Multiple device connection

Does the bluetooth in macbook can support mutiple device connection in parallel? Like mouse and printer at the same time.
thanks

Just add devices to the bluetooth 'Devices' list under the bluetooth preferences.

  • Our home network has multiple devices connected by iCloud. Having problem with Calendar. On one iMac, all the events are duplicated. How can I correct that problem? Under the Calendar accounts, I had my Apple id listed and also just iCloud.

Our home network has multiple devices connected by iCloud: 2 iMacs, 2 iPhone 4s, 1 MacPro Laptop, and 1 iPad 2.  When using Calendar, all the events were
duplicated on my husbands iMac.  On his computer, under Calendar accounts, I had included iCloud and also my iCloud ID.  I thought that because I had two accounts listed that were connected to iCloud, that might be the cause of the duplication.  When I deleted ithe calendars from one of the accounts, it resulted
in deleting all of the events on all of our network devices!
I have since entered some new events into Calendar from my iMac and from my iPhone.  These appear correctly on all devices except my husband's iMac where they are again all duplicated.
I have two questions: 1)  How can I eliminate the duplicated events on my husband's computer and 2) How do I retrieve the old wiped out Calendar events from
Time Capsule.  I don't know how to find Calendar in the Time Capsule.  If I find the Calendar information in Time Capsule, how do I transfer it to my current Calendars?
I was obtaining phone help from one of the Apple techs at Apple Support, but our call was disconnected part way through.  Didn't know how to reconnect with the tech.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Issues with FIOS modem/router's wireless and multiple devices connected to the WLAN?

I am an IT consultant who was assisting someone with getting some devices connected to the fios wireless router and adding a wireless print server so they could print wirelesly.
I was having difficulty with one of their systems that was connected prior to me going on site.
It was having difficulty obtaining an IP from the WLAN, i tried reinstalling the adapter, removing stored wlan settings and setting it up again, etc.
When it did obtain an IP it could not ping the router.
I had left it suggesting that they replace the wireless adapter on that system.
However they're saying that after they shut down one of their other devices that i had connected (a netbook), that this problematic system started working fine.
It makes no sense that a wireless client would have an impact on another wireless client. We're only talking 4 total devices here, a netbook, a laptop, a wireless print server and a desktop in another area of the house that has a usb wireless adapter.
Does anyone have any ideas on if Verizon's wireless built in to the fios modem/router just isn't too good to handle multiple wireless devices?
After hearing this i was thinking they might have been better off configuring the fios router as a bridge and getting a better wireless router or shutting off the fios supplied wifi and implementing a wireless access point instead of using the router/modem that verizon provides.

By bridge I mean in the sense you see some of the early DSL setups configured before they started using multiport routers -- essentially bridging the WAN MoCA port to the LAN ethernet.   The ActionTEC's won't do that.   This is what I think most are seeking to do when they want to turn the device into a "bridge" (essentially making the Verizon unit "transparent" to the communication which in this scenario it can't be).  You can do as suggested an turn the ActionTEC into essentially a "switch/bridge" that is only bridging the MoCA LAN and Ethernet LAN segments, but this then requires you to have an ethernet WAN feed from the ONT ... and as indicated, it is definitely not a "supported" configuration from Verizon (although there is nothing "wrong" with doing it this way if you are comfortable with networking and understanding the mechanics of all that is going on -- if not, sticking with a supported configuration is highly advisable).

