Multiple clients configuration for STMS

Hi Forum,
I would like to setup a Transport mechanism system, with client specific configuration.
For example:
From Development system all customizing request should go automatically to two clients in Quality system.
Dev ---> QAS100 and QAS200.
Could you please tell me how to setup this. Step by step procedure.

Issue with client configuration for CuciLync 9.2.5

Hi,
we are currently preparing the client configuration for CuciLync 9.2.5.
When CuciLync starts we don't want to see the CuciLync window in the foreground.
Therefore we use the 'hubvisible' setting.
%APPDATA% \Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\Config\jabberLocalConfig.xml
<userConfig name="hubvisible" value="FALSE"/>
In addition we use this setting in the file
ProgramFiles%\Cisco Systems\CUCILync\jabber-config-defaults.xml
At first it looks like that the setting works fine.
But CuciLync always resets 'hubvisible' to 'true'.
Any idea what needs to be done to ensure that the setting is not overwritten ?

System Landscape using multiple clients scenario for BW

Hi Friends,
I have a scenario where I want to use multiple BW clients based on single server.
I have made client copy of the development server and want to transport the objects
to the target clients.
I am aware that such a scenario works fine in R/3 and infact i have used it
.But in BW when i hit RSA1 I get an error message "you can only use client(010)"-my development client of which copy was made.
The client copy system is 102.
Now I read a thread on sdn which said change client entry in RSADMINA table .I changed it ,but I think its cross client table and hence RSA1 is neither workinging in client copy or the parent system.I reverted back entry in client 102 and saw that development client working again fine like before.(also RSADMINA) value changed in 010.
I have tried to fix it by creating appropriate mappings using SCC4/BD54/SALE/WE20/RZ10
.Also created mapping WE20 for Partner profile and assigned the logica system.
Is it possible to have such a system landscape?
Can anyone give some useful suggestions?

I think this thing boils down to table RSADMINA where you maintain entry for your client.
The primary key there is 'Customizing ID' and when you specify there "BW" .You can't make another entry for another MANDT with another customizing id.
Whenever u login to any other client and you change entry of MANDT it is going to be reflected to all the clients and thats what is the issue.So you can't mantain mulitple entries as you can't enter two customizing ids. there.
Infact there are many reasons in the background as well which the sap note mentions like common number ranges..etc.
Lastly ..Ofcourse as Siggi said you can have another R/3 or CRM system etc on the same server but no two BW clients.I think SAP should not allow client copy for BW on the same server..it will help some bad efforts

Depending on your needs, you may find that Set level offers the best approach:
Within a Set you have the Playbacks (Set Level, so they work for the entire set) with individual patches in the set "live" for the EWI etc as needed.
You need only map one set of controls for all the Playbacks since only 1 set can run at a time.

Client configuration for Radius.

Here is what I am trying to do:
I have an HP Procurve switch (2650) with Port Based Access configured.
(802.1x) This switch is configured to forward request to our Novell
radius server.
My question is how do I configure the Novell desktop client. It appears
to need a Dial-up, rather than a Network connection.?

Multiple database configuration for scan ip.

Hi All,
I am planning to implement 11gR2.
Grid infrastructure is already done. Now i need to create 4 database in the same oracle home.
There is a separate listener for each database with different port.
As i scan ip is configured using 1521 port.
My question is will my scan vip will work to connect to the database remotely if will give tnsstring with scan ip.
For e.g
for database 1, we are using port 1522
MYDB
(DESCRIPTION=
(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=t24db-scan)(PORT=1522))

Jatin,
If there is a request to bring down a database, you will just shutdown that database. You should not shutdown the listeners, as they serve other databases.
Now that all listeners are running out of GRID Home (not database home), this is totally managed by CRS. We dont have to worry about managing them.. lets just manage the database. Same applies to patching also.. you need to bring down all services in the database home to apply the rdbms patches.. at this time, listeners can still be up (as they are not running out of database home).

Multiple Clients in BW 3.5 Development Systems?

In a Development BW 3.5 environment, can we have multiple clients? For instance, can we have a unit test client(with master and transactional data), a security client, and a golden configuration client.
We have heard that there may be issues with having more than one client, but we are not sure if this is correct. Our BW unit test client would be the only one of the three that is connected to a R/3 (4.7) Development client. The security and golden config client would not be connected to external systems. Is this landscape possible and supported by SAP?

You cannot have more than two clients. A client is a technique used for isolating data records and configuration data which is technically stored in the same database tables into mutually exclusive sets of data. Clients may exists as separate for project or organizational reasons. Most configuration data is generally client independent in SAP operational systems while transactional and master data are usually client specific.
SAP BW Application does not make extensive use of the client concept. Infact with SAP BW all specific application functions can take place in one client. SAP BW does utilize basis clients technically but that is only for systems administration purposes.

Multiple Clients in SCM-APO?

In a Development SCM-APO 5.0 environment, can we have multiple clients? For instance, can we have a unit test client(with master and transactional data), a security client, and a golden configuration client.
We have heard that there may be issues with having more than one client, but we are not sure if this is correct. Our SCM-APO unit test client would be the only one that is connected to a BW (3.5) Development client and a R/3 (4.7) Development client. The security and golden config client would not be connected to external systems. Is this landscape possible and supported by SAP?

I do not have a good answer but it seems APO-DP uses BW as Data Mart which results in some restriction in using multiple client. See SAP Note 522569 for details. Moreover in the Multi-client Whitepaper (attached to SAP Note 31557) the table in page 23 mentions Multi-client Status for APO with DP : Not OK and APO w/o DP : Restricted OK.

