Multiple Clicks to save a file

Hi!
I have to click multiple times on the save button whenever i need to save a file from internet on my new ToushSmart 600 PC. The mouse is working fine with all other clicks but when i click on the save button on any file that i need to download from internet or from my e-mail, the file download window gets unselected and then i have to click it multiple times to save the file.
Is anybody else having the same problem?
Thanks.

Hi OB,
Thanks for the reply. I had recently installed drop box so removed this hoping it might be the culprit, unfortunately not though, the problem remains.
I've also tried the 'usual suspects' without any luck either.
It really is an odd problem and not one I've encountered before. I also have an occasional issue whereby I'm unable to 'save for web' (only in Illustrator) - the option isn't selectable and even the keyboard short-cut doesn't work. It's glitch galore some days!

  • Help please! Strange glitch having to click mouse multiple times to save a file

    Hi,
I'm having a strange issue with Adobe Illustrator CS5 when I try to save as pdf. Basically I have to click save multiple times, sometimes over 100 times before it will ultimately save. Has anyone else encountered this weird problem and if so did you manage to find a resolution? I'm working on PC with Windows Vista.
Many thanks in advance for any help - it's driving me crazy!

  • I just downloaded the 6.02 version and clicked on "save the file" in the box that popped up. Was this correct?

Usually there's a "run" option for a new file. I didn't see one and wonder if the new version will now run on my computer, or if I've just saved it to my save files. I'm a real novice at this.

It is in your save files. Double click it to install it.
    thank you

  • Accidentally clicked "Always save as pdf" for an ashx and can't get downloads to save as anything but that, regardless of whatever file fomat I choose from the menu/browse and request. HELP!

When I go to download and save a file with an .ashx extension, after downloading a pdf format file I accidentally clicked the "save all files of this type in this format." So now every .ashx download gets saved as a pdf, even though I have unclicked the "save all files of this type"...etc box, and actively choose a Word or PowerPoint or other format: they all get saved as pdfs and I can't open them! I tried going into the options menu and selecting "ask every time" for format of .ashx files but it has not helped. I have cleaning my cache and restrated my computer several times and it still refuses to download .ashx files as anything but pdf's. HELP!!!

    thank you, Charlie!!!!!!
i'm so mac ignorant and have been learning a lot through my mistakes today! your solution also helped me get the fan option back on as well!
    Thanks again!!!

  • Save pdf files

I have reverted to Snow Leopard because of problems with saving pdf files downloaded with Safari.
I have received quite a bit of advice that sometimes works with downloads from different sites. The acrobat symbol in the bottom of the window of a downloaded pdf file doesn't do anything. Left clicking and "Save download file as.." sometimes works but frequently it doesn't. I may get something like file:///Users/rogerd/Desktop/1851.full.pdf+html.html, which can't be opened with Acrobat Pro XI. And I can't print as a pdf file from Safari. Someone seems to have went to quite a bit of trouble to make it unworkable.
Generally I find Mavericks 10.9.3 a step back. A flashdrive will appear on the desk top, but the only way to eject it, unlike hard drives, is to drag it to the trash. To eject an external hard drive, I have to use the Go menu in the finder to get to the computer. And the File>open in textedit or Word can't see a flashdrive on the desktop. I have to open the flash drive and find the document I want and double click it. Then if it is a text file that I want to open in Word, it opens in textedit instead. I then have to save it to the desktop and find it with Word to open it in Word.

Open Finder preferences, Sidebar tab, and set it to display those in Sidebar. The entry in the sidebar will have an eject button. There is also a setting to display hard drives on the desktop. If you select a drive, cmd-e will eject.

  • Open and Save downloaded files at the same time (in one click)

OVERALL GOAL: To click on PDF links online, save the files to my Downloads folder, AND open them in Acrobat Pro, all in one click.
Does anyone have a suggestion for how I would tell Firefox to both Save and Open my downloads? I'm using OS X, if it helps/matters.

That happens automatically with both my Macs. I have one using 10.4 and another using 10.6. I use PDFView rather than Adobe, but I doubt that makes much difference. You are using Adobe as a helper application, not a plugin, right?

  • After clicking "Save" in "Save as" file dialog, the dialog disappears but no download is started. Is this a Windows 7 64 bit issue? It works fine in Windows XP.

I am trying to download the iTunes installer for Windows 7 64 bit.
I have "Always ask me where to save files" checked in Firefox's download options.
    Steps to reproduce the problem:
    1) In the iTunes download page I click the "Download now" link and Firefox shows me a "Opening iTunes64Setup.exe" dialog with a "Save File" button.
    2) I click the "Save File" button. Sometimes the dialog disappears but nothing else happens. Other times I get the Windows 7 "Save as" dialog.
    3) I click the "Save" button in the save file dialog (I'm using the default user documents folder). The dialog disappears and nothing happens.
If I uncheck "Always ask me where to save files" then the download works fine.
I also have a Windows XP 32 bit with the same configuration where everything works fine which makes me think that this problem only happens in Windows 7 or in the 64 bit version.

