Multiple connections for Contribute?

Well, we have a development server and a production server.
When they are done testing and developing we prefer that they still
update the development with the latest content in case of a server
problem with the production. The excuse in the past for not doing
this was that web curators are using Contribute and can't update
that way.
My question is...is it possible for a web developer to
connect to two servers to update one website? IE they make the
changes and when they click publish...it updates both the site on
development and the production site. If not, why can't they just
update development and then update production? Do you have to order
some sort of connection key for each site?
I'm new to contribute so forgive me...

each server connection is independent so changes in a
connection can't and wouldn't affect another

  • Multiple connections for the same user.

I have EJB A and EJB B. A and B use a JCA connector that
I have written. I have matchManagedConnections set so that if user U has not used EJB A or EJB B, then a new ManagedConnection is created. If user U has used A or B then that user is given a new virtual connection created from an existing ManagedConnection. Now the problem is that if user U access' A for the first time and then access' B BEFORE A has closed the connection, then a new ManagedConnection is created for user U. Therefore in this case user U gets 2 ManagedConnections to the EIS that we are using. Eventually one of the ManagedConnections is distroyed but I would like to eliminate this in the first place. How do a get Weblogic to see that a user has a ManagedConnection before that user is done with the connection.

You can't have multiple roles on multiple connection, as you are connecting to the same website (different sub directories) ultimately.
    Here is the workaround:-
You can create a new user account on your machine and can manage different roles.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to use multiple connections for xcelsius dashboard via toggle button

Can anyone shed some light on how to apply a toggle button for multiple connections using xcelsius dashboard.
I created two SAP connections in my xcelsius dashboard.  The first connection uses query 1 (bottom ten customers) and the second connection uses query 2 (top ten customers).  I wanted to use a toggle button where the user would click Top Ten customers versus Bottom Ten customers.  Which ever the user clicks in the toggle botton would run that query.
If the toggle button is not the way to handle this can someone explain a better approach to run either query in the same dashboard.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi,
I've never had to do this so have no practical experience.  However in theory you should be able to do the following (assuming the data connection type youu2019re using has the "Usage" tab):
Set up the two connections as normal - On the usage tab set the detail query to Refresh before components are loaded and make sure that this is unchecked for the other query.  Set both queries to populate the same range so that one query will overwrite the other in the Xcelsius spreadsheet.
    Bind a toggle button to a cell e.g. A1
Back to the data connections again and set the "Refresh on trigger" trigger cell to A1.  And set the "When Value Becomes" to either "On" or "Off" dependent on how you've set up the toggle button.  Repeat for the other query.
    Hope this helps,
    Paul

  • Multiple connections for own network

I recently bough a new Compaq laptop and set up a wireless N network using the Linksys WRT300N wireless router and the Linksys WUSB300N wireless adapter for my laptop.  My Dell desktop (about 5 years old and connected wired to the router) is running Win XP (SR2 and all patches/updates) and my laptop is running Vista Home Premium (with all updates).
I've successfully set up my network and can communicate with the router, check settings, etc and even fixed my problem connecting to the Internet.
However, whenever I logon to my laptop I get 2 separate network connections that display for my home network (actually a few more weak networks also show up but I ignore those).  I get one for the 802.11 b/g that is built into my laptop and a I get a second network connection showing for my Linksys USB adapter.  However both are showing at only the b/g speed.  My built-in laptop connection allows local & internet access, but my Linksys USB connection only allows local access.
I tried using the browser interface for the router settings to set my router & laptop from WPA-Personal to both WPA2-Personal thinking that the WPA may be degrading the signal to only "G" speed.  I figure that perhaps my laptop is only allowing one Internet connection even though it is allowing 2 simultaneous local connections.  Unfortunately the Internet connection is with the built-in laptop connection.
I turned off Windows built-in firewall(s) and have Zone Alarm free and Avast anti-virus running on each (desktop and laptop).
How can I get my laptop to recognize my WUSB300N Linksys USB "wireless 'N'" connector at the wireless 'N' speeds.  I don't mind having my laptop's built-in wireless b/g active also, but would prefer to have the wireless N system/connectoin be the default/primary when we're at home on our own network.
    Thanks!