  • Having issues with multiple devices connecting to AirPort

    Hello All
I'm having an issue when people come to visit. It seems my network goes haywire once they get here with their devices.
My network consits of an Airport Extreme and two Airport Expresses connected to a cable modem. On the network I have two iMacs, Mac Pro, two TiVos, Xbox 360, Foscam Secutity camera, two iPad minis, iPod, iPhone 4S and an iPhone 3GS. They are all connected to the main network login.
When guests come over, most weekends my girl and her daughter, they have two iPhones, and iPad 2 and an iPad mini. Once they get here, we all seem to get knocked offline. Some devices stay connected at times, but most, if not all, get knocked offline. I assumed it was something wrong with one of their devices. They connect with the Guest login.
This weekdend we had some friends visiting and my girl and her daughter were not here. These friends showed up with two iPhones, a MacBook Pro, an iPad mini, iPod and a kindle. Same thing happended...all knocked off line. They also connected with the Guest login.
Are there limits to the number of devices? If so, I wouldn't think I am hitting that limit, could it be that low?
Thank you in avance for any input or assistance.
    Cooch

I have the Express units that look like a white AppleTV. Not the ones that plug directly into the wall, they have a power cable. I believe they are 2nd Generation.
Yes, those would be 2nd generation Express base stations and they should be able to support up to fifty wireless connections.
Are both of these connected back to the Extreme with a wireless or wired connection? Regardless of which are they both configured to extend the Extreme's Wi-Fi range?
I am assuming that you have this network configured to also support a guest network ... correct?
The Extreme is not the latest tall one, it's the one just before they released the new one.
That should make your Extreme a 5th generation model, which is just fine.
Do the Express devices count as wireless connections?
    Yes.
Even if I include the Express devices, I have 14 connections. If two people come to my home with two devices each, I am still under 20 connections. All Airports and devices are on the same level of the house, approximately 1000 square foot area, with open doors into every room.
Yes, according to the number of devices you stated, this should work.
The only idea I have at this time is to temporarily disable the guest networking feature. Once done, see if you still have the issue. Do you?

  • Connecting multiple devices to Lan ports on airport

Hi, I have an Airport Base Station where I need multiple devices connected to through LAN cables. In short it is a) Apple TV and b) External TV providers box.
When I plug in the Apple TV to the first LAN port it works great, and I then connect the external TV providers box to the second lan port, and now it won't connect to the internet.
If I turn these around, then the apple TV won't connect, but the box will connect.
The station is set-up in bridge mode, and when I switch it to DHCP/NAT, then I get an error "doubble NAT".
What do I need to do to get both devices working at the same time when connected through the LAN ports?

If this is the device that you have........http://www.technicolor.com/en/solutions-services/connected-home/modems-gateways/ xdsl-modems-gateways/tg799vac-xtream  ........then it is a gateway type of device that combines a modem and router in one package.
The Time Capsule must connect to a device like this using the "Off (Bridge Mode)" setting to avoid errors on the network. Make sure that the Ethernet cable from the Technicolor gateway connects to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule.
If the Off (Bridge Mode) setting does not work, I would suggest that you reset the Time Capsule back to factory default settings and then set it up again.
Are you still using the OS X (10.4.9) operating system that you indicate in your profile?  If yes, you would need a much more up to date operating system to work with the Time Capsule.
If resetting the Time Capsule and setting it up again does not work, then I would recommend that you contact Apple Support for more assistance. Click on the flag of your country on this link:

  • Does Airport Express support multiple ethernet connections via a switch?

If I use the following configuration, with the Airport Express extending my network, will it handle multiple devices connected via a switch?
Modem---Airport Extreme- - -802.11n- - -Airport Express---Switch---multiple devices (eg. network printer and iMac).
Or do I need to use a second Airport Extreme instead?

It works for me—even when the AirPort Express device is configured to extend the wireless network created by the AirPort Extreme router.

  • I have multiple devices (imacs, lap tops and ipads) all connected to a NAS server.  Can I create a user for myself and one for my wife, and each have our own apple ID, and Itunes accounts, but all share the same media on NAS drives?

I have multiple devices (iMacs, Lap tops, Ipads) all connected to a Nas Drive.  Can I create a user for myself and one for my wife and we each have our own apple ID's, Itunes etc, but share the same data on the hard drives?  So when she logs in, and sync's her ipads, they will sync with her stuff and when I do the same under my user account, on the same device, my ipads will sync with my stuff?

