Multiple File Processing in Photoshop 11

I was told that to resize a batch of photos to use the multiple selection tool. Howver, this button is not active as it appears in my Photoshop 11. D I have to import the files to a certain location or something. Any help would be appreciative.

For some reason Process Multiple files is not highlighted so I cannot select or use this tool. Any input on how to get it highlighted so I can use it. Right now if I click on it nothing happens.

Photoshop elements 8 not proceeding at multiple file processing

Hi everyone,
I've got the following problem with photoshop elements 8. I worked for a long time with it. Using the multiple file processing functionality a lot. I do quite a lot of big shoots and I only use the raw settings for processing. After that I let photoshop elements do the rest of the work, which is converting all my raw images into jpegs and resizing them to prepare them for uploading. These shoots often contain more then 200 photographs.
As of this last weekend when I start up the multiple file processing window it starts opening the first file but does not proceed. Which means that I have to edit all the images by myself and resize them to the proper size etc etc etc. I really don't want to do this. This funcionality is one of the main reasons why I use photoshop. Anyone got any idea why it suddenly stopped working? Anyone else experienced this and solved it?

One thing to check is the bit depth that camera raw is set to.
Open a raw photo in the camera raw dialog and look down along
the bottom of the dialog where it says bit depth. If it says 16bit,
change to 8 bit and press done.
Photoshop elements sometimes won't process 16 bit files using process
multiple files.

Individialized multiple file processing

Hi everybody,
I would appreciate your answer in the following: Does PSE provide a frame for individual setting of multiple file processing (macro command function?). The standardized one does not help me, as the quick fix option do not turn out as I need it.
I usually have about 30-40 photos per day which I need to adjust with "smart fix 1%" - takes ages to do these all individually.

No, there's no macro function. What you see in the "Process Multiple Files" dialog is all you get.
You can use the free XnView image viewer application:

which allows batch processing with image adjustments which can be customized.

Functionality of Files Processed with Photoshop CC

Adobe has stated that Photoshop CC users will have access to all files saved on their computers.
What will be the functionality of files processed with Photoshop CC and saved on my computer if I no longer subscribe to Photoshop CC?
Adobe will introduce new functions such as Camera Shake Reduction to Photoshop CC. Let's say that I use a new function on a layer or as a Smart Object, and then save it on my computer, and then end my subscription to Photoshop CC. Will I be able to open the file with my layers intact and editable in any program other than Photoshop CC?
If I save the files with the layers merged as TIFFs or JPEGs I assume that I will be able to open them with most photo programs. Let's say that I do not save merged files and I am willing to sacrifice the layers. Will Photoshop CC be required to merge the layers and save as files that can be edited in other programs? What happens with other file types such as PSDs?
Let's say I own CS6 or previous versions with perpetual licenses. Will I be able to open and edit files in CS6 with layers created in Photoshop CC?

Having read the link, it is not quite the disaster Dave Cross makes it out to be. While the new features would not be directly editable in CS6 or earlier, you could absolutely still use the image data in those layers, and make further edits using the features and tools in whatever copy of Photoshop you were using. The Shape layer which used the new radius corners tool in CC, is still a shape layer, but even if it had been rasterised, you could select it and turn that selection into a path, and edit that path.
I am not so sure about the ACR filter layer. I'd like to think that the results of using that adjustment layer would be apparent in whatever that adjustment layer had been applied to in Photoshop CC. So you'd still have the benefit of the edit. Dave made that over complex by nesting the ACR layer in a smart object, and I could only guess at the consequences of that. But the bottom line is you could still open a PSD file created in CC, and have all the layers, and most of the information. You might even have the outcome of all or most of the edits made in CC. If you are worried, put a copy merged layer at the top of the stack while CC is still working for you, or just keep subscribing to what will continue to be the world’s best raster image editing program.

Photoshop Elements 13 multiple file process

I have Photoshop Elements 13. The Process Multiple Files is Greyed OUT and does not respond. It does not change when a file is open in the folder or not. I also have elements 10 on this machine and the Multiple file option works fine.

Multiple file processing in ODI

Hi,
I am currently processing some files in ODI using a combination of odifilewait and odifilemove.
This is what i want to achieve:
We have multiple files coming into a directory (SRC_DIR) from different source systems. Each file will come with a control.ok file which indicates that the FTP process is complete for that file e.g. Mor10.txt file comes with controlMor10.ok. We want to be able to move each file with its corresponding control file to a WORKING_DIR from where they will be processed.
My question is, how do we configure the odifilewait and odifilemove processes to:
1) Wait for control file and actual file in SRC_DIR
2)Once both files are found, move to WORKING_DIR
3) Continue checking, and moving files as they arrive till a predetermined time or until all the files we expect have been moved.
We need to ensure that we only move a file when the control file is present, therefore, if we have Mor10.txt, controlMor10.txt, Mor11.txt in the SRC_DIR, we want to move only Mor10.txt and controlMor10.txt to WORKING_DIR.
Replies are most welcome.

Multiple File Processing PSE 6

I have been Processing Multiple Files using Bridge and PSE 6. I was about halfway through and PSE stopped letting me use the Process Multiple Files. I get a msg. 'Could not complete the Process Multiple Files command because the disk is not available.' I restarted and reset the settings, but no luck. I then tried using Bridge for CS3 and I get 'Source folder is empty' when I specify the source...which it is not empty. Any ideas?

