Multiple images of the same file on one page

How do I create multiple images of the same file on one page? For example, I've got an image that I could fit 6 of on one page, and would like to print it that way instead of printing it on 6 individual pieces of paper.

Are you attempting to do this in Adobe Workspaces? Or are you looking for software that will do it?
If the former, you could insert the image into a Buzzword document six times. Not exactly elegant, but it might do the trick.

The general process is to select the photo and print, select the printer, paper size and print size and click customize and under settings selec multiples copies of a photo (the preview will reflect this choice) and click print to print, make any printer specific selections and click print to print

no - you simply have to select the option to print mucliples of a photo on a page
select the photo and go to the file menu ==> print - select the printer, paper size and print size and click customize - in the tool bar click on the settings icon (the gear looking thingy) and select "multiple of the same photo per page" and the preview will reflect this option showing a full page of the selected size photos

The short answer is that you'll put the source clip(s) for each inset on a different video track, all stacked up. Then use the Scale and Position effects (under "Motion" on the Effect Controls panel) to reduce their size and place them where you want.
If the content of an inset will involve edited content (where you're cutting among various clips or just trimming out unwanted content from a single clip), then you'll probably find it easier to do all those edits in one sequence, then nest that sequence in the master sequence, where you apply the Scale and Positioning effects. That will save the step of applying the scale and position effects to each edited track item.

does anyone know if it is possible to create multiple links to the same file using iWeb without the program automatically making multiple copies of that file in the published output? It seems that one file is created for each link.

Thanks Alex, but sadly I already tried that. Neither .docx or .xlsx files show up in the content list. They both show as a Chrome HTML document so changing how Firefox addresses those doesn't help since it thinks its the same type of file. I don't think I can manually add files into the "Content Type" left side nav.

Of course, you can combine several deliveries into one shipment. You can set your own selection variant to select deliveries with the same ship-to party.
You cannot combine several deliveries into one delivery. The combination of deliveres is possible only when creating deliveries in VL10*.

Try the following:
1 - put the photo in an album and duplicate it as many times as the number of prints you want on a given page. This is assuming the page is US Letter (borderless).
2 - select all the prints and type Command+P (Print).
3 - in the next window select Paper Size to be US Letter (borderless).
4 - also, at the bottom of the window, select the aspect ratio and a custom size that will allow you to get all of the photos on one page.
This screenshot is for a photo that has a size ratio of 4:3, was duplicated 3 times and then printed with a custom size of 4x3 selected to get four prints on the page. You can experiment the custom size until you get the largest possible size for the 4 photos on the page.

You certainly are not following my work flow - that is the info window in the main iPhoto window
I said (steps numbers for ease of following my work flow)
1 - Simply select the photo and
2 - print,
3 - select the printer,
4 - Select the paper size and
5 - select a print size (keep the image ratio in mind so you do not get unwanted cropping) that will fit the required number of photos on the page with small borders - you have to do the math - and
6 - if the preview does not show multiples of the same photo click customize,
6 a - click settings and
6 b - select multiples of the same photo on a page -
the preview will reflect this selection - and
7 - print
Nothing about getting info for the photo in the iPhoto window

When saving a File OS Is Creating Multiple Folders With The Same File Name

Not sure what I changed but, now when I save a any file (ppt. word, Keynote,Pages e.g.,) to the desktop or any other location the OS will also create multiple file folders with the same file name as the file I'm saving. Inside the folders are what appears to be files locating the saved files. What can I do to fix this problem?

the extension is simply hidden. go to the get info panel for the file and uncheck the option to hide the extension.
Then I surf to another image, and again I save it as "000.jpg" and now it asks me if I want to replace the existing filename, although the existing one is "000" and I try to save as "000.jpg", so I say yes, and then magically the file is saved with the full filename including the extension "000.jpg"
When I did it a couple of times, always saving image as "000.jpg" from various sources, I ended up with two distinct files named "000" and both in the same folder Pictures.

it sounds to me like you saved one file as 000.jpg and the other and 000.jpg.jpg.
check the info panels for the files for full names to verify if this is the case.

Multiple entries in the DAD file but one physical server

Can someone confirm (point me in the right direction for documentation) that we can have multiple DADs on the same physical server. A typical situation is where there are separate LIVE and TEST database installations of APEX but the one apache server. So, how do I get the TEST and LIVE to have different DAD configurations, in particular the location of the images file ie the alais '/i/'.
Our situation is a great deal more complex than my example above, as we could have in excess of 6 different APEX installations on the same physical server with each having to have a different location for the image files etc.

Each dads.conf file can include several, unique, <Location> directives, according to your needs.
As the aliases are being defined outside a specific directive, it seems that you'll need to use different alias to each APEX instance.

Multiple formats of the same file

I'm using LR 1.2 and notice that if I have a JPG and either raw or dng of the same file in a folder LR shows one entry in the grid and "filename.dng+jpg" for the filename. If I have all three (jpg, nef, dng) it will only show the dng+jpg and treats the nef like a duplicate in the catalog if I try to import it. So:
1) Which file is being used if you make LR edits and export?
2) If you delete this entry from the catalog and disk - do you loose both files?
3) Is there a setting to show the actual individual files rather than combine them like this?
It's confusing the heck out of me.

Make sure you have "treat jpeg files next to raw files as separate photos" preference checked if you like to see the jpeg as:
1) Lightroom uses the jpeg ONLY for the very first preview. After that, everything is done using the raw file. The jpeg is basically ignored completely as the RAW is considered the original. You really only need the nef or dng file.
2) Yes
3) Yes, you have to import using the preference noted above. In this case you'll get multiple entries for the same picture but with different original files.
Lastly, for Lightroom there is no real difference between the nef and the dng as the data in it is the same. If both are present it will probably use just the dng but I have never tried it. Having multiple files with the same filename but different extension is generally a recipe for disaster not just in Lightroom.

I just brought keynote after searching online about adding multiple images to a presentation all in one go - I couldn't do this on the powerpoint version I was using but there were multiple references on google to being able to do this on keynote. Do you mean like dragging in multiple images and having one image go on each slide? If so, you just drag the images into the Slide List on the left instead of onto the slide. From this prior post.

Itunes shows multiple listings for the same files (songs), help ???

dunno why, but Itunes is showing mulitple listing for my file (songs), is there a way to clean this up instead of going through the list one by one to get rid of the extra listing...?? thank you in advance...

It looks like you have duplicate entries in the library (two entries pointing to the same song file), but you could also have duplicate files.
Add the 'Date Added' column to the library (View Options, Command-J) and sort on 'Date Added'.
If many songs show the same recent 'Date Added' and you didn't actually add them that day, those ones obviously are the duplicates.
Compare a few of those entries with their duplicate ones.
Do they point to the same file? If so, delete the last added ones, but choose 'Keep Files'.
If they point to different files, delete the last added ones and choose 'Move to Trash'
If the above does not help, you might find a useful script at www.dougscripts.com/itunes
Search for "duplicate" to find the appropriate scripts.
You will still have to remove the entries manually though.
