Multiple calendar entries in subscribed calendars

I have an IPhone 3GS (software version 4.3.3) and have subscribed to a calendar published from Outlook 2007.
The issue is that I get multiple calendar entries on the IPhone, and only on the IPhone, for calendar entries that have been edited.  If I subscribe to the calendar from a computer, no multiple calendar entries appear.
For example, suppose I had a repeating entry on the Outlook calendar that had an appointment form Tom every Monday morning at 9:30 and that that calendar had been published to the web. Also suppose I've subscribed to that calendar on the IPhone.  Suppose also that I then edit a single instance of that repeating entry and change the appointment to be with Nic and re-publish the calendar.
On the IPhone I will see both the original appointment with Tom and the changed appointment with Nic.
If I subscribe to that same calendar using another computer with Outlook 2007 installed, I only see the new entry.
I have tried unsubscribing from the calendar, unsharing/resharing the calendar, turning off/on the IPhone, and nothing makes a bit of difference.  I've tested this on another IPhone 3GS and it displays the same symptoms.
Under settings, I see the calendar associated with my Outlook account (Comcast), and one subscribed calendar.  The server for the subscribed calendar is calendars.office.microsoft.com/pubcalstorage/vqh8dk8z895660/Houston_Bridge_Stud io_Calendar.ics .
Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution?
Help would be appreciated.

  • Collate multiple calendar entries

    Hi Guys,
I have a family of 5 all on iPhone's and IPads with thier own calendars.  My wife and I also have work calendars.
To keep track of what our kids are up to we get them to 'invite' us to events in thier calendars (work shifts etc) so that if we are viewing the calendar on our phones it shows up in our own calendar...
The problem happens when we open the calendar app on the iPad and show both our calendar and the kids calendar... sometimes the same event is shown on three different calendars.
Is there some way of getting the Calendar app to condense the double and triple entries into a single entry when viewing multiple calendars?

I had this issues. When I looked in the iCal preferences it still had my MobileMe account in there. I deleted that and all was well.
    Hope this helps.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Multiple calendars appeared on my iphone - can't get rid of them???

I'm not sure at all how this happened, but I have multiple calendars on my iphone which causes duplicate entries.
When I look at Calendars now, I have choices of All Calendars, All from my Mac, or All from MobileME.
There were other choices until I delete all but Calendar in iCal.
how in the world do you delete these calendars? The mobile me choices includes a bunch like Birthdays, Holidays, Home, Work etc... I only need one so I deleted all the others on my mac and they don't show up in Mobileme online but they DO on the iPhone..
very annoying... and I'm sure I screwed it up, but how to fix it???
    thanks,
    tom

Neuroanatomist... YOU are a freakin' GENIUS !!!
Thanks so much !!! I've been screwing around with this darn thing for a week.. thank god I got the right answer before I messed up my whole system..

  • Syncing multiple calendars to a Nokia N70

    Hi there
This is my first post and I hope I'm not duplicating any previous ones.
I have just bought a new Nokia N70 and I am very pleased with it - I'd highly recommend it as a solid phone. In the near future, I'll be getting a GPS for it and also hope to use some kind of Office package on it.
I'm using OS X 10.4.6 and found, once I'd activated Bluetooth, iSync worked straight away and synced my Address Book (with pictures) and iCal. My question is this though - has anyone tried syncing multiple calendars and kept the categories on the phone?
The built in calendar on the N70 doesn't appear to support categories, well certainly nothing you can customise, so I downloaded a trial of AquaCalendar which does. However, when I synced, all the category information was lost. Syncing back to the Mac, you can tell iSync to place items created on the phone to a specific calendar, so that's ok, it's just the other way around.
Basically I have 4 calendars on iCal, 1 for me, 1 for my wife, 1 for Birthdays and 1 for UK Hols (subscribed) They have a particular colour and love the way iCal shows them. What I want is to transfer this colour set so I get the same thing on the N70. Anyone had any sucess with this?
    Many thanks
    Simon

    langert3,
You would have to upgrade to Tiger to publish several calendars as a group.
Publishing calendars to .Mac: If you're using iCal 2.0 or later, you can create Calendar groups and publish them to .Mac. If you publish a Calendar group, all the events and To Do information from the calendars in the group is merged and published in one calendar. You can also choose to publish individual calendars in the group.Unfortunately that feature is not available in iCal 1.5.5.

