Multiple calendars in iCal

hi guys, is there a way to setup iCal and or my iPhone so that i can see my calendar plus another calendar that has been shared with me? The Calendars are on our Exchange Mail server that we are hosting from our apartment.

.....iCal......waaaaaayyyyy too complicated for me apparently.  I ended up switching phones which doesn't use iCloud and now I can happily eliminate this calendar mess from my dock.  Wow.  1/2 my day was spent on the calendar mess.  Glad that nightmare is over!

  • How can I share multiple calendars in iCal with several different people?

I need to share multiple calendars created in iCal with all our staff. Do I enter their individual email addresses separated by a semi-colon or a "plus" sign or how. I tried entering all the email addresses with the semi-colon and when I go back to look at sharing, it just shows one email address.

I am assuming that you are referring to a responsive layout that has divisions that reposition themselves according to the width of the client browser window.
Rather than go into a teaching mode on this forum, let me point you to a nifty free Dreamweaver extension that will help you to achieve this. Have a look here http://www.dmxzone.com/go/21759/dmxzone-bootstrap?utm_source=Blog&utm_medium=link&utm_cont ent=DMXzone+Bootstrap+Released…

  • Publishing multiple calendars in iCal

Is there a way to publish multiple calendars in one view. It seems that I can
only view one calendar at a time. I want to be able to overlay all of my calendars
so we all know who's doing what when.
I''m a Mom with two girls with lots of sports activities, I want the girls to be able to view all events in all calendars like I can see on my Mac.
    Thanks for any input.
    Roberta

    Hi Roberta,
You can publish multiple calenders by creating a Calendar Group. Here are some styp-by-step instructions:
    - Open the menu 'File' and click the option 'New Calendar Group'.
    - Once this new Calendar Group has been created, rename it (for instance to 'Family', 'Sports' or whatever you like).
    - After renaming the Calendar Group, add the calendars which you wish to publish.
    - FInally... publishing Calendar Group works the same as for single calendars (select the Calender Group and choose from the menu 'Calendar' the option 'Publish').
    I hope this works.

  • Lost multiple calendars on ical/outlook client after itunes upgrade to 10.6 40

I have been sybcing my calendars between ical, outlook for mac, gmail, and others for over a year. I lost all calendar items that were not on my mac as of two days ago. The only update I can think of is an update to iTunes 10.6 40.
    How do I recover?

  • I created multiple calendars in iCal but after syncing, all disappeared but one. However, calendar names still appear in key on left. Where are they?

The checkboxes next to all calendars are checked.
I've tried "hold[ing] down the Command key while [I] check a calendar's checkbox in the calendar list.
    I've tried many things.
    Where did my calendars go?!!
I'd appreciate any and all help.
    Thanks!

  • Multiple calendar capability ?

I thought that this was supposed to be an option now? When I setup my Exchange options for calendar, it prompted me with the "This will remove your existing calendars fro you iPhone" warning.
Am I missing something or was this really not part of the upgrade?

An iPhone will sync with Exchange and MobileMe, with both being push. Using it this way you can have Exchange for work and MobileMe for personal.

You can also have multiple calendars within iCal on the Mac and in Outlook on Windows but still be within the same service. In Outlook it should be in the list of items under New button. I can verify this in Outlook 2007, but I am not sure of Outlook 2003.

  • Tips on how to organize multiple iCloud calendars in iCal 5.0

Found some workarounds but looking for tips from others since I have not been using Lion and the new iCal very long.
    Situation:
I use iCal for work and have my own calendars and manage my boss's multiple calendars. An upgrade to Lion has thrown a monkey wrench as we now have to use iCloud to have read/write access to the calendars. The new look of iCal is very cluttered with all of these entries and color coding is not enough to be easy on the eyes to differentiate what is what. The new simplified look hides the master list of calendars which acted as a legend. Now in order to figure out what calendar an entry belongs to, I have to click to reveal the list of calendars and make a guess (due to the # of calendars the colors are used more than once) or click on the item and then edit for the details. The list of calendars is not very helpful as everything is under iCloud, both mine and the boss's, with no indication as to which belongs to whom. The shared icon being visible is a clue but not that much help. A subgroup automatically created by AppleID or the ability to create an iCloud group would be very useful.
    Work arounds:
Leaving the inspector open helps eliminate 1 click so now I don't have to click on edit to reveal which calendar and entry belongs to.
To make the calendar list more manageable, I manually reordered the calendars and renamed each one of my boss's calendars with their name on it.
Tips for those that have to deal with supporting someone who deletes entries without telling you:
I maintain a travel calendar for the boss and put the details of their trip (such as hotel information) into the entry but as their travel decisions are erratic, they often delete these entries when they decide not to travel for work then later notify me to cancel the hotel but the information is lost since they deleted the entry. Frustrating. I could keep a copy elsewhere, such as email, text file, etc, but I prefer the organization of a calendar. I created a duplicate calendar on my end that they do not have access to where I copy and paste each entry of their calendar into mine. This way, when they delete an entry in their calendar, I still have the trip info. I'm curious for those that deal with this sort of thing, is this the best practice? For example, is there a way to auto duplicate or create multiple entries without copy and paste? (For now, iCal does not appear to let you put the same event on multiple calendars.)
Does anyone have any other tips for organizing multiple calendars, especially in this sort of situation where you are dealing with the calendars of others? I would really like the month view or week view to be more understandable. The color coding just isn't enough. Is there a way to put the title of the calendar to appear in the entry for week/month view?

