on whether I want to or not.
There used to be a tick box in previous versions to choose what apps to sync per iPhone?
    Has that gone now?
All I see is the "Will Install" and "Install" options, no "Do Not Sync" option, not even a "Remove" option.
    Thanks....
    Adrian.

  • Multiple apple id's on iCloud?

Will iCloud support multiple Apple ID's? I have a dedicated work ID and a dedicated personal ID that need to be separated as well as my wife's and kids' ID's. I'm setting up a home network (Airport Extreme with external hard drives and printer) and want everyone connected to this network to have acces to purchases from iTunes as well as stored media (movies, music, photos, etc) from the "media drives". Sorry for the long-winded question... Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

  • Multiple Apple ID management

I would like to get a little more info on how Apple envisions multiple Apple ID management in families and businesses.
When the IDs first appeared, they were just used to buy equipment. Since the value of the purchase was a tangible physical object, the purchase method didn't matter much. When iTunes started selling tracks, ID management became a bit more of an issue, but since the amounts involved were small and the purchases were usually personal, it wasn't a big deal. Now with the app store and more expensive purchase of both professional and personal nature, it becomes rather complicated.
    Here are a few scenarios:
A business where the equipment, OS and software are tied to a business account, but the employee can use his personal account to sync his music, iOS apps, etc.
A household where the parents handle the hardware/software, but the kids have their own individual music/iApp allowance.
When I purchase a 3-license program from a software manufacturer, I can install it on any 3 machines, regardless how they were purchased. but with the app store, they must all be linked to one Apple ID.
On a related note, can you transfer a license for an app purchased in the app store (aka sell used software)?

    Thanks Dah-veed.
I'm fully aware that this is a user forum, but often you get better answers from users than from Apple.
I was curious to see how other people with multiple computers/multiple users manage their Apple IDs.
To answer my own question, it's possible to install a purchased app on "any*" computer using the Apple ID used to make the purchase. So the computer does not need to be exclusively linked to an Apple ID. (* other terms restrict which computers. So the EULA is more restrictive that the technical limitations)
http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html (about 2/3 down) explains a little better what the use restrictions are and what Apple means by "own and control":
MAC APP STORE PRODUCT USAGE RULES
Except as otherwise set forth herein,
You may download and use an application from the Mac App Store (“Mac App Store Product”) for personal, non-commercial use on any Apple-branded products running Mac OS X (“Mac Computer”) that you own or control.
(ii) If you are a commercial enterprise or educational institution, you may download a Mac App Store Product for use by either (a) a single individual on each of the Mac Computer(s) used by that individual that you own or control or (b) multiple individuals on a single shared Mac Computer that you own or control. For example, a single employee may use a Mac App Store Product on both the employee’s desktop Mac Computer and laptop Mac Computer, or multiple students may serially use a Mac App Store Product on a single Mac Computer located at a resource center or library. For the sake of clarity, each Mac Computer used serially by multiple users requires a separate license.
(iii) Use may require sign-in with the Apple ID used to download the Mac App Store Product from the Mac App Store. Mac App Store Products can be updated through the Mac App Store only.
    And further down:
This license granted to you for the Licensed Application by Licensor is limited to a nontransferable license to use the Licensed Application...
Not being able to resell software is a big drawback for more expensive programs. License transfers have long been accepted by major software developers. The process is not worth the trouble for a cheap app, but when you have $1000 apps, you want to keep that option open. SO I'd think twice before buying an expensive app from the Mac app store.

  • HT204053 I have multiple apple id's - how do I find them all?

I have multiple apple ids. I can not remember the security questions any more and now I can not access my email using my old email address. I now get a "Your account has been locked" message - very annoying!

To find all your AppleIDs log into
    My Apple ID https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
There use the link Find your Apple ID  in the lower right of the window.
On the same page you can use the "Reset your Password" link to manage your Apple ID and require that your security questions will be reset. You will receive an email notification with instructions how to proceed.

  • I have multiple apple ids. I want only one. How can I do this?

I live in two countries and can't download anything as it seems I am always in the wrong country.... This is complicated by my having multiple apple ids. When trying to reduce this to one, I lost all my previously bought apps. Never mind. However it seems that I have not yet achieved this..... And now to boot I am unable to buy anymore apps as I appear to always be on the wrong country. How can this be?
As I have spent MANY hours on this, I am happy to start again, and if I continue to fail, I think I will leave apple for good.
Any patient soul willing to help?

    Hello,
What two countries are you living in? Are certain apps you have downloaded in one country not available in the other? The only solution I can see is to start new with a new apple ID or you can use one of e two you currently have. What do you mean "And now to boot I am unable to buy anymore apps as I appear to always be on the wrong country." This could be a problem with the firmware in which a restore may be necessary. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck. Don't forget to click this helped me or solved my question if this helped you. Thanks

  • Can I use multiple Apple store gift cards per transaction or is it has to be one gift card per transaction?

    Hola, Eddy
notice that you have posted to an old thread (Oct-Nov2013) that actually took quite some time to get attention back then**
I recommend that you contact the Store Group regarding your purchase question - don't let the "iTune-ish" URL and page title throw you off... it's the right place
Store Group - Contact Us - Apple Support
** next time you have a question, I advise to check the dates carefully and if older than a month or so, AND it has no answer to your specific issue, start a NEW Question. You did a fine job of stating your exact issue - many folks, not so much.

  • Can i combine multiple apple accounts into one?

I have multiple apple email accounts from :
    mac.com
    me.com
    iCloud.com
and all of them function.  I want to transfer all of the data into one account and terminate the other two.  Can someone guide me through this?

This is already 1 account, there is nothing to combine, versions of your address go to the same inbox. You can choose which one is used to send.
Go to www.icloud.com>Mail>Settings and choose which to the three you will use to send mail, you will receive mail sent to any of the versions.
FYI. You do not have a Powerbook G4 if you are running 10.6.5 (and why are you running a version that needs updating)
If you have more questions please accurately identify your Mac.

  • Multiple Apple TVs - affect on school broadband

Hello, I am new to this forum. The school I support now has several Ipads and Apple TVs and the number is growing. Does any one know what impact this may have on broadband. Does using multiple Apple Tvs affect speed etc? Any information re any technical issues of using Apple TV in school would be much appreciated.

Yes, internal use (iPad to Apple TV) will not affect brodband connectivity.
The signal from iPad needs to go to WiFi router (or access point) and then back to Apple TV. So it is a bit over kill in busy environments. To easy the WiFi traffic it is advisable to wire Apple TV via ethernet port - this hat to be on the same LAN (VLAN) as the WiFi network.
Let me know if you have more questions.

I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.
