Multiple file issue - CS5
I really don't know what to call this other than an annoying issue that I doesn't seem to have an option to shut off.
Here's what happens:
I open project #1. I minimize project #1 to open project #2. When I close project #2, without doing anything, project #1 auto maximizes itself open on my screen instead of staying in the dock.
I want it to stay on my dock, not pop up in my face to let me know it's still there.
It's really annoying. Is there any way to shut this off? CS3 didn't have this issue. I've looked through all the preferences and can't seem to find anything. I've tried to google an answer but since I don't really know what to call the problem, I can't find an answer.
Please help.
Thanks,
-Jane
It's my work machine, so it could be up to date, out of date, I don't know. We JUST got CS5 on our machines last week...
Mac OS X, version 10.5.8.
If you could find how this was solved, I would really appreciate it!!!

Hi all,
I tried to process multiples files with PSE9.
My purpose was :
Source DNG files
Photo optimization, add a tag left bottom and record the results into jpeg high quality files in an empty directory.
The results I got were :
-optimization applied
-Tag not included
-for every single file a pop up windows required a location to register the file (psd format)
-no jpeg file produced
I do not understand what I miss coded so that I did not get my jpegs.
How can I avoid the pop up phase?
Regards,
ThierryMichel,
I ran the test again with ACR screen tagged at 8 bits rather than 16 bits.
The process went up to the end without any pop up. The tag is there etc.
As a conclusion I would say that you're right and when you require a jpeg while you openned the file as 16 bits PSE9 propose a compatible format even if the message is not explicit.

Thierry -
Hi,
I am using BPM to pick the two files and merge to one it sent to Receiver. If My source folder is having two files bpm successfully processing the file for example I am having file names like this
SAP_08-01-2011_1.TXT AND SAP_08-01-2011_2.TXT
The files are coming to XI through schedular automarically. Some times the 2 set of files are coming to XI at a time like this
SAP_08-01-2011_1.TXT AND SAP_08-01-2011_2.TXT and SAP_09-01-2011_1.TXT AND SAP_09-01-2011_2.TXT
In this situation XI some times it is picking the other date file and try to process in BPM in result wrong data is going to receiver.
Like
SAP_08-01-2011_1.TXT AND SAP_09-01-2011_2.TXT are processing
*ACTUVALLY SAP08-01-2011_1.TXT AND SAP_08-01-2011_2.TXT FILES NEED TO PROCESS*_
How to avoid this processing in BPM means same set of files need to be executed in BPM .
I am using BPM below steps to achive this
1. FORK STEP
2. TWO RECEIVE STEPS
3. TRANSFORMATION STEP
4. SEND STEP.
To process the same set of files
SAP_08-01-2011_1.TXT AND SAP_08-01-2011_2.TXT need to process in BPM
SAP_09-01-2011_1.TXT AND SAP_09-01-2011_2.TXT need to process in BPM
If we want to send the same set of files to BPM wht need to do .
Regards,
EswarHi,
You have to define the correlation on the date.
When the date part in the filename is same; those two files will be picked up & processed.

Acrobat 9 Pro - Batch Create Multiple Files from InDesign CS5 files
When attempting to batch create PDFs from Indesign CS5 files using Acrobat Pro 9's File>Create PDF>Batch Create Multiple Files ... option the operation fails with the error 'Could not find the application that created this file: [path to file] Please select a file created by an application that resides on your computer.' as shown in the screenshot below:
Acrobat 9 Professional was bundled with Creative Suite 5 Design Standard so shouldn't this work? My machine is running OS X 10.6.7, Acrobat Pro 9.44 and InDesign CS5 7.04.
Any help to solve this issue would be most gratefully received - this feature had previously saved me a lot of time on my old machine with 10.5.8, Acrobat Pro 9 and CS4.I have uploaded the files and shared them. These are the links

Hi All,
I have designed an APEX application to download multiple files. I have check box in each row of the file name and a download button.
When the users checks set of checkboxes and click on the "Download" Button, i am expecting the marked files to be downloaded. I am encountering the below issues in this implementation(i.e single file download is fine):
1. When ticks all the check boxes and click download, the files are never downloading. The target URL goes something like this :
www.example.com/abc/bcd/wwv_flow.accept
and there is a cross icon in the new page. No download happening.
2. When ticks few files and leave rest of the files un-checked, there are either junk charactes in target page (or) only the last checked box file alone downloading.
Please refer the code below and advice. Thanks very much in advance.

