Multiple CardDav accounts, can't delete

Hi everyone,
On my MacBook Pro, iPad and Samsung phone actually I keep all the calendar and contacts sync through a same account of Gmail.
With new OS X releases I usually format all my hardrive and later restore part of all the content with Time Machine. I guess when I used to only sync my data through and Apple account (iCloud) my same Mac needed to store some users accounts locally and for some reason old records are kept and can't be deleted.
All the information of the records I want to delete are empty, in my case in the Gmail account if I deselect to sync contacts they don't appear on the address book (what I want), but for some reason around my data there was files of old contacts as if I wanted to store them, not on the "cloud".
Someone with similar problems?
Thank you very much.

You can't delete it. It's there for temporary use by visitors and its contents are deleted when they log out, and it's a built-in part of the system.

family with multiple apple accounts, can we create a secondary "family" account?

You can perfectly well create a new separwate iCloud account: for this you will need to create a new Apple ID for which you will need a non-Apple email address you haven't used elsewhere for iCloud.
That done, everyone can sign into it in System Preferences (or Settings)>Mail, Contacts & Calendars and enable the various data types in the checklist there. This is a 'secondary account': its email, Contacts and Calendars will appear alongside those in the existing 'primary account' but you don't get 'push' email (it's checked periodically) and it cannot use PhotoStream.
Note that if you've been using the same device to create other accounts, there is a limit of three iCloud accounts which can be created by any one device, so if that's been reached you would have to use another device: once done the first device can sign into it perfectly well.

  • I have multiple Apple IDs, can I delete one and/or merge my accounts?

I unintentionally have multiple Apple IDs. I just switched to an iPhone and the store employee created what is now my 3rd apple Id. Is there a way I can I delete the extra accounts so that I can have my email addresses all in one place? Or is there a way to merge my accounts?

    1. No. Only Apple itself can delete Apple IDs; if desired, click here and contact them.
    2. No.

  • Multiple admin accounts, need to delete one of them ... what happens?

Ok, short story shorter - broke up with my GF and she has an account on my laptop.
She has saved all her stuff, so I'm not worried about loosing personal files/documents.
My question is though, what else may be lost that I should be careful of.
    • Will programs be lost?
I installed Adobe Suite through her account, will that be removed as well? That's an application though, that I set for 'all users'.
    • Will there be any change to system, or cause errors if that was the main Admin account?
By deleting an Admin that was in use 50% of the time, are there any system problems that may happen after I delete?
From what I remember, the system when I created another Admin account it just treated it as if someone just set up their MBP for the first time - ie. they seem to be completely independant.
Basically, I just want to make sure my experience (in my account) does not change once I've pressed the delete button.
    Much thanks in advance.
    -NTFW

    Thanks andyBall_uk,
I can confirm that there are no files/data/passwords that I'm concerned about loosing on the account I want to delete.
*BUT, on the account I want to delete - I installed Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
These programs are usable on my account as well, I see them in my Application folder even though I only installed it once.
Are you saying it will delete Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop because it was installed on that Admin account?
Thanks very much for the help!

  • E71x - Created an Email Account - Can't delete

Before anyone here cuts and pastes the usual response:
"Messaging> Options> Settings> E-mail>  highlight the account you want to delete, then Options> Delete"
Don't bother, this does not work for me and does not apply to my problem. When I click "Messaging> Options> " I get the following menu choices:
    Open
    Change Menu View
    Move
    Move to folder
    Download applications
    Check memory
Help (<-- this is the biggest joke I've ever seen)
    Exit
Notice anything missing here? Right, THERE IS NO "Settings" menu option.
Let's say we click on Messaging>Messages>Options, well, NOW there's a "Settings" menu.
click on that, and guess what? NO EMAIL MENU OPTION!
Here are my options under Messaging>Messages>Options>Settings :
    Text message
    Multimedia message
    Mail for Exchange
    Service Message
    Other
(none of these are helpful, btw)
SO without further adieu, here's what happened to me.
I created an account as follows: Messaging>Messages>Set-Up Email> enter account/server info
this creates some **bleep** step-child email routine that is not really Xpress Mail, not really Exchange. If I knew what it was, maybe I could delete it.
Now, whenever I click on Messaging>Messages I get the following:
    Inbox
    $*%&$* email account that I can't delete
    Mail for Exchange
(?) <Big **bleep** question mark with a circle around it>
<Random blank line, sometimes 3 or 4 blank lines, depends on the mood of                                 phone>
    Instant Messaging
    My folders
    ... etc
If I click on the $*%&$* email button (just below Inbox, listed above), it opens the account and asks me if I want to connect to my mailbox.
I click no, because I'm not feeling very charitable.
I then click Options>Email Settings and get the following choices:
    Connection Settings
    User Settings
    Retrieval Settings
    Automatic Retrieval
within these menus I can tweak my username, password, incoming mail server, blah blah blah. What I CAN'T do is DELETE THE FREAKING ACCOUNT.
Really, all I want to do is delete that account. It is causing me so much headache.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm begging. please help.

