Multiple clients in DEV and QA for CHARM setup

Blog /people/dolores.correa/blog/2008/07/26/first-steps-to-work-with-change-request-management-scenario is an excellence introduction to CHARM setup.
However in real world, we have multiple clients on DEV and QAS systems.
Could you help explain how to extend the method in above blog to multiple DEV and QAS clients?
Thanks !

Hi Diana,
Please have a look at this thread :

  • Multiple connections to dev and prod

    Hi All,
I trying to connect multiple environments (Dev and Prod) from shared connections in Smartview.
When I right click on the existing planning I couldn't see anything (there were suggestions from other posts that by right clicking you will get an option to add new server).
Also I have differetn URL's for dev and Prod.

I think from 11.1.2.2 onwards the ability to add servers in Shared Connection is removed and an enhancement is filed to have that ability.
You can use private connection to connect to different instances
    http://DEV:19000/aps/APS for Essbase
    http://DEV:19000/HyperionPlanning/SmartView HyperionPlanning
If you are on 11.1.2.3 you can create an XML file and use that as your Shared Connection

  • Looking for libxtst-dev and libxtst6 for Solaris 10 x86

I am trying to compile Synergy (http://synergy2.sourceforge.net) on a Solaris 10 x86 1/06 system and need the libxtst-dev and libxtst6 libraries. I believe these are part of XFree86. I searched Google and found these on GnuSolaris.org as Debian-based packages (http://www.gnusolaris.org/archive/elatte-testing/x11/libxtst-dev). First off I do not know how to install these Debian-based packages but more importantly question their compatibility with my OS. So are the libraries I need available for Solaris 10 and if so how can I get them? Thanks.

Ok, I tried the newer version of the beta audiohd backport and it almost works on the Optiplex 960. The only problem is the that "internal speaker" and "headphone" button functions on the audio control GUI are reversed, functionally. Tacky but acceptable. This is version audiohd-2008-10-15. On the Optiplex 755, this rev still will not shut off the internal speaker no matter what you do.
I can work with the audiohd beta, until Sun comes out with a new rev of the audiohd patch. The video controller issue is still a problem. No screen blanking. No 1900x1200 resolution. Not acceptable. :-)

  • SPDD and SPAU Request from Multiple Source System (Dev and Quality) ??

    Hi all,
We have one query related with SPDD and SPAU automatic adjustment during Upgrade.
We done SPDD in our Development systems and same is taken by SAPup during Quality Sytem PREPARE step from umauto.lst file.
But we adjusted some object in Quality System as the SPDD request from Develpopment does not able to adjust all the request. We created one request for the Same in Quality System and the that also got added to umauto.lst file.
Now during our during Mock run Upgrade, PREPARE ask to take only one system for SPDD request with following options
    1. missing systems
    2. Development (DEV)
    3. Quality         (QAS)
    4. None
But we need both transport of  SPDD from DEV and QAN to be imported to Mock run Systems till Production.
any suggestion to fix this ?

    Hi,
Give the DEV requests for SPDD, and proceed. During DDIC_700 you will come across the DD objects which need to be corrected as you have done in QAS. here you need to open the system and correct them manually. Then only you should proceed. Be very carefull during this activity, as you may loose data if not done correctly.

  • Mavericks Time Machine Server - multiple client backups disappear and merge

    Hi there,
In our environment, which is shop environment where many computers are worked on, we use a Mac Pro with roughly 5TB disk space running Mavericks server. Essentially, we rename the computers to be worked on (in the Sharing pane of System preferences), then use Time Machine to connect and backup using a Sharing Only account that exists on the server. The TM backups are verified using Migration Assistant by opening MA and making sure the option to restore is present, without the 'No Backup Volumes found' message, common with TM backups on the network. All OS's are backing up to our server, the oldest being 10.6 and the newest likely being 10.10 now.
Recently, we have noticed some backups seemingly disappear from the server. Just this morning, I looked at a VERY large sparesbundle and got curious.
Upon launching Migration Assistant and opening that very large sparsebundle, I was able to find all the backups that 'dissappeared'. This is very concerning, as all of these backups were verified using MA immediately after having been created.  Migration Assistant is quit, the system shut down, and the computer's work proceeds.
    A few bits of information:
-Computers sometimes come in to our shop (Apple Authorized) not being able to boot, so their storage volume is booted either via target mode or plugged in to another known good mac via a RocketStor Thunderbolt Dock, or simply directly in to another Mac
-if a computer boots it is backed up natively using it's own OS
-All of this takes place using AFP connections, and over an enterprise network, but devices are all plugged in to the same switch (at this point).
There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the disappearance of the backups, and they are very frustrating to attempt to locate when they 'go missing', especially since these backups are only looked for when a HDD is wiped and data is needed....
Any help is appreciated! As stated earlier, we are an Apple warranty authorized shop in a collegiate environment. Thanks all!
    Best,
    Chris