  • Source of Multiple Calendars in Outlook 2007 and iCloud (iOS7.0.4)

Source of Multiple Calendars in Outlook 2007 and iCloud (iOS7.0.4)
My  iPhones (2) and iPad list the following color-coded calendar names when the word "Calendar" is pressed at the bottom of the calendar screen:  All iCloud (no colored dot), Calendar (Blue Dot),  Home (orange Dot), Saved emails (red dot), and Saved emails (2)( green dot).
Calendar items created on both iPhones are coded with a blue dot and appear on a blue background in iCloud and on the phones.  Calendar items created  on my iPad appear on a green background (saved emails 2)  on my iPad and my iphones. Why isn't the color "Blue"? It appears that entries made on Outlook appear in Saved Emails (red).
I have not imported or connected with any external calendars.
This behavior raises the following questions:
    1)  Should entries created  on each device appear in a different color?
    2)  Does the color associated with an entry designate a specific device or a specific type of device?
    3)  Which device is the "Home" device referred to in paragraph 1 above?
    4)  Why would a Calendar be named with a reference to "saved emails"? From where would it come.
My understanding about synching with iCloud was that any entry from any iDevice (phone or pad)  or iCloud would appear in both iCloud and  in the calendars of all devices on the same  Apple Account.  Please confirm my understanding or correct it.
With iCloud as the hub, must I still utilize Microsoft Outlook?  I am retired and no longer need Outlook for work.
Can I edit any calendar entry in I cloud had have it change it in all the devices, or must it be edited in the device in which the entry was originally made?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would ditch Outlook like a bad habit.
Now to answer your questions starting at the bottom.  yes, you can edit any and all iCloud Calendars on iCloud.com.  You can rename your calendars, re-color them, create, edit or delete events, etc.
So you asked a question on why your calendars are named 'saved emails'.  This sounds like something that would be created from Outlook since you can send email to the calendar in Outlook.  If you quit using outlook, you can simply rename the calendars to something more sensible or delete them entirely.
About calendar colors.  Each calendar you (or your mail program on your behalf) has created gets assigned a name and color.  Each color helps your identify which calendar and event belongs to.  When you create a new event from your iOS device or iCloud.com, you will find a handy little section that says 'calendar' where you can specify to which calendar (or color) you want that event to be on.  You will also find this option when tapping and editing and event on the iOS devices or icloud.com.  If you want all of your devices to default to the same calendar when creating a new event, on your iOS devices go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Scroll to the section that says 'Calendar' in gray (its at the very bottom) and change the 'default calendar' to whatever you want the defualt to be.  You can also change the default in iCloud.com by clicking the gear icon.
My recommendation: 1) Ditch Outlook. Go to your Control Panel > iCloud and uncheck Outlook. 2) Move all of your events to one or two calendars.  if you don't have a need for multiple calendars, just simplify your life and move them all to one calendar.  You can edit the event and change the calendar, then go back and delete the other calendars that are confusing you with all the different colors.  You can rename, recolor, create and delete calendars form your iOS device by tapping calendar in the bottom of the screen when in the calendars app then tap edit in the top left.  You can also do these same things on iCloud.com  Where ever is easiest for you will work.

  • How to Merge Multiple Calendars?

Somehow I have managed to end up with 11 different iCloud calendars.   I would like to merge them to one or two calendars.  I tried deleting the calendar but then I get a message saying if I delete the calendar, all of the events associated with that calendar will be deleted, which I don't want to do.  Suggestions?
I think that as a result of the multiple calendars, I have multiple holidays showing up on my calendar.  For example, St. Patricks days shows up twice.  This clogs up my calendar with unnecessary events.  How to I reduce the holidays to one?

Thanks for the response, but it now has created a bigger problem.  I was able to follow your instructions on two of the calendars and it worked well.  However, on the third calendar, in importing the exporting ics file into the calendar I want to keep I get the following error:
"The server responded with an error.  The event "xxx event" was rejected by "iCloud" because it already exists".
    I then get three options:
    1) Ignore
    2) Try Again  (The same error message occurs)
    3) Revert to Server (I have no idea what this means - but when I click it, nothing seems to happen)
There doesn't seem to be a way to get out of this import activity and error messages.  I have to Force Quit the program to stop.  I have tried restarting the computer and the same thing occurs.  Now I can't use iCal (although if I go into my iCloud calendar on Safari - that works).
I suppose I could continue to click on Ignore and eventually it would go through all of the duplicate entries.  However, there is probably 10 to 15 years of entries.   There could thousands if not tens of thousands of entries.
Any suggestions?   Maybe I will sit down for a long movie and click on "Ignore" several thousand times and that will solve the problem!

  • Multiple Calendars - Proxied Calendar

We have approx. 130 BB users in our organization, and we're all on BB 9630s,  running BES 5.0 (upgrading to the next version on Friday). Using Exchange 2007 as backend email system and Outlook 2007 as the front end.
I've browsed through the forums here and found lots of multiple calendar entries, but they always pertain to 1 user - my issue's a little different.
We have an administrative assistant with proxy rights to her supervisor's calendar. She is able to access her own Exchange calendar just fine on the BB, but wants access to the proxied calendar as well.
Is this possible, and if so - how?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I agree with Diane, if you are in a company and have to co-work with others, the Exchange account will be more featured than the Hotmail account.
    Thanks,

  • Single Event / Multiple Calendars. Share All iCal At Once.....

    Hi,
I would like to share my calendars with my partner - we are both iCal/iCloud users.
We would like a calendar that is for our own personal use, which is straight forward enough, but it would be great if single entries within that calendar can be added to multiple calendars, so an event could be added to 'personal' as well as 'projectX'. Is this possible?
Also, I use iCal for scheduling my work and individual projects - each project has it's own calendar. Is it possible for me to share all of those calenders wholesale without having to share each individual one?... essentially a single read only calender share so that my partner doesn't get the clutter of multiple calenders but get's the overall picture.
Thanks in advance for any help!

