Multiple entries for the same company.

Anybody out there have any idea how to enter multiple entries for the same company in Mail without having to enter all information every time for each individual. This was a very basic feature in MS Outlook. Possibly a workaround if not an option within Mail? Thanks.

Select a card with the details on it, and Edit/Copy /Edit/Paste (Command-C Command-V). Now edit one of the cards with the new individual's details. If starting from scratch, create a company card with no personal information and duplicate it as needed.

They are all different. Hover your mouse pointer over each of the "Content Type" descriptions and you should see a "tooltip" to see that each has a different description.
You need to update your plugins. It is important to keep them updated due to continuing security fixes and improvements in those plug-ins:

I want to create a mail merge for address labels into a table, but when I fill a table with merge fields, it ends up creating multiple entries for the same address, rather than one table full of each address.

Multiple entries for the same genre in iPod, but iTunes is fine

In the Genre list in my iPod, there are several copies of a few genres -- for example, there are like 4 or 5 "Dance" entries under Genres.
Each duplicate genre contains the same songs, and the total number of songs in my iPod matches iTunes. So why there are there multiple Genre entries, and how can I get rid of them?

A spelling or punctuation mistake, or sometimes a trailing space usually causes this after the artists and/or song/genre name, which fools the iPod into thinking that there are two different artists or songs/genres. The trailing space is the hardest to spot.
Best way to cure this is to go into iTunes, highlight that artist and/or songs, right click on them and select "get info".
This brings up the multiple song info window. If you see the "artist" field (or in your case, the genre field) is left blank, then there is a discrepancy with that name.
So to correct this, in the artist or song box retype the name, as you would like it, and then click ok. You should do this even if no mistakes are immediately visible.
Re sync this new artist/song info to your iPod.

When importing my address book from Outlook why do I have multiple entries for the same contact?

I have an address book and it contains one list in Outlook. I just downloaded Thunderbird and imported my address book. The address book and one list imported very easily but there are anywhere from 3-5 entries for each person in my contacts. If I delete the extras they are removed from my list as well. Why are there multiple listings for each contact and how can I remove the duplicates without losing my list entries?

Depends on where you saw them - If they were in the iPhoto library iPHoto has either two or three different versions (no duplicates) or each photos in its library - this is not optional and can not be changed -- If they were not in the iPhoto library then you can do what you please with them and they have nothing to do with iPhoto - iPhoto is only involved with the photos in its library
2. Why is it advised to NEVER make changes to the structure or contents of iPhoto in Finder?

Very simple - if you do you will destroy your iPhoto library and have to start over losing all work you have done in iPhoto - The iPHoto library is a SQLite database and there are NO user servicable parts in the iPhoto library and any changes made using teh finder will corrupt the database and cause dataloss

When I add a bookmark, I get hundreds of multiple entries for the same bookmark in the recently added bookmark folder and bookmark tab. Fix?

Adding a bookmark results in 100's of entries for that bookmark on the bookmark tab and in the recently added bookmark folder. The only way to remove them is to click and delete each separate entry? Any idea of what's going on or how to fix it? Thanks.

Note that it is always best to disconnect from Sync while performing maintenance to the places.sqlite file or otherwise do repairing efforts from within Firefox.

Multiple Faces for the same person

When tagging photos there are multiple entries for the same person listed. In particular for three people (my kids) who have a lot of photos for each person. On the Cork board there is only one entry per person, so this is not a multiple face entry there.
I was living with this for a while, but now I have my iPhone and can sync faces photos with it, I can see again there are multiple entries listed for these three people, yet there's nothing I can do in iPhoto to consolidate them.
Has anyone else come across this (like the person in the above thread - which didn't get answered) and found a solution to fix up iPhoto? Clearly it's something odd going on in the Faces database thinking there are different entries tagged, but is still showing them together in the Cork Board.

I would like to know how you got the multiple entries to appear. I'm having the same problem with my daughter. The only issue is, she is two and does not have any address book entries. I think I may have typed her name out several times when adding her name to a face instead of associating the photo with the existing entry. iPhoto recognizes they are the same places in some places, but not in others. I started a new post...

WebTools Creating multiple users for the same User

I had to make a few changes to a BP in SAP which will synch back into WebTools but now I am getting multiple users for the same contact. For example my user is cspehar_1 now in Webtools there are cspehar_1, cspehar_2, cspehar_3 and so on up to _8.
This is occuring for several users in webtools.
What causes this and how do I fix it?

