Multiple iCloud accounts and Siri is getting them wrong

I have multiple iCloud accounts for my work and my family. We use the family iCloud to ensure that we are keeping our schedules in sync and remind everyone of common goals. Unfortunately when I ask Siri to remind me of something she defaults to my family iCloud. This is not even my default iCloud account. How can I use Siri to remind me on the right account?

yeah i knew i could log in as her and find it but i was just hoping i missed something and could have them all under one account for convinence. thanks for the reply

My daughter and I both  have an iPhone and some how we share an iCloud account and she's getting all my texts and contacts. I can't find where to uncheck her phone number on my phone account so she doesn't get all my texts and contacts. Please help

    Hi Shellyk,
Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and make sure that only your personal email addresses are listed under the individual phone number.Remove the "shared" iCloud email address.
For the Contacts, if you are syncing them via iCloud and you both have the same iCloud account, you will both have the same Contact list.
    Cheers,

If you bought the machine new yourself, and did not enter a password when configuring it, leave the field blank.
If you bought it used, then you need to reset the password, as described here:

  • I have two iCloud accounts and want to merge them

I have accidently set up two iCloud accounts and now I need to merge them to get rid of one so that all my accounts are in one place. I have not been able to get my PC Outlook file synced with since Mobile Me is no longer available and I just now figured this out.

You cannot merge them. You could manually export all the data from one and reimport it into the other: or you could sign in with one in System Preferences>iCloud and with the other in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars, which would make both sets of data available on your Mac.

  • Sharing an iCloud account and Siri

I want to share all photos, calendars and contacts with my wife. So we are sharing the same iCloud account. I was concerned iMesseging would work but it seams fine. Only problem I have run into seams to be that Siri keeps changing 'My Info' to whoever changed it last. So if my wife selects her address card, a few minutes later it will change on my phone.
Does Siri sync with iCloud somehow or does in need a unique iCloud account.
Now Siri has stopped working completely and I'm not if it is because of this or a general server overload
Anyone know of any other problems with sharing an iCloud account?

Siri uses the 'this is my card' function and most certainly does sync that concept to the cloud. e.g. if i make a special contact to 'call me' on the phone, but later set my 'this is me' card on my mac, the LAST choice stands.
that is an interesting workaround putting a separate group of contacts 'on my phone' through iTunes, that should actually work, good thinking. I don't usually recommend *any* form of syncing of contacts/emails/calendars through iTunes it makes a horrible mess of duplication. if you ONLY have a couple contacts 'on my iphone' for the different people that should work, the 'merge' step above will duplicate *all* your contacts and usually spells disaster.
a better solution would likely be:
disable cloud contact syncing, delete contacts from phone when it asks
go to contacts ON the PHONE and create the special 'for Siri' contact so you can assign THAT contact.
there is a preference in SIRI for which contact is YOU... if you assign it to an 'on my phone' contact which really needs nothign other than name and maybe phone#, though if you put in a spouse you can say things like 'call my wife' and it works properly, that should work marvelously well for sharing a SINGLE cloud-id, yet have different people names in siri, you will then share photostream as well.
if you DESIRE to share photostream and contacts it would be reasonable to share the same ID, but i still don't recommend it; documents also tied to the primary iCloud user.
The proper solution is to have separate iCloud primary user for the un-shared items and a SECOND iCloud user for the shared items. use the SHARED ID for the ID on the mac if you share a single login, or multiple-times if you wish to SHARE contacts/calendars on the mac. (mac user ID independent of the cloud id)
example... on the mac you can have husband, wife, daughter for logins and [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] for the iCloud ID within each account.
iTunes is a disaster by default; dupicated in EACH account stoopidly rather than shared, but there are reasonable workarounds for that.

