Multiple desktops not working?

Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion I can no longer access other desktops.

sorry as soon as I posted this question I did some more reading and found the solution. I went to mission control which allowed me access to other desktops. Thanks anyway.

Apple tv patch 6.1.1 extended desktop not working

My apple tv just upgraded to patch 6.1.1(6698.99.19) from 6.1(6698.99.19)
I have an Ipad Mini2 which I normally use to view movies on my tv.
I will select the apple tv, (with air play) and play the movie using Moliplayer on the Ipad mini2.
I was able to play from a mac pro I have in my office if I wanted to.
This used to work great as the apple remote controlled the movie and you could set the ipad mini2 down on the desktop.
After the patch, the above does not work. What happens, is the movie is not played.. however an audio icon pops up on the apple-tv
and you can hear the movie audio.
So after this patch, you can only view the movie with mirrored desktop selected after this latest update.
Both the apple mini2 and the mac pro produce the same result.
Additional steps..
I have taken the apple tv and used Itunes to re-install the software with a USB cable. Unfortunately .the same result.
I assume I have a bug I am reporting that can be logged.
Additionally. is it possible to put back the older version of the software so the apple TV will work as before?

I have the exact same problem aswell. Did the update from 6.1 to 6.1.1 on my Apple TV 3rd gen. When using my iPhone 5 showing pictures och videos from my camera roll it works just fine over Airplay. So the problem is not the transmission. When playing a video from my Synology NAS using VLC for iOS nothing happens on my Apple TV like it did before the update! Annoying

Show desktop not working in full screen app

The thumb & three finger swipe to show the desktop does not work for me if the screen is filled with a full screen app. If hte app is not full screen then the gesture works.
Is this a bug, does anyone else get this, what use is the gesture if it doesn't work with full screen apps??!

No, the gesture doesn't work in full screen since technically there isn't a desktop under the full screen app. I just swipe to an adjacent desktop.

Folder redirection (Desktop) not working sometimes

I'm having an issue where sometimes desktop redirection is not working properly.
We have AD set to point the profile path to a local mandatory profile, with GP redirection set for several items, including desktop. However, about half the time when the user logs in, the desktop showing is from their local profile (C:\Users\[username]\desktop).
By logging out and back in a couple times it will finally load the desktop from the redirected location on the network, and the correct icons will show on the desktop, but it will ultimately not work again on the next logon.
Tried GPUPDATE, didn't fix the problem. It doesn't appear to be a rights issue, as I can successfully connect to the redirected desktop folder from within the user's account. What I don't understand is why it is ever loading the user's local profile desktop,
when it is supposed to load the mandatory one.
Any ideas are appreciated!

Figured it out.
The OU the computer was in didn't have the computer GPO linked. One of the computer GPO settings was to delete the locally cached profile of the user upon logout. Since this wasn't being done, Windows was loading the locally cached profile rather than the
mandatory profile. This also was apparently causing the local account desktop to show rather than the redirected desktop. I'm assuming it was irregular depending on which profile was showing most recent modified.

Multiple Actions not working for DPS

I've created a box and made it into a button. I've assigned two actions to this button:
If I have both actions checked, it works fine in the preview within InDesign, but does not work on the desktop Content Viewer and it does not work when uploaded to the iPad.
If I uncheck either box, it works well in all scenarios. Any ideas.

No Bob, it does not. It just has two states:
"menorah blank": A white box on the page that is "invisible" since it blends in with the page color.
"menorah popup": A pop up box with the graphics. There is an invisible box (but not within the "menorah" MSO" that sits above the red "x" box to send the "menorah" MSO back to it's blank state. Could this be the problem?
I'be be happy to ftp that single indesign page to you if it would help.

Hi Srikanth,
You should map the node of the target side(the one which you want to occur multple times) to the node of the source side based upon which the target side node has to occur multiple times. For example lets say our source and target side structures are like this:
<Source>
              <Element1>
              <Element2>
              <Element3>
</Source>
<Target>
              <Element1>
              <Element2>
              <Element3>
</Target>
Now if you want Target to occur n times if Source node occurs n times, you should map Target node to the Source node. Even in case you want that Element1 of target side should occur as many times as many times you have Element1 of Source side, you should do the same.