I suggest you turn it back on, at least on the ones you want to back up.
Is this necessary? It seems to do half the backup without it. If I remember correctly I have indexing turned off not only because I don't use it but also because it was hanging up/using a lot of CPU... If I absolutely must I will turn the indexing back on and wait for it to do its dirty business, but I'm a bit reticent in trading my problem for one that I don't really have an interest in solving.

  • Is AirPort Extreme Base Station the right device and reliable for my setup?

    hey guys,
    i got a 2012 13" macbook air, iphone5 and an 2012 appletv
ive also got two external usb3 2tb powered hdd's that i would to setup towards and use on my network.
i have videos/movies/files/music that i would like to access from the network,
so ive been looking at the extreme device and i can share via sb in the back x1 external hdd.
from what ive googled i can share more devices such as my x2 external hdd's via a powered hub, is that correct?
so my main question is..how fast is the read/copy/write going to be via through a hub?
will it lag/skip if i watch videos on my macbook or straight to my appletv, which supposedly i can do access aswell, is that correct?
just say video file will be 1gb only.. and im going to be only not even 5meters from the extreme device(network).
what transfer rate will it copy/write from and to from one device(usb3 external hdd via powered hub via airport extreme) to my mac?
what is the usb port on the back? 2 or 3?
does anyone have a similar setup or use an airport extreme device for this setup?
    and my last question is...
how reliable are these extreme device?
from what i read, these devices only last like two yrs and people have had alot of problems issue with faults etc....

Speed of read/write: if you're going by wireless, you're going to be limited by the wireless speeds.  Based on my usage, it seems like wireless N at 5 GHz tops out around 5-6 MB/s (40-48 mbps) with this router.  That's fine for video streaming, but will feel slow for heavy file transfer activity.
The USB port on the back of the device is USB 2.0.  As a reminder, USB 2.0 is rated for theoretical speeds of 480 mbps, although in practice they're much lower; regardless, it's much faster than the wireless protocols are capable of.  Your bottleneck will be the wireless.
I only use a printer with my USB port, so I can't give you any real-world experience with sharing hard drives.  You can use a USB hub to expand the ports, but it will need to be a self-powered hub: the Airport Extreme won't power devices through the port.  It's also worth noting that trying to use a network-shared disk as a Time Machine drive is a bit flakey; I've read a number of reports where people got it working, but then had their backups become corrupt with time.  I haven't read any reports of people having issues with using drives for purposes besides Time Machine, though.
As for reliability, it's hard to say.  Nothing lasts forever; you'll find people whose devices failed very quickly, and some who are using generation 1 or 2 devices that are still working just fine.  I haven't heard any reports of an usually high failure rate with Airport Extremes.  Operation-wise, my Airport Extreme (5th gen) is the most stable router that I've used, and I went through four or five other routers before this one.  It's the only router that I have not needed to reboot, even after months of uptime and heavy traffic that usually choked up my other routers.  I'm very impressed with it.