It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or is otherwise interfering with downloading files.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

  • How do I prevent Firefox from locking up when I click on "Save As" under the "File" menu (resetting Firefox didn't solve the problem)?

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium OS on Dell XPS 420 system. Firefox locks up each time I click on "Save As" under the "File" menu. Resetting Firefox did NOT solve the problem. If, instead of using Firefox, I log on to a website using Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer, the "Save As" feature works fine, as it should. I would occasionally like to save a web page, using "Save As" while using Firefox, instead of copying the page to a Word Document, and then saving it.

    Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

  • How do I re-enable open or save setting when I click on the download file?

My initial Firefox download setting was this: When I click on the link I would like to download, it asks me whether I want to '''open the file or save''' the file. Underneath, there was a check box to click on, in case you do not want the dialogue box to come up again. I clicked on the check box once, because I had to do a repeated download of a number of pictures. I would like to get back on 'asking open or save' dialogue box. I cannot find how to re-enable this function. Please help!

By the way, a few other things you probably know:
    (1) The setting to keep the downloads list displayed after a download is here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > General
Check "Show the Downloads window..." and ''uncheck'' "Close it..."
    (2) You can always show the list by pressing Ctrl+j
The mimeTypes.rdf file isn't particularly relevant to this problem; it affects what application Firefox uses to open a particular type of file.
However, there is a database file which stores your download history which might be corrupted. You could rename that file and have Firefox start building a new one.
    (1) Open your personal settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder
Help (or Alt+h) > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
    (2) Switch back to Firefox and exit the program (e.g., File > Exit)
    (3) Wait a few moments for Firefox to finish updating files in your settings folder, then rename '''downloads.sqlite''' to something else, like downloads.old. Alternately, you can delete the file.
    (4) You're done with your profile folder and you can restart Firefox now.
    Any improvement?

  • TS1538 My PC will not download iTunes 10.7.  Nothing happens after clicking on Save File.

My PC will not download iTunes 10.7. Nothing happens after clicking on Save File.  Do I have to uninstall 10.6.1.7 first?

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • Why my Firefox v6.02 browser always open *.csv (comma delimited) file in another tab rather than downloading a file? I do not have right click option to save this file.

My Firefox v6.02 browser always open *.csv (comma delimited) file in another tab rather than downloading a file? I do not have right click option to save this file. My OP is windows XP sp2.

    Hi mha007,
    Go to this site "http://www.nseindia.com/content/indices/ind_histvalues.htm"
Select any Index type and from dates select just one day or any number of days. Click "Get Details" button. This will open tabular data on loaded page (with link CSV file link at bottom).
When I click this link, it opens CSV file in new tab (in Firefox browser) and does not open download window (just as in case of other file formats like *.zip, *.rar or *.xls).
Right-click of link does not give "save as" or "save file" option.
Firefox is my preferred and default browser.
    ========
surprisingly, When I do same thing in IE6 browser, data-table page shows 2 options below table, i.e. (1) download file (2) open file.

  • Yahoo mail won't download .bmp files when you right click, it saves as html.

I use yahoo mail and a lot of my groups send pictures imbedded. I can right click and save image with .jpg files, but .bmp files save web pages instead of bitmap. I can use Internet Explorer and save image (as .bmp files) when I right click.
I'm using Windows XP if that makes a difference.

go mail.yahoo.com as the login entrance for yahoo mail.

  • Adobe reader opens "save as" box when clicking on save button rather than saving in the same file

    Hi everybody,
I have a fillable PDF form designed in Livecycle designer and it is reader extended. When I fill that form on MAC it let me fill and save the form as many times as I like. Everytime I make any change I just click the save button it saves changes in the same form. BUT is is behaving differently on Windows. After filling the form out when I click on save button it opens up "Save as " dialogue box to save a new copy with those changes. I have Adobe reader XI and Adobe Acrobat XI installed on windows. I know I can do that with Acrobat but I want that in reader for users who dont have acrobat.
    Please help me.....
    Thanks

What are you filling out the form with on the MAC?

  • When I click a link to a pdf file, I'm only presented with a save box,not a choice to just view the file. I have been able to view linked files in the past, but not anymore. I have to save the file to downloads then go to downloads and open it.

when selecting a link to a pdf file , I'm only given the choice to save it ..not view it ? How do I change that ..?

That depends on how the server sends the file.
If this is a MIME (content) type that is supported by other software then you can open the file automatically.
If the file is send with a generic content type like application/octet-stream or as Content-Disposition:attachment then you can only save the file.
