Multiple devices cannot connect

I can not connect multiple devices (iphone, windows laptop) wirelessly. I have an airport extreme, Imac operating on SnowLeopard.  My Ipad and macpro connects fine wirelessly. This is a new problem. Worked fine for 6 months. I have rebooted both the cable modem and the airport express router. For some reason my password is being rejected or saying unable to connect.  Again, this is a new problem.

Check to make sure that your Time Capsule is configured as a router....not a bridge....to allow both DHCP and NAT services.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the next box that appears
Click the Network tab at the top of the next window
Make sure that the setting for Router Mode is set to DHCP and NAT
Click Update to save the settings and allow 30 seconds for the Time Capsule to restart
Then....very important....power off all devices on the network in any order you want
Wait a few minutes
Start the modem first, and let it run a full minute by itself
Start the Time Capsule next, the same way
Keep starting devices one at a time until the entire network is back up

  • Wireless working, but devices cannot connect

Just recently, my FIOS wireless router started acting up. Regardless of what Wi-Fi enabled device I use (laptop, phone, etc.), sometimes the devices cannot connect to the internet wirelessly. When this happens, I would have to turn off and turn on the laptop's or phone's Wi-Fi and it will immediately work. This only happens on all my wireless devices because anything connected to the router via cable does not experience this issue. Anyone have a solution? Thanks.

Sound like you're possibly having a radio signal problem.  Did you possibly just acquire a new wireless phone?
Try logging on to the router and select the wireless tab and change the channel your router is broadcasting on.

  • Always 2 devices cannot connect to the 2T TC

i just purchase a 2T TC yesterday. I was trying to connect to my device(2 iphones, 2 ipads, 2 Mac air, and 1 Mac pro), 2 mac air, mac pro , and 1 iphone works fine, and 2 ipads connot connet to the internet.
i tried to reset the TC, still have the same problem; however, this time 1 iphones and 1 ipad cannot connect to internet.
Everytime i rest the TC the last two device that i was trying to connect doesn't, but the first 4-5 works fine.
Can you help me with this
    Thanks

Hi Aimeeeee .. I like the name.
How is the TC setup? Is it in router or bridge mode?
What is it plugged into? Is there enough DHCP addresses for all your devices?
The TC in router is fine but if you bridge it check that the main router is also set correctly.
Set wireless with fixed radio channels.. try 11, 6, 1.. in turn..
Use wireless names that are short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Those two things often get iOS stuff working again.

  • Other Devices Cannot Connect

I just set up my Linksys Internet, and I noticed that my other devices such as my laptop and xbox 360 cannot connect to the internet. THere is no wireless security such as WEP, but it still won't connect. The xbox360 troubleshooter says (DNS Failed). What do I Do?
    Thanks
    -Mike

logon to the router's web interface .. go to the "status" tab and check the internet ip add .. ensure that you have a valid internet ip add ...
change the MTU settings to 1365 and go to the "applications and gaming" tab..click on "port trigerring" subtab.. trigger ports 88 and 3074 ...
    change the wireless settings , channel - 11 , beacon interval - 50 , Fragmentation and RTS threshold - 2304
check whether this makes any difference ..

  • Drive trigger line by multiple devices (or connect many trigger lines)

    Hey all,
Here's what i've been trying to do recently and am starting to get frustrated. So basically I want multiple devices to drive the same trigger line. Thought this mighyt be a problem for my application. Let me rephrase with a question that would give me the optimal solution. I have an PXI-6653 card on my PXI-1045 and what i want to do is say:
Send triggers generated on 2 lines (say PXI_Trig0 and PXI_Trig1) to a 3rd line (say PXI_Trig2). effectively I want the line PXI_Trig2 to get triggered whenever either of the first 2 get triggered. (If you want to think of this in a binary logic way, I want something like "Trig2 = Trig0 OR Trig1" , so I will get a rising edge on 2 whenever 0 or 1 have a rising edge)..
If it try to send (connect) both Trig0(source) and Trig1(source) to Trig2(destination) using NISYNC vi's, it wont work because it will say that Trig2 is already in use after connecting to one of the others (0 or 1).
Note that I dont want Trig0 or Trig1 to change, i.e i dont want to send trig0 to trig1 and then send trig1 to trig2
PS: when i say "send trig1 to trig2" i mean connect trig1 as the source and trig2 as the destination in the NISYNC connect trigger terminal VIs.
What can be done about this? Smart workarounds? or some way of overriding the fact that i cant connect multiple lines to the same destination line??

    Hey mimomar,
Could you give us a little more background as to why you are trying to share the connection between these trigger lines? Most likely you will have to implement some sort of external connection to achieve this, but if I had more details as to the hardware that you are trying to synchronize with this setup then we should be able to give you the best solution. Let me know!

