Multiple dmz hosts? ps3+xbox360

Hi!
I'm having difficulties in setting multiple dmz hosts. Both my ps3 and my xbox 360 require me to set them as the dmz host. However, in the router's settings page, there's only one space for ip entry to enable dmz. Thus far, my only solution has been to access the page everytime i want to play on xbox live or playstation network. Is there a better way? Am I missing something?
Thank you!

got it all figured out, thanks for all your help!

  • Multiple DMZ on WRT54GL?

Can i have multiple DMZ's to open all ports to my servers?
    My LAN configuration:
Broadband Modem > Router > TWO workgroup switches > all computers
I've been using port range forwarding (only gives you 10 spaces), and i'm using up 7 of them now. Xbox 360 alone takes 3 spaces to open its required ports.
I have many servers, and currently all ports are open, but if i expand again, i'll be hammered with no room to open the ports.
My servers have manually configured IP addresses: xxx.xxx.x.146-148.
If there was an option to open a range for DMZ or to forward all ports to a range, that would be splendid. Not sure if its possible, but if there's no multiple DMZ options, could i use the port range forwarding and open all ports using that? as in typing the beginning port to end port on both TCP and UDP? EX: Port 20 - 80000 BOTH IP 146 Enable  < not sure what the lowest port and highest ports are lol.
If its not clear enough, let me know and i'll try to clarify the best i can.
    Thanks in advance,

    Solved!

actually, the Tomato firmware upgrade did solve my issue. the port settings on that particular firmware is so much more advanced and much easier to open ports, since i can open a range of ports, plus an aditional port with just one entry, rather than using multiple lines to open a set of ports.
For example: for my xbox, it requires ports 80-88, 53, and 5093 open on the xbox's ip address. so all i did was type in "80-88,53,5093" and typed the ip for the xbox on that one line, and it opened all the specified ports. So now instead of using 3 entries for my xbox, now i only use one. As for the servers, many programs that required 2 or 3 entries now only need 1 entry, to open all the same ports.
That firmware solved all of my headaches. It is much more advanced, so it requires a higher knowledge of networking, but that isnt a problem for me.
After posting this, i checked "Solved" on his post. I appreciate the response, but i dont understand port forwarding, since why would i want to forward a port? Incoming traffic to port 8767 (Teamspeak2 server) forwarded to a different port wouldnt work, since Teamspeak uses port 8767, and incoming traffic is the same. What would i do? Have incoming traffic use port 8458 and my server runing on port 8767 so it gets forwarded to the same port? i dont know how that works, if you could explain that would be super for future reference.

  • Multiple Relay Host question

In the GWIA settings under SMTP/MIME, the "Relay Host for outbound messages" we have the address for a Cisco Ironport c170 that filters our messages.
We want to add another Ironport for failover. If I add a second IP, can this be prioritized so the 2nd unit will only be used if the 1st is down?
What logic will/might be used when a second relay host is used?
Am I approaching this right or should I plan to let it send from either relay host?
Thank you for any help you can offer.

    I Like that answer!!!
On the Public side we are going to have different priorities on the MX Records.
I would prefer that One Ironport get all the messages, but realize they both most likely will.
We Quarantine all messages with attachments and manually release them "if" the recipient calls us to let us know they were expecting the message or know he sender.
So I assume we will have to check both Ironports to see which did the quarantine.
We will be using the Ironport Centralized Management to keep the two Ironport configurations the same.
If you have any recommendations or tips, Please share.
    Thank You

the first IP is always used until it fails.

  • Load balancing of PIX firewalls with multiple DMZs

I need a suggestion about how to balance the traffic through two PIX firewalls, with 4 interfaces (IN,OUT,DMZ1,DMZ2)
In all the documentation related to the subject, I see always the firewalls with only two interfaces:
    http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/117/fw_load_balancing.html
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/webscale/css/advcfggd/firewall.htm
What if I need to balance on more than 2 interfaces?
Do I have to add more content switches, one for each interface ?
Or could I use VLANs inside the same content switches, and assign the ports to DMZs appropriately ?
Thank you in advance for any help.