Multiple clients and multiple databases on one system

Does SAP support having a single system ( Let's call it PEQ for the sake of argument ) having multiple clients ( again, for the sake of argument, call them 200, 250, 260, and 300) allow for each client to have it's own physical database ?
For example, here is what I would like to have set up:
PEQ 200 - database 1
PEQ 250 - database 2
PEQ 260 - database 3
PEQ 300 - database 1
So PEQ 200 and 300 access database 1, PEQ 250 accesses database 2, and PEQ 260 accesses database 3.
I only want to know if this is possible and if so how would you set it up. I do not want to get into any discussion on whether this is the best way to go or not. Any pointers to OSS notes on the subject are more than welcome.

Simple answer: No.
Long answer:
- Workprocesses don't know anything about "clients". A client is nothing more than an additional field in a table with the client number. So it's not possible to configure them to connect to a certain database using a "client number".
- A client alone has nothing but application data. It has no dictionary (tables, views) and it has no repository (source code) that can be executed
- A SAP system (ABAP) has cross client customizing that would need to be shared somehow, technically not possible since also here the workprocess (which is the lowest unit) does not know whether a table is client dependent or not.
Maybe there is a way to come out of this dilemma - if you tell us, what you (business) requirement is.

How to install IPSec Client Certificate for Apple products (iPad,iPhoe and Mac)

We need Ipsec vpn client authentication with certificate (instead of pre-shared key). We tested the same with Windows client and its works fine. However when we used the same certificates with Apple products (iPad, iPhoe and Mac) it doesnt work.
We have two types of certificates installed on the client from the CA server.
One is the root certificate with the extenstion .cer
and the other one is client certificate with the extension of .pfx (personal informaiton exchange)
We can not find a proper document to install certificates and client configuration for iPad,iPhoe and Mac. We need to know what type of certificates needed, what are the certificate formats and how to install etc.
Appreciate if someone has implemented this and share any documents.

Problems with exporting PWA views (grids in general) to Excel 2010 with Windows 8 + IE 10 as a client configuration

I wondering if windows 8 + IE10 is a supported client configuration for PWA (Project Server 2010). I am unable to export PWA views to Excel 2010. No problems with Windows 7 + IE8/9

Hi,
We followed the below steps in the local machine and check the behavior.
a. Open the Windows registry editor (regedit.exe)
b. Go the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\excel.exe
c. Here, you’ll see a string value named “useURL”
d. Rename this value to something else. For example “useURLx”
Note: You might have to restart the machine to apply the registry change to take effect.

Can I create a file called my-pof-config.xml with the following line...

Not sure about C# but I would suggest try removing file:// from
<include>file://pof-config.xml</include>and keep pof-config.xml and my-pof-config.xml in the same directory.

XI, SLD & multiple clients for DEV & QA

I have a question regarding the avoidance of duplicated Configuration (Collaboration Profiles, Logical Routing & Collaboration Agreements) for different clients in the DEV/QA landscape.
As we know: many projects have multiple clients in DEV and QA. Here is an example landscape:
SXD_100 - Dev XI server
SED_100 - config dev
SED_200 - ABAP dev
SED_300 - unit test
SED_400 - sandbox
[ 1 technical system : 3 business systems ! ]
LDEV Legacy system
[ 1 technical system : 1 business system ]
SXQ_100 - QA XI server
SEQ_100 - clean config QA
SEQ_200 - ABAP QA
SEQ_300 - data migration prep
SEQ_nnn - yada, yada...
[ 1 technical system : nnn business systems ! ]
LQA Legacy system
[ 1 technical system : 1 business system ]
The problem:
SED_400->LDEV is used for prototyping integration
SED_100->LDEV is used for config development
SED_200->LDEV is used for ABAP development
SED_300->LDEV is used for unit tests
Receiver Determination is able to look into the message for a dynamic receiver, but we are not able to have a sender like "SED*"
The question:
Do we really need multiple sets of configuration in the Integration Directory? Is there a way to re-use the configuration for SED_100->LDEV for the other development efforts?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Since there can only one business system in SLD per client in SAP R/3.
e.g
SED_100 will have lets say BS_100_Dev
SED_200 and BS_200_Dev
In QA
SEQ_100 -> BS_100_QA
SEQ_200 -> BS_200_QA
It is not possible to configure the single scenario catering the Dynamic (multiple) sender agreement to Reciever.
But for QA you can use set transport target in SLD to reflect the BS_100_Dev -> BS_100_QA, where ever used.
This doesnot solve the problem of having dynamic sender service, it is just for information.
We also faced the same problem of testing a scenario from different clients of SAP :(.

Multiple-client, same server, different configurations

Hi experts,
Recently we have got a project of IS-U Electricity where it has been planned that the same server we used for the last project will be used for this upcoming project where the configurations are diffrent from each other but both of them will run together in same development, quality and production servers.
My question is whether we would be able to configure sap as per the requirements for the upcoming project to a particular client whereas the rest of the clients will use old configurations for the existing project in the same server. Will there be any cross-client configuration conflicts?

The answer to this question is unrelated the industry solution. Multiple client scenarios are used in many solutions. Some configuration is client dependent and so would be different in each client; other configuration is client independent and would be used in all clients. That would be part of the analysis to determine if multiple clients or multiple systems is the correct approach.

Multiple clients in Developement system for Charm

Hi Solman experts,
We are planning for the Charm implementation and we have multiple clients in Developement system.
Major hurdle is how to keep all the development clients in sync.
we have following clients
100 Golden client
300 configuration client
400 ABAP Developement client
500 Unit test
600 HR1
700 HR 2 clients
All configurations will be made in Client 300 and transported to QA and all developements will be made in client 400
Transports released from 300 and 400 should go all other clients.
Solman experts could anyone advice whether this is can be done using charm.
