Multiple extensions on SPA 525g2

Hi Guys,
We do have Cisco SPA 525g2 configured with 3 extensions. Line 1 works perfectly just fine (no issue at all). But with the use of the OTHER LINES, i can't seem to make it work. Registrations seems to be fine, audio works for a few times at first but after that no audio at all. I do have tried resetting it to factory default and set it up again but no changes.
On Line 1, the audio works but the rest of the line have no audio.
Any advise??? Please help.

Little confused still by this, just want to make sure I'm clear. My current set up with Asterisk is you make users which are extensions, and then enable voicemail on them, so for example:
Extension 300 - Voicemail enabled
Extension 301 - Voicemail enabled
Extension 302 - No Voicemail
Etc. And it's there that you set the username/password for each extension. So on a SIP phone, under Line 1 registration I'd have it register Extension 300, and line 2 could register Extension 301 and so on. If someone calls extension 300, line 1 rings and if no answer goes to the voicemail box for 300. If someone calls Extension 301, then line 2 on the phone rings and if no answer goes to voicemail for Line 2.
I do understand what you mean how each phone is it's own "User", and so the way I have it set up now is my 7970 is my user, and it has Extension 300 with voicemail assigned to Button 1 which works fine.
I just simply need a way so that Extension 301 shows up on Button 2 on the phone, so that I can select that line to make an outbound call (with a different caller ID), and if someone calls Extension 301, then that line on my phone with also ring, BUT will go to the voicemail box for 301. I don't need my 7970 to light up that there's a vm or anything like that, it just needs to capture the vm.
If I make a floating extension or extension mobility for a new user with extension 301 and enable voicemail, then calling 301 does go to its voicemail box, but I'm just not sure how I would have that show up on my 7970 as line 2 and ring on there and make outbound calls on there as well. SPA-525G2 Multicast/Speed Dial Issue

One of our customers reported some severe issues after we placed a speed dial button on their attendant consoles for their multicast paging group. Whenever they received an incoming call or placed an outgoing call, both streams of audio would play through the multicast group. Removing the speed dial button resolved the issue, however they are still requesting that particular feature.
I've reproduced the issue in a lab setting, using two 525G2s and one 504G, all with attendant consoles. The paging group is using 239.123.123.121, port 10000, number 1150 and the speed dial button can be placed on the phone or on the attendant console. I previously used 224.123.123.121, port 60000, but tried a combination of port/address changes that were inneffective. Initially I was using firmware version 7.4.8, but then upgraded to 7.4.9a, then to 7.4.9c, but this did not alleviate the issue.
As it stands, the issue will NOT present itself until the paging speed dial button is first used after either a reboot or a resync. The issue does not occur if the paging group is dialed directly and it only seems to happen on the SPA-525G2. The 504G will not activate multicast under these circumstances.
After the button is used, any incoming call will cause the 525s to multicast packets, even if the call is just ringing and not being answered. Conversely, simply engaging the line by picking up the handset or pressing the speakerphone button will activate multicast.
Has anyone come across this issue previously? I've searched the forum and Google, but haven't found any information thus far.

Have same exact issue with 525G2 + sidecar on 7.4.9c firmware. Problem only occurs if Page soft key or Page speed dial key is set up for page. Problem does not happen on 525G2 without a sidecar. Page uses multicast IP and Port to their lines in the page group. After using the button, every subsequent inbound and outbound call is multicast to all members of the page group. Pretty nasty issue.

SPA 525G2 / SPA509G German Character missing ä,ö,ü

Hello Cummunity.
Our SPA 509G and SPA 525G2 doens't display the german character ä, ö and ü. The Personal Addressbook looks like this:
"PersÄ¶önliche Kurzwahl" insted of "Persönliche Kurzwahl".
Installation was done with CCA.
How do i fix that ?

I saw on the download section of the SPA525G2 that there is another file to download called IP Phones DictionariesSPA_IPPHONE_Dictionary_7.5.4.zip. Should i download and install that too on the UC ?

Is it posible to package multiple extensions in single mxp file?

I am trying to figure out how to package multiple extensions into a single file. I am creating extenstions for my elearning instructional designers who use DW CS4. I want to save them the hassle of installing each extension 1 at a time. It will also be great for maintenance purposes. I know joomla has been able to achieve this.

