Multiple calendars without exchange or mobileme

I don't have access to an exchange server. And after using mobileme for a while, I don't think it's work $99 just to be able to have more than one calendar, which is all I'm using it for.
Is it possible to sync more than one calendar with the iPhone? I have Outlook 2007

Yes. Just create multiple calendars in Outlook and they will sync

  • Setting up two calendars, Microsoft Exchange and MobileMe

I tried searching the forum and could not find the instructions. If they are there, please do post the link because it means I used the wrong search terms.
I keep hearing that you can have both a Microsoft Exchange calendar and MobileMe calendar on the iPhone. So I finally signed up to get my Microsoft Exchange activated at work. In iCal, I do have about 14 calendars (which I essentially use as categories) that are all synced to my iPhone through MobileMe. The instructions to setup the connection to the Exchange server, however, are very clear that once I activate the Exchange calendar, it will delete all the contacts and calendar entries currently on my iPhone. Since all my personal stuff is synced through MobileMe, I am wary of activating the calendar without step-by-step instructions about how to get both calendars on my iPhone, especially if syncing might then delete from MobileMe and my desktop.
Any help or links to instructions elsewhere that I missed is appreciated.

After enabling syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with a MobileMe account on an iPhone, if you turn Contacts and Calendar events off for over the air syncing, the contacts and calendar events downloaded from and being kept synchronized with your MobileMe online address book and calendars will be erased from your iPhone, but this does not touch your MobileMe online address book and calendars. The same when deleting a MobileMe account from an iPhone.
When you first enabled syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with your MobileMe account on your iPhone, you should have been provided the same warning message. This deletes all contacts and calendar events created and stored locally with the iPhone and/or that were being synced direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process.
Are you still syncing contacts and calendar events direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process, which is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes? Have you done this since turning Contacts and Calendar events on for over the air syncing with your MobileMe account on your iPhone?

  • Multiple calendars without syncing.

Hi, I would like to create multiple calendars on my iPhone (Such as work, university, social etc.) with different colours. But I am not syncing my iPhone to anything. Is there anyway to do this? If not, what is the easiest way to do it with syncing?
    Thanks

The only way I know of to add calendars to an iPhone is to turn on the calendar associated with an email account. Example: I have a gmail account set up on my phone and if I go into the settings for the account I can turn on the calendar.
Hope someone else chimes in if there is a different way.

  • Can I Share Calendar without Exchange Account? in outlook 2013 (Professional Ed.)

    Hello,
I would like to share my calendar with one of my office colleague, we are not using Microsoft Exchange Server, we are on Google business Apps Account.
My Share Calendar option is Grayed out (Plz. refer to attached image).
I will appreciate if some may inform the possibility to enable Share Calendar option ?
    Thanks & regards
    Ali

    Hi,
The Share Calendar option is only available for Exchange account. If you want to share calendar for a non-Exchange account, you'll need to publish it online. See:
    https://support.office.com/en-ie/article/Share-an-Outlook-calendar-with-other-people-cafb9303-1b1e-40d3-839d-b6abac03a5e8
Since you are using Google Apps Account, you can try using Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook. With this,
you can easily share calendars with other Google Apps users, both within your organization and publicly. People can view your calendar either in Outlook or from their Google Calendar account in a web browser. See:

  • Calendar Request: Exchange to MobileMe

    Hi,
I'm trying to send calendar meeting requests to a mobile me account but the email on the iphone simply comes up as ics attachments with no way to open them.
Has this chestnut of a problem been solved?
Many thanks in advance for any help...

So they make it compatible with Exchange, then its not compatible with MobileMe, Outlook 2002, Outlook Express, Lotus Notes, TBird and a whole range of others.
Not so daft actually - adopting a proprietary Microsoft format as a standard is rarely a good thing.
Actually its already highly compatible for 99.9% of users who keep two or three telephone numbers. More than that per user is unusual.

  • TS1868 Setting up multiple calendars from Exchange

My exchange account has 2 calendars.  I have one set up but how do I set up the second.  They are both with the same email address

I have a 30in cinema display for my main editing monitor, but i wanted to put my old 20 inch monitors to use so I plugged them in. < </div>
How many do you have plugged in? This implies more than 2 20" and your 30", too. How many cards you got?
The white box is debugged mostly on your end, try plugging different monitors into different ports. Try switching the color settings.

  • Multiple calendars on new phone using exchange

if you would like multiple calendars on exchange using outlook 2003
    go to calendars
    go to settings
    or to your advanced tab
    check off *allow multiple calendars*
    add your calendar
rename calendar by right clicking on it
voila the phone now has as many calendars as you start
on list you will see a different color dot per each calendar
on upper left you will see calendars touch it
all or a list of what you named each one will appear

Hi, thank you for your post.
Can you please be more specific when you describe the steps? Outlook 2003 doesn’t have “Settings” or Advanced tap” under calendar. I searched in Help for “Allow Multiple Calendars” and there is nothing in there. I looked all the calendar options, didn’t find anything.
I did a lot of research and didn’t find anybody that says “it is possible to view multiple calendars on Iphone 3G” You are saying it is possible but your step are not accurate.
    Thanks for any feedback.