Hi Toomanydonuts.  Thanks for the info.  I ended up trying several more things late last night that first made things worse, but then improved.
I already had given my network an SSID and it had 4/5 or 5/5 bars (others in the area only had 1/5 bars), so I was good on that part.  I tried running diagnotics from the CD-ROM and then re-installing the router & network adapters from the CDs (using the Setup wizard), but I think somewhere in the uninstall & re-install it made things worse.
When I couldn't connect at all from the laptop to the router anymore, I ended up using Windows restore to set my laptop back to the configuration a few days ago.  I then temporarily turned off the ZA firewall and also turned off WPA security on the router & laptop (to none).  When I did this, Windows Vista (laptop) then prompted me if my network was a "Home", "Office" or "Public" network.  When I selected "Home", it immediately changed the network icon to a house and eliminated the second connection.  I was then able to re-enable WPA security on both the router and the laptop and had my one network connection working for "local" and "internet".
As additional security, I enabled MAC wireless security for the router using the laptop's MAC address.  An odd thing though, I now have 2 computers (in addition to my home PC & router) listed as the same name as my laptop name, but with 2 different MAC addresses.  Only the MAC address of the laptop (I got from doing an ipconfig/all in the cmd window), wired desktop & router are highlighted as part of the network.  The 4th computer with the same name as the laptop but with a different MAC address is grayed out.
I think part of the problem was that I enabled the WPA security before the network setup was "ready" for it.  I also updated the driver for the WUSB300N adapter from the Nov 06 version to a Jun 07 version.
For some reason I'm still only getting wireless b/g (at least listed as such on my connection/network properties screen) speed for connectivity even though it appears to be using the WUSB300N Linksys adapter.  I will try to manually disable the built-in wireless adapter to see if that helps.  Is it possible to set up the configuration so when I'm at home I can use my Linksys wireless N adapter but when we're away from the house (connecting any network other than mine) it would then use the built-in laptop adapter?
Thanks again for your help and suggestions.

  • Multiple connections or multiple sessions preferred

    Hi All,
Is it better to create multiple connections for each sender/receiver or single connection but multiple sessions for each sender/receiver? Assume in my case that there are about few hundred receivers. Thanks.

  • Multiple connections/roles on same machine for same site?

As a Contribute CS3 Administrator (newbie; just converted a
Dreamweaver site to work with Contribute), can I set up multiple
connections to the same site? I want to test the Publisher role and
Writer role on my development machine before creating connnection
keys for these roles for the customer who owns the site (and is
waiting with new Contribute licenses and eager but idle staff)?
I just want to be able to test my site under these roles
(using different passwords and username/email addresses), but there
seems no obvious way to do this as Contribute seems to allow me to
set up only one connection per URL, and also seems to want to wipe
out my existing Admin connection if I come on in another role (from
a connection key generated for a Publisher or Writer role).

    Two problems with that:
    1. Tried it by creating a connection key for a Publisher
role, but invoking the key zaps the old connection, so I no longer
have Administrator access without deleting then re-creating the
connection and setting myself up as Admin again.
    2. When I went into the (new) connection as Publisher, it
would let me connect and see pages, but would NOT allow editing of
any pages (even though I had specifically looked when originally
defining the role to make sure all editing privileges were -- or
    appeared to be -- intact).

No. If its transactions across multiple databases you should use different datasources.

  • How to retain socket connection for multiple requests in java 1.3

    Hi All,
My problem is to retain client socket connection without opening and closing socket connection for every request.I want to open the socket connection once and send multiple requests one after the other based upon the response over the same socket. Finally I want to close the socket only after completing all my requests and receiving respective responses.I don't want to open and close the socket for each request and response. While at the same time I expect the socket to send each request only after receiving the response for the previous request.
I am using java 1.3 and I am looking for the solution in same version.
    Please help me .
    Thanx in advance.

Look at my response to "Telnet to Unix box from Java"
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=31&thread=437231
on "Java Programming" forum. It does exactly that to run the signon and a command. It would be easy to extend it to do multiple commands.

  • Multiple db connections for one report

    Hi all,
I am using Oracle Reports 10g R2. Could someone tell me if Oracle Reports supports multiple database connections for one rdf file, like this (using servlet)
    http://your_web_server:port_num/reports/rwservlet?server=server_name&report=myreport.rdf& userid1=username/password@my_db1&userid2=username/password@my_db2 &desformat=pdf&destype=cache
I am asking this question because my report needs data from two separate Oracle databases.
    Edited by: user12239004 on Apr 27, 2010 2:14 AM

No, you can only have one login.
However, this is simple to resolve by creating a database link in one database to the other database.

  • How to use multiple languages in unity connection for greetings

    Hi All,
I have unity connection 7.5 Version. i want to use multiple languages for greetings. i mean i have different users from different geographical location. so i want to use engilsh, french and spanish. can i customize my setup like that.
    Regards
    Pardha

Are you talking about the user greeting? Then have them record the greeting anywhere they want in whatever language they want.  If you install multiple locales you can have each user record greeting in different language as well and then the appropriate language greeting will be played on who addresses this user by using "inherit language" feature. Though this will only work when addressing messages from withn voicemail, not by dialing from phone as that will simply use the default routing rule, unless you create custom rules.