  • XI, SLD & multiple clients for DEV & QA

<i>Ref: Re: 3rd party tech systems for multiple business systems...</i>
I have a question regarding the avoidance of duplicated Configuration (Collaboration Profiles, Logical Routing & Collaboration Agreements) for different clients in the DEV/QA landscape.
As we know: many projects have multiple clients in DEV and QA. Here is an example landscape:
    SXD_100 - Dev XI server
    SED_100 - config dev
    SED_200 - ABAP dev
    SED_300 - unit test
    SED_400 - sandbox
    <b>[ 1 technical system : 3 business systems ! ]</b>
    LDEV Legacy system
    <b>[ 1 technical system : 1 business system ]</b>
    SXQ_100 - QA XI server
    SEQ_100 - clean config QA
    SEQ_200 - ABAP QA
    SEQ_300 - data migration prep
    SEQ_nnn - yada, yada...
    <b>[ 1 technical system : nnn business systems ! ]</b>
    LQA Legacy system
    <b>[ 1 technical system : 1 business system ]</b>
    <b>The problem:</b>
SED_400->LDEV is used for prototyping integration
SED_100->LDEV is used for config development
SED_200->LDEV is used for ABAP development
SED_300->LDEV is used for unit tests
Receiver Determination is able to look into the message for a <b>dynamic receiver</b>, but we are not able to have a <b>sender</b> like "SED*"
    <b>The question:</b>
Do we really need multiple sets of configuration in the Integration Directory? Is there a way to re-use the configuration for SED_100->LDEV for the other development efforts?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
    Rgds,
    Derek

    Hi Derek,
Since there can only one business system in SLD per client in SAP R/3.
    e.g
SED_100   will have lets say BS_100_Dev
    SED_200  and BS_200_Dev
    In QA
    SEQ_100 -> BS_100_QA
    SEQ_200 -> BS_200_QA
It is not possible to configure the single scenario catering the Dynamic (multiple) sender agreement to Reciever.
But for QA you can use set transport target in SLD to reflect the BS_100_Dev -> BS_100_QA, where ever used.
This doesnot solve the problem of  having dynamic sender service, it is just for information.
We also faced the same problem of testing a scenario from different clients of SAP :(.
    Cheers,
    Satish

  • Does two seperate client required if the solman monitors DEV and QAS system

    Hi All,
    This is our client landscape:
1 Dev-SolMan->For all development and quality systems(ECC 6.0, BI and EP).
    1 PRD-SolMan->For all production systems(ECC 6.0, BI and EP).
Note: We have build only DEV-SolMan system as of now and we haven't done any configuration yet like either service desk or ChaRm.
    The question is:
Do we need to have two seperate clients in DEV-Solman, one for all development systems and one for all quality systems? or Can we have a single client in DEV-Solman to handle all development and quality systems? What is the  SAP recommented approach?
    Thanks
    Sanjai

    Hi,
you even don't need separate Solution Manager systems to monitor DEV / QA and Prod. You could use one SolMan client to monitor and administrate all systems / clients.
Maybe it would be a good idea to create different Solution Landscapes, but this depends on your need.
Separate clients are no good option, because CHARM can only activated in on client. Also if you plan to activate charm, you need a solution that contains all systems in your transport landscape (DEV, QAnad Prod).
    Kind Regards,
    Holger

  • Multiple clients in CRM Dev/QA system

    Hi All-
I've seen in various places that it is recommended to only have one client in a CRM system. I have worked at many sites that have several CRM clients in a system without issues.
Can any one point me to an SAP Note or document that recommends only one client per CRM system? I realize that there are possible issues with the CRM pricing and cross-client customizing downloads but these can usually be worked around. What other issues are a concern?
Any SAP document about this would be great.
    Thanks!
    Tim

    Tim,
Unless you are going to have multiple back ends or some business scenario that requires multiple clients in CRM Production, then don't do it in CRM Dev/QA.
The reason why don't do multiple clients in a CRM system that is connected to an ERP backend is the following:
CRM configuration is dependent on downloaded configuration from the ERP system.
A normal CRM system should only have one backend connection.
Now why would you want want to have a Dev and QA system that does not reflect how your production system works.  In fact in the case of CRM you are making more work and creating systems that do not accurately mirror production.
The whole gold client concept in CRM is honestly a bad idea when you have single ERP backend, because it just causes more work for people and it my opinion its a way of people trying to stay busy than add real value.
Now if you really want to keep busy maintaining middleware and keeping things in sync, go for multiple clients in Dev/QA.  The best part is when something in Prod breaks you won't have any environment that mirrors Prod correctly from a middleware perspective.   In my opinion if you are that concerned about configuration and master data mixing then you probably need a CRM sandbox instance to try things out.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • HDV mixed format editing and mastering for broadcast TV

