  • One Apple ID Two ICloud Accounts several devices?

    Hello,
My wife and I have added some IOS devices and I am very confused on how to setup what I want... please help!
    Old Setup:
In the past we've used one Apple ID for all devices: one Mac, one iPad, one iPhone and an old iPod that syncs manually.
What I want to have now:
Now we have one Mac, 2 iPads, and 2 iPhones.  I want to keep all devices under the same Apple ID so all can share Music.  I want to segregate/seperate the following data:
    1. my iPhone/iPad/shared Mac - contacts, calendar, mail, apps, photo stream.
    2. wife's iPhone/iPad/shared Mac - contacts, calendar, mail, apps, photo stream.
What I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around is how to keep some data (and device - Mac) shared but some data and IOS devices seperate.
Can I setup two calendars, address books, etc to individual iCloud accounts that sync with same Mac?
Thanks for any help in advance!!

I d suggest another use account on your mac for calendars contacts and everything with the cloud.
Can I setup two calendars, address books, etc to individual iCloud accounts that sync with same Mac?"
    not on one account.

  • Unable to delete icloud account from device after Apple ID change

I recently changed my apple ID from my corporate account to a personal address but forgot to log out of icloud on my ipad.  The icloud account on the device is still linked to the old apple id and so cannot delete it as unable to authenticate.
I am unable to use the work around of changing my apple id back to the original address as it not longer exists (left the company)
I am also unable to reset my ipad entirely (as I did to resolve the issue on one of my iphones) as it also still tries to authenticate against the original Apple ID.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I know to Id.  To clarify
My old Apple ID was myname@workemail
I changed the account to have the Apple ID myname@personal email.
To change the Apple ID back to myname@workemail the email address needs to be valid?
The email account address myname@workemail is no longer valid so if I need to verify it I can't.  If I don't need to use a valid email address as my Apple ID it resolves the problem. (On iOS 7.0.4)
    Thanks!

  • Remove device from iCloud account - without device

I am seeing an old iPhone listed in my devices under iCloud > settings (on icloud.com).  I recently got a new iPhone and upgraded other devices to ios8.
    - I do not see this device in my list of devices under find my iPhone.
    - I not longer have this device as it was sent in for trade-in
         - Device was erased prior to being shipped back
    - backup of this device has been removed from icloud
    - I have logged out of iCloud and powered off all iOS devices which had this account on them
    - I have disconnected family sharing from this account
    - I have logged out of all accounts in iCloud settings
(see screen shots of both screens)
Any suggestion on how to remove this device?

The same thing happened to me.
Saturday I got an iPhone 6 and I traded in my 4S at Best Buy to get a gift card to use towards the 6. At the time of trade in, I turned off Find My iPhone and erased all the data on it.
When I got home I went through everything to make sure it was removed from my account, but it still shows up under settings on icloud.com (nowhere else though). I spoke with Apple customer service and they said it was nothing to worry about, and that it would drop off there once someone used the device with another Apple ID.
I am still a little concerned though, because I tried signing my 6 out of my icloud account just now, and it instantly disappeared from the device list in icloud.com's settings. My old 4S is still there, in the list that says "You are signed in and using iOS 8 on these devices"

  • New iCloud account on device?

Hello! So, I have a lot of devices (iPod, two iPads, iPhone, Apple TV) that are all linked to the same Apple ID and iCloud account. That is, up until about 10 minutes ago when I created a separate iTunes account so my son could have his own in Game Center. I would also like to change the iCloud account for his device as well. I have read in other discussions that the way to switch iCloud accounts is to turn off all the apps that are synced to the current one and then you delete the account...but I just wanted to make sure that doing so would only delete the iCloud account for that specific device and not the iCloud account all together. Thanks

    Yes? No? Please:)
I know from just browsing through the last couple days the question of how to add a different Apple ID for iCloud comes up a lot, but all of the ones I have come across seem to be people asking because they are switching their Apple ID over to a different one....and while it seems like it is possible to switch back and forth between the two, I still find myself unaware of any potential consequences....especially apps that are used across all devices including the one I have changed the Apple ID for.
    Thanks again

  • Change iCloud account on device

I have changed my Apple ID and password some time ago.
On my iPhone and iPad the old Aplle ID is still showing in the settings for iCloud, but I cannot change or delete it, since the old ID is not working anymore.
How do I get this old ID removed or changed to my new Apple ID.

    Hi TallDutch,
You need to follow the instructions below to get your iCloud account updated on your devices:
    1.     Go into Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the old ID that is showing on your iCloud accounts (this is temporary):
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
    2.     Do not verify this ID, just press Done when you have changed it
    3.     Go into Settings>iCloud on each of your devices and delete the iCloud account by scrolling to the bottom and clicking on Delete. Put in your current Apple ID password when asked. Answer the prompts as you wish, and delete the iCloud account
    4.     Go back into Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the new ID
    5.     Go back into Settings>iCloud on your devices and sign iCloud back on using your new ID and password
    You should be all set!
    Cheers,

  • Change E-mail for iCloud account on devices?

