Multiple Blog Layouts

Is it possible to have multiple overall blog layouts?  I have created two blogs for my site but want slightly differnt layouts.

I guess word from higher up is that all blogs share the same template. Once Liquid is integrated it will be supported but not yet. Sorry.
(But I still can't see why it can't be done)

  • Multiple blogs - with different layouts?

    Hello All.
    I am stuck, I would like to run several blogs on my site as I think this is a really efficient way of managing content, especially for my client too. But must all the blogs share the same layout? I am happy customising the Blog Layout templates, but I would like to change the order of some contents, an be able to control what is on offer in each of the side bars. Is there a way to add a custom layout?
    Cheers
    David

    Thanks Liam. How would I go about giving the Overall Layout a dfifferent look for each blog? Do I need to make pages and pull the blogs through in content holders? I have been considering this option however once you have pulled the blog into a standard page (in a content holder) you loose the option of utilising blog tags (outside of the content holder) as you can only assign tags to thier intended layout/template. I cannot think of a work around?

  • Multiple Blog Summary Widgets on one page

    Hello
    I was wondering if anyone knew how to put multiple Blog Summary Widgets onto a single page? Basically having a single weblog page but hosting more than one blog on that page.
    If you do a simple copy and paste, it will pick up the "feed" from the Entries already associated with the existing blog. I have also tried pasting multiple widgets onto a blank page without success - I just get a 1 pixel line.
    What I have done with my site (http://www.kilayko.com) in the meantime is to create an iframe and then load the second blog there. The only potential downside is that surfers will stay in that frame.
    Any takers for this one, or is it just a happy limitation of iWeb?
    Alex

  • Display Multiple ALV layouts on one screen

    Hi,
    I have created 4 ALV Catalogues named: ALVCAT1, ALVCAT2, ALVCAT3, ALVCAT4
    I have also created the corresponding internal tables with data for each catalogue: ALVITAB1, ALVITAB2, ALVITAB3, ALVITAB4
    I have so far used the following function to generate each of the catalogues above:
      CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'
        EXPORTING
          I_PROGRAM_NAME     = SY-CPROG
          I_INTERNAL_TABNAME = 'ALVITAB1'
          I_INCLNAME         = SY-CPROG
        CHANGING
          ct_fieldcat        = ALVCAT1[].
    And I have used the following function module to display the table as ALV:-
    *DISPLAYING REPORT AS ALV GRID
      CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
        EXPORTING
          I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM      = SY-CPROG
          I_CALLBACK_PF_STATUS_SET = 'SET_PF_STATUS'
          i_callback_user_command = 'USER_COMMAND'
          IT_FIELDCAT             = ALVCAT1[]
         i_screen_start_column = 10
         i_screen_start_line   = 15
         i_screen_end_column   = 200
         i_screen_end_line     = 20
        TABLES
          t_outtab                = ALVITAB1.
    How can I now using the above function modules or similar function modules to DISPLAY multiple ALV layouts on a single SCREEN. Each layout should be treated separately with their own ALV tool bar etc.
    In this case i need to display 4 screens but I have scenarios where i need to also display 5.
    Would be really grateful for your guidance with source code to achieve this.....
    Thnx

    Hi
    Try this [Link|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=61243570] or the below program
    BCALV_TEST_GRID_DRAG_DROP
    or else
    Try to use splitter container to display multiple ALVs on one screen
    here is the demo program RSDEMO_SPLITTER_CONTROL
    the below code will help you to call grid using splitter control
         EXPORTING
            container_name = 'CUSTOM'.
        CREATE OBJECT splitter
          EXPORTING
            parent  = container
            rows    = 1
            columns = 1
            align   = 15.
        CALL METHOD splitter->set_row_height
          EXPORTING
            id     = 1
            height = 1.
        CALL METHOD splitter->get_container
          EXPORTING
            row       = 1
            column    = 1
          RECEIVING
            container = container_1.
        CREATE OBJECT grid1
          EXPORTING
            i_parent = container_1.
        CALL METHOD grid1->set_table_for_first_display
          EXPORTING
            is_layout       = gss_layout
            is_variant      = lwa_variant
            i_save          = 'A'
          CHANGING
            it_outtab       = gt_report_list
            it_fieldcatalog = gtt_fld_cat.

  • Blog layouts not displaying

    Good day to all and thank you for your time,
    We are unable to get the blog layouts rendering accordingly, it seems to be a conflict with BC css and our own CSS.
    Nevertheless, was  hoping if anyone might have ideas in into helping us resolve this issue?
    Here is the link
    http://www.unilevelstudios.com/web-design-and-development/good-logo-design
    I've also looked at other blog post but no resolution found, thank you for all your help.
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1219155?q=blog%20not%20showing

    Hi there, if you view the console you can see lots of errors trying to load files and not able to.
    If you look at the path of these you can see it is looking for your functions.js for example here:
    http://www.unilevelstudios.com/web-design-and-development/js/functions.js
    The reason is you have your files like this:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="js/functions.js"></script>
    Every script call and css and image ALWAYS needs to start with a forward slash ( / ) which means - Read from the root. Your issue is not the same as in that other thread.