    Hi
I have HDV blues with regards mixed format and multi time base.
Any help advice will be greatly appreciated.
I have never handled HDV in multiformat and multiple timebase to Mater and output for Broadcast television.
I am hoping to master to DVD directly on the configuration ( details provided below ) to deliver to NTSC and PAL market for DVD retail.
However I would need to take to a post house, one or more quicktime file to Output to Digital Betacam for television broadcast for both NTSC and PAL formats.
    with regards
problems I am facing are on two fronts:
    1) I am unsure of best quality and workflow to output master on Digital Betacam tape for broadcast TV in NTSC and PAL both formats.
    2) With sequence set at HDV 1080 50i, and export setting as current setting, upon render and export of self contained quicktime direct from FCP timeline I face few troubling symptoms;
    - that the quicktime exports 3mins to 35 minutes of qt clip but not the whole program of 90 minutes as one clip. System crashes and I have to reboot.
    - Another symptom is that by doing above my time line shows aduio as out of sync to video. here i see that Audio tracks A1,A2 as being torn apart at cut edit points and have gap of 1 frame at random ( but not on all edit points ).
A3, A4 and other music and sound fx tracks have slipped off sync by few frames , again at random and also other places the edit comes back in sync with audio.
    - Of course I am having to re- render this sequence timeline a zillion times even though the previously rendered files still exist in relevant folder.
    Program duration: 90 minutes
    current sequence : 1440 x 1080 at 50i
edit sequence time-line consists following source material directly ingested from tape via firewire in native HDV and DV:
    VIDEO
    -HDV footage of 1440 x 1080, 50i
    -HDV footage of 1440 x 1080, 60i
    -PAL footage standard and widescreen
    -NTSC footage standard and widescreen
    - still images
    AUDIO
    -AUDIO is 16 bits , 48Khz
    - Voice Over is 24 bit , 48 Khz

Hi guys, thanks for getting back to me. My client has now changed her mind and so I'm just mixing XDCAM and HDV 16:9 footage which is absolutely fine. Awesome. Thanks for your help!
I have one issue - some of the XDCAM footage she has given me is .MP4 video (actually each clip is a folder with 5 files in it (.MP4, .SMI, .PPN, .XML, .BIM). Do I have to convert the .MP4 into .MOV via Compressor to work with it (presumably this will compress it somewhat) or can I convert it simply and losslessly somehow (perhaps using sony XDCAM software?)
    Thanks again for any help!

  • SYSTEM LANDSCAPE -   DEV and PROD - refresh

    Hi All,
We have a situation like this.
    1. Our BW Q&A is a copy of PROD
    2. Our BW DEV is not either a copy of Q&A or PROD.
    3. We have issue with a particular process chain in PROD and we need to correct (and follow the lanscape..that is want to do the correction in DEV and the transport to QA and then to PROD)
    4. Since this particular process chain is not existing in the DEV environment, our Basis team is advising us to check the difference in DEV and PROD for as this process chain concern and then want to refresh it to DEV system so that we can carry out the change/modification.
We don't know really what exactly we need to find the differences between DEV and PROD for this PC and then to inform to Basis team...
Is it correct that since the particular process chain associated with various queries, data targets,update/transfer structures...etc will be over writen  /  copied / refreshed in DEV system from PROD?
    Please advise..Please help..