Hi Craig,
There are two ways to cause this that I am aware of:
1. Change the "Business Partner Synch Contacts Field" setting after the initial synch.
2. Change the Web UserID on the BP contact in B1 (OCPR.U_PRX_SID).
After that, update the user in WT and synch. (might also happen if you update the BP in B1)
Since the synch is using the OCPR.U_PRX_SID to identify the contact, it will not be able to find it in B1 if the U_PRX_SID has changed. When it does not find it, it assumes it needs to be created. This results in a duplicate.
The solution is to reset the U_PRX_SID back to what it was or set the synch contact field back to what it was.
Then delete the last created duplicate contact from B1.
There may be further data corruption issues here. If orders/quotes/opportunities or other dependant data has synchronized referencing the duplicate user, these data will need to be correct as well.
FYI, whatever caused this was probably at the root of your order problem as well.

Multiple DEVL_PROJECT_ID for the same model in CZ_DEVL_PROJECTS Table.

Did anyone came across this issue!! I am triggering the config engine from back and and trying to pick up a model but it has multiple devl_project_id's. :(
I could see multiple DEVL_PROJECT_ID for the same model in CZ_DEVL_PROJECTS Table. Apart from DEVL_PROJECT_ID and created_by_date every thing looks the same.

It can be possible to have multiple devl_project_id for the same model in cz_devl_projects Table.
Case -1 : When you delete the existing model and re-import again.
case 2:
When you publish the model locally, it will create the same copy of the record with different devl_project_id, creation_date, last update_date etc..\
You can see that for published records the last_updat_login, checkout_user will be null and for the original model, last_update_login,checkout_user (if model is locked) will not be null.

Multiple alerts for the same Message ID

Hi
I have configured outbound ftp adapter. I have configured alerts inorder to capture any error in the adapter engine.
Now,alert is triggered showing an error in the ftp adapter ( say incorrect ftp details). But i get multiple alerts for the same message ID several times. I have also set the parameter Max No od Delvs to 1 in the ALRTCATDEF transaction.
I keep getting the same alert number of times a day. How can i restrict the number of alerts to 1 for 1 message ID.

In my scenario i would need an alert per Message. That is the reason why I have not checked the option "Supress Multiple Alerts" since it would allow only alert per rule.
Is there is any way we can get one alert per message.
Also, after correcting the eror in the file adapter will the file which was not placed due to error in the adapter be placed automatically. I wanted to know what would happen to the lost file or unprocessed file since it dint reach the destination due to error.

Multiple HighlightPainters for the same JEditorPane

Hey Everyone,
I'm having a problem having highligts of multiple colors for the same text component.
Basically I have a set of results in a separate panel for a search on the text in a JEditorPane. I want the text corresponding to all the search results to be highlighted one color as soon as the search is done, and when one specific search result is clicked on, have the highlight for that result's text change to a different color.
My current implementation is trying to do this by setting highlights for all the search results, and then when a result is clicked on, setting another highlight with another highlight painter of a different color. Unfortunately, this causes only the second higlight color to be displayed, even though when I look at the editorpane's highlights i can see all of them are being stored.
Is there something I'm misunderstanding about Highlights?

How to avoid multiple session for the same username

I need suggestions on implementing single user login , like My system has a user with a username jdavid and my application should not allow two different sessions for the same username jdavid , can one session peep into all other session
to see if the any has a usernaem jdavid, I am basically looking for some pattern if any available for restricting multiple session for the same username . like jaas or any other security api provides this ?

Store a Map<User, HttpSession> in application scope and let your application intercept on that. On login, just check if the User is already there, then get the associated HttpSession, invalidate it and replace it by the current HttpSession, else just store the current User-HttpSession pair in the map. On logout obviously remove the User-HttpSession pair from the map.

Multiple address for the same customer code

Hi,
Suppose we have a customer name XYZ LTD whose sap code is 123.
Now user want to maintain multiple addresses for the same customer in the same code.So that during billing he can have option to chose one of the address in which he want to sent the invoice.
Is it posible if yes then let me know.

adresses. You can create certain partner roles several times.
If you create a purchase order, than you can choose the wanted
address and partnerrole on the header level. In the standard system you
can use the patner role 'OA' ordering address and for the finance
the 'IP' Invoice presented by.

Events cannot have multiple exceptions for the same date

I just starting getting this message and could not sync to one of my Google calendars. I'm posting this for others who might get the same problem.
I didn't find the answer on these forums but did find it on this thread on Google:

I've been having the same problem with my iCal calendars and the "Events cannot have multiple exceptions for the same date" error. Once it gets going, it uses up a lot of the CPU and resources. After reinstalling iCal, all my calendars were missing and I could not even resubscribe to them.
I took my MacBook Pro to the Apple Store, and they were able to solve the problem by moving some of the iCal files from their existing folders out to the desktop, and reopening the program. That got it working, however, now I'm having the same problem again. So back to square one. Anyone else having this issue and know the cause?
My setup is my MacBook Pro uses Entourage, use that calendar in my iCal. And I subscribe to two calendars my wife publishes on her Macbook. We're both using Snow Leopard.