  • Multiple blogs with different sidebars

    We created a second blog on our site. I would like the two blogs to have different sidebars.
    I found the original sidebar in:
    Module Templates -> Blog Layouts -> Overall Blog Layout
    I would like to duplicate this file and modify the content and assign that new file to my new blog.
    How can I do this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

  • Adding Archive list to blog layout

    Hi
    Any idea how to add an Archive list to the blog layout to show all recent blogs by date?
    A good example is the BC blog page (the archive list on the bottom right).
    http://www.businesscatalyst.com/bc-blog
    Thanks
    Micha

    Hi Micha,
    You can use {tag_blogpostarchive,number of months,number of posts within month}.
    To display recent posts, please refer to the following thread

  • Data Merge/Multiple Record Layout...Can you change the order?

    I just had to do a mail merge with 4 postcards on a single letter size sheet.  Getting them to print with 4 different addresses per sheet using the Multiple Record Layout wasnt the problem.  You can choose for them to go in order from left to right or top to bottom.  Ok, thats all good.
    The problem I found was after cutting them, its impossible to keep them in order without doing a manual shuffle of all the cards.  Is there a way to have it print in an order so when they are cut, the 4 stacks can just stack on top of each other and stay in a proper order?  (using CS5)

    Well you cant really resort the excel file to work that way, not quickly or easily at all anyway.
    Currently it prints like this (representing the 4 corners of the page:
    page 1
    1    2
    3   4
    page 2
    5    6
    7    8
    page 3
    9    10
    11   12
    etc...
    There is no way to keep these in order after cutting without manually going through it...not fun when you have several hundred pages.  What makes a world more sense is to have it print like:
    page 1
    1    4
    7    10
    page 2
    2    5
    8    11
    page 3
    3    6
    9   12
    This way after its cut, the top left corner stack can go right on the top right corner stack, which goes on the bottom left corner, then bottom right corner.  Now you have a full stack in numerical order.
    Is it safe to say that InDesign cannot do this?

  • Multiple Blogs on ONE iweb site?

    Can someone please advise me if it's possible to install multiple blogs - which are written by different people - on the same site created using iweb?

    Well, it should be possible, and it is, but there is some general trouble with blogs/comments/podcasts in iWeb3.
    You can have a look at my site with two blogs. I don't know what causes the problem of disappearing index page images and faulty rss feeds, but it can't be the existance of two blogs on one site. It worked perfectly in iWeb2.
    This is the blog that is creating problems, the one called 'blog' is ok:
    http://web.me.com/heli1/OneHundredPoems/%E3%83%96%E3%83%AD%E3%82%B0/%E3%83%96%E3%83%AD%E3%82%B0.html
    Could it be the Japanese name that is causing trouble?
    I don't think so, because I have another site with only one blog, and that is having the same trouble of misplaced images in the index page and bad rss feed.
    You could try making two blogs and see what happens. I think it should not be a problem. However, having a blog in itself can be a problem.
    We could compare results. Maybe I could learn a trick or two.

  • Multiple blog summary pages

    I'm creating a new website for sharing news and photos for my family. I want to use the iWeb blog for my entries and plan to do some customization of my site through HTML snippits, iFrames, etc. I've been reading quite a bit on this forum and other useful sites on how to do more with iWeb, but I can't seem to find a solution for the following problem.
    Let's say I allow 15 blog entries to be shown on my blog summary page yet over time I build a site with 50 or more entries. Then at least 35 will be on the archive page and that's alot to scroll through. I'd like to have the first 15 on blog summary page 1 then the next 15 on blog summary page 2, etc. Call it multiple archive pages if you will. But I want iWeb to keep track of the blog entries on those additional pages instead of me having to create new non-blog pages and copy and paste links to my entries.
    Here's an example
    http://allaboutiweb.com/
    Any way to do this with iWeb 09?
    FYI, I know there are a lot of other blogging software and hosting sites out there, but I want to use iWeb 09 because I've already created one site in the past with iWeb so I'm familiar with it. I also have a Mobile Me account with a domain name through goDaddy, so I'm publishing my iWeb site to Mobile Me with password protection.
    Appreciate the help.

