Multiple CF server diferent machine, same CFIDE directory

I have two CF servers on different machines, sharing same www root directory via NAS, therefore same CFIDE directory, both are in Linux RHAS4 with Apache 2.x. I was working with CFMX7, and everything was right, using the same CFIDE directory, but, when I upgrade my CF from MX7 to 8, with the same architecture, I'm experiencing problems using the administration web application, of the first (upgraded server) WEB server, while the second server (the second that I upgrade) is working correctly (the administrator application).
I try to change the name of the CFIDE directory, from the second server and stop responding, when I move back to the original name, it start to works again.
Is there a new host verification in the administrator application? How can I re-deploy the CFIDE directory from the first server in order to put back in order the access to the admin application?

What I've done in the past (though not quite the same thing as you're doing) when I've needed to have two versions of CFIDE on a single system, I'll rename the existing CFIDE directory to say, CFIDE7 and then copy in a new copy of CFIDE from v8.
Then, I'll update the virtual directories in the httpd to match the new paths. Then, you may want to scan the XML files and find where the CF mapping is for CFIDE and adjust that accordingly.

Multiple Forms Server on same machine

Currently I'm running a development forms server instance on a Sun SPARC server. The client would like to have a QA environment set up on the same server.
Must I install Forms Server to another, separate home directory?
Has anyone else tried this? The development and QA user population is small; < 25 in total.

Installing oracle 11.1.0.6.0 in the same parent directory on Linux server(OEL 5),

Hi All, This was regarding installing Oracle 11gR1 on the same linux server machine, where oracle 10.2.0.1.0 resides, i tried to install 11g on the same parent directory /u01 where 10g directory present, i.e,
for 10g - /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/
and
for 11g - /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/
my doubt is whether /u01/app/oracle/oraInventory/ will be disturbed ? at the stage of executing configuration scripts, oracle prompted only for root.sh script and didn't ask for oraInstroot.sh?
will the 10g features gets affected ?,
I found 10g database opening successfully after running it's bash_profile, and also when 11g database needed, it also opened successfully (in another session) after its seperate bash_profile being executed in another session,

You may be confused between ORACLE_BASE, actually the common directory of both ORACLE_HOMEs (one for 10g, one for 11g).
/u01/app/oracle is your ORACLE_BASE where sit the oraInventory and some other common folders.
/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1 and /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1 are your two ORACLE_HOME to hosts dedicated binaries for each version.
Set the ORACLE_HOME/PATH env. variables in the OS session level according to the version you want to work on in that said session.

I need some advice on Creating Multiple instances of OBIEE11g in same server.
the following are the details
i have got windows server R2, installed weblogic 10.3.6 with 64bit JDK, then oBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 software only install and configuration
till here everything is up and running without any issue.
now i want to set up second instance , need some clarifications on points mentioned below:-
1. same home directory can be used (c:\Middleware in my case) for second instance.
2. to start second time software only install shall i mention same c:\Middleware\Oracle_BI1 or shall i mention c:\Middleware\Oracle_B2
3. do i need to mention Bifoundation_domain and weblogic (userid, portno) separately

Ensure that you install each instance into a separate Middleware home on that computer.

No need,1st install WebLogic Server first and then perform a Software Only Install then try to do the Configuration Assistant multiple times (or once for each instance) to configure each instance in the same, or shared, Middleware home.

I want to run multiple instance of tomcat on same server. I have created CATALINA_BASE directory and i put conf,logs,temp,webapps, and work directory. I have configured server.xml in different port. I have set the environment variables too. Though it didn't workout for me. Is there anything else i have to do for that. if so, Please assist me.
I did all according to the tomcat 4.1running.txt

Were you ever able to solve this problem. I'm having similar issues since upgrading to snow leopard. Four macs connect to a Windows Server 2003 for shared files. Each user has full permissions & when we "get info" it shows read & write permissions. Two of the computers were running 10.4, two were running 10.5. Everything worked properly until upgrading to snow leopard. Some files let me copy, move, delete. Others either just hang up or we get a "no permission" error. Also getting a "pdf is in use" error, even when the file/folder doesn't contain a pdf. We had our IT rep check the server who said everything is in working order. They don't represent macs any longer but feel that it's a mac problem. I would have to agree since this problem only started after the upgrade, and the one machine that was not upgraded (still running 10.5.8) is not dealing with these problems.
Lastly, I would install 10.5 back on all of the computers if I could, but the leopard disk that came with one of the computers wouldn't work with the 2 machines running 10.4 and I didn't see it available at the apple store. I'll buy it if it's still available, but why wouldn't the disks that I have work?