Yes, of you look at your mxi file, where it says files, for your last entry in the destination direct to a new folder (the extension manager will create it for you if it does not exist).
The extensions that you create will be shown in this new folder.
Add all the files for your extension (suite) to this one mxi file.

Safari 5 for windows with multiple extensions installed crashing

I installed Safari 5 on my Windows PC running XP PRO with SP3 ; I also had Firefox installed and was using multiple extensions and add ons there. After using Safari 5 for a day or so I installed a number of extensions. Two were also installed on Firefox; Feedly and LastPass; no idea if this has anything to do with anything.
Shortly after this I started having problems with both Firefox and Safari crashing. Eventually uninstalled Firefox until I got Safari stable but I haven't been able to do that . It's still crashing every 30 " or so, sometimes more often. The error message says "Safari has encountered an unexpected difficulty and needs to close." When I click on the "Details" link it says Error Signature App name Safari.exe

Can anyone give me some advice? I hate to uninstall the extensions only to find out that's not the problem.

MareksGreg here was getting symptoms that sounded a bit like Hedi's (Flash not working):
10 minutes earlier I was thinking about this and I tried to uninstall 2 of 3 extensions I got.
I uninstalled "Sessions" and "Awesome Screenshots". And it worked.
I think that the update for extensions I did last week occurred this problem not the extensions themselves.
Now I installed both of extensions back and everything is alright, like ebfore.
It looks like an extension-related problem is likely to cause a user-account-specific problem too.

Can skype be used for multiple extensions off one ...

In a small office is it possible to create a network of phones with their own extension numbers using skype or some hardware/software?
Forgive me if this is an obvious question but Im new to this and can't find simple answers online!
Im looking to have one number that customers call from skype and normal phonelines (a skype number), whereby they get through to a recorded message "press 1 for Bob, press 2 for Jill" etc and the call can then be routed to the appropriate phone.
I'd also like it to be possible to recieve multiple calls at the same time i.e. both Bob and Jill could be making and recieving calls at the same time, and when their extension is busy calls are diverted to their personal voicemail instead.
Is this possible to do using skype?
I'd ideally like to have one bill and be able to change the recorded options whenever staff change, with up to 8 extensions.
Im currently costing up options of services like Skype versus traditional phone services, and as we're a small business keeping costs down is essential. Any help/advice is really appreciated.

Multiple Extension in Filter Finder Items

Does anyone know how to make Filter Finder Items filter for more than one extension? For example, if I want to make a script filter for MOV, AVI, and WMV?

Well, it sure would be nice if the filter action would do that for you directly, but since it doesn't there are a few alternatives. You can use a Run AppleScript action to do the filters, a Run Shell Script action to do the filters, or use a bunch of Automator actions that do each of the specific filters and combine the individual results:
Tested workflow:
1) Ask for Finder Items (Type: Files, Allow Multiple Selection, Ignore Input)
2) Set Value of Variable (Variable: Source Items) -- store the original items
3) Filter Finder Items (Whose: Name Extension is equal to mov)
4) Set Value of Variable (Variable: MOV items) -- store filtered MOV items
5) Get Value of Variable (Variable: Source Items, Ignore Input)
6) Filter Finder Items (Whose: Name Extension is equal to avi)
7) Set Value of Variable (Variable: AVI items) -- store filtered AVI items
8) Get Value of Variable (Variable: Source Items, Ignore Input)
9) Filter Finder Items (Whose: Name Extension is equal to wmv)
10) Get Value of Variable (Variable: MOV items, Accept Input) -- add the previous filtered items
11) Get Value of Variable (Variable: AVI items, Accept Input) -- add the previous filtered items
12) View Results (or continue with the rest of the workflow)
Note that the Accept/Ignore Input item will let you combine or isolate the action from the results of the previous one.