    Lars

  • Time capsule won`t allow multiple devices to connect to the internet

I`ve got a 2TB time capsule that worked fine.
I moved to this condo where the is already a wired internet service available to each apartment. The access is made through a login and password whenever You open you browser, if connected directly on the WAN cable. No multiple logs are allowed.
When I used my Time Capsule to create a wi-fi network and serve as a router I could access the internet on my MacBook over the wi-fi just created. No problem at all. But whenever I try to log other devices (iphone, apple tv) it asks for my ap login and password, and of course it states that there`s already an active connection to that user and won`t grant me access.
I`ve then borrowed a tp-lynk router from a friend of mine, created a wi-fi network (without the time capsule on it), it asked for the log in and all but then everything worked fine and I could use all my devices through this network.
Back to the time capsule, I`ve tried different settings. First one was bridge mode, but it didn`t work. Tried DHCP & NAT but had the double NAT issue.
    Also I`ve tried this solution https://www.autoitconsulting.com/site/networking/configuring-an-airport-extreme- for-nat-only-mode/
    but it would`t work either.
My guess is that somehow Time Capsule is attributing different IP addresses to each device that enters the Wi-Fi network, and that`s the reason I can`t access the net, since the service provider won`t allow more than one connection. On the other hand TP-Lynk was able to connect to the internet service through one IP address and then connect to other devices.
Any idea on how to solve this issue?

Tried DHCP & NAT but had the double NAT issue.
If you got the TC working and had double NAT .. sorry but the TP-Link is exactly the same.. you cannot distribute a single IP without double NAT.. the TC tells you it is a problem.. the TP-Link doesn't.. otherwise there is no difference.
But it is important the double NAT is setup right.. ie you must use different ranges.. please tell us the IP you get from a directly connected computer..
If it is 10.x.x.x then you should move the TC to 192.168. rather than default IP of 10.0.1.1 .. the TP-Link already will use 192.168.x.x. which might also explain why it works better.

  • BEFW11S4 v4 - wired devices work, wireless devices cannot connect to the Internet

    Greetings,
I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless, ver 4. I have a PC connected directly to one of the Ethernet ports, and have no problem with that connection. I have a DSL service from Verizon. All devices are running Windows XP.
My wireless Laptop, as well as other desktop with wireless USB adapter cannot access the Internet. It seems that I have a wireless connection between the router and these devices since my Laptop can see the SSID and the wireless network and connect to it. But when I try to launch IE explorer or use AOL, I am not successful.
The frustrating part is that the wireless laptop used to work just few days ago and I haven't changed any set-up or added any hardware.  I have tried to re-install the router, and also did few resets...but nothing is working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Elie

    Elie,
From one of the wireless computer, wither desktop or laptop, try this to help isolate the issue:
fo to Start>run> type "cmd" then click enter
that would open MS DOS, type: Ping (your router IP address)
For Example, if the router IP address is 192.168.1.1, then type:
    ping 192.168.1.1 then click enter
if it does not come back with a time out, then you your PC is connected to the router. If it did time out, then it is the wireless connection.
If so, check the wireless configuration on the router, as of SSID, security if any , etc.. and make sure that the wireless card in each desktop and laptop match those settings. Be aware that SSID is "case sensitive" so it has to match exactly the one in the router.
hope that will help you in troubleshooting the issue

  • Ipad device cannot connect to itunes.

it only detect camera device. This make  ipad cannot be synronize or update. Any one can help on this?

This often happens when you have pics in the Camera Roll of your iPad. Mine does this all the time. First thing I would do is check your Image Capture application on your Mac or whatever image capture program you might be using on your pc. Change the preferences to not start automatically when you connect a camera. That will prevent the camera software from starting when you connect your iPad.
As an alternative you can leave the camera software as it is and just quit it when it starts upon connecting your iPad. Then start iTunes. You'll find your iPad listed in iTunes this way.

  • Some Devices cannot connect to internet

Hey all, just started having this problem about 2-3 weeks ago. Some devices including My pc, 2 laptops, and 2 roku devices are able to connect to the internet just fine (all via wireless). Internet is noticeably slower however, and my pc which also has a wired line is unable to connect via the hardwire connection. The devices unable to connect are my Nexus 7 tablet, Roku HD, and a Vizio Smart TV. (Tablet and Roku via wireless, smart tv via hardwire.)
My router is a WRT54GS2 V1. Like I said, I never had any issues with any of these devices prior to 2-3 weeks ago. None of the devices are new and have all been connected in my home for some time.
When trying to connect my tablet it will say Authenticating, Obtaining IP Address, and then after a while of trying to connect it says Avoided Poor Internet connection.
The Roku HD stops at the second bubble where it says Connecting to Local Network (or something like that).
The Vizio Smart TV just won't do anything. When I attempt to test connection it just says unable to connect.
The real kicker is that I have been able to get the internet working on all devices 2-3 different times which lasts a few days maybe. Really all I did was keep trying to unplug the router and modem until it worked (mostly to no success).
So any help/support at all would be greatly appreciated!!