  • Multiple calendars, 1 (work) via Exchange, no Nuevasync

PC user here, looking for any new ideas please for a fix to be able to sync two calendars to my 3G iPhone. Have to have work e-mail and calendar via employer's MS Exchange server, so that unfortunately nixes syncing Google calendar via Exchange. Was utilizing Nuevasync, but it mysteriously stopped working for me a couple months back; have purged/reset everything multiple times - it says it's working, they can't find a fix for me and I'm tired of messing with it. Have been using MobileMe which of course works flawlessly, but would love to find a cheaper alternative before ponying up $99/year. Free is great, cheap is good, even one-time fee is OK... but $99/year is making me tense.

I found a posting from a few weeks ago that sounds like a very similar problem to mine:
    http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=121467&st=0&p=859382&#entry8593 82
I still haven't found a solution. My calendar and contact items seem safe on my iPhone, but I need to be able to sync them to my MacBook.

  • Calendar Invite Attendee without EXCHANGE

I moved from Blackberry to iPhone 3GS last week. I don't use an Exchange Server, but run Outlook on my Dell desktop. All synching has been completed. Question: Is there anyway to invite an attendee from the Calendar functon of the iPhone when NOT using an Exchange Server environment? That is such a basic function I can't believe Apple doesn't provide for this rudimentary capability.

    sheidler wrote:
    Wow wow wow, STOPP
of course it is possible. If you are going to invite somebody on the iPhone you can still add a person with his/her eMail address in full name, e.g.
Wow wow what? Where do you add the invitee?? There is no option for adding an invitee unless you are creating the calendar event in an Exchange or MobileMe calendar. The OP does not seem to have either of those.

  • Multiple Calendars, Exchange Not Visible iOS8

I use Google Apps (for Business), just like the free Gmail.
I have multiple calendars that I use.  Under iOS7, I would have to select the calendars by accessing one of these URLs on my iPhone and the the Calendar app would display the multiple calendars.
    www.google.com/calendar/syncselect
    m.google.com/sync/settings/
I can select them at the above URLs, BUT calendar on my iPhone only displays one calendar (tried quitting, rebooting, etc.).  Worked great under iOS 7.  Was working under iOS8 for a iOS7 device that I upgraded.  Setting up a new iPhone 6 and cannot see other calendars.
Anyone else figure out a way to get it to work.

    Same/similar issue here.
My Google Calendars will no longer show up in the native Calendar app.
My Google account has been set up, with the Calendar toggle turned on.
I've gone to the Google mobile sync site to confirm all the calendars are enabled for syncing.
When I set up the Calendar 5 app, all calendars appear there.
I've done the usual troubleshooting (deleting Google account and re-installing, restarting phone, etc).
I also tried setting up an Exchange account  for Google, but to no avail.
I switched from Verizon to ATT and set up my new iPhone 6 as a new device (rather than restoring from the previous backup).
I've confirmed that all the settings for calendar are the same on my old iPhone 5 (where calendars were working okay) and iPhone 6 are identical.
So must be some sort of bug in iOS8....

  • Can I sync my iPhone calendar with exchange server AND ical on my mac ?

I have been happily using my iPhone synced with my Macbook over usb via iTunes.
I have contacts and iCal syncing. I have a number of 'calendars' set up in iCal which allow me to view separate aspects of home and work but they all exist within iCal. iPhone just treats these as colour coded appointments (different colour for each ical calendar)
I really like this set up.
However, I just changed jobs to a firm where they have a hosted outlook exchange set up and I need to use the exchange calendar for work appointments and showing my availability.
I have managed to setup my iPhone to work with the Exchange server for email as well as in apple Mail on my mac. This has all worked fine. However, I hesitated when iPhone asked if i wanted to sync my contacts and calendar. I said no as I was unsure if my private calendar/contacts would be uploaded to the public work area.
In fact it seems that this is the least of my worries:
As I have read on apple support for iPhone:
"Note that after configuring an Exchange ActiveSync account, all existing contact and calendar information on the iPhone or iPod touch is overwritten. Additionally, iTunes no longer syncs contacts and calendars with your desktop computer. You can still sync your iPhone or iPod touch wirelessly with MobileMe services."
So I am really pleased that I didn't let it sync those and wipe out my personal data if that is really true.
But now I am unsure how best to enable myself to view and update the work calendar on exchange.
Also it would be nice to see work contacts on my iPhone.
    Contacts
    - although i have said no to sync contacts with Exchange in fact it looks like I can get contacts ok - when i send email from the Exchange account on the phone , it searches Exchange contacts on the server as i type in the TO box.
    - also in Contacts on the iPhone I have a new group that has been created with the name of my Exchange account. The group appears to be blank when you go into it on the phone, but you can type in the search box and get contact details from the server just fine.
This seems workable for now for my purposes, although updating contacts is not going to be possible that way.
I'd like more info on that if poss but more importantly..
    Calendar
    - Unlike Contacts, no Calendar has been auto created for Exchange
    - Unlike contacts, I can't see how I can view or search or create an appointment in my Exchange calendar on the iPhone
What is the best solution to this problem - I presume lots of people face the same dilemma. My initial research suggests that there are multiple ways round this but all of them look like workarounds with various disavantages.
    Questions are
    - Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
    - Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
    - What is the best work around for this?
At the moment I am seriously considering getting a separate iPhone for work and have that sync with Exchange fully although that seems a bit drastic and does not solve the problem of seeing work and home appointments on the same calendar.

Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.
Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

  • Calendar Invitations Using iCal Synced with Google Calendar via Exchange

I have a very complicated system set up for syncing multiple calendars. I use CompanionLink to sync my work Lotus Notes calendar to iCal. I then sync my Google Calendar and my husband's Google Calendar to iCal via Exchange. I've recently added the iCal step as a way to get push notifications. That's the only reason I've gone to iCal as I have CalenGoo on my iPhone and it's been working great up to now. However, the only notifications it can do are through email. I have 2 questions.
First - using the iCal program on the iPhone, I tried to invite attendees for a meeting. No invitations were sent. Is there something that has to be set up to make this happen? Also, is it supposed to be sending them through Google or through my own email (mobileme is the primary email account on this phone)?
Second - Is it possible to mark events as Private or Public? I don't want personal events to show up in my work calendar so that others can view them.
    Thanks!

I am having the exact same problem with my ipad 2. Hope someone can help....

  • IPhone 3G doesn't sync with Outlook calendar using Exchange

First, let me just say I don't need push email, push contacts or push calendar. I just want my iPhone to sync with my existing Outlook 2007 setup like any other PDA would via ActiveSync, without having to rely on iPhone Enterprise Integration.
There are lots of articles in the knowledge-base and forum that describe how to overcome corruption of PST files, but if you're connecting to an Exchange server you'll notice that you might not even have a PST file. Outlook uses OST files for off-line cache instead and creating a PST as your default storage will cause all of the Exchange content to be delivered to your computer and erased from the server. (not good)
I've looked over all the support articles I could find, tried innumerable variations of install / re-install / disable Outlook plug-ins / start with brand new user attempts to no avail. I still have not found a way around this issue.
I know this is possible because my previous phone (a Treo700w) was able to sync contacts and my calendar without any issues and I naturally expected my iPhone to have *at least* the same capabilities.
Feels like a major design flaw for business users. Now I'm stuck with a super slick phone that doesn't do the number 1 thing I need it to do: sync with my Outlook calendar. Sorry for the rant.
Anyone else having an issue with this? As far as I can tell there's no solution posted for it.

MeatX2, I had read that article already. It describes how to overcome corrupt PST files which doesn't apply in my case.
My primary Outlook file is an OST (off-line cache) and my contacts / calendar are stored on an Exchange server. I could create a PST file and set it as the default storage, but that would cause all of my data to be delivered directly to my Outlook and erased from the server (where it is currently backed up and available from multiple computers, my desktop, laptop, etc).
Doesn't seem like Apple has a solution for syncing from OST files like other PDAs do. The only alternative seems to be their Enterprise Integration product which (despite doing cool things like push email, contacts and calendar) isn't something an end-user can install.
I just need iTunes to sync with my Outlook in the same way my old PDA did. Seems a little absurd that Apple would pitch Outlook sync capabilities and miss such a significant use-case completely.
But thanks for the reply anyway...

  • Ability to have multiple calendars in v2?

with the ability to utilize active sync, will we also gain the ability to have multiple calendars? in the current setup if i enable activsync it will sync my current personal calendar (out of itunes) with my exchange calendar and vice-versa. i'd like to have a personal and my exchange cal, but i don't want them merged
will we be able to keep them separate?

I hope so. With them adding Exchange AND the MobileME stuff, I think mulitple calendars is a must.

  • Sync two calendars without merging data

New Incredible user (had the phone ~ 1 week), and I cannot find the answer to this. I would like to sync the phone to two calendars (one at home (personal) and one over Exchange (business)). However I only want the phone to display the two calendars without updating information on both. In other words, I want to leave my personal appointments only on my personal calendar and my business appointments on my Exchange calendar.
    Is this possible?
If I set the phone to sync both calendars, will it merge ALL appointments onto all my calendars?

If I understand it's your goal to put both system and data volumes on a single volume then turn the two volumes into one, i.e., repartition the RAID into a single volume. And, you wish to do that without losing the system volume.
Does the RAID card permit such an action on the fly? I know that Disk Utility does not, but most likely your RAID is not under DU's software RAID. If this isn't permitted by your card then I don't think you can do what you want without essentially starting over.
In most cases setting up multiple volumes on a RAID array must be done when the array is set up. The drives are first partitioned then multiple arrays are structured using matching partitions.
Now if in your situation each "volume" is actually a pair of drives, then it may be possible to do what you want. RAID 5 supposedly does not split data across the drives so essentially joining one "volume" to the other could be feasible.