We just had some internal discussions about that at my work, and the suggestion from a local cisco specialist was, if you want to levarage load balacing over multiple DMZ's, then you get the CSS blades for the 65xx's. Right now we have mulriple CSS and LD failover pairs (One pair for each DMZ) and it is starting to become expensive, while we aren't really utilizing the full capacity of them. If you get the Blades, they have Gigabit traces to the backplane of the switch, and you can use them for as many poers as you have on the 6500.
Then again, it depends on if physical security is essential to you, and you are concerned with L2 attacks (VLAN Hopping, etc) There are tradeoffs and benefits when using a consildated infrastructure.

  • Oracle Portal Virtual Host Enhacement for Multiple Virtual Hosts

I open the TAR Number: 4326752.996
The TAR is related to " REQUEST ASSISTANCE FOR MULTIPLE VIRTUAL HOSTS AND MULTIPLE PAGE GROUPS CONFIG. "
This is the Scenario: We Have Oracle Portal installed in a single Box. yes I know I know... but Not everybody is Yahoo or Google for Clusters and all the good stuff, we just want our website managed by Oracle Portal since all our ERP is running Oracle Database. Anyway. 1 Box running Oracle Portal Infrastructure and MidTier.
It turns out that our previous configuration we have the LAMP Solution with PHP, Apache with Virtual Servers configuration very trivial for a regular web server however we have about 6 Virtual domains.
    For example:
    www.abc.com
    www.def.com
    www.ghi.com
    www.jkl.com
    www.mno.com
    www.pqr.com
We also like to post all our Intranet Information in this great Portal:
    http://intranet.com
Where intranet.com is the same server but setup in our Internal DNS without be a Real Internet Register Domain.
So bottom line we start doing great with Install our single box install, later [GRRRRRR does not come by default in port 80 GRRRRRR, ok need to move and setup the virtual host to resolve our main External website www.abc.com ]
For starters ok it worked we have our main website running Oracle Portal.
Now is time to go to the step number 2.
Setup another Page Group in Portal to be the Page_Group_INTERNAL.
I figure if Apache can setup Virtual Hosts pointing to Independent parts of the File System without be shared. I was expecting some kind of custom configuration where I can setup httpd.conf to point to some specific PageGroups to make sure
    www.abc.com => Page_Group_External
    never share information with:
    intranet.com => Page_Gorup_Internal
My TAR was very quick closed with the Argument that is not what It supposed to do.
Since a virtual host is a common thing to do on Linux and Apache, I wonder if You guys could list this as one of the default features to have multiple virtual domains assosiated with Page Groups that they never talk or share Resources I think that would be really great.
In the mean time I guess we have no option but to put a password for every internal page or take the risk of share our Information to the Internet. Perhaps designate another box with Oracle Portal but In that case Is not really cost/bennefit to use a killer technology for our external site since we just have no more than 30 pages.
Anyway just figure drop you guys a note any advise will be really appreciated.
    Best Regards Dino.

    Hi Martin,
    1. To change the target URL of KM resources you can to the following:
Access the URL Generation Service Configuration by navigating to:
System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Configuration
Content Management -> Global Services -> URL Generator Service
Change the Host property to "portal.company.com".
    2. You change the Port by opening the Visual Administrator and going to : Dispatcher -> Services -> HTTP Provider
Change there the "Ports" entry from (Port:50000,Type:http)to (Port:80,Type:http). Then go on "Save".
    3. To remove the "/irj" from the portal URL you can create a index.jsp with the following content, and save it in the J2EE Documentation folder:
    <Drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\JC<J2EE_instance_number>\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.engine.docs.examples\servlet_jsp\_default\root
    <%
//Send the redirect using server redirection (not client script)
//This will also send the HTTP GET parameters
    String queryString = request.getQueryString() ;
    if (queryString==null ) {
    response.sendRedirect
    ("irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default") ;
} else {//redirect with HTTP GET parameters
    response.sendRedirect
    ("irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default?" + queryString) ;
    %>
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

  • Multiple destination hosts in route.cfg for single domain

    GW 8.0.2
We have route.cfg set up to send mail for some destination domains direct instead of through the default relay.
One of the destination domains we want to add to route.cfg has multiple MX hosts they can receive mail on.
Is it possible to add multiple host IP addresses for a single destination domain in route.cfg?
    for example:
abc.com has mail receivers with MX records:
    abc.com 3600 IN MX 9 10.0.0.25
    abc.com 3600 IN MX 2 10.0.1.25
    abc.com 3600 IN MX 2 10.0.2.25
    abc.com 3600 IN MX 9 10.0.3.25
    - is there a way to put all those into route.cfg for abc.com for resilience?
As I've read that route.cfg works in a similar manner to the hosts file, would a space separted list of IP addresses work?

unless it has been changed, no
You get to list one and only one entry. No load balancing, no failover.