I just transfered all of my data over to iCloud today.  I run a summer college program and I had all of my calendars neatly ordered on my computer under Calendar Groups - and color coded.  It was a bit frustrating to see that I would not be able to organize them in this way on iCloud.  I like your ideas - they were helpful.  I hope they update and improve on this for us!

  • Multiple calendars appearing in iCal

I have multiple calendars set up on my iCal for different family members. For some reason, some (but not all) of those calendars are also showing up (sometimes more than once) under the "on my Mac" tab in iCal. Any idea why, and how do I get rid of them?

As long as all the devices are logged into the same iCloud account, and are running Lion 10.7.2 or iOS5 as applicable, and have the calendar syncing turned on in System Preference (or Settings)>iCloud then they will all read the same calendars from the iCloud server.
If you have more than one iCloud account then it's still possible by Sharing.

  • ICal - multiple calendars ics attachment issue

I have multiple calendars configured within iCal (iCloud, gmail, work). Work is configured as default/primary when receiving new invitations. When I accept an ics invite, it automatically appears under iCloud. If i change it to work, the invite disappears from my calendar view. If i disable iCloud and gmail, accepting invites into my work calendar functions properly.
This was not an issue prior to upgrading to Mavericks. Appreciate any assistance
    Thanks,
    Gautam

    Hello
I can offer no help, but sympathize with your dilemma. I love that you can set up several calendars on iCal and view only what you want. I have set up calendars for b-days, bills, school, work, my wife's school..... and I love how uncluttered the separate views are.
It sounds like the only option would be (and Apple must love this!) to purchase an iPhone or iTouch so that you can just keep your calendar with you, and forget about accessing your iCal on any PC.

  • Single Event / Multiple Calendars. Share All iCal At Once.....

    Hi,
I would like to share my calendars with my partner - we are both iCal/iCloud users.
We would like a calendar that is for our own personal use, which is straight forward enough, but it would be great if single entries within that calendar can be added to multiple calendars, so an event could be added to 'personal' as well as 'projectX'. Is this possible?
Also, I use iCal for scheduling my work and individual projects - each project has it's own calendar. Is it possible for me to share all of those calenders wholesale without having to share each individual one?... essentially a single read only calender share so that my partner doesn't get the clutter of multiple calenders but get's the overall picture.
Thanks in advance for any help!

How about just inserting the URL's for multiple documents in
    an email?

  • Multiple entries from iCal calendar being displayed, why?

My Trainingpeaks account is synced with calendar using iCal. Recently multiple entries fro the same vent are being displayed. How do I stop this?

Probably because of iCloud since I assume you started it up on both Macbook and a mobile device.

  • ICal maxed out. I need to compare multiple calendars.

I need to see many multiple calendars at once (college schedules), more than iCal easily displays. It would help to see them in a graph. Could I use Pages or other app without having to re-enter all the date data?
    Help.

    I guess I don't get it.
RMI servers are inherently multi-threaded, so why are you running separate servers for every client?

  • HT1694 Does iCal sync multiple calendars from Windows Live or just one?

I'm considering moving from WP7 to an iPhone since Sprint won't carry the Z10 or WP8, but I need to be able to sync multiple Windows Live calendars to even consider it.  I have about 12 setup that sync perfectly with my PlayBook and my HTC Arrive.  To make the switch I have to be able to keep that sync capability.  Thanks for the info!

  • Multiple separate calendars in iCal?

Quick one: If I'm syncing my calendar between work and home, I hesitate to use iCal for certain info (say scheduled reminders to pay bills) that others might access on my work machine. Is it possible to maintain 2 or more separate calendars within the same app? Other options for restricting access to a specific calendar within iCal?

I am not 100% sure that what I am saying is going to answer what your asking.
Below I have steps that will allow you to have all your calendars on your home computer all your calendars on your ipod (as a backup) and some of your calendars on your work computer. If this is not what your asking then I am sorry.
I like the iPod method. I use it and it has saved my bum at least once. I would, on your computer at home, create a separate calendar or calendar(s) that you don't want to show up on your computer at work.
When you go to work plug in your ipod. Open itunes if its not already open and in the preferences under ipod you will see a calendar section. Tell it to only sync the calendars you do want. once you have that set up, eject your ipod and remove from your computer at work the calendars you don't want.
If what you are asking is to actually separate out whole calendars so you don't even see them. What I mean is have one iCal window open with calendars a, b, c and another window open with calendars 1, 2, 3 where you can control them independently of each other then I have to say sorry you cant do that, not exactly anyway. It involves moving folders around in the library. Truly un-elegant

  • How to remove calendar in ical

I clicked on a link that added a calendar to my ical which has now synced with my Google calendar and added all the events to it as well.  Unfortunately, I did not realize that this was going to add every single instance (multiple events per day) to all my calendars.
I'd like to reverse this action but there is not easy way to do this in ical it seems.  I cannot "delete" the calendar because it does not appear in the list of subscribed calendars in ical.
I subscribed to two calendars this way and I'd like to remove them both.  I also have to now deal with how to remove hundreds of entries in my Google calendar....and it seems there is no batch delete there either unless I pay for a third party program....arrrgh
If anyone can shed some light on this I'd be most grateful.

Thanks for your reply.  I "subscribed" to a couple of motorsports calendars in iCal by visiting a direct link on the Apple website like this one: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/calendars/2011motogpworldchampionshipcalen darprovisional_gpticketltd.html
This adds the events contained in this calendar directly to iCal and I can't for the life of me find a way to "unsubscribe" or eliminate these entries short of erasing them manually one by one.  Unfortunately, there are many of them.
If you know how I may go about doing this in an efficient manner, please let me know!
