Multiple collections - which collection properties win?

Hi,
In short: if a device is in multiple collections, which collections properties win?
More info, I have 2 collections:
1 contains a config baseline (and therein config items) - Membership is to the 'All Mobile Devices' built-in collection
1 contains 10 apps - Membership is to query all Windows Mobile devices
The membership works fine. If I change the properties of either of the collections, such as Power Management which I want to select "Never Apply Power Mgmt...", does either take priority and if so how, or do both need it? How can I tell?
I'm trying to do the above but having inconcistent results, hence the q.

Power plan: If multiple values for power settings are applied to a computer, the least restrictive value is used.
Wakeup time: If multiple wakeup times are applied to a desktop computer, the time closest to midnight is used.

COLLECT is used to create unique or compressed datsets. The key fields are the default key fields of the internal table itab .
If you use only COLLECT to fill an internal table, COLLECT makes sure that the internal table does not contain two entries with the same default key fields.
If, besides its default key fields, the internal table contains number fields (see also ABAP/4 number types ), the contents of these number fields are added together if the internal table already contains an entry with the same key fields.
If the default key of an internal table processed with COLLECT is blank, all the values are added up in the first table line.
If you specify wa INTO , the entry to be processed is taken from the explicitly specified work area wa . If not, it comes from the header line of the internal table itab .
After COLLECT , the system field SY-TABIX contains the index of the - existing or new - table entry with default key fields which match those of the entry to be processed.
Notes
COLLECT can create unique or compressed datasets and should be used precisely for this purpose. If uniqueness or compression are unimportant, or two values with identical default key field values could not possibly occur in your particular task, you should use APPEND instead. However, for a unique or compressed dataset which is also efficient, COLLECT is the statement to use.
If you process a table with COLLECT , you should also use COLLECT to fill it. Only by doing this can you guarantee that
the internal table will actually be unique or compressed, as described above and
COLLECT will run very efficiently.
If you use COLLECT with an explicitly specified work area, it must be compatible with the line type of the internal table.

COLLECT ... SORTED BY f is obsolete and should no longer be used. Use APPEND ... SORTED BY f which has the same meaning.

Performance
The cost of a COLLECT in terms of performance increases with the width of the default key needed in the search for table entries and the number of numeric fields with values which have to be added up, if an entry is found in the internal table to match the default key fields.
If no such entry is found, the cost is reduced to that required to append a new entry to the end of the table.
A COLLECT statement used on a table which is 100 bytes wide and has a key which is 60 bytes wide and seven numeric fields is about approx. 50 msn (standardized microseconds).

Runtime errors
COLLECT_OVERFLOW : Overflow in integer field when calculating totals.
COLLECT_OVERFLOW_TYPE_P : Overflow in type P field when calculating totals.

Program to interfaces. That way, you can switch out implementations and test for yourself which performance is best in an actual production context. But first, write your program so that it works. Worry about refactoring for performance once your program is written and it works.

You can trigger the Lr Desktop diagnostig log via LR Desktop preferences -> Lightroom Mobile and when you hold down the alt key you will notice a generate diagnostic log button.
The Lr Mobile app log can be triggered when you open up the settings and long press the to LR Icon a diagnostic log will be generated and attached to your local mail client. While opening the settings could you double check if you are signed-in?

Which collection is best for storing millions of records?

I am retriving 30000 records from DataBase and store it into collections and then fetch the values from collections then display the values in JTable..
For the above scnario which collection framework is best..
Bcoz the records may be millions in future..
So it wont affect performance etc..

Before going to display in JTable, i need to store the datas in some collections.
Bcoz architecture is like that only.
i.e, Database routins are handled in seperate class and GUI components are handled in seperate class.
So i have to fetch from db and store it into collections and return the collections and then diplay the same in Swing GUI..

Which collection shall I use (BlockingQueue or Synchronized List) ?