  • OCS 10g - Does it support multiple domain hosting

    Hi,
We have installed OCS 10g for a domain university.edu
Now, It provides only two available domains as local domains. ie, university.edu and .edu
I would like to add some more sub domains (at least one more) such as college.university.edu to be a local domain in OCS for which it should accept emails.
It this simple feature of multiple domain hosting supported in OCS.
Kindly let us know some tips for it.
    Many thanks in advance.
    maas.

I configured the domain about 2 years ago, so I have to go and look in my archive (which is at the office, I will not be there before the end of next week).
The setup has 2 top level domains (one is .nl and one is .com). Under .nl about 4 domains are running, under .com only 1. If I remember corretly issues did raise with files. Calendar and mail are running as expected. This is on a 9.0.4 release though (not a OCS 10 R1 or R2). I did read loads of articles and had to patch even more. Luckily I printed all articles I read, so I can lookup the exect document numbers. If you can wait until next week, I can help you out.

  • DMZ hosts are not comminicating each other.

    Dear All,
I have a problem with my DMZ nodes communication. When i try to ping each other getting only one reply and then drops. What can be the issue ?
Same security intra interface is enable.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Shijo.

Without seeing the configuration, I would go through the following checklist:
1- Can you ping both DMZ hosts from the ASA?
2- Is the ASA DMZ interface address set as default GW on DMZ hosts?
3- Do you have any filtering/security enabled on your DMZ switch?
4- Do you see the target host's MAC address in the ARP table of the source host?

Web is stupidly easy - Apache has extensive support for multiple virtual hosts in a single server and will happily support as many domains/hostnames as you can throw at it.
Mail is a little trickier since it needs to hook into some kind of directory server to validate user addresses.
Mac OS X's Open Directory does support this, but it's a little cumbersome (basically every user has to exist in the main Open Directory domain as well as having a secondary email address(es) in the other domain(s).
This can get especially tricky when you have users with the same shortname in different domains - for example if you give [email protected] a secondary email address of [email protected] and you then get a new user [email protected], you can't give the third 'joe' the address 'joe' in Open Directory since that's already taken. This means he'll have to login using different credentials from his email address. Confused yet? You bet.
If you're prepared to eschew Open Directory you can just use Postfix's built-in support for virtual hosting, but it's a little more complex to setup and support and is entirely command-line based (i.e. there's no GUI for setting it up or supporting it).
So, for that reason you might be prepared to setup multiple virtual machines for each domain. It really depends on how much the domains are related (if at all).

  • Multiple virtual host impacting performance

Is there a performance issue with relation to the number of virtual hosts
which one server is hosting? If there is, how many can an average server

  • Multiple domains hosted on one OSX Server

    Hi guys,
Does anyone know if it is possible to host more than one domain name on OSX server?
A client of mine runs a number of businesses and is considering Snow Leopard Server, and wants to have multiple email domains and websites hosted on one server. Also per-account contacts sync and calendar sync would be useful, does anyone know if that's available?
    Thanks!
    W.

You can certainly host multiple domains on Mac OS X Server. There are a few options depending on how you want it to work.
If all the usernames are the same across all domains (e.g. [email protected] is the same person as [email protected]) then just change the mail server configuration to match all the domains in the mydestination parameter in /etc/postfix/main.cf.
If the domains are different (e.g. [email protected] is not the same account as [email protected]) then you have two options - one is to use the postfix model (which requires command-line management), the other is to add the email addresses in the shortname section for each user.
You may have some issues integrating contacts and calendars, though - if you take the postfix model then the users won't exist in Open Directory and won't have a calendar/contact link, etc.
If you follow the shortname model then you have one directory with all users in all domains and you'll need to work to separate them out if you need to.

