Multiple Apple Tv's One Mac.

If I have three Apple tv's will I be able to sync from one mac?
With the new movie rental format if we rent a movie on one apple tv will we be able to see it on the other two in other rooms?

So if i bought another apple tv for my bedroom (currently have a 40gig in living room), i couldn't rent a movie in living room, then finish it in bedroom, or vice versa?
Curious of another scenario - if i BOUGHT a movie via itunes, and stream it to apple tv in living room. Stop the movie with 20 minutes left, want to finish it in bedroom..if streamed from itunes, would it pick up right where i left off?

  • HT204074 Multiple Apple IDs on one Mac

I have 2 different user accounts on my MacBook Air. Both users have their own iTunes Library with their own AppleID.
Is my understanding correct that it is not possible to use both accounts independently as only one Apple ID can "use" the Mac at a time ?
Furthermore, if user A has its Apple ID associated to the Mac, user B is unable to use iTunes Match on the same Mac for it's account (at least not for another 90 days) ?
Thx in advance for any solution allowing user A and B to share one Mac (including iTunes) as if it was two physically seperate computers. The goal for me would be to have 1 Mac used by 2 users (each one having it's own account) with 2 Apple IDs (ID 1 for user A - ID 2 for user B).

    Hello Kevin and redskylux-
Just wanted to add another post and try to gain some group traction: Apple support has lately been refering users to "check the Apple forums" for solutions. As such, I am hoping Apple management will be parsing and reading these forums for suggestions on improvement and current issues with their products.
From the perspective of system administration and isolating financial responsibility to individual user accounts, the process Apple employs to limit future transfers, even to separate user accounts, on the same machine for 90 days is simply draconian. A server operating system is dedicated to the idea that multiple user accounts are supported on a single physical machine. Apple's current methods would severly retard the abilities for mutliple users to make use of the same machine for using iTunes and related content. For example, user A is allowed to log in to a machine and make use of iPhoto, MS Excel (under Office for Mac), and many other programs while user B is also using an account, via VNC or other remote desktop product from an iPad or a different location off site. That's the whole point: multiple users to the same machine to co-utilize resources.
The iTunes account scenario and a 90 day wait between transfers is a seriously ridiculous constraint. How about every Apple employee who uses a piece of software on an Apple server, must first check to see if any other Apple employee has used the desired software within the previous 90 days? If so, user A must wait until user B has not used the software within the previous 90 days. Sound like a terrible situation? It is!
Come on Apple, surely you can devise a better method.
Separate Mac OS X user accounts, each with separate Apple ID's must have independent access to the materials associated with individual user accounts on the SAME Mac OS device. The above process, at the least, would allow a local backup of iTunes content to a single machine. Having all content backed up to a single machine supports the opportunity for keeping an organized localy controlled backup.
Perhaps the solution will be to create multiple copies of virtual machines on the Mac OS X device and then each user can (with a virtual MAC address) have their own Apple iTunes account on the same machine, without having to sit and wait 90 days for Apple to release the lock?
Hope you find a solution: I am planning to test out the VM solution (real Mac OS X which contains multiple VM Mac OS X machines)

  • Multiple Apple IDs on One Mac

We set up macs for our faculty and staff. We, as computer support, have our own Apple ID and install some basic software that was, i.e. Microsoft Remote Desktop. Our users have their own login and can associate that with their Apple ID. But then they are prompted to update the Microsoft Remote Desktop software that we have installed, but can't because it is associated with our Apple ID.
How should this be done in a business environment where you have a helpdesk and different users who use the same machine?

  • Can i combine multiple apple accounts into one?

I have multiple apple email accounts from :
    mac.com
    me.com
    iCloud.com
and all of them function.  I want to transfer all of the data into one account and terminate the other two.  Can someone guide me through this?

This is already 1 account, there is nothing to combine, versions of your address go to the same inbox. You can choose which one is used to send.
Go to www.icloud.com>Mail>Settings and choose which to the three you will use to send mail, you will receive mail sent to any of the versions.
FYI. You do not have a Powerbook G4 if you are running 10.6.5 (and why are you running a version that needs updating)
If you have more questions please accurately identify your Mac.

  • Can you have two apple ids on one mac?

Can you have two apple ids on one mac? We each have iPhones and want to utilize iCloud.  Is this possible?

No, in this case the 2 user accounts with its own Apple IDs would be completely seperated.
If you want to share this things like music and app purchases you will have to to something else.
    1. Create two user accounts on your Mac (user A and user B).
    2. Create two iCloud accounts just for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Photos, etc. (one for user A and one for user B):
On your Mac (with Mac OS X Lion or Mountan Lion):
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > iCloud > Create an Apple ID (button in left corner)
On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch (iOS 5 or later):
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > iCloud > Get a free @me.com address and create a new Apple ID
    3. It is not recommended because you shouldn't share your Apple ID account information with other people but you could set up your old Apple ID as an account just for store purchases (Apps, Music, ...) so that everyone of you can manage the purchases in their own library (Access is limited to 10 devices). Therefore you have to setup this "old" ID in Settings of your iOS devices (Settings > iTunes & App Store) and in iTunes on your Mac.

  • Can i setup multiple Apple IDs on one computer

    Hi
My partner and I recently sold our laptops and bought an iMac and want to keep our itunes, music, playlists separate.  Is it possible to setup multiple Apple IDs on one computer?
    Thanks
    Denise

Each person in your home can have their own Apple ID provided it is tied the their own separate email address.
iTunes permits up to five authorized computers connected to a single Apple ID: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
For this all to work well, however, each user in your household should have a separate user account on the computer they commonly use.

  • Multiple IP adress on one mac address?

    Hi!!
I have a WLC 2504 and AP 1602. Is it possible to give the client multiple ip addresses with one mac address. If yes, how it's made on WLC or AP?

In certain cases there is a need to have multiple IP addresses responding beyond a single client wireless association. For example, some video cameras will have an internal communication module that tied to wireless interface via ethernet. Some PoS devices may have similar requirement.
In WLC there is an option WLAN->WirelessID->Advanced->Passive Client.
Now I am not sure if this will work with multiple IP addresses tied to the same MAC or not.

  • How to FaceTime and iMessage on multiple apple devices with one iTunes account

We recently received iPad 2's for Christmas and was looking for some advice on how to FaceTime and iMessage on multiple apple devices with One iTunes Account (Apple Id).  I have created or attached other e-mail addresses to our apple id but do not know how to use them on the new devices.  Our home MacBook Pro uses our main apple id for FaceTime.  The iPads have been setup with the main apple id w/o being able to use FaceTime and iMessage.
    Please Help...
I appreciate the help and support.

    P and V-
If you are trying to connect to someone with a different Apple ID, I think all the devices should work, but one at a time.
The problem is when you try to connect between two with the same Apple ID.  Once the calling device tries to make the connection, it finds the second device to be "busy".  That is where each needs to use a different E-Mail address when setting it up.
On iOS devices, when you press the Home button to exit an App, the App may still be active in the background, even when the device is sleeping.  If FaceTime or iMessage is merely being active that way, it may be enough to "tie up" the E-Mail address.
From the Home screen, double click your Home button.  You will see a list of recent Apps along the bottom of the screen.  Press and hold on one of them until they start to wiggle.  You will then see a red minus sign on each.  Pressing the minus sign will remove an App from the list, and stop it from working in the background.  (Click the Home button to stop the wiggling, and again to hide the recent Apps.)

  • When exporting and then importing Apple Mail from one mac to another I get "Some messages could not be imported. Partially imported mailbox will be labeled IMPORT" . That mailbox does not appear.

When exporting and then importing Apple Mail from one mac to another I get "Some messages could not be imported. Partially imported mailbox will be labeled IMPORT" . That mailbox does not appear.
    Any help would be welcome

This is a bug in Mail. The mailbox archiving function does not include attachments, which  gives the error with the import. To workaround this you can create a mailbox in Mail and copy to it all emails you want to export. Then go in Finder to [user]/Library/Mail/Mailboxes en select the created mailbox. Copy this to the public directory of your other mac. Then start Mail on that other mac and import the mailbox from the public directory. Should work now.

  • Talking amongst multiple computers with only one .mac acct

We have multiple computers but only one .mac account. We would like to isight/ichat with our home-based computers from our laptops (ie: talk with the kids at home while we're on the road...) but can't figure out how to make it work. Do we need to set up SEPARATE .mac accounts ("Family Plan") in order to isight/ichat amongst our computers or can we arrange it all, using only one account?

    Magpie is right.
You can get FREE AIM Name(s) here.
You can also get additional free dot mac names if you like. The names will continue to work as iChat names after the free trial (and other dot mac features) expire.

  • Multiple apple dropboxes for one account

Can you have multiple apple dropbox accounts in the public folder for one user account? EX: instructor account and 3 different public dropboxes for 3 different users on the same instructor account? Using mountain lion and the users are not mac (computer) experts they are just "users"

You don't need to create two separate libraries.
If you want to sync different content onto each device, select the device in iTunes, select the tabs across the top and sync what you want.
To make it easier, create different playlists for each device and sync only those playlists.

  • Can you sync multiple IOS devices to one Mac?

Is it possible to sync, say, both an iPod Touch (or iPhone) AND an iPad to the same user account on one Mac? I assume it must be possible, otherwise what would folks with an iPod/iPhone and an iPad do?
What are the caveats, if any?
How about two different IOS devices associated with the same MobileMe user account? Any issues there?

No problem with any of this at all, including mobile me
You can choose different sync options for each device if you wish, and MobileMe can be set up on multiple devices with no problems, they will all keep in sync with each other.

  • Multiple Apple IDs on one new iMac

I'm relatively new to the apple world so pease excuse my lack of knowledge. I just bought a Mac and will be syncing an iPhone 5 and an iPhone 5c to it.  The two phones share one apple ID for iTunes, but each has a separate apple ID for the iCloud. I'm not sure we should have set up the phones this way, but that's how it was recommended when we bought them. Anyway, my question is this: do I understand correctly that we can only authorize our new computer to recognize one of the apple IDs now, and the other will have to wait 90 days? Thank you.

You are still under warranty.  Call Apple tech support.  They will happily help you out.

  • Can I have multiple iTunes accounts on one Mac?

My daughters got iPods for Christmas, and we are wanting to set them up with their own Apple IDs, but only use one Mac computer for syncing, etc.  Will this work?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Seperate iTunes accounts should be dealt with by using seperate user accounts on the Mac itself. You shouldn't be logging in and out of iTunes accounts in the same user account.
