Multiple iCloud accounts on same Mac

We had a family subscription to MobileMe, with 4 of us each having our own me.com email addresses. All of these were set up in the Mail app.  Now that we are moving over to iCloud, in System Preferences, I just see my account as an iCloud account, but the others still show as MobileMe accounts.  At least 2 of those other 3 have been converted to iCloud accounts on their respective iPhones.  How do I get these newly migrated iCloud accounts on to the Mac along with mine that is already there?  I apologize if this is covered elsewhere, but I searched and could not find the solution.  Thanks.

Set up more user accounts, one for each person, and then you can sync the whole bunch to each account.
Please note there is a 3 iCloud User limit (I think...No solid facts)

  • Multiple iCloud account on a Mac?!

    Hi and tnxs for reading.
I notice there is a post with the same subject but the core is different.
I just got an iOS device for mu job with a personal (company related) apple id and iCloud mail account.
I got my new personal apple.id and pwd.
I would like to access this email account via my Mac as-well. For this reason I added this iCloud on my Mac by using Add Account on Mail.
After having inserted my new applied and pwd I got it verified, however the Mail box for this account is not ticked. If I tick it I am prompted to write an iCloud account name @iCloud.com , with the warning that when created it cannot be modified. At this point I stopped the process.
Is there a way to have multiple  iCloud account on my Mail??
    Many tnxs.

The secondary account data I am entering is correct: it is verified during the process and accepted.
Contact, Calendar and Reminders are ticked activated.
Mail is not activated. By manually ticking Mail box I get the msg "Choose an iCloud mail name".
    I am attaching both screenshots.
    Tnxs.

  • Multiple iCloud accounts on same device

With multiple MobileMe accounts (on the same device), only the 'primary' account would 'push' email. The other accounts would need to manually fetch the email.
Has this changed with iCloud? If you set up multiple iCloud accounts, will they all have email 'pushed'?
What about Contacts and Calendars? Will changes get 'pushed' to all accounts or just the primary account?
If Contacts and Calendar changes are not pushed, how can a device be updated with the latest info? With email, there is usually a 'Get mail' button or at least you can set a schedule so messages will get fetched, but there's no such facility for Contacts and Calendars. So if there's no push, how can they keep in sync?
I'm hoping that even if email push only works for the primary account, it WILL work for Contacts and Calendars, even on the other 'secondary' iCloud accounts. Can anyone confirm this either way?

Updating this myself as I have some more information.
The secondary iCloud accounts seem to get mail pushed to them, even on iOS devices which suggests that iOS 5 now does indeed support IMAP IDLE as I cannot see how this would occur otherwise.
However, an odd thing has occured on the Mac. A day after setting up the 3 iCLoud accounts, during which time it has all worked perfectly well, this morning OSX has modified all the accounts, all by itself. It has self-created 3 MobileMe accounts, named the same as the iCloud accounts were and those have now all been renamed 'iCloud'. The iCloud accounts now have Mail turned OFF and the new MobileMe accounts have that turned ON. IOW, the new MobileMe accounts have taken over the email duties.
There's 2 oddities about this, well more than 2 really.
Why create these new 'email only' accounts as type MobileMe which will soon be entirely defunct?
Why would it do this at all? Why not just leave the 3 x iCloud accounts, as they were?
How has it done this all by itself? Shouldn't such account creation be a manual process by the user?
It doesn't seem to have affected the functionality, but I am at a complete loss as to what is going on here. So if anyone can shed some light on it I'd be grateful.

  • How can I setup multiple iCloud accounts on my Mac?

I'm trying to setup additional icloud accounts.  Is this possible and if so, how do you go about doing it?
    Thanks!

Thanks...  I appreciate the reply.  Since I wrote the previous email, I actually went and changed my apple id (the main id) and the documentation I looked at said iCloud will set mail up automatically(?)...  I had it working before.
Also, I tried to manually set up the ID via the Mail Accounts screen(s) and I can't figure out what my server information is...  Pop or Imap?  What's the outgoing server and the incoming server?
I typically have never had problems setting up mail accounts (in apple mail) with no problem.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Multiple iCloud accounts on one Mac

I would like to set up an ical calendar to sync all the schedules of my family members. We all have iCloud accounts. This worked before in mobileme, but since the iCloud upgrade it no longer works. Any suggestions to get this working again?