Issue editing CS3 files in CS5, hangs ID forever, 100% processor
When opening or modifying CS3 files in CS5, ID will hang forever.
Specifically, we have documents that have complex advertiser approval objects on the slug area, many are grouped and have script labels. We have multiple objects on the pasteboard, about 7 layers, some locked some not, master page items, and guides, etc etc. The ads themselves are pretty complex, can be from 15 to 90+ text and image frames. We have many fonts per ad (can be 10+) and the computers have about 250 families of fonts.
When I open a CS3 file in CS5, if I option-drag an object on the page, or if I copy the main page contents to a new template (converted from CS3), and try to move or manipulate some items, ID locks up and must be force quitted once the beach ball starts. I have tried to let it run its course for up to 5 mins. The lockup has happened more on text boxes than images, but I can clearly see ID hesitating when copying/moving objects. I am watching a processor monitor and can see 1 of my cores ramps up to 100% and stays there until I force quit.
The only solution I have come up with is to convert the document to INX in CS3. Then open the INX in CS5, and then most manipulation seems OK with no hesitation and no beach ball. Copying/pasting/dragging/putting into a new document is OK then.
Opening documents directly in CS5 almost universally (except for the simplest "hello world" document) will cause CS5 to die upon manipulation.
Setup: 4 core Mac Pro, 4gb ram, OS X 10.6.4, CS3 and CS5 install; also tested/reports of same problem on iMac 24 and iMac (2010) 27s, OSX 10.6x.
I'd love to be able to send crash reports to Adobe, but I can't actually get a real crash. I keep getting the Apple force-quit reporter. Any way to send that to Adobe?
ChrisI need to find out why this is happening or our upgrade is gonna hit the rocks. Anyone from Adobe here to read this? I'll be happy to send docs over. I can still have this hang CS5 with documents even when exported to INX.
Here's an Apple force-quit log:

Annoying Print Issue - "Multiple files are bound...."
Anyone know how to disable the extra page that prints with PDF packages that's titled "Multiple files are bound together in this PDF package"?
Basically, when I print out the documents that are packaged, this page prints out first - and it's very annoying...
I am using Acrobat 8 Pro, so, it can't be a version issue.. also does this printing from Acrobat Reader 9...
Thanks for any help in this.
JillI found something that seems to address the issue we were having.
"In Acrobat v8, you can choose to create a PDF Package that allows you to choose whether to use a default cover sheet or use the first PDF file (in it's entirety) as the cover sheet. In Acrobat v9, it no longer appears to be an option to choose a cover sheet - the default cover sheet is ALWAYS part of the portfolio."
I have Adobe 8 Pro and have tried it and it worked like a charm for me.
The steps I followed are were: File> Combine Files> Add Files (select all files to be added to the PDF Package)> Next> select Assemble Files into a PDF Package (be sure the document you want as the "cover page" is the 1st one listed, if not, "Move Up")> Select Cover Sheet (in the lower right of the window) select "Use First Document"> Create> Save.
After following these steps, you will find the Cover Sheet is the 1st part of your PDF Package and the rest will be listed to the left. When you Print All Documents, you will no longer get the "Multiple files are bound together in this PDF Package" cover sheet beforehand. -
I'm trying to create a simple web form capable of uploading multiple image files. I've followed the instructions as per July 12, 2012, " Customizing Web Forms", "Adding multiple file attachment fields to the web form" and everthying seems to indicate that's it working, however when I go to "related files under cases I only see one file. Any ideas?
Yes, you'll find it here: http://www.pikassopets.com/order/upload

Issue with multiple files merging into 1
I'm trying to write some code that will read the contents of multiple files in a directory then output it into a single file. However when I try to open the files via a for loop it does not recognise the variable I have assigned for the filename:
FileReader fr = new FileReader(fileName);
please see the full program so far, it isn't finished and this currently has me beat, any help would be greately appreciated.
Thanks
Chris
import java.io.*;