You can share the same Apple ID for purchasng form the iTunes and app stores without any problems, but you should all used separate iCloud accounts with separate Apple IDs.  (You are not required to use the same ID for iCloud and other services as you do for the iTunes store.)  This will prevent you from ending up with merged data.  You should also use separate Apple IDs for iMessage and FaceTime or you will end up getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.

  • Solved. Travel router WTR54GS sharing one wireless hotspot connection with multiple devices

Hi, Passing on info I've learned.
The manual for the WTR54GS mentions being able to "...use multiple devices on a single hotspot account in a coffee shop or airport lounge...". See my original posting, "How to set up a wireless private bubble at paid hotspot? WTR54GS?", which ended in a dead end. I subsequently had a Linksys live chat session and the representative provided the solution. Perhaps worthy to be included in the Wireless FAQ?
Situation: you have access to a paid hotspot (hotel room, meeting room, etc.) and you want to share the connection with several devices, also wirelessly.
Solution: the WTR54GS can accept an incoming Internet connection wirelessely and re-broadcast that connection to form your own private bubble or network. (Note the WTR54GS can also accept an incoming Internet connection via Ethernet cable).
Linksys Live Chat pointed me to these web pages.
Go to the Linksys Easy Answers page: For a schematic of the concept of "associating the travel router to a hotspot (wirelessly)" search for Easy Answer ID# 4831
    URL for above is http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=4831&p_created=1167963305&p_sid=GmLnq3Zi&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NjImcF9wcm9kcz0wJnBfY2F0cz0xNzIxLDE3MjMmcF9wdj0mcF9jdj0yLjE3MjMmcF9zY2ZfbGFuZz0xJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9V1RSNTRHUw**&p_li=&p_topview=1
There is a "configuration simulator" that shows the options for selecting a wired or wireless incoming Internet Type.
    http://linksys.com/ui/files/WTR54GS/1.0_15/Setup-Wireless.htm
The hotspot has to be "open", that is transmitting an SSID and with no WEP or WPA key. It may have a log-in page accessible via a web browser, this is okay as this will be passed onto the connected device.
My personal application is to be able to connect a PDA that has a 801.2b wifi to a 801.2g wireless network. I haven't tried it but if this works, it will extend the useful life of my PDA in a "g" environment. Will report back once I find a "g" only environment. Comments?

There are two conditions which must be met in order to use your WTR54GS to "extend" an incoming, wireless internet connection:
    The incoming connection must be unsecured.  You have already covered this point;
The security settings on your WTR54GS can only be set to "WEP," or to "Disabled."  If you choose "WEP," then you can use either a 40/64-bit, or a 128-bit key.
If those two conditions have been met, then it works fine -- says the guy who is sharing one paid internet conneciton in his hotel amongst three devices, and with co-workers in nearby rooms.

  • Multiple Devices Keep Losing Wireless Connection t...

We have multiple kids and hence multiple devices, daily, different devices are able to connect and others aren't. The only solution is to reset the homehub and they can all then connect, but it is only a matter of time before connectivity is lost. Happens on all device types, phone, TV, printer etc.
Anyone have similar issues and is there a resolution?

What Hub are you using ?
If an HH4 A or an HH5 A it is best to have different SSIDs for 2.4 and 5 GHz signals.

  • Multiple devices cannot connect

I can not connect multiple devices (iphone, windows laptop) wirelessly. I have an airport extreme, Imac operating on SnowLeopard.  My Ipad and macpro connects fine wirelessly. This is a new problem. Worked fine for 6 months. I have rebooted both the cable modem and the airport express router. For some reason my password is being rejected or saying unable to connect.  Again, this is a new problem.