This could be two separate cases. The wireless devices are no longer able to connect possibly due to interfering signal in the area the you need to avoid. Try changing the wireless channel to 6, 9, 11, and 1. The second case could be a cable problem or a setting with the Smart TV. Use a different cable to plug the Smart TV to your router. Check other wired devices if they're working with the router too.

  • Devices cannot connect to Wi-Fi

I have a Mac Pro that has a direct connection to the internet via ethernet cable. Attached to the Mac Pro is an Airport Extreme base station that provides Wi-Fi for other devices in the house. Everything was working more or less perfectly. Then I had to disassemble the system so some contractors could repaint my home office. Now that I've reassembled everything, I'm having trouble with the Wi-Fi (though the Mac Pro's internet connection via ethernet cable directly into the modem seems to be just fine).
My iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Air all show that they are connected to my Wi-Fi network. If you check the settings of all the devices, there is a check mark next to the name of my Wi-Fi network. And all the devices show the Wi-Fi connection with 3 full bars. But if you try to go online, nothing happens for a while except that the 'spinning circle' next to the Wi-Fi icon starts moving...and then I eventually get a dialog box with an error stating "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding".
If I go to System Preferences>Network on my Mac Pro, it shows that Ethernet 1, Ethernet 2 and Wi-Fi are all connected.  Wi-Fi says "Wi-Fi is connected to (Name of my network) and has the IP address X.X.X.X". And it shows, as the Network Name, the name of my wireless network.
I've tried everythign I know to try. I've shut down my devices. I've cycled the modem. I've had the devices 'Forget This Network' so that I could go back and re-enter the password. But everytime I try to connect to the internet with my devices that *should* be connected to my Wi-Fi network, nothing happens, and I get this message about "the server stopped responding".
The only thing I can guess is that I have not reassembled all my devices correctly. For my modem: the power cord is connected to the outlet, the DSL cable is connected to the DSL filter at the telephone jack, and the ethernet cable goes from the modem directly into the ethernet port #1 on the back of my Mac Pro. For my Airport Extreme base station: the power cord is connected to the outlet, the ethernet cable is connected to the left-most ethernet port (with the circle above it) on the back of the Airport Extreme which then goes directly to ethernet port #2 on the back of my Mac Pro.
    What am I missing here?

I wasn't getting any replies here, so I solved the problem by going out and purchasing Time Capsule. I needed the storage space anyway.

  • WRT54G - some devices CANNOT connect - incorrect password

Desktop mac & macbook pro connect fine, iphone 4S connects fine and one kindle fire, but my dell inspiron notebook, xbox 360 and other kindle fire can never connect.  they recognize the network, and prompt me for the password but when i enter it it is always "incorrect."  i changed the password once and it hasn't made a different.  have not reset router, since the other devices connect just fine. it's driving me absolutely bonkers!

The wireless password is case sensitive. You’ll just have to make sure that you are typing it in correctly. You can try to add the network instead if connecting to it manually does not work. Reset is what I see as the last option for you to make sure that the router will work properly for other devices. You have to take note though that the router model you have is an older version and a firmware update is needed. You can still download the firmware online and select the correct hardware version which you can verify on the sticker at the bottom side of the router. Go to this link: http://support.linksys.com/en-us/support/routers/WRT54G.

  • Issue with Android devices - cannot connect to Fac...

    Good morning.
I have an issue with android phones and a tablet not being able to connect to Facebook etc on our home wifi.  Everything works on other wifi and the signal strength is good.
Did get it to work for an hour after a pin reset, but that did not last.
An hour on the phone to BT help yesterday, set the channel to 2.4ghz but that made no difference and no more ideas from BT it seems.
Was told by the BT man not to do a pin reset as it wears out the router, apparently.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Why can I not make any in app purchases?  The two games I have tried are game of war fire age and candy crush.  They both tell me that my device cannot connect to iTunes.  I've tried on my iPhone 5s as well as my iPad mini2.

I've tried restarting both devices, I've reinstalled the apps, I've reset both devices, I've logged out and back in, and I've tried on both wifi and cellular.  Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I have purchased other apps and music on iTunes since the problem started.