The simplest way to do this would probably to set up Private Sharing: one of you would publish a calendar and the others would subscribe to it with write privileges. Please see
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a9479
and expand 'Share a private calendar or reminder list with specific people'.

  • Back to my mac multiple iCloud accounts

Is there a way to have multiple icloud accounts on one mac so to connect to other users via "Back to my Mac"?
When it was mobile me we use to have one ID we used at the office so all the computers were networked together even when working from home.
Now that it has switched to icloud everyone has their own account and cant use the Back to my mac feature anymore.
I have tried to add other accounts under user and groups/apple ID/+ add another account and when you enter the info it just disappears.

+1 - This is really a big step back as it sits. My reference point as a sysadmin is that the User and at least one other "person" or account should be able to be used. I hope this feature is coming back as I having found a way to get "Back to my (users) Mac" nor to "Find my (users) Mac" without compomising security and sharing an account.

  • How do i set up multiple iCloud accounts on the same mac?

how do i set up multiple iCloud accounts on the same mac?

Interesting - I was sure I'd seen a note somewhere that it was only Mail, but this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4020
    does say
Your secondary iCloud accounts can be set up and viewed in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars on your iOS device, or Apple () menu > System Preferences > Mail, Contacts, Calendars on OS X Lion. You may choose to do this if you have a second iCloud account and need to access its Mail, Contacts, or Calendar data.
Note: While you can configure multiple iCloud Mail accounts in iOS, Push mail will only work for the primary iCloud account in iOS. Secondary account(s) will check for mail based on the settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data.
It's not something I can test - I suppose the second account's data gets added to the lists in iCal and Address Book?

  • Back to My Mac and multiple iCloud accounts

I have an iMac at home and a Macbook I travel with.  Previously I had just one mobileme account, and BTMM has worked like a champ.  I now have multiple iCloud accounts in my household, as my wife mostly uses the iMac and I have the macbook.  I very much enjoy the seemless sharing of iCal calendars and the syncing of email accounts over multiple macs and mobile devices.  Trouble is to make BTMM work you have to enter preferences-->iCloud and log both computers into the same iCould account.  Surely apple must have forseen this sort of problem.  I as an indivdual if you have TWO computers and no one else uses them, it's no big deal to have everything on one iCloud account.  But with multiple users, with multiple email accounts, that's just not realistic.  I thought I may have found the work around when going to System Prefs-->Users & Groups-->and adding multilple Apple User IDs, but that doesn't work.
Any one else frustrated with this?  Similar issues with Photo Stream, it would be nice to view other photo streams.  Anybody got any ideas?  Other than logging out of my iCloud account when away....getting all the warnings about deleting stuff off my mac with regard to iCloud..... and logging into my wifes iCloud account?
    thanks
    x

I share this frustration. Over last weekend I needed to leave my computer at home while we went across the country to visit family. I found out there I needed to access my computer and finish an item before I was to return. We brought my wife's MBAir with us just in case, and good thing too. Either way, I was required to sign out of iCloud for her, then sign in as myself. This deleted all her iCloud contacts, calendar, mail, etc. Then it had to reload mine, then when finished i had to do that process all over again for her account. It would seem a quite simple task to allow multiple iCloud accounts to view a set of computers set to any of the iCloud Apple ID's. There is a function similar to this on my TimeCapsule. I can put both of our AppleID accounts onto that device and both of us can see our TimeCapsule and all attached storage while away from home (brilliant by the way), great for accessing movies I have stored on the TimeCapsule. Any results on how to make this work? Thanks

  • HT204053 can i have multiple iCloud accounts with the same Apple id

Can i have multiple iCloud accounts with the same Apple id

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
No, your ID is essentially your account. You can have email aliases and you can have multiple accounts, but I don't think that's what you are asking.

  • Can we have multiple Podcasts with the same Mac Account?

    Hi all,
Can we have multiple Podcasts with the same Mac Account?
For example, I have a single .MAC account and create a website with multiple Podcast pages...or within iWeb I create multiple sites, and each has a podcast.
    Is there a problem?
    Thks
    Leo

Its not possible for the same development object. Only 1 person can access an object at a time and if mutiple users modify an object new TASKs are created under the same TRANSPORT.
Only after releasing the tr you can create a new tr on the same object.

  • Sync multiple icloud accounts to mac

Can I sync multiple icloud accounts to a mac

You can add additional iCloud accouts to your Mac as secondary accounts by going to System Preferences>Internet Accounts (Mail,Contacts,Calendars)>iCloud and entering your credentials.  Secondary accounts will only sync mail, contacts, calendars, reminders and notes.
Additionally, you can sign into different iCoud accounts in different user accounts.