I have changed my E-mail account in iCloud via my iMac computer. The reason is that my old E-mail that I used will dissapear soon. I cannot figure out how to change it on my iPhone 5, Macbook Air and iPad?. It is filled in as a default under iCloud and I cannot changed it? Please help.

To change the ID on your iOS devices, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the changed ID.  This will delete the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your data will reappear when you sign back in.
To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to the camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account (tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).
To change the ID on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with your changed ID.

  • More than one iCloud account on devices

I have an iPad that is shared by my girlfriend and I.  I'm using my ID has the primary ID for iCloud and I added her iCloud ID to the iPad has well.  Was wondering if the photo stream will sync with her account while I take photos throught the iPad or my iPhone will the photos be able to streem to her indiviual iPhone has well?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only have one primary account, you can add secondary accounts via settings > mail, contacts and calendars.
Secondary accounts don't have all the features of primary accounts, such as Photostream.

  • How many devices can use one iCloud account?

I'm currently working with a school that have bought 15 new iPads. I was wondering whether all of these could be set up under 1 iCloud account, or whether there was a limit to the number of devices that can be registered. The reason for asking this is the we would like to use Find My iPhone to keep track of the devices within the school, and send messages to any that are misplaced, so we can alert nearby staff to return them to us. We aren't interested in music or movies, as they will primarily be used as learning tools, so any restriction specifically on that content doesn't matter to us. The only thing that would is if there is restrictions on app usage within a single account. For example, if we download an app using the single iCloud account, and had automatic downloads switched on for all 15 iPads, would the app be able to be installed on all of those 15? Sorry if this has been a little long winded, and thanks in advance for your answers.

An account for iCloud does also include log-ins for the iOS App Store / Mac App Store / iTunes Desktop Application , but an iCloud account on any device iOS / Mac / PC does not have to match the App Store / iTunes account which certainly has its account login limitations per device as has been pointed out.
What seems to be ommitted is if there is a limit to an iCloud account per X number of devices.
In my estimation there appears to be no limitation for iCloud accounts per device. I say this only with the experience of having my own iCloud account on a MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, iMac, Apple TV Gen2, Apple TV Gen3, iPhone 5S, and an iPad Mini Gen 1.
That is 7 separate devices. Never once have I been prompted about a limit when setting up my iCloud account (which constitues Contacts / Calendar / Notes / Reminders / Documents in the Cloud / Keychain / and Photo Stream and not purchased content through App / iTunes "stores" which do give such prompting upon authorizing your respective device for being able to use / sync said purchases)
I've really only come to this realizatoin upon thinking this through after reading this thread. I was actually searching for this answer myself until now. If I'm wrong I will welcome a rebutal with proof.

  • How can I get a free icloud account. so my device are not allow me to create a free icloud accoun so far , THEY DONT LET ME TO DO SO. HELP ME PLEASE THANK U

So far I'm not using ipad cos I really confused about it, my ipad is not eligible to create free icloud account I been reached the maximum limit of account could somebody help this matter pls

You need to use an Apple device to make an iCloud account - iOS device or Apple computer.  Once you make it though, you could delete it from that device and login to that new account on your other device.  The account is tied to the AppleID used when you create it, not to any particular device.
The limit on new accounts on devices is to keep people from endlessly making iCloud accounts (since that is often done by people looking for many free accounts to use for sending SPAM mail and all sorts of other undesirable uses of Apple's free service)

  • How can I delete an old icloud account that is under an old email account

    deleting an old icloud account

If your device is signed into an old iCloud ID that is an earlier version of the ID you want to sign in with, do the following:
If you are using iMessage and FaceTime, make sure you are signed into these services with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless you are using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • HT204053 Activating iCloud on OS X 10.6.8 - iCloud does not show in System Preferences, and upgrading to more recent OS will slow computer. Can I activate iCloud on this device? It's the 2008 MacBook aluminum model.

I was told that upgrading the OS would slow down my machine significantly. I don't plan on using iCloud for anything other than setting up Find My iPhone. Any suggestions on how to activate iCloud with my current OS?

You would need to upgrade OS X to 10.7.5 (Lion) or later to sync your Mac with iCloud.  If you have 2GB of memory and 8GB of available hard drive space, you could upgrade to OS X Mavericks for free from the Mac App Store.  After upgrading, you can sign into your iCloud account in System Preferences>iCloud.
However, you don't need to do anything if you only need to use Find My iPhone.  To use Find My iPhone to track your iOS devices from a computer you go to icloud.com from your browser, sign into the iCloud account the device you want to track is using and click Find My iPhone.

  • Two iCloud accounts - one calendar?

My wife and I have separate iCloud accounts and devices - iPhones an iPads. How do we set up cloud so that we have just one calendar that we can both make entries too and access on our devices?

You could simply set up calendar sharing (see also: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH2690). Justopen the calendar app on your iOS device, click calendars, and then the little "i" icon, here you can add other people and share your calendar.