    first, iweb limits blog summary to display 50 entries, so you are kinda limited if you want to have a continuous blog over the years.
    if you have less than 50 entries per year, you have to break your blog into the year and have a master archive page and link all archive blog(s) to it.
    once you decide what to do, you can use iweb rss feed widget to display the archive as feed, but i don't recommend iweb rss feed widget because it depends on mme server, unreliable at best.
    instead you can use yahoo's pipes: http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/
    yahoo pipes is reliable and flexible, you can build your own feed that you can merge other feeds into one or keep them separate, here is my example of merged feeds:
    http://www.cyclosaurus.com/Home/CyclosaurusBlog/Entries/2009/7/25Not_iWebWidget.html
    or you can tag blog entries by key words or categories, your users can narrow down the entries display with it, here my iweb blog tagging (click on any tagged word on the right side):
    http://www.cyclosaurus.com/Home/CyclosaurusBlog/Archive.html
    all code is linked to my examples. to do the above, you need to know yahoo pipes, ajax/javascript and iweb inner working parts.

  • How would I create a mobile blog layout, by combining Business Catalyst's Modules and Adobe Muse's mobile design function?

    The title says it all. I absolutely love Adobe Muse's ability to design mobile and tablet layouts and have grown very fond of the workflow between Business Catalyst and Adobe Muse. The only issue I have found is the ability to incorporate the blog module to a mobile design or tablet design. I understand that Business Catalyst has you insert a tag code to create a page template for the blog to sit in but is there any way to have a mobile and tablet layout for the same blog? I would love if visitors reading my blog from their phone, didn't have to switch from a phone layout to a desktop layout just to read the blog. Once they read/ switch the blog, they can no longer navigate back to the mobile website version because of the page template I have assigned to the blog. All in all, I just want the ability to have the blog fit all mobile, tablet, and desktop versions. Any ideas?

    Hey Brad,
    That answer really helped and I am making progress! Now for some reason when I pull up the blog on my mobile, it says 'Error: Some files are missing or can not be loaded. Please clear cache and reload the page.' Any ideas why this might be happening? I haven't used the {system_visitorDeviceClass} that you mentioned.
    Maybe the method I used to create mobile layouts was wrong but what I did was create mobile and tablet layouts with the {tag_pagecontent} on each. Once published, I copied the html code for the phone template (as it did not automatically recognize the mobile and tablet page template were part of the same desktop layout) and pasted it to my template I had already assigned as a default. I then did the same for my tablet layout. What am I missing here : /
    Thank you for all the help so far! I am making progress!

  • Is it possible to have multiple page layout in single document?

    Sure. Print the first threee pages to PDF in landscape, the remaining seven in portrait, then combine them in Acrobat either by opening the first and inserting pages from the second or by using File>Create PDF>From multiple files.

  • RSS Feed Headers for Multiple Blogs on My Site

    I have been using iWeb to design a new site that contains two separate blogs:
    http://web.me.com/matthew.sholler/Site/Notebook/Notebook.html
    http://web.me.com/matthew.sholler/Site/Civics/Civics.html
    When I test the RSS feed for each in Safari, however, I have a problem. The "Notebook" blog name appears in the blue banner, but when I access the "Civics" blog feed, its name does not. Can anyone tell me how to make it appear? I realize that Apple may not have intended to allow the use of more than one blog for iWeb, but any creative solutions for my idea are welcome.

    I figured this out myself: In my haste to redesign the layout of my blog pages, I left the pre-set text box for the blog name blank--so the feed banner appeared blank as well.
    On a side note, I've seen a lot of questions on this board concerning blogs and feeds, and many of them have gone unanswered for months. How are people supposed to rely on this board for support if no one answers their questions?

  • Custom Blog Layout - What appoach is best?

    Goodmorning all,
    I want to customise the layout of a blog site. I want to change:
    1. the home page of it: the way the short overview of articles is shown. I want to add social buttons to every blog item, add a picture to the left, ... and such more.
    2. when the user clicks on the article and gets the full view, I also want to display more or less the same extra's as mentioned above.
    How do I start doing this? I know SP Designer and all the other basics, I can make custom masterpages, but regarding this topic: I have no clue where to start.
    Thanks,
    Fledermaus

    Hi Herr, there's no easy answer for this- it requires you to be able to program code. If you don't know how, I suggest you search for a third party tool.

  • Blog layout in BC

    the blog tags in BC are on top of the posts and only partly listed. The tags need to go to the right and all should be listed. What is wrong perhaps under module templates?

    Matt,
    The blog I am referring to is:  www.centennialcoloradocounselor.com It seems that when i connect the blog to the "latest from Patricia" the page can't be found. When I link it to the blog page—blog.html I get the set up wrong. On the first page it shows the posts with the tags on top and not complete. When one clicks on the tags it takes you to the whole set up but it isn't on the blog page. I need it to show up on the blog page with the complete set up (overall layout).
    I would appreciate some help!!
    Thanks, Elvi
    I sent this earlier and no one has replied.