I would push a little harder on AT&T because the E71x is specially branded to them. To me, it sounds rediculous if tech support isn't able to figure out there own AT&T Xpressmail, they have to do better than that.

  • Two Apple user accounts, can I delete one?

After using Migration Assistant to move from a G4 tower running Tiger to an Intel tower also running Tiger, I noticed two user accounts, "Apple" and "Apple_". The "Apple" account has a creation date several years old, while the "Apple_" account was created on the date of the migration. The uid's are 501 and 502.
Can I delete the older account?

Assuming "Apple" and "Apple_" are for the convenience of the Software Update feature, I wonder if deleting the account with uid 502, "Apple_" with the most recent create date, would cause trouble. I have run the update since the migration.
How might I determine if there are sensitive files in either account? Nosing around with terminal.app at root level seems unproductive.

  • Songs from multiple apple accounts can't play at same time on same login

I have two iTunes accounts for purchases. I used to be able to play all songs purchased regardless of account used on my iTunes and my iPods (we have 4). Now, with the 7.0.1 update I can only play tunes purchased from one account or the other.
I need to be able to play purchases from both accounts on the same computer and iPods. How do I do this? Can I have multiple authorizations on one computer?

While we can have multiple authorizations, under version 7.0.1 we can't play songs or videos from one account when the other is logged in. In prior versions of iTunes it didn't matter. Plus we can't seem to play songs or videos from more than one account on our iPods, Nano, or Shuffle
We have two accounts, one for US purchases and one for French purchases. But I can also see unmarried couples with one computer having separate accounts and so on. So this is a big issue that should not have occured. It doesn't make sense to have one "household" account for all purchases vs. individual accounts with shared access from one computer.
I'd really like to see a resolution to this issue.

  • Migration Assistant created new user account & can't delete it

Hi - I'm a new Mac user (MacBook Pro). I seem to have an extra account and am not sure why. Here's what happened:
I setup my MacBook Pro and did not run Migration Assistant at that time. I later ran Migration Assistant to migrate PC files to the MacBook. A second account was created after the migration. All my PC content is in the second account. None in the original account. When I look at the Users & Groups in System Preferences, I see that both accounts are Admin accounts.
I do not want the original account that was created for me on the MacBook Pro before I trasnferred any of my PC files over.  I just want to keep the account that was created to house all my PC files when they were migrated over.  However I cannot migrate that original account - the " - " is just greyed out.
Please can someone advise how I delete it.  I do not want two admin user acconts - just the onen with all my PC files in.
I realise I should have done the PC transfer at start up using "set up assistant" but for whatever reasons I chose to delay it by a day or so and hence used Windows Migration Assistant.
Please tell me how I can delete the surplus user account created for me originally when I used the Mac for the first time.
Thanks in advance for all feedback and advice.  This is my first Mac after 20 years of Windows, so big step for me and still learning!  So easy to understand instructions please would be bonus
    thanks all

Unfortunately I see that no one has been able to help me with this . . . so instead of addressing the question above. can someone please tell me how to reset my Mac to "factory settings", ie how it was the day I bought it and before I switched it on for the first time.  Delete everything on there now. That way I will do set up properly and transfer data from my PC first of all instead of revisiting it.
Please can someone tell me how to do this
    Many thanks

  • One iMac - Multiple user accounts - Can iTunes music be moved b/t accts?