Finder stop working 10810 Desktop not working either Mac Book Pro 13 Snow Leopard 10.6.8

Finder stopped working 10810. I have reboot it, created a new adm account but desktop not showing files or icons on it.
I have deleted com.apple.finder.plist and even though not working.
I dont have the disks available how to recover or make finder work .
Any suggestion are welcome.

Sounds like a issue when the video cache file is being written, perhaps anti-virus is scanning it, or it's being written to smaller or failing sectors.
1: Hard drives ideally below 50% filled, never more than 80%, use Activity Monitor> Drive Usage.
2: Always on anti-virus? Uninstall it, use the free, run as you need it ClamXav instead
4: MacKeeper? Uninstall it and never use it again.
5: Copy all User files to a external storage drive (not only TimeMachine), reduce user files down, disconnect all drives, use Disk Utility > Erase Zero Free Space to catch failing sectors in free space on the boot drive.
6: Restored from TimeMachine or clone? Likely restored a corrupted system or malware.
Run through this list from #1 - #16 or go hard core and #9 and Zero erase entire drive in #20, start over.

Flixster Desktop not working

Hey! so this is my question. Last week I downloaded flixster but the desktop version. Today I tried to play a movie but it shows me "Blocked plug in" I've already uninstalled the app, quit and open again, did the internet plug in, not working, help plz

I'm having the same problem and I think it's because I am tethered to my iPhone. Flixster tells me that not all movies/tv shows are available for download on the desktop version, so I am assuming they still require internet collection to be played. Since I am on 3G maybe it's not letting me because I need a Wi-Fi connection? Just a theory. Wish it was like iTunes and I could watch things without needing internet!!

BB Link "icon" on desktop not working -

I downloaded BBLink software; the icon is on my tool bar. However, when I point/click on the icon it does absolutely nothing. I tried downloading to computer 2x's - still does not work. Help? thank you.

It could be a browser issue if it's on your browser's toolbar. I only suggest this because I'm not aware of this being a widespread problem.
The first step in troubleshooting this issue is to try clicking the desktop icon as opposed to a toolbar icon.

Multiple DHCP on Multiple VLAN not working

In my core network switch, I have multiple VLANs, I have these command to assign to DHCP pools. I configured a port on my core switch for DMZ_VLAN and when I connect my computer to this port, I can get the ip address from the dmz_vlan dhcp pool. Because I assigned an IP address to the interface of vlan 192, then I found that one of my server "192.168.0.100" connection dropped, I cannot ping this server on the dmz VLAN, and it cannot provide the http service as usual until I remove the "interface vlan 192" from the switch. Why? However; without this command, I cannot receive the 192.168.0.0 network IP from the pool.

Sorry for the delay as I got busy with work. If your layer 3 switch is the default gateway for VLAN 192 then the default-router for the DHCP scope should be the IP address of the layer 3 switch interface (192.168.0.254). With that being said, the FW DMZ_192 interface, the switch SVI for VLAN 192 and the DMZ server should all be in the same broadcast domain, thus they should be able to reach each other.
So, can you confirm with me exactly what does not work on the server configured with VLAN 192 and a static IP? For instance,
1. Can you ping the server from the L3 switch
2. Can you ping the server from the FW
3. Can the server ping 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.254
4. Can the server ping the outside world? For instance, www.google.com and 4.2.2.2
5. Have you tried taking a test PC, connecting to the switchport configured for VLAN 192 and see if you get an IP address from the DHCP scope

Multiple event not working in interactive report

I am developing a interactive report used Set-PFstatus '100' , AT user-command and At line-selection in a single program.
Here At line-selection is not working but at user-command is working fine.
After commenting set-PF ststus '100' event at line selection is working.
Ii want at to use at-user command and at line-selection both to work with set pf-status.
Please help me out.

You can use these events together but in case while
creating your GUI status for your program you have
to give Function Code 'PICK' with F2 short cut key
because for at line selectino double click 'PICK' function
code is trigerred.