File absolutePath = new File("C:\\java\\Credit Cards");
String[] ccFiles = absolutePath.list();

boolean newFile = false;
CCHeaderLine cch = new CCHeaderLine();
String strDate = cch.getDate();
String headerLine = cch.getHeader();
File file = new File("TUHCC_"+strDate);
FileWriter fw = new FileWriter(file);
fw.write(headerLine);
fw.flush();
fw.close();
}catch(IOException e) {}
for (int i = 0; i<ccFiles.length;i++)
String filename = ccFiles;
filename.toUpperCase();
if (filename.startsWith("C")) //only want to open files beginning with C
FileReader fr = new FileReader(fileName);
/*Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problem:
fileName cannot be resolved */
BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(fr);
String dataLine = br.readLine();String filename = ccFiles;
filename.toUpperCase();
if (filename.startsWith("C")) //only want to open files beginning with C
FileReader fr = new FileReader(fileName);
There are several problems here.
1) Variable names (and many other things) are case sensitive in Java. filename != fileName
2) filename.toUpperCase(); will not change filename, it will just determine its upper case version and discard it -
Indesign CS5 freezes when opening multiple files
When I try to open multiple files at the same time it will show the files on screen as if they are open but then a popup will come up that says "Open 2 Documents" and it never completely finishes loading and freezes up Indesign. I am unable to cancel the dialog box and have to use ctrl+alt+delete to close the program and then open the files one at a time. When I open the program again it then has the files loaded and ready to go. I am working on Windows 7 Professional and I don't have any Indesign Plugins that I use. Extensis Suitcase font auto-activation is turned off.
Dear all,
I think I have the same problem... or not ?!
=> When I try to open multiple files at the same time it opens only the 2 or 3 first ones then it freezes on the Spinning Beach Ball of Death !
=> Then it never completely finishes loading and freezes up Indesign.
=> I am unable to cancel the dialog box and have to use cmd+alt+esc to close the program
=> then, the files open directly on indesign when I open the program again (jus as if the files had been loaded and ready to go)
I am working on MAC OS X (10.7.3)
Anybody could help please ?? (sorry for my english... I'm a French native speaker) -
Illustrator CS6 Running an Action on Multiple files in a folder
I'm having trouble getting this to work and was hoping someone could shed some light for me.
I created a action in Illustrator CS6 (on a PC) which opens PNG files, scales them onto a 8.5 x 11 page, saves them as a PDF into a output folder on my desktop and then closes the page. The action works great and does exactly what I had hoped for.
Here is my issue:
I now have a need to do this on multiple files at the same time. Using the Illustrator Help menu, I found out about Batch processing. The tutorial says that a batch can be run on a single file or on a folder of files. Bingo! That's what I want. Problem is, I can't get it to work.
After setting up the batch with the following settings: (note: I didn't use a destination folder because I have the action saving the pdf into an output folder on the desktop).
According to the help page, it said to use Override Action "Open" commands which Opens the files from the specified folder and ignores any Open commands recorded as part of the original action. I thought this is what I needed to open all the files in the folder, because when recording my action, I had to use the open command to open a png file. It wouldn't just let me choose a folder. If I don't have the open command in the action, nothing happens.
My main issue is getting multiple files from within my input folder to open when running the action. The only file that opens is the file that I recorded while creating the action. If I remove that file from the folder, nothing happens at all.
Please help!
Thank you,I need to create a Action in Illustrator CS6 where i have to open set of files from the desired folder and convert the files to eps format. but i need to save as CS5 version instead of CS6.
I tried creating the Action it works perfectly except the CS6 to CS5 conversion.
Is there any way to achive converting to CS5 in Action?
please help. -
Create multiple PDFs from multiple files
Hi everyone
I'm trying to use the "Create multiple PDFs from multiple files" function in Acrobat 9 Pro (version 9.4.6) to create about 100 PDFs from InDesign CS5 files. Theoretically this would do the trick for my purpose. BUT: When running the function, it does not use the CS5 InDesign (version 7.0.3), but tries to open the files with InDesign CS3. Of course this does not work. We, as a professional working agency, have installed CS3, CS4 and CS5. Even with making the InDesign CS3 .app invisible an pushing it into the garbage bin during the process did not work. Acrobat still wants to access InDesign CS3. It is not possible to downgrade the files to CS3 files, for there are special (i.e. interactive) functions which only work in CS5. It would be more work than creating the PDFs manually, anyways.
Does anyone have similar issues? Any ideas how to solve the problem?
Thanks in advance.
ThinkaOK, cool, I found one, which seems to work just fine.