I need to use a thread safe queue in my app that is under high contention - there are 8 producer threads (writing data to the queue) and one consumer (consumer is only one and it is fast enough). MAX size of the queue is fixed (configurable though). Producers keep adding and consumer keeps deleting from the queue. I want to know which collection/approach should be the ideal choice :
1. ArrayBlockingQueue
2. LinkedBlockingQueue
3. LinkedList with synchronization impl
4. ArrayList with synch impl

1. Yes, normal queue semantics are followed (ie data always removed from head and added at the end only).
2. Saying that only BlockingQueue is the option is not correct. I can also opt for normal LinkedList and ArrayList with my own sync implementation like this :

Queue_.notifyAll();
And similar thing can be done on the consumer side.
3. Lastly, pls keep in mind that LinkedList or LinkedBlockingQueue impls wrap the actual objects to be addded into another Node class objects thus creating lots of extra objects that needs to be GCed as well, making the performance not as desired as we expect (extra time is spent on GC).

This is the only system you can not have all item data at least in JSON format and all of it. Big commerce has a lower limit and as I have said in every post related to a limit - I understand the function, but you can still make the requests as just one example (front and back)
Same with API Robert.
Firstly - the SOAP API request on say products gets you ALL the products, if you do something through a REST API request you can make the requests to get all the items to complete your process of what your doing - You have to otherwise the API is pointless.
Ok if the normal modules can not iterate through if there is a module_data solution, and web apps will get there hopefully sooner then later and you do have the sql query (where) for your filter which is great BUT, if you want to implement a solution across everything you cant do that with the liquid implementation.
This also flows through to the JSON everywhere in concept which is fundamentally flawed for the same reason... And again referring other like services where a hard API has a limit but the JSON request returns everything.
How those work varies from the method of request, some will only update every day, xxx time (Depending on cost of the plan) so its a cached version of data, to the ones that limit that request to x number of times per set time/day.
That is how the actual rest of the world works, varied solutions but they are solutions. BC know they have a few limitations, there clearly is the need for things, there are a varied set of options... It is just a matter of engaging in it and offering up a solution for it, silence just creates frustration.

Multiple nestings of collections

I'm fairly versed in the XDK, Oracle object types, object views, and have even had some good success with real XML projects, however I still cannot get past this obstacle.
I understand that the only way to build multiple nestings of oracle collections is to use tables of REF types, but presuming I want to insert a document as such:

I am unable to make adequate object types, table types, relational tables, and object views to support this (or a logically similar) XML schema.
My past experiences have been to break up the schema into managable, non-nested-collections-within-collections and work in pieces.
I'm fairly depressed about the prospect of doing that for much longer.
Does anyone have a sample script that would enlighten me, or a know of a resource that addresses this precise topic? Steve's wonderful book doesn't directly address this, at least that I can discern.
I've gotten as far as making the necessary types, creating the necessary object views - and making the instead of triggers isn't much of big deal to me - but I can't seem to avoid errors like this:

what kind of switch is it? did the logging level chage when you started to see this? this could be just normal people rebooting machines? if you have starte some process to push out patches that require reboots to mahines this could cause this type of message output. have you gone to the device on the ports and checked them out?

There is an example in the \TestStand\Examples\Database directory. Basically there are two ways to connect to your database.
1. You can use the TestStand database step types. There are steps for opening/closing a database connection, opening/closing an SQL statement, and a step for performing a data operation.
2. The other way is to use the TestStand database logging capability to write your results to the database. This is the way I would recommend. With database logging, you use the step results container to record all your results as the sequence runs. (This is done automatically by TestStand). When the sequence is complete, the process model calls a "Log to Database" sequence that will write the results to the database. You must define your datab
ase schema using Configure->Database Options. There are some default (or example) schema definitions already defined. Refer to chapter 18 of your TestStand manual.
Another way to log the data as the sequence is running is shown in the \TestStand\Examples\OnTheFlyReports. This has the advantage of recording data as it is obtained, but it is not as efficient in terms of using a database connection. I don't recommend using this method.
Please post again if you have any more questions. If you are using stored procedures with your database, I can probably give you some tips.

Collection Of Collections

Hi all,
I am dealing with a search page which is having 8 search fields. i have a way for individual search fields. but i need to have multiple search.. with any to any combination in all the 8 fields. for this I need a List or an ArrayList which can hold Lists aagain.
Eg:
List a = null;
List b = null;
List c = null;
List d = null;
/* I want List d to hold the above 3 lists...
List d ={List a , List B, Listc }*/
it need not be a list only.. any collection which can hold any other collections.
If any one knows it pls reply.

No problem, a List (more precisily an ArrayList) can hold a list of any objects including other Lists. Just do: List d = new ArrayList();
d.add(a);
d.add(b);
d.add(c);--lichu