  • Switching iCloud User accounts on same MAC

When I go to sign out of current iCloud user account it states "Do you want to keep a copy of your iCloud contacts on this MAC?" then it states "If you dont keep a copy, iCloud contacts will be deleted from this MAC but still be available on other devices using iCloud.
My question/concern would be, since we have multiple user accounts on this MAC, it shows that my wife is signed in and the contacts list is from her devices, if I sign her out to sign in with my Apple ID, when she goes to her user account, will her contacts be deleted?   If they are deleted, can then she sign out then sign in to have her stuff re-synched to her account with out showing on my account?

... , if I sign her out to sign in with my Apple ID, when she goes to her user account, will her contacts be deleted?
They will remain in iCloud, and will be restored when she signs in again.
You can erase them from the Mac any time, but it's a good idea to retain your own copy should iCloud become inaccessible for whatever reason.

  • How do i add my wifes icloud account to my mac

my wifee just bought a new iphone 5s. How do I add her Icloud account to our mac?

Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. See Apple - My Apple ID and Frequently asked questions about Apple ID. The easiest way is to do this on the computer using iTunes: iTunes- How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes.
On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data.  Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Now, tap on My Photo Stream album; tap Select; tap on the photos you want to select;, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow) in the lower left corner; then tap Save to Camera Roll.
If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep then you need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself. Later you can copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.
Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.
Note: The essence of the above was created by user, randers. I have made substantial changes to improve readability and syntax.

  • How can I use multiple icloud Accounts with Fotos?

    Hello.
Yesterday, my wife and I started using the new App "Fotos" on OSX and iOS.
What I can't figure out, and where I would like to get some insight and help, is how we should use our icloud Accounts.
    How it is right now:
    - Wife (MacBook and iPhone)
Has her own icloud-Account ([email protected]) for Backup (iOS) and Fotosync, Keychainsync, Bookmarks. 20GB iCloud-Account (18GB free).
    - Husband (MacBook, Mac Mini and iPhone and iPad)
Has his own icloud-Account ([email protected]) for Backup (iOS) and Fotosync, Keychainsync, Bookmarks. 20GB iCloud Account (10 GB free).
    - Husband has about 400 GB of Photos from over 10 Years on Mac Mini
How I want it to be:
    - Husband
upgrades to at least the 500GB Account, to use for all 400GB of Photos and Backup, Keychainsync, Bookmarks.
    - Wife
Has her own Account ([email protected]) for Keychain and Bookmark, but uses [email protected] on MacBook and iPhone for Backup an Fotosync, so that all Photos are stored in a single one family "container". All Photos in one Place without being able to forget to put them there.
I don't see, how I can accomplish that, since only one "real" icloud account seems to be possible in iOS, so that if i put my account in her iPhone I would get the Photo and Backup I want, but she would not be able to sync her own bookmarks an keychain any more.
Any thought on how to resolve this?
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks for your ideas,
    thomas

Yes, you could have multiple iCloud accounts for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Safari, Notes, and Find My iPhone, but only one primary iCloud account for Photo Stream, Documents & Data, and Storage & Backup.

  • Multiple iCloud Accounts on 1 iDevice?

Is it possible to have multiple iCloud accounts active on 1 iDevice at the same time? I know you can have a separate account for purchases, but can you pick and chose what is synced with each account?
I have 2 iPhone's (mine, my wife's). We currently share a MobileMe account. My thought is to each have our own iCloud account for certain things (back-ups, notes, reminders) and another for things we want to share (calendar, contacts, purchases).
    For example:
         iCloud X on iPhone 1
         iCloud Y on iPhone 2
         iCloud Z on both
Is it possible? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

My husband and I have a very similar setup.  We each have iCloud accounts. We only want 2:
his we have used for "family" email and syncing calendars, contacts, and find my iPhone,
         mine for mail and reminders.
So his iPhone connects to only his account,  but but mine is set up to connect to both, his account for family mail that I need, syncing calendars and contacts and to mine.
This works fine for everything except siri. I don't completely understand how siri works, but if I tell siri on my phone that I am me, my husbands phone is synced and I am marked as me on his as well.  This my mother is labled as his on his phone. Not sure how to fix?
    Help!