Check to make sure that your Time Capsule is configured as a router....not a bridge....to allow both DHCP and NAT services.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the next box that appears
Click the Network tab at the top of the next window
Make sure that the setting for Router Mode is set to DHCP and NAT
Click Update to save the settings and allow 30 seconds for the Time Capsule to restart
Then....very important....power off all devices on the network in any order you want
    Wait a few minutes
Start the modem first, and let it run a full minute by itself
Start the Time Capsule next, the same way
Keep starting devices one at a time until the entire network is back up

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

  • Drive trigger line by multiple devices (or connect many trigger lines)

    Hey all,
Here's what i've been trying to do recently and am starting to get frustrated. So basically I want multiple devices to drive the same trigger line. Thought this mighyt be a problem for my application. Let me rephrase with a question that would give me the optimal solution. I have an PXI-6653 card on my PXI-1045 and what i want to do is say:
Send triggers generated on 2 lines (say PXI_Trig0 and PXI_Trig1) to a 3rd line (say PXI_Trig2). effectively I want the line PXI_Trig2 to get triggered whenever either of the first 2 get triggered. (If you want to think of this in a binary logic way, I want something like "Trig2 = Trig0 OR Trig1" , so I will get a rising edge on 2 whenever 0 or 1 have a rising edge)..
If it try to send (connect) both Trig0(source) and Trig1(source) to Trig2(destination) using NISYNC vi's, it wont work because it will say that Trig2 is already in use after connecting to one of the others (0 or 1).
Note that I dont want Trig0 or Trig1 to change, i.e i dont want to send trig0 to trig1 and then send trig1 to trig2
PS: when i say "send trig1 to trig2" i mean connect trig1 as the source and trig2 as the destination in the NISYNC connect trigger terminal VIs.
What can be done about this? Smart workarounds? or some way of overriding the fact that i cant connect multiple lines to the same destination line??

    Hey mimomar,
Could you give us a little more background as to why you are trying to share the connection between these trigger lines? Most likely you will have to implement some sort of external connection to achieve this, but if I had more details as to the hardware that you are trying to synchronize with this setup then we should be able to give you the best solution. Let me know!

    Lars

  • Connect multiple devices to one Thunderbolt port with docking station

    Hello everybody,
for a video editing setup I would like to use all devices connected until now directly to my iMac just with a Thunderbolt docking station on only one Thunderbolt port. What I do not understand is, whether bitrate will stay the same for each device or will be splitted? Has this to do with daisy chaining Thunderbolt devices?
So this will be the setup:
1 Thunderbolt cable from iMac to Thunderbolt docking station
    devices connected to docking station:
    one Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt
one external USB 2.0 hard drive
one external USB 3.0 hard drive
    external HDMI monitor
    Ethernet connection
So the general question is, will all of these devices get only part of the bitrate that Thunderbolt provides or can each device, theoretically, get full Thunderbolt bitrate?
And are there different types of Thunderbolt cables (Thunderbolt 1 or 2) that I have to pay attention to?
    Regards DonTimo

Also, if you use the Apple 27" Thunderbolt Display, it will have an additional Thunderbolt and Firewire ports on its back.

  • Connecting bluetooth accessory to multiple devices

Bought the XGPS150 to work with my wi-fi only iPad2. It would have been a bonus if it could talk to two iPad's/devices at the same time, but it cannot.
Multiple devices can pair with it, but it can only communicate with one iPad/Phone/Touch at a time.
I can understand this with accessories like headphones or keyboards (maybe). But with a GPS device that mainly pushes data instead of receives data it would be nice to send to multiple devices at the same time.
Is this a limitation with the vendor? With the Bluetooth 2.0 specification? Fixed in Bluetooth 3.0 or still a limitation?
    Thanks!

Bluetooth uses a master/slave protocol.  The iPad is the master.  Headphones, XGPS, keyboards are slaves.  All communication is between master and slave.  A master can have multiple slaves but a slave can have only one master.

I'd recommend posting on the Flex and Flash Builder forums for this versus Proto.
I'm not sure if Flash Builder would support it, given iOS and flash compatibility restrictions, but you should confirm with other developers