    Hi George, SAT, BWer,
    Thanks for your messages.
George : Answers to your question:
    1. Our Basis team want to copy all the configuration (related to the particular process chain only)and not Data's.
    2. How to pack the process chain in a portable file and extract this file. then import it into DEV..and what is the way not to get error when doing so (knowing that fact that obejects will be different..) I don't know..whether to copy the objects are or not..
3.I agree with you.. Even  we are ready to work with DEV to PROD..
    SAT: Answers to your questions:
    1. I do see some Process chains in the DEV and not related to this particular PC. Many development PC are there..and I don't know where the originally developed PC's ???!!
    2. I am new to this Client..sorry..how this has been deleted...
    BWer :Answers to your questions:
    1. Yes..PC is Latest in the PROD.
    2. We don't want to create the process chain all the way from scratch in the DEV. Yes..This is one of the process chain used in the metachain...Totally there are five chains in the PROD related to this..We need to modify only the second process chain..which we are trying to copy in the DEV and then do the changes...
Hope , you are clear about our requirement.
Please advise me what exactly we need to look into the DEV and PROD system so that required PC is copied alomg with (????) to DEV system..Please help.
Thank you very much in Advance..

  • What is POP, POP3, and IMAP When I Setup My Email Account in the HP ePrint App?

I have done as much research as I can do in regards to setting up the HP ePrint App Email Accounts.  If you do not see your email information listed here, feel free to post it below or contact your internet service provider, phone or email company, or whomever else that might know this. I am certain there are many more that could be added but this is a rather extensive list.  I hope you find what you need to finish setting up your email applications.
I have noticed information differs from website to website but as I have learned over time, with domain masking and companies buying out other companies, I just researched all the information I could find and that way if one of the hostnames or ports don’t work, then you can continue to view further into this page to see if that information is the same. At that point, if you can’t find what you need here, I would say you have done all that you can do before contacting the appropriate support team for your email information.
Most of the links are active and the ones listed below should send you directly the pages I pulled this information from but only a few of them were from the actual support sites themselves (Apple support was vague, as well as Microsoft, Macintosh, and commonly used ISPs). Save yourself some time by searching here first. I hope you find what you need in this one-stop-shop and if you get an email address not listed here please post it below and I will add it to this original document.
Lastly, as this information is from forum-based and other unofficial websites, I would like to add that this is a copy/paste/edit-for-easy-reading document I created in my spare time. This is a very long document so I do recommend using the search and find quick keys to search for the email you need but the top part of this has definitions as to what servers, ports, and hostnames are and the basic setup in case you need to know what these options are used for and what they mean.
Below are the most common settings needed to set up most POP3/IMAP Email Clients or Devices:
The following information below can be found at http://www.swestcom.com/Support/q4.htm
    “What is POP3?
Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) is a standard mail protocol used to receive emails from a remote server to a local email client. POP3 allows you to download email messages on your local computer and read them even when you are offline."
    "What is IMAP?
The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is a mail protocol used for accessing email on a remote web server from a local client. IMAP and POP3 are the two most commonly used Internet mail protocols for retrieving emails. Both protocols are supported by all modern email clients and web servers."
"Main difference between IMAP and POP3:
The POP3 protocol assumes that there is only one client connected to the mailbox. In contrast, the IMAP protocol allows simultaneous access by multiple clients. IMAP is suitable for you if your mailbox is about to be managed by multiple users."
    "What is SMTP?
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is the standard protocol for sending emails across the Internet. SMTP uses TCP port 25 or 2525 and sometimes you can have problems to send your messages in case your ISP has closed port 25 (How to check if port 25 is open?). To determine the SMTP server for a given domain name, the MX (Mail eXchange) should have more information."
    "When setting up:
POP - choose POP and the incoming server port will default to 110
IMAP - choose IMAP and the incoming server port will default to 143
All other settings are the same.
    Username = [email protected]
Password = the password you set up when you configured your mail box
    Incoming Mail Server = mail.yourdomain.com
    Outgoing Mail Server= smtp.yourdomain.com
Outgoing Server Requires Authentication (typically found in advanced options or settings)
Do NOT check "Log on Using Secure Password Authentication"
Use the same Username and Password as Incoming or select "Use Same Settings as Incoming"
Outgoing Server Port= 2525 or 587This is subject to change based on the individual preferences of your ISP"
Note - Substitute your actual domain name for "yourdomain.com" and substitute the first part of your email address for "user."
    Email Ports
For networks, a port means an endpoint to a logical connection. The port number identifies what type of port it is. Here are the default email ports for:
    POP3 - port 110
    IMAP - port 143
    SMTP - port 25
    HTTP - port 80
Secure SMTP (SSMTP) - port 465
    Secure IMAP (IMAP4-SSL) - port 585
    IMAP4 over SSL (IMAPS) - port 993
    Secure POP3 (SSL-POP) - port 995.