Pse6 MAC - Multiple File Processing Problem

Hi - I have been using the PSE 6 MAC and processing multiple files converting from Camera Raw to JPGs. All of a sudden, it won't run any more. Gets stuck somewhere in the first picture and hangs up. Anyone have any ideas?
I've rebooted and checked my available memory before running it PSE and it should have been fine at 3 GB. I'm operating on a pretty new MacBook Pro5.1, 2.53GHz processor, 6MB Cache, 4 GB Memory.
Just can't figure it out what is causing it to hang up.
Any help appreciated. Thank you.

No illegal characters. Seems to be a problem in all the folders.
I just import pictures from my camera into a folder then run the Process Multiple Files on the Raw files to convert them to web quality & printables. In the Process Multiple Files, I do check the Auto Levels for quick editing. However, the same thing happens even if I don't check any of those boxes. It just sits and hangs on the first picture.
The crazy thing is it was working just fine a week ago! Not sure what has happened or changed since then.
Don't have a clue how to fix this.

I have a large number of jpeg files that I would like to process at one time, applying the Enhance/Auto Smart Fix tool, and then saving and overwriting the original files in the original folder.
Is this possible? If so, how do I do it.

In Expert mode, use the menu 'File / process multiple files'.
You have the option to overwrite the original files (a very bad idea in my opinion) and you can specify which automatic enhancements you want.

i have some mandatory fields to form unique id on combination
1.when files processing any data missed on mandatory fields it should alert users saying following line and fields are missing mandatory

You need to have a package with below work flow
1. ForEachLoop container with file enumerator to loop through files
Have variable inside loop to get the filename during each iteration. Create another variable called emailaddress, set EvaluateAsExpression property to true and set expression as
REPLACE(@[User::FileName],".xls","") + (DT_STR,20,1252) "@xyx.com"
2. Add tasks for validating data. Capture details of error on a string variable @[User::Error]
3. link a sent mail task to previous task and choose expression and constraint option. Set Constraint as On Completion and Expression as LEN(@Error) > 0
Inside Sent mail task set expression for ToLine and MessageSource properties to map to variables @[User::EmailAddress] and @{User::Error] respectively to sent notifications

PhotoShop Elements 10...I need help with font size for watermark in Processing Multiple Files.....

I have PhotoShop Elements 10, and I am trying to watermark some of my photos, I have successfully added them one at a time with a font large enough to be seen. Now I am trying to add it using the "process multiple files" , I can do that but the font even at 72 the largest setting is so small on the photo you can barely read it! Can anyone help me the size larger on my photos?

Thank you, Michael. I just watched the Russell Brown video again for CS6 and looked real closely at his settings in ACR and he was using 240ppi. I changed my file in image size to 240 ppi and then ran the script and the layer didn't change size this time when I ran the script.
It is kind of annoying to have to change the image size everytime I want to run this script and then change it back again as most of my files are 300 ppi. I used to run his script for edit in ARC in CS5 and recall that if I just remembered to change the settings in ARC to 300 ppi while the script was playing and before pressing 'open' that the image wouldn't change size during the raw processing, but this doesn't seem to be working in CS6. Do you know of a way to use this script and not have to change the ppi for the image to 240?

Problem Processing Multiple Files in Photoshop Elements

I have always used the process multiple files option in the File drop down menu without issue. I recently completed editing some photos as I have done before and wanted to process them into a smaller JPEG file and add my watermark. I set all the settings in the process multiple files program and clicked OK. The first image came up and appeared to process but then a "save as" dialogue box came up. The box was asking to save the file as a photoshop file and not a JPEG. I cant seem to find out why it is doing this. I have restarted the program and my computer running it and I have tried running the same process on other files with the same result.

Which Elements version ?
Was it a raw format file ?
If so, is your bit mode menu in the middle of the bottom bar of the ACR dialog set to 16 bits ? Try setting it to 8 bits and save a raw file in 8 bits before trying the process multiple files again to see if that makes a difference.

Photoshop Elements 7,Process Multiple Files , size of destination file wrong

In Adobe Photoshop Elements 7, I am using the Process Multiple Files tool to change the names (First Box contains: “Rob” + Second Box “1 Digit Serial Number”) of files an add a watermark. The Name & water mark are created correctly.
The Resize Images Box & File Type Box are not checked.
No matter what I have tried so far the destination size if the files is about 1/10 the size of the source, for example 5,728 To 506 .
What am I going wrong?

Sub folders and Process multiple files in Photoshop Elements 10

I am looking to apply the same adjustments to numerous images in numerous sub-folders and overwrite the original images.
Using the Process Multiple Files options, I added the main folder (which contains no images) to the Source field, selected the Include All Subfolders tick-box, also selected the Same as Source tick-box (which warns you original files will be overwritten) and then completed the image adjustments I required. However, after running the process all the adjusted images were saved in the main folder and did not overwrite the originals contained in each sub-folder. Does anyone know if there is a setting I am missing to replace the images in the sub-folders or is this by design ?

No...
I think you are going to run great risks in trying to use batch process like 'process multiple files' or 'export' while relying on subfolder structures.
- the organizer is much more powerful with its database and keywords management than a folder structure organization,
- Batch processes are limited in Elements
- 'Good practice' calls for keeping originals intact.
What are you wanting to do exactly ? We might be able to suggest alternative workflows.