  • Corrupted wiki list with multiple virtual host

    Hello,
I have several virtual hosts and I want each of them to only list of wikis which are associated with them using the Wiki Admin Settings -> Advanced : Specific Host Names.
This does not seem to work. As soon as a wiki is associated to a specific virtual host it disappears from the list of wiki (http://hostname/groups/) (on all virtual hosts actually). The wiki itself can still be accessed by its explicit address: http:/hostname/groups/wikiname
    If I manually edit the sql3 file directoryIndex.db in /Library/Application Support/Apple/WikiServer
and replace the specific host name by "*", the wiki reappears in the wiki list but on ALL virtual host. Still it remains accessible only in the one designated in the wiki Settings.
Most frustrating. Any workaround ? Seems like a bug but the wiki implementation being so convoluted I am not completely sure.
    Any help ?

R3, BI  is having different gateway hosts and and services, but in EP ->sld->datasupplier we have option to give only one gateway host and service. so i can able to conect to only one backend system at a time(either r3 or bi).
My req is to connect both the servers at a time. idont have knowledge on standalone gateways. could you  send me the related document and help me out to resolve my issue

As you see above, config has ACL that allows traffic from Internet to DMZ and has static NAT.  The hosts in DMZ are still not accessible.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Paresh.

    Hi,
    For Inside to internet:
you have no global( outside) as well as nat(inside) configured.
    nat(inside) 1 0 0
    global(outside) 1 interface
For second part, I see no problem in the config, is it not working?
    Regards.

  • OSX Server 10.6.3 - (Multiple) Website hosting via Server Admin

Has anyone else experienced/had this problem? I am posting this hear in hopes that someone else has experienced this as well and may know how to correct/resolve this problem.
We currently have purchased a collaboration software I have installed and I am running via OSX. The files are stored in /Library/WebServer/Documents/collab. OSX comes with a default website built in at /Library/WebServer/Documents. I intend to install the collab website in anticipation of adding more sites in the future and possibly utilizing the default OSX web services as well. I have set up our internal DNS server to route collab.company.com to the internal ip address of our OSX server. The default OSX webpage is currently hosted on port 80, I am running our collab site on port 8x (we are already hosting websites on a different server on port 80, and the router can only forward port requests to a single ip address).
With this configuration, if I enter the address of collab.company.com, I get the default OSX server running on port 80. If I enter collab.company.com/collab, I then get our collab website (on port 8x). Essentially I want collab.company.com to open the collab website, not the OSX website. What is odd is, it seems that if I uncheck the default OSX webpage in server admin and disable it, change the collab site to port 80 as a test and go to collab.company.com I get a failed connection that the site is down or doesn't exist, like it is offline. It seems almost as if OSX is completely shutting down the entire directory of /Library/WebServer/Documents which is where the collab website exits inside of (Documents/collab). If I re-enable the default OSX website, then both websites become live again.
So I guess my question is, is there a different structure/architecture that should be followed to prevent this behaviour? If so, how do I get multiple websites installed and configured properly in server admin to respond to their appropriate dns requests. I also forgot to mention for my collab site entry in server admin I have the host name in the general tab as collab.company.com, as well as the alias collab.company.com, but when I enter collab.company.com I am getting the default OSX site.

I agree, this seems to make sense in theory, but here is the result I am getting.
I have my internal (not my osx server) dns server containing a host entry of collab.company.com = 192.168.1.xx. I have a virtual host entry in OSX in the aliases area (correct?) of collab.company.com for my collab site. However, whenever I enter the url in my browser of collab.company.com, I keep getting the default Mac OSX Server website page. I even put an alias in the OSX server site of mainpage to try and differenciate it, but it doesn't seem to take or matter.
So once again, in theory I think "oh, just uncheck the enable button next to the default OSX website", I uncheck it, and then both of my websites are offline, or appear to be? For my collab site, the link redirects, but I get the error page.
    Safari:
    Not Found
The requested URL /collab/public/index.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2.2.14 (Unix) PHP/5.3.1 Server at collab.company.com Port 80
    Google Chrome:
Oops! This link appears to be broken.
Thing is, I even changed my collab site to be running on port 80 as well as a test. I check enable for my osx default page, and they are both back online. If I change the default osx sites port to say 87 or something, and leave the collab at 80, I then get the same bad request messages etc. If I put the osx site back to port 80, they both work.