UC320w SPA 525g2 background image

Does anyone know how you can add your own custom background image to the spa525g2? Before upgrading to the uc320w the spa9000 let you easily log into the spa525g2 web interface and downloand an image for you screen, now with the uc320w that part is grayed out and unavailable for change. Don't know why this seems to be so difficult. If anyone has a way to download an image to this phone to use a your main screen please let me know. Thanks

Just got back from cisco tech here are the steps in case anyone is interested in how to upload a picture via usb to the spa525 or spa525g2
If you are going to use a picture from the USB memory device, perform the
following steps:
STEP 1 Connect a USB storage device to your PC.
STEP 2 Create a directory named “pictures” on the USB device and copy the image files
into that directory. Image files must be between 30K and 300K in size. The phone
can only read 45 images from the USB device.
STEP 3 Remove the USB device from your PC and insert it into the USB slot on the Cisco
SPA 525G/525G2.
To change the background picture on your phone:
STEP 1 Press the Setup button.
STEP 2 Scroll to User Preferences and press Select.
STEP 3 Scroll to Screen Preferences and press Select.
STEP 4 Scroll to Wallpaper. Press the Right Arrow key to select an image to use as the
wallpaper.
STEP 5 Use the navigation arrows to choose an image. Press Select to choose the image,
or to preview how the image will look on your phone, select the image and press
View. Press Select to choose the image, or use the Previous, Next, and Back keys.
STEP 6 Press Save.

How to hide (not disable) one or multiple extension(s) in Add-ons Manager?

I have installed Play Music 1.6 on my computer. However, this extension shows up in the Add-ons Manager of my computer. I don't want anyone to be able to see the description nor disable this extension. My nephews use my computer frequently and I want to make sure they are not going to inappropriate websites.

Note that you still see the extension on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page and that starting in Safe mode will disable it like all other extensions (i.e. starting with Shift pressed is sufficient).

Videos will not play, even after updating multiple extensions

So, I've had this problem for a couple of days. I believe it has to do with the most recent up date to flash as I did not have this problem before and unfortunately I do not know how to undo what's been done. The video remains black, seemingly no matter what I do.
Here's what I've done so far:
Updated the flash player plugin
Updated Realplayer
Tried safemode, turning off add-ons
Turn on and off extensions
Deleting firefox, and all of it's data, and then reinstalling
I also troubleshooted compatibility and am running firefox on Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
So I don't know what to do any more, also, when ever I'm on the tab with the video the little loading icon next to my mouse cursor pops up and blinks rapidly, like it's desperately trying to load the video and just can't seem to find it or something.

Multiple extensions on one phone?

So I got the UC540 today and have it all set up, was very easy thought it would be worse. All is working fine, SIP trunks etc, have a few minor things to play with but all is well so far. I just can't figure out how to properly put 2 extensions on one phone or how you do that?
I have 2 companies that I work for under my phone system. With Asterisk and the phones on SIP, line 1 would be one extension and line 2 would be another. Each has a diff DID and diff voicemail box. I set up my one 7970 phone with extension 300 and voicemail and it works fine, but I need extension 400 to be line 2 with it's own voicemail. I tried in CCA going to phones and users, and under line 2 adding extension 400, but as soon as I check the box voicemail to enable it, it removes it from line 300. Line 2 isn't used as much, so it doesn't need to function the exact same way as line 1 does, just not sure how to best do it, if I should use a floating extension or if I'm missing something, at a loss here. Airport Express Multiple extensions

I have a huge house and need wifi all over. Theres one base extreme connected to the modem and an airport express wirelessly exteding the network. In my farthest room, I dont have good signal so can I buy another express to extend the already extending express?

This configuration can work, but it would have to be configured as a Wireless Distribution System (WDS) and not as an 'extended' network. The reason is because the 802.11n version of an extended network works more like a wheel. That is, the extended base station would be at the hub of this wheel and each extending base station would be on a spoke of that wheel. What you appear to want is a linear combination of base stations and this was only available in the older 802.11g WDS network.
Unfortunately, a WDS network has two major disadvantages: 1) It can only operate in the 802.11g mode which would, effectively, negate the advantage of your 802.11n base stations, and 2) For each base station added in a WDS, the overall wireless bandwidth (speed) would be cut in half.
Another option would be if your home is pre-wired for Ethernet, you could configure a roaming network which would be superior to both.

SPA 525G2 Firmware issues

I am looking to downgrade the firmware of a new SPA525G2 phone from 7.55 to 7.52A
This is to work with my hosted VOIP provider
This new phone is not allowing my to load the older firmware. I have done this on other phones so is this something new?