InDesign keeps crashing on type tool/when multiple files are opened??
I've 'trashed' my preferences, updated both Suitcase 3 and CS5 to the latest updates...and still having issues. Just constant crashing whenever I open multiple files, or as soon as I enter a text box to make edits.
Here's my two crash reports:

http://pastebin.com/3pSxgUvN
And a sample process:
http://pastebin.com/DDCGyEG1
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!Hmm yes, I've just had my first crash of the day - tried to package a file and it froze when copying the font files over.
Well, that does seem a plausible summary of what is happening. Your crash report is of particular interest, because it doesn't really implicate InDesign:
Thread 34 Crashed:
0 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x91f6f65f _CFURLIsFileURL + 15
1 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x91fd2a80 CFURLSetResourcePropertiesForKeys + 32

7 libSystem.B.dylib 0x90a06259 _pthread_start + 345
8 libSystem.B.dylib 0x90a060de thread_start + 34
so, that is a crash in Apple code. Now, of course, the apple code was called from InDesign, and there's a certain degree of garbage-in-garbage-out. If you ask the operating system to copy a nonexistent file to a nonexistent device, it might crash. It shouldn't but it might.
And if we look at thread 0, which is InDesign code, we can sort of see where InDesign invoked the operating system:

So, where does that leave us? Well, we would like to know what file is being copied, and why the file copy operation caused the operating system to crash the program.
Are you sure it was a font? Could it have been copying another linked file?
I don't suppose you have any folks around the office who know their way around Apple's Xcode tools, that are used for developing Objective C applications? There are some ways to figure out what file is causing InDesign to crash, but they're all kind of cryptic and annoying to explain without doing it in person...
If not, let me know and I'll try to figure out a simple way to explain it... (and to figure out which of the cryptic tools are the best ones to recommend for this situation. A question that might take me some time to answer....) -
Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program
Hi All,
I have a issue related <b>Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program</b>.
Actual issue is as below.
In the <b>selection screen</b> of <b>my program</b> i will give <b>Application Server Path</b> as :
<b>/PW/DATA/SAP/D1S/PP/DOWN/eppi0720*</b>
Then the based on above input it should pick up all the files that are matching <b>eppi0720*</b> criteria.
Suppose if i am having <b>5</b> files with above scenario, i have to fetch all those <b>5</b> files at a time and place in my SAP Program.
All those 5 file's data should come into SAP at a time.
Can anybody tell me how can we solve above issue.
If any body has come across same issue please provide me with solution.
Thanks in advance.

Multiple OS issues with Email set up; "People" ; Synching phone not working as advertised
Nokia Lumia 822
Purchased yesterday (2/10/13)
So far I have spent 14 hours attempting to resolve what feel like endless errors and bugs. If I can;t get these resolved in the next 48 hours the phone goes back. I am so disappointed I waited especially for this phone - heard great stuff. My experience is it sucks. Worst phone ever.
1) POP3 email accounts are non functional. I have attempted to set up and delete and re-set up now multiple times. Each time presents a fresh new nightmare.
Issue 1 - Email account receives email but will not send. Error message goes something like <" Problem sending message. Message failed to send. Problem with Files or Data on your device." >
Issue 2 - Tapping email + accounts sends me back to start screen cannot even set up account
Issue 3 - I get to add email account I enter my information but no account is created
Issue 4 - I set up an account and I get an error message stating my information cannot be found.
Issue 5 - trying to open email from start screen just resets to start screen over and over and over NEVER opens the account.
These are deal breaker issues. I have multiple email accounts on different platforms. If I cannot access my various emails AND send from those accounts this is NOT the phone for me.
2) PEOPLE does not function. ALSO multiple various issues and never the same one twice.
Issue 1 - I tap on a contact and get sent to the start screen over and over and over and over again.
Issue 2 I tap on a contact and the phone freezes and wont respond unless I pull the battery
Issue 3 I open a contact and make an edit, save the contact but the change is never reflected in the list
Issue 4 I try and search for a contact and the search freezes - only option is to return to start screen
3) Scrolling thru any APP randomly takes me back to start screen.
I dread attempting to synch Outlook calendar and contacts on my PC to hotmail - especially if I can't even set up email. And it seems like even holding it will jettison me out of anything I'm doing and back to start screen.
If I can't get these issues resolved. look like I'll be going back to my 3 year old Blackberry Bold which performed flawlessly. It may not be the most impressive phone out there but it did what I needed it to do with out any issues.Interesting Twitter conversation VZWSupport on Twitter. It was suggested to try a HARD reset - and if that doesn't work take the phone back.
Since I don;t have anything set up yet that's my solution.
I see a BlackBerry Z10 in my future

Pass temporary table as parameter to a procedure from Java