Remote desktop not working on mountain lion

My ARD does not work on Mountain Lion. The software opens but all I get is the menu at the top, and my only working option is to quit. I spoke to Apple support and they suggest (as they usually do) to reinstall the whole operating system, but I can't accept this as a valid answer as everything else works. There must be a way to fix this without having to reinstall a machine that came originally with Mountain Lion!

I was able to fix my issue by just uninstalling ARD (I used AppZapper) - and just reinstalling it - no "Archive & Install" required - best of luck with your situation!

Multiple panels not working properly

1. The page opens with the #2 & 3 tabs open, even though they are set to false.
2. The read less function does not work properly with tabs 2 & 3.
I'm new to Spry and .js and pieced this together based on what I could find in the forums.

There are a few problems that I have noticed so far.
Line #1 <!doctype html5> is not recognised, hence the page will revert back to HTML 4.01 Transitoinal. It should read <!doctype html>
Line #51 (links to) style rules should be placed in the <head> element, not in the <body> element
Lines #124, #159 and #188 all link to the same JS file. Delete two of them.
Lines #126, #161 and #207 contain a constructor for the same widget. The former two should be deleted.
Lines #190 and #208 contain a constructor for the same widget. The former should be deleted
Although JS can be placed anywhere in a document, I tend to place all JS at the bottom, just above the ending body tag (</body>) unless the JS is required for rendering purposes in which case it should be placed where it is required. This way, you can keep check of what you have linked to and which constructors you have created thus eliminating the problems mentioned above.
Also you might like to have a look at a collapsible panel group http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/collapsiblepanel/CollapsiblePanelGroupSamp le.html. This will simplify the code somewhat.

Why is Apple remote desktop not working?

I have 4 machines in a remote office that I need to connect to using ARD 3.6. I have a VPN connection working and am able to successfully control all but one of the machines. I have checked all of the settings and have confirmed that the Mac that ARD is not working has all of the same sharing preferences as the machines that are working. All of these machines are on the same network. All of the machines are running OS 10.8.x. All machines that I am able to connect to are running 10.8.3 but the one I can't is only at 10.8.2, but that is only because I haven't been able to remote into it yet to perform the OS update. The weird thing is that I can see the unresponsive Mac (can see the IP address, the version of ARD, OS version, etc.) but I simply can't connect to it to control or observe using ARD. I am however able to use TeamViewer from a remote Windows PC.
Can someone provide some ideas as to what to check and or how to fix this? TIA.

Do you have remote login enabled?
Have you tried using the kickstart command to restart the ARD Client?

If it's not enabled you will need to call a user or someone at the location and have them check the box to enable remote login.
In the past the ARD client has 'stalled' forcing me to restart the agent. Another option would be to have someone restart the machine for you.
I have actually had to use ssh to uninstall and re-install the client software due to corruption or ??.
Let me know what the outcome is. I see this was from May so let me know either way.

Remote Desktop not working on client after crash

I was installing the ARD Client along with some other OS upgrades on two client computers. My main ARD console was busy copying some files so I set up ARD to install the pkgs via the task server on another Mac. During the install my main ARD console crashed. Now the clients show up with the status that Screen sharing is allowed but they show the old version of the ARD client is installed. I manually installed the new ARD client but it still shows up on my console as the old version. Sometimes I can connect to the clients and sometimes I cannot. I can't do anything other than screen sharing and that is not working well either. I went to the client computer and stopped and started ARD through system preferences. When that didn't work I used the terminal command to kickstart ARD on the client. No change on the admin side. I've also noticed when I am able to connect to the client that it is constantly reconnecting to it like it is dropping the connection. I ran Activity monitor on the client and ARDAgent shows up there but keeps disappearing like its starting and stopping on its own. Has anyone had anything similar happen to them?

When I looked in this folder, I saw the "Client" folder with the red "no access" icon on it. I did a GetInfo and changed the permissions for this folder to include Administrators with read/write (why it wasn't already like this as I was logged into the server through ARD as admin [server is headless], I'll never know).
I propagated this perm changes down through the folder's children and all seems well. Its likely that because of the access issue, ARD could not initiate any connections (vnc://serverIP did not work either initially).