  • How to Configure iCloud with multiple iCloud accounts and one apple id

I need some help from the icloud experts. I almost have my arms around this, but not completely.
What I want to end up with is the following:
One account that both my wife and I use for shared contacts, calendars, photostream and find my device.
Separate account for my email among several devices.
Separate account for my wife for her email among several devices.
Now what I curently have is an apple id (*.mac.com), which is the main account used for purchases, etc. It has my mail, backups, and 25GB of space as a result from MobileMe.
I created a separate icloud account for my wife, using her Apple ID, so that her mail stayed separate from mine. However, now we have separate photo streams, contacts, etc, which is getting confusing and cumbersome.
I would like to keep my apple id as the main account since it already has the 25GB of space. So tell me if the following make sense.
I setup the master account using my apple id (the one with 25GB of space) for both of us, and enable the contacts and calendar syncing for all of our devices.
I turn the mail and Safari bookmarks syncing on for my devices; but turn it off  for my wife's devices.
Then I use my wife's account on her devices to sync her mail, bookmarks, etc.
Would this work or is there another combination to use? Ideally a family oriented apple id would be good for the master account, but it wouldn't have the 25GB of space unless I purchased it. I'm trying to get around that if possible. I have tried to find something like this on the discussion boards but haven't had luck yet.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Set up your mac.com account again on devices.  Turn off Mail and other data syncing with this account on your wife's devices for data that you want to keep separate.  Then set up a second ("secondary") iCloud account on your wife's devices to sync Mail.
If you already set up a separate iCloud account on your wife's devices, on her devices go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in your your mac.com ID.  Turn on the data you want to share with this account across all devices; don't turn Mail on.  Then go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud and enter her separate iCloud credentials and turn Mail to On.
The only downside to this approach is that her email will be fetch, not push email.  Push email is only supported in the main ("primary") account, not a secondary account.
The limitations to be aware of with secondary accounts are that only the primary account can be used for Photo Stream, Bookmarks, Documents, iCloud Backup and Find My Device.  Also, push mail only works for the primary account; secondary account mail is fetch.

  • HT4528 I have the iphone 4 and purchased the iphone 5, but each have different icloud accounts and I cannot get my pics to streamline. I would like to remove the account on the iphone 4 to match the iphone 5. Can I do this without loosing all the pics fro

Can I delete my apple id from my iphon 4 to match my iphone5

    Morning rzayas59,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.
You can sign in to another iTunes Store account on your iOS device by following these steps.
For more information on this, take a look at this article:
iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store Apple ID account

    Best of luck,

There's no way around it.  The former owner needs to erase the phone and remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515.  No one else can help with this, including Apple.

  • I got an Icloud account and lost all my contacts from my Iphone 3s.  how do I get them back?

I had to change my icloud account and all of my contacts disappeared from my phone contacts.
How do I get them back????  I lost hundreds of important personal and business contacts.
I tried to sync it when I got home with my Mac, but still all of my contacts are gone.
Where the heck are they?  Why did they go?  How can I get them back?

Do you have an iCloud back up as well? If so restoring from there may be an option

  • I set up an iCloud account, and it erased ALL of my contacts, how do I get them back?

I just now set up an iCloud account, and when I went to my messages, I saw that there were no contacts, just all numners. So I went to my contacts, and it turns out that there are none. How do I get them back? I'm freaking out!

So when setting up the iCloud account and it asked if you wanted to import the contacts on the device, what did you tell it to do?

  • Back to My Mac and multiple iCloud accounts

I have an iMac at home and a Macbook I travel with.  Previously I had just one mobileme account, and BTMM has worked like a champ.  I now have multiple iCloud accounts in my household, as my wife mostly uses the iMac and I have the macbook.  I very much enjoy the seemless sharing of iCal calendars and the syncing of email accounts over multiple macs and mobile devices.  Trouble is to make BTMM work you have to enter preferences-->iCloud and log both computers into the same iCould account.  Surely apple must have forseen this sort of problem.  I as an indivdual if you have TWO computers and no one else uses them, it's no big deal to have everything on one iCloud account.  But with multiple users, with multiple email accounts, that's just not realistic.  I thought I may have found the work around when going to System Prefs-->Users & Groups-->and adding multilple Apple User IDs, but that doesn't work.
Any one else frustrated with this?  Similar issues with Photo Stream, it would be nice to view other photo streams.  Anybody got any ideas?  Other than logging out of my iCloud account when away....getting all the warnings about deleting stuff off my mac with regard to iCloud..... and logging into my wifes iCloud account?
    thanks
    x

I share this frustration. Over last weekend I needed to leave my computer at home while we went across the country to visit family. I found out there I needed to access my computer and finish an item before I was to return. We brought my wife's MBAir with us just in case, and good thing too. Either way, I was required to sign out of iCloud for her, then sign in as myself. This deleted all her iCloud contacts, calendar, mail, etc. Then it had to reload mine, then when finished i had to do that process all over again for her account. It would seem a quite simple task to allow multiple iCloud accounts to view a set of computers set to any of the iCloud Apple ID's. There is a function similar to this on my TimeCapsule. I can put both of our AppleID accounts onto that device and both of us can see our TimeCapsule and all attached storage while away from home (brilliant by the way), great for accessing movies I have stored on the TimeCapsule. Any results on how to make this work? Thanks

Are you able to email from Mail with those two accounts?  If so:
1 - go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete both accounts. Now add them back and try again.
2 - a better solution IMO is to set Mail as the email client for iPhoto is iPhoto's General preference pane.  This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy of all emails and, if you want a layout similar to iPhoto's, photo layouts located in Mail's stationary.