  • Multiple vnc console connections for guest vm

Is there anyway to allow multiple computers to connect to the same guest VNC console?
I noticed in the vm.cfg there were multiple VNC options and I attempted to play with them to see if I could get multiple console connections to work. After editing the file and restarting the guest vm I couldn't get multiple connections. The VM Server users guide didn't provide any clarity on what the VNC commands in the vm.cfg do, just some examples of guest configs. Can anyone enlighten me on how to do this or possibly refer to a link if this question has been asked in the past.
    Thanks,

Q1:Is there anyway to allow multiple computers to connect to the same guest VNC console?
I suggest that you config/start vnc server on guest OS, and you may connect it from different computers. it make sense for you?
Q2:Can anyone enlighten me on how to do this or possibly refer to a link if this question has been asked in the past.
Pleaser refer to this link to know more about VNC options in vm.cfg.

  • Single  bill for multiple connections

    Dear All,
Is it possible to print single bill for multiple connections ? This is my requirement Customer X having 2 connections for Water and 2 connections for Electricity. But we need to bill Electricity and water in a different bill ,but 2 connections for water and 2 connections for electricity should be billed in a single bill.We have created a separate contract accounts for 4 connections.
    Pls guide...
    Best Regards
    Jay

    Hi,
I am not sure, if i completely understand your requirement.
But as per my understanding, you have 4 installations, ( 2 for Water and 2 for Electricity) and you want to have a single invoice created for Electircity and water.
So, its better to create a single contract account with multiple contracts.
If you are creating multiple contract accounts, then it would create multiple invoices (one per contract account - regular scenario). So, please have a multiple contracts with single CA.
Also, if you want to invoice all the contracts together, please find the option on contract for joint invoicing. (option 1).
And, in case you want to bill two connections of electricity as one entity and two of water as one, so in this case, have two contract accounts one for Electricity and one as a part of water. And assign all the electricity contract to one CA and rest of water to another CA.
Invoices are always created at contract account level and the billing documents are created at contract level.
    Hope this helps !!

    Rajesh Popat

I recently updated to Yosemite and never had this issue before.

I'm not 100% sure of the ins and outs, but it's some sort of known issue between Yosemite, Airport and wifi. All you can do is wait for a fix and keep restarting your equipment as and when needed, unless you have the ability to connect your Mac via ethernet.

  • Re: Running the same (Forte) application multiple times -for different

    Hi
We had the same problem - how to deploy a number of identical applications, using each their own db.
    (for training).
The solution we used is to wrap the entire application into different applications by using a very small
module called KURSUS01, KURSUS02 etc, that did nothing but call the start procedure of the main app.
Then in the dbsession connect, we made a call appname to get the application name, and appended the
first 8 chars to the dbname. Thus our dbnames now points to logicals name: rdbdataKURSUS01, rdbdataKURSUS02 etc.
All this allows us to deploy the identical apps in the same env, or change one version, and run both the old
and new program on the same pc and server at the same time (eg. KURSUS01 and KURSUS02).
I also think this is a kludge - but it works nicely!

    Hi All
We have a number of different business clients all willing to use our
    application.
The (forte) application is to run on our machines etc for these (business)
    clients.
All (business) clients will have their data kept in separate Oracle DBs
    (instance).
The problem now is that the entire (forte) application is written using
    DBSessions.
Now, depending on what business client needs to be serviced (so to speak) we
need to attach to the right DB - or use the "right" SO.
The two options we can think of are:
    Option1:
Programatic change to somehow "know" what (business) client (DB) I'm talking
about and then use the right DB.
    Pro:
Only one forte environment to maintain
Can run multiple (business) clients on same PC at the same time
    Con:
    Requires many program changes
    bending O-O rules(?)
can't dynamically name SOs so can it be done at all? (ResourceMGRs maybe?)
    Option2:
Use separate environments! One for each business client.
    Pro:
More defined separation of app and data,
    SLA-easy
    Con:
    Maintain "n" number of environments
Can only run the application for one environment (business client) at a time
on one PC - Big Negative here!
Not knowing any feasible solution to option 1 (without much code changes and
developer moaning) I would go for option two; as I have already worked on
multi-environment setups on VMS back at the Hydro (hi guys).
I would appreciate any comments from anyone who has solved this problem.
