Multiple iCals - can't merge, I DO have .mac??!!!

I've been trying to merge my iCals. I have one on a macbook (leopard) one on iMac (tiger) and one on my ipod touch. I regularly sync on .mac and hoped that regardless of which iCal i'd use, it would automatically update on all of them. I have a similar problem with the Address Book facility too. I want to be able to update iCal or Address Book regardless of which computer I'm on, then sync and update all. Is this possible? I've checked my settings to see if i've missed something obvious, and I've read some of the threads on here, but it looks like I should be able to do with with .mac. I'd appreciate any help, its driving me mad updating several times - especially as i like to sync these onto my mobile to have with me. Cheers, Karen

Yes. VERY frustrating for me too. I have iMac and Macbook, leopard on both. My iMac syncs to .Mac just fine, but my macbook will not sync. tells me the data is inconsistent in the calendar and will not sync. the address book syncs just fine. i have reset the sync data and all that. uninstalled, reinstalled. even tried to restore my ical from a file off of my imac...still not help at all. i can't even restore it.

Not sure check with the Parallels helps section and or there forums.
The reason I say this is if Parallels Created a Virtual Machine File for that BC install then Yes you can use Boot Camp assistant to delete the Windows Partition and that will merge it back into the Mac partition and not disrupt the Parallels VM of Windows.

"archive and install" button can't be clicked, already have Mac OS 10.4

i cannot start up my laptop and i see the apple logo and it doesn't go to my desktop and i would like to do a "archive and install" but the button isn't an option for me even though i have Mac OS 10.4 already installed when i bought it.
should i go through all of the disk utility and repair/verify everything and see if then i can archive and install?
and does anyone know if the archive and install saves iTunes/iPhoto files?

How to Perform an Archive and Install
1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

Can I merge calendar on my mac with a calendar on iCloud?

I have a claendar that shows on the dropdown list as the default calendar ON MY MAC. It syncs with my microsoft outlook calendar at work so I can see all my work calendar items on my home mac.
The drop down list also shows iCloud as having a separate calendar. When I untick the ON MY MAC calendar all my appointments disappear. I'd like to merge these calendars together so that I can also see the work appointments etc on my iPhone. Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so how I can do it?

The issue I have is that I cant export the calendar ON MY MAC to the iCloud calendar as it is the one that is updated from Outlook and so needs to become the icould calendar too if thats possible?

Just updated to Firefox 4.0 and can't download former 3.6 version as suggested by others...what can I do since I have Mac OSX 10.4.11 and can't download older Firefox version?

When I went to the website suggested in the forum to download the older 3.6 version of Firefox, there was nowhere I could click to download this older version. Firefox recommends and had a place to click on downloading 4.0. How can I get the best of both without having to upgrade my Mac OSX? Please send me a reply ASAP! Thanks!

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5. You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

First, iCloud: How to back up iCloud data.
Next, use iCal>File>Export>Export...for the calendar that you want to use for the export. Move the .ics file to your new computer, and double click the file. You will be offered a choice of creating a new calendar in iCloud, or importing to an existing calendar. Make the appropriate choice for your circumstances.

Running Mac OSX Snow Leopard. My Address Book app is syncing fine with an Exchange 2007 server, but now I've got 2 Address Book groups on my machine...one for the Exchange account and another called 'On My Mac'. They are almost identical...so when I view 'All Contacts' everything is duplicated...quite confusing.
Can I merge my 'On My Mac' group into the Exchange group?

Not that I know of. I am in the same situation. If you want to see just the contacts on your Mac, click on the "on your Mac" item or if you want to see just your exchange contacts, click there. That's what I do. Works fine.

a single iTunes can be authorized for up to five iTunes store accounts (Apple IDs). a library thusly set up will sync content purchased with any of the five Apple IDs to any device.

No, it is not possible to merge accounts. Choose one as the primary account and keep a local backup of all purchases so you don't get into the mess where you encounter a 90 day freeze on re-downloading past purchases from multiple accounts.

If you are using a username for your account, you will need to change it to an email address that is required by the system now. If both your accounts are using the same email, you will need to provide another one as you will not be able to use an email for multiple accounts.