Can I do multiple installs on one server at the same time ?

Hi. we have a project where the basis group is under very tight deadlines. We are tasked with installing multiple SAP systems on the same server. Is it possible to install more than one SAP systems ( ie ERP, BI, EP, CRM ) on the same physical server at the same time. for example on analyst install ERP while at the same time another analyst do EP and so on.... Has anyone done that before and if so are there any issures. ( I put in a SAP note and got the response that this is not supported, but I just wanted to see if anyone had done it anyways )

Frankly simultaneous installations is not a great idea. There will be an enormous competition for resources. Then you also need to make available ports for carrying out the installations. Next it will involve high amount of coordination
What of course is more reasonable is the idea of hosting more than one SAP instance on the same physical server though again harware is a very important concern. It includes your hard disk space,memory,CPU and other generic hardware.

Its really great that you want to move and upgrade old Exchange to new Exchange server. The manual steps and guide is already recommended to you.
Moreover, I would like to recommend you to use an automated tool to upgrade your Exchange server 2007 to exchange 2013. I have tried and test tool to do Exchange Migration 2007 to 2013. You can follow the link

Multiple wiki's on the same server

Is it possible to have multiple wiki's on the same server. I do not mean having 2 wiki pages. however more like having 2 websites from the same server and each having their own wiki sites.
From just a quick play with the possibility both sites still reference from the same place so both sites would see the same wiki pages.
I was thinking of trying to use realms however the wiki info is not kept in the folder that is managed by realms

This can be done, but it really depends on the load balancer you use.
There is no recommendation from BusinessObjects and you might want to consult the load balancer vendor for instructions and support.

DC and Mail Server VMs On Same Machine???

I don't see any issues. We have a few clients we setup this way and so far so good. I believe this is pretty much what VMware intended. Larger businesses can afford redundant servers and enterprise licensing, but us smaller businesses must work with what we can afford!
Just make sure you have a backup appliance like a Daito in case something happens to the server. You'll be able to run off the Daito device until your server is repaired/replaced.

I need to buy a cheapo machine to serve as a second domain controller. I also need to buy a new mail server.
Is there any reason not to just create two VMs on a new Server 2012 machine and serve both these purposes? One VM for the DC and one VM for the mail server? Is there any danger of having a public facing VM on the same machine as a DC VM?
I know they are on the same machine, but aren't they really totally separate entities?

Connect Multiple Ingrian server in same JVM

I have faced an issue where I have to connect multiple Ingrain server depending on some choice in same JVM.However I can able to set one server for jvm by placing the IngrianNAE.jar and IngrianNAE.properties in jre/lib/ext and every things running well, but if I tried to modify the Ingrain properties file during runtime through System.setProperties(), it always pick the old value instead the new one. So my question is that whether it is possible to configure for same JVM or not.

What is the trick to accessing multiple mail accounts comming from the same incoming mail server with the same user ID and password?
I have a website that I run all of my mail through and I have never been able to check more than one configured mail account using "MAIL".

Hi Sparky,
You can configure mutliple accounts easily enough. Preferences > Accounts, then the Account Information tab. You are providing email address, incoming server, username and password for each.
First account: [email protected]; mail.host.com; sparky; sparkypassword
Second account: [email protected]; mail.host.com; sparky; sparkypassword
Check, as noted above, that all accounts are set to enabled and to autocheck: Both settings are under the Advanced tab. Then exit and save. Now your inbox will show a disclosure triangle. Click it and you'll see both accounts.
Does that explain enough? Are you haveing a problem doing this or just weren't sure how?

May i can't have Forms+Reports server on the same machine ?

I have installed Forms+Reports server on the same machine with their builders too. But then Forms & Reports server does not function when i call my .fmx file in browser the message,
"Java applet loading" appears but then the process hang up.
But when only installed Form server my .fmx file works.I also want to call my .rep files from forms.
May i can not have Forms+Reports server on the same machine?
Separately they work but not both but i require both how!
I have also seen when both installed and when i start services of both then ifweb60.exe is called two times in memory, it shows from task manager's process tab.

1. Check these files to make sure you have the correct port settings for your forms: formsweb.cfg, base.htm
2. In your Windows Registry:
a. Add path for Reports Server (REPORTSxx_PATH)
b. Make sure you also have FORMSxx_PATH defined
c. Check values of your OracleFormsServer.

Verify the values of Host, Mode, Pool and Port.
3. Check Metalink Note 97487.1 for additional info.
And YES, Apache, Forms, Reports and Graphics can all run in the same machine.