Have you ever wished you could use your AOL email account with something else, something more powerful, something more convenient than AOL, something like Outlook, Windows Mail, Outlook Express, or The Bat!? Thanks to the wonders of IMAP, you can.
If you set up your AOL email account in any email client capable of IMAP, you can receive and send messages easily. Even the AOL folders — Spam, Saved, Sent Items and your Trash will be there automatically. Of course, you can also use POP to fetch incoming mail in an uncomplicated fashion.

Set Up POP or IMAP E-Mail on an Android G1 How do I set up POP or IMAP E-Mail on an Android Device?
From the home screen, tap Applications > Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account > Manual setup.
On the Incoming settings screen, in the Protocol drop-down menu, select IMAP or POP3. We suggest you select IMAP because it supports more features.
In the Email address and Username text boxes, enter your full e-mail address, for example [email protected], and then select Next. Your user name is the same as your e-mail address.
In the Password text box, enter your password.
In the IMAP server or POP3 server text box, enter your IMAP or POP server name. For information about how to look up the server settings you need to complete this step and other steps in this procedure, see “How do I find the server settings” later in this topic.
In the Security type drop-down menu and Server port text boxes, specify the POP or IMAP settings that you looked up in step 5, and then tap Next. Your e-mail application will check your IMAP or POP settings.
On the Outgoing server settings screen, the Login required option should be selected for you, and the Username and Password text boxes should be filled in.
In the SMTP server text box, enter the SMTP server name you looked up in step 5.
In the Security type drop down menu and Server port text box, specify the SMTP settings that you located in step 5, and click Next.
In the Account name, text box, enter a name for your account (for example “Office 365 email” or “Work email”). In the Your name text box, enter the name you want displayed when you send e-mail to others (for example “Tony Smith”), and then select Finish Setup.

The following information is according to a forum comment at the bottom of this webpage concerning HOTMAIL and mail server settings:
“As other web based email services, Hotmail is using the HTTP protocol for connecting you to your mailbox. If you want to send and receive Hotmail emails using an email client software, then your software must support Hotmail HTTP access for your email account. Some email clients, such as Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook, offer builtin support for Hotmail accounts, so you only have to select HTTP when you are asked to select your email account type and select Hotmail as the HTTP Mail Service Provider.”
Mail Server Settings for Hotmail using the Microsoft Outlook Connector
If you are using Microsoft Outlook & the Outlook Connector, you can define your Hotmail account just like any regular POP3 email account:
Hotmail Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop3 . live. com  (logon using Secure Password Authentification - SPA, mail server port: 995)
Hotmail Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) -smtp . live . com (SSL enabled, port 25)
Additional information from this website has not been confirmed or validated as of yet but it does include additional information or perhaps corrected information. If the above steps do not fix the problem with setting up an email account for the HP Apps then read on:
    Yahoo! Mail Settings
Yahoo Mail offers standard POP3 access for receiving emails incoming through your Yahoo mailbox, by using your favorite email client software. To setup your email client for working with your Yahoo account, you need to select the POP3 protocol and use the following mail server settings:
    Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110)
Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25)
POP Yahoo! Mail Plus email server settings
Yahoo Plus Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 995)
Yahoo Plus Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 465, use authentication)
    · Google GMail Settings
The Google GMail service offers email client access for retrieving and sending emails through your Gmail account. However, for security reasons, GMail uses POP3 over an SSL connection, so make sure your email client supports encrypted SSL connections.
Google Gmail Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.gmail.com (SSL enabled, port 995)
Outgoing Mail Server - use the SMTP mail server address provided by your local ISP or smtp.gmail.com (SSL enabled, port 465)
     MSN Mail Settings
The MSN email service allows you to use the MSN POP3 and SMTP servers to access your MSN mailbox.
MSN Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop3.email.msn.com (port 110, using Secure Password Authentication - SPA)
MSN Outgoing Mail Server - smtp.email.msn.com (select "My outgoing server requires authentication")

