Multiple Application server

Hi All
We have an new Application server/Dialog instance installed in our project recently. But once this is done all our Process chains are failing. we had to manually assign a server to the process chains for the process chains to be successful again.
Would there be a setting so that the the process chains would take one of the servers automatically.
Thanks for you help

  • Syncing Forms Across Multiple Application Server Servers?

    Hi Guys,
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. We recently brought up multiple servers running Application Server 10.1.2.3 for High Availability of our forms and reports. My question is, is there a way to keep the forms files synced? With IIS for example, I have written a batch file that will go check for modifications on a source server and then sync any destination servers that are out of sync. However with Application Server, you cannot simply copy files over because if they are in use they are locked.
Would anyone happen to know of any kind of solution for keeping multiple Application Servers synced?

What we do is use a Load balancer with Multiple App severs. To keep the forms correct we take one out at a time off peak and update and do this round robin until they match.

  • Integration between EP & BW (with multiple application server)

    Hello Experts,
We are configuring JCo Rfc Provider using visual administrator.
We have Successfully used Note No##Note 917950 - SAP NetWeaver 2004s:
Setting Up BEx Web,For Our Development  & QAS BW & EP Server.(Single application Server)
But on our Production systems which have multiple application servers ( 3 each for EP & BW) at the step of creating RFC Creation we find that the RFC connection (JCO provider) only works when we specify the individual Apps server in the BW Host Field. We are not able to Specify the BW message server in the JCO Connection.
Kindly help us to resolve this issue.

    Hi Jim,
The reason that the documentation specifically spells out IBM Websphere is most likely because it was the application server that we developed and tested with at the time. The important requirement for this type of integration is that this server be an Intel based server running a Microsoft OS. The reason for this is because there are dlls with the Oracle IPM product that enable communication between the IPM functions and the JDE Business functions. If the Enterprise server for JDE is intel based then a JAS can exist on the same server, the dlls can be on that machine and the extra server is not required. This server is only required if the Enterprise server is not intel based. As far as your choice to use Oracle Application Server goes, I really have no basis to say if this works or not. My thought is that it shouldn't matter as long as the JAS server is an intel based, 32 bit server running a Microsoft OS. There are many other variables and lots of experience implementing this type of integration with JDE within the Oracle IPM consulting team. Give us a call if we can help.
    Hope this helps,
    Matt

  • Multiple Application Server's Version installs multiple jinitiator

I have multiple Application Servers in my environment and they have different versions like 9iAS 9.0.4 10.0.2 etc. I am facing a problem that when my users jump from one Application Server to another then it uses and install different jinitiator.
Kindly let me tell that how i can use just one version of Jinitiator with all versions of Application Server???

    Hello,
I'm really sorry but this is a typo on my part. It should be "You can't have two different APEX versions on the same instance."
Does it mean that if we install ApEx v3 we will have only ApEx v3?Yes. This is exactly what it means. The installation script automatically detect previous installed APEX (or earlier HTML DB ) version, and upgrade it. You can end up with only one version per instance.

  • SNC configuration in multiple application server environment

    Hello Experts,
We are planning for SNC configuration between ECC 6  and NW04s Portal systems.
ECC 6.0 is running with Central Instance and two application servers.
NW04s EP is running with 4 server nodes.
I am very much clear about setting up SNC between ABAP and JAVA running with single application server and server node.
But totally confused about SNC/SSL setup in multiple server environment. Would really appreciate if you can provide some ideas/docuements on setting up SNC/SSL in multiple server environment.
    1. Do we need to create multiple PSE for each of the ABAP application server? If yes then would the CN should be same or different.
    2. If we create only one PSE for central instance and copy this to other application server - will this work.
Looking forward to hear from your experiences.

  • In Oracle 9 Application Server can we create multiple instances???

Hi I need one help this is regarding to the oracle 9 application server in this can we create the multiple instances??
my application was already developed and currently it is working with one instance for this i need to create the another one more instance which is same as existing and my application is web application developed in Forms6i and the db is oracle 9i my requirement is to create one more instance what are all the configuration files need to be modified and please give this info ASAP....

It is still not very clear. What do you mean by creating "one more instance of the same application in the same application server"? By "application" do you mean another instance of OC4J in same Application Server Instance? If yes, you can do that. I mean you can create another OC4J component in same Application Server Instance without doing another installation. Refer this for details:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97329_03/core.902/a92171/config.htm#1010793
If you are looking to create another Application Server Instance out of same installation/binaries (i.e. Oracle Home) than the answer is no. You can not create multiple Application Server Instances out of one Oracle Home. You will have to do another installation in a different Oracle Home and that's how you will get another Application Server Instance.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Multiple App Server on a single host

I have a requirement to have multiple application server installations on a single server. Each installation will support a separate department. In the past each department had their own servers and had full control of their application server.
Would it be possible to create separate unix accounts for each department and install the Oracle Application Server under each separate account?
Will the installations be able to manage/avoid port conflicts? Or would I have to manage the ports manually?