My family (wife, son, daughter, and me) share an imac but we all have our own user accounts. Our entire itunes music library is in one user account and is getting to the point of being unmanageable.
Can I move some of my itunes library (e.g., my son's music) to another user account on the same iMac?
It's my understanding that an ipod can only be synced with one itunes library at a time, but I thought Apple also restricted the usage of music bought from itunes to a finite number of computers. If this is true, I think I would be able to transfer a group of songs from one user account to another so long as the user accounts were on the same computer.
I think if I place the songs i want to transfer to my son's user account on an ipod, log into my son's account, plug the ipod in, start up itunes, then I should be able to transfer the purchases from one user account to the other.
    Will this work?

    Thanks, this will work.
One somewhat related follow-up question. After I have dragged the .M4P files into the shared directory, and logged into the other user account, they appear as "protected". After clicking the "more info" button, i can change the access to "read and write" for each m4p file, and then I can drag it into itunes.
How can I make this change (read and write) global so I will not have to unlock and enable each m4p file?

  • Multiple POP accounts: Can I set up separate mail windows

New mac user. I was able to switch identities using Outlook Express on my PC so that multiple users' mail were not downloaded when one user logged on. My desire is to not see other people's email, nor they mine. Is there a way to accomplish this?
    lmac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Instead of switching identities in Mail, you do it at the OS X level i.e. create multiple accounts on your computer and use Fast User Switching. Each user of your computer then has their own separate environment for all applications including Mail.
    I hope that helps.

  • Multiple itunes accounts - can they be synched?

I have a personal itunes account and a work itunes account.
I would like to synch the two - is this possible?

Thanks Chris. How can I have items from botha ccounts in the same iTunes library?
Just copy the files from the other computer.
If they are iTunes purchases, you can log into the iTunes store with that account, select Purchased on the right side and redownload.

    Hi Fred,
The procedure to remove the disk image from the blob repository is:
1.Go to the Windows Azure Management Portal.
    2.Click on Virtual Machines.
    3.Click on Disks.
    4.Click on the disk.
    5.Click on Delete Disk.
After that, the storage account can be deleted.
Disks are detached from a deleted VM asynchronously, it may take a few minutes after the VM is deleted for this field to clear up.
Pleas follow the below the link to delete the storage account.

  • Can't delete old iCloud account from new phone

Have trouble deleting old iCloud account from my new phone keep getting a message saying can not delete cause in use

iCloud accounts can be deleted in Mail, Contacts and Calenders in System Preferences from the Apple sign menu on your Host or Main mac.
I had heaps of trouble with this - i fixed it by going back to my host imac and clicked on apple sign - system preferences - then under the Internet and Wireless heading clicked on Mail, Contacts & Calenders.  from there you can select iCloud amongst your other stuff in the left window - delete the old one by hitting the (minus) - sign down the bottom after selecting iCloud.  Keep your calenders and contacts on your mac when asked.
Once you've deleted the old one and its gone from the window reselect iCloud from the right window of options.  Use your new apple ID (current e-mail) to set this one up.
Once you sync all your devices it should all be good.
Took me ages to work this out but minutes to fix once I had.
    hope this helps

  • How can i read multiple email accounts?

    hi,
my program is to get emails from multiple email accounts, and grab the attachments, but it doesn't work properly.
If there's only one email account, it works fine, but if there are more, it looks like that the program always goes into the first mail account to read the messages. i suspect that the 'Server' or the 'Session' are not reset before each connection, i printed out the connected 'Folder', it looks fine, but every time the 'Folder.getMessageCount()' returns the same number of messages as the first email account has.
    Here's my code:
// this is to get the folder, mostly 'inbox'
    // serverString is like: "protocol://username@host/foldername"
// all parameters are retrieved from the Database

Assuming you're passing in the right URL, I don't see the problem.
Still, try change session.getDefaultInstance to session.getInstance

protocol trace for clues. If you still can't figure it out, post the protocol
    trace.