How about just inserting the URL's for multiple documents in
    an email?

  • Getting rid of MULTIPLE calendars

I just discovered that I have 3 calendars - one for my business Outlook email address. (which I want), and one called <my name>@vzw.blackberry.net (which I don't want) and another called "Desktop". I ONLY want the ONE that synchs with my business Outlook email address. How do I get rid of these other two?? I just learned today that an entry I made on my BB did not synch with my laptop Outlook becasue it was in the "desktop" calendar.
I would also LOVE to get rid of the <my name>@vzw.blackberry.net EM address becuase I get two of every email. I have Verizon service and I don't know if that EM address is required. Can someone PLEASE help?? I not have 3 calendars all with separate appointments on them. I wnat ONE consolidated calendar on my BB and on my laptop (business Outlook). thanks!

Go to your Calendar, then go to its Menu button > Options, then type MOVE. (You won't see this typed on the screen.)  This will invoke a popup, asking if you'd like to move/merge your calendars into the device default (1 calendar).  After you've OK'ed this, do a battery pull while your BB is turned on, and this will get you set up.
You will have this issue again in the future unless you remove all of the other calendars [CICAL] listed in your Service Books.  For more info on merging calendars and such, here's a good link to get you started:

  • 2.0 appears to support multiple calendars!

Did anyone else notice this? Go the the iPhone site and check out the Calendar portion of the update. There's an arrow-looking button at the top left that says "Calendars," much like the "Groups" button in your contacts and the view options are now at the bottom of the screen. Also, the day listing is now color-coded and there are colored dots next to each event in list view. Oh boy oh boy I hope that's actually what's going on. I also hope it'll let me create events in different calendars!

Yep. I noticed that too, last night. The Calendar interface in 2.0 has a LOT of changes from the current version.
If you look at the video closely, it appears that Events that you've been invited to will show up with a dotted line around them. You can either Accept, Maybe, or Decline the invite. Once Accepted, the invite will lose the dotted line, and get a colour coded background.
Since the iPhone 2.0 supports multiple calendars, I wonder if you will be able to subscribe to someone else's single calendar, and have that show up, merged in with all of your calendars in All Calendars view?

  • IPhone Multiple Calendars

Can anyone tell me if Apple is working on fixing the problem with multiple calendars. Specifically if you have multiple calendars when syncd to the iphone they all show up on the same calendar with no discerning color or label to tell them apart. Also when adding an entry FROM iphone it will put this in only one designated calendar back on your computer. I am confused didn't Apple create both the iCal and iPhone? Seems like they should be able to work seamlessly.

No one here knows what Apple is working on but if someone here is privileged to such information they aren't allowed to say. The iPhone must work with Windows applications in this regard as well as with iCal.
The only thing you can do is provide Apple your feedback via the iPhone feedback link.

  • Outlook Sync - Multiple Calendar Problem

(I am not sure whether this belongs in this Forum or would be more appropriately directed to my Device (Curve 8900) forum or Desktop Software.  Please advise or re-direct if that is the case.)
I am having a sync issue with Outlook, and it revolves around the issue of having multiple calendars on the Device, each of which is associated with an e-mail address.  I understand this has been a relatively common question; however, although I admittedly may be looking in the wrong place, I have yet to come across a comprehensive solution.
I understand how to switch the "default" e-mail associated with scheduling items on the calendar, and I believe I'm correct in thinking that this is what syncs with Outlook.  I've noticed that when I try switching the default, Outlook wants to delete all other appointments which are NOT associated with that device calendar.
So I guess my specific questions are:
    1) Is there a way to have Outlook sync with ALL calendars on the device, i.e. not just the default?  It's easy enough to make all appointments from here on out with a single account & have that be the one that syncs; however, it doesn't seem possible to do that without having Outlook want to delete all other appointments.
    2) Is there a way to change the associated email/calendar for events on the Device?  When I open an event, I can see which email/calendar it is but I don't know how to *change* it -- I only seem to have a choice when scheduling new events.
If either of these was an option, I think that would solve my problem -- I could either go through the device & convert everything to the default email/calendar & everything would be there upon sync, OR Outlook would just pick up everything from all calendars when I sync.
I don't understand why it's so complicated to have everything in one place!
Thanks in advance to those willing to share their wisdom & advice in this matter.

I was going to post that article but you beat me to it.
I believe this is the only way to accomplish this on a BlackBerry

  • I have a question about the calendar on the ipad2. I have multiple calendars in different colors. Some of the events are filled in with color. Others are just listed with a colored dot in front of the event. Any ideas why events ar showing up differently?

I have an ipad2 and my question is about the calendar. I set up multiple calendars with different colors. Some of the events show up in filled color. Others only show with a colored dot in front of the event. I can't figure out why some show up one way and others show up differently? Any thoughts?

On mine the ones that show on a coloured background are all-day events, the ones with dots and just timed events.