Yes it is possible to have multiple instances of OAS (Oracle Application Server) in the same server, if the server hardware (especially RAM) can support it. The port numbers will be assigned automatically by the OUI (Oracle Universal Installer) for each new instance or you can specify them manually (you didnt say which version of OAS but there is a section in the matching installation guide.
    However, consider this....
    a) they are all still on the same server and any service interruptions to the server as a whole (e.g. apply patches, need to restart the server, all instances would need to be shut down)
    b) These kinds of installations can be a horrible mess to administer
Personally I think a better solution is to separate the physical server using virtualization software e.g. VMware ESX to make separate virtual hosts. Then each virtual host has its own IP address and its own instance. e.g. host1 for department 1, host2 for department 2. Then each virtual host can be shut down, rebooted, patched etc, completely independent of the others.

  • Issue of multiple Application servers

    I have a report which submits 5 reports(with Return
) inside it. Now if I have multiple application server then I do not know which server the job will get submitted and currently in my landscape the synchronisation time between the servers is 2 mins. Problem is some of my subsequent reports is dependent on the prev one and due to this if next report is getting called in diff application server before the sync then it is failing.
I have thought about open job and close job while submitting reports because in open job FM you can specify server but then I need to wait in main program till the report finishes.
Is there any solution more elegant ? or am I missing something ?
    Regards
    Somnath

Create 5 different jobs for all 5 different programs through JOB_OPEN, SUBMIT, JOB_CLOSE FM.
You can set the start date / time for the first job.
For the all rest jobs you can make them dependent on its predecessor job's status.
You can use the parameter PRED_JOBNAME and PRED_JOBCOUNT of the JOB_CLOSE FM to set the predecessor job. You can set the PREDJOB_CHECKSTAT to make it state dependent.

  • RE: How to have multiple application running under one server

              I have one server
              I have many application
Question: Is it possible for me to have a weblogic properties file under each
              of this application.

If your question is whether you can run multiple instances of WebLogic
(or multiple applications) on one server, the answer is yes. The only
problem is, you must have a unique port for each of the servers to run
on. I.e., they can not all run under port 80 which has obvious
              internet/network implications.
This also means you have multiple weblogic.properties files etc. for
              each instance.
We do this with WL5.1 on a Linux 2.4 kernel in developement to allow
multiple developers run their own instance on one box.

  • How to store multiple files from SAp in to Application server?

    Hi Guys,
Can anybody tell me how to store multiple files from SAP into Application server.in my application i have to get the data from SAP tables BSEG , BKPF , BSAK and BSIK that to daily i have to do.
Any Logic  or Code for how to do is welcomed.
                        plz help me urgently.
    Thanks,
    Gopi

    Hi,
directories creates basis. If you have task to store data in application server you already should have information into which folder you have to do it. If you don't have this information because it is just for example training for next task then you can use your personal folder into which you have access. To get list of all available folders please look at attached code and form get_directories (you get the list of folders you see in transaction AL11). But don't forget: If you are using open dataset you have to have rights to access application folder!
Here you are code which I use to upload text files from local disc into application folder

  • Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program

    Hi All,
I have a issue related <b>Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program</b>.
    Actual issue is as below.
    In the <b>selection screen</b> of <b>my program</b> i will give <b>Application Server Path</b> as :
    <b>/PW/DATA/SAP/D1S/PP/DOWN/eppi0720*</b>
Then the based on above input it should pick up all the files that are matching <b>eppi0720*</b> criteria.
Suppose if i am having <b>5</b> files with above scenario, i have to fetch all those <b>5</b> files at a time and place in my SAP Program.
All those 5 file's data should come into SAP at a time.
Can anybody tell me how can we solve above issue.
If any body has come across same issue please provide me with solution.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Multiple Application Express Installs on one server

What, if any, restrictions / caveats are there for installing multiple Application Express versions on a single server? We have Application Express 2.2 installed and wondering if we can install Application Express 3.0 also.
With 2.2, we have FLOWS_020200, FLOWS_FILES, and APEX_PUBLIC_USER as database users. Version 3.0 will want to create FLOWS_030000, FLOWS_FILES, and APEX_PUBLIC_USER. Any problems with what I expect will be errors on "user already exists" for FLOWS_FILES and APEX_PUBLIC_USER?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
I'm really sorry but this is a typo on my part.

    Arie.