The AOL email service is a web based system, designed for managing your AOL mailbox via HTTP IMAP access. Unlike Hotmail, you can use any email client to access your AOL mailbox, as long as it supports the IMAP protocol.
AOL Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) - imap.aol.com (port 143)
AOL Outgoing Mail Server - smtp.aol.com or use your local ISP SMTP mail server
     Mail.com Mail Settings

The Netscape e-mail system is web-based, which means you can access their e-mail from any Internet connection. Netscape Internet Service also supports AOL® Communicator, Microsoft® Outlook, Microsoft® Outlook Express, and other POP3 e-mail software. The outgoing mail server needs SSL support, so make sure your email client software supports SSL connections over the SMTP protocol.
Netscape Internet Service Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.3.isp.netscape.com (port 110)
Netscape Internet Service Outgoing Mail Server - smtp.isp.netscape.com (port 25, using a secure SSL connection)

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app.  I am certain other applications also need this information.  Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.  Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!

  • Multiple clients in Developement system for Charm

    Hi Solman experts,
We are planning for the Charm implementation and we have multiple clients in Developement system.
Major hurdle is how to keep all the development clients in sync.
    we have following clients
    100  Golden client
    300  configuration client
    400  ABAP Developement client
    500  Unit test
    600  HR1
    700  HR 2 clients
All configurations will be made in Client 300 and transported to QA and all developements will be made in client 400
Transports released from 300 and 400 should go all other clients.
Solman experts could anyone advice whether this is can be done using charm.
    regards
    Naveen

  • How to manage one wsp and dll for multiple clients in farm environment

    1. There is a product which is developed using C sharp , jquery,CSS and sharepoint object models which have been packaged into .wsp file. Whenever we introduce new functionality to the product we used to branch the
previous code as a version , say Version 1.0 and new functionality of the product will in another solution. This is how we are managing the code in TFS as versions. Each newer version will have new functionalities. We do not give latest functionality for all
the clients. Each client is having its own version of functionality. Technically in order to access the functionality, the wsp solution should be present in the solution repository which is available in SharePoint central administrator site. This solution
will be deployed on the client’s site. We are following the above process in SharePoint standalone installation where we used to purchase dedicated server per client and installed sql, SharePoint foundation 2010 as standalone installation and adding the client
related version of the code to the solution repository. Later host on the site which is created for that client purpose. This process is same for all the clients where we purchase individual server for each client .
Now we want to host our product in farm environment of sharepoint foundation 2010 where we are going to try 3 level architecture.
    • SQL Server-In this sever we are going to install sql server 2008R2 standard edition. Which should serve the database service for all the web applications/sitecollections which we are going to create in Web front end server.
    • Application server- In this server we are going to install the sharepoint as farm and will install search server express for serving search functionality for our product
    • Web front end server- In this server we are going to add this server to Sharepoint farm which we have created in application server. Here we are going to create web applications and site collections for all the clients.
In this scenario how to manage multiple versions of same wsp solution?
Another major issue w.r.t the architecture of the product and new approach for client deployment as follow. We have CSS, jquery files for serving the functionality. These files have been mapped to 14 hive folder. If any changes we do one of the jquery file or
css file which is meant for latest version and not for old version, then how to manage this new functionality for that particular css or jquery file in 14 hive folder, since there is only one 14 hive folder. What is the best practice to make this happen? Another
thing is, how to manage dll files for individual client?

It sounds like you have a farm scoped solution at work. In that case you can only have a single instance of it per farm, you'd have to branch each version so they appear to be seperate solutions entirely (thus ruining your clients upgrade process).
Bluntly i don't think a single farm can manage all your user environments.

  • Solman CHARM: adding multiple clients for quality/Production systems in Solar_project_admin

    Dear Colleagues
We are using Solution manager 7.3. When we setup system landscape under a solution manager implementation project, we can only select one development and one quality/testing system.
    Our scenario is that,
    Development System:
D40 - 010 : (both workbench and customizing changes being done in same client)
    Quality System:
    Q40 - 010 : for customizing changes
    Q40 - 000 : for work bench imports
So the querry is that, how we can add these two separate rows in Solar_project_admin and under tab systems:
