Multiple instances of Live Office Word document

I have a live office word document that has several Webi reports in it all tied to one field. If you refresh, it will ask you for a value, so it only runs one value at a time. Is there any way to get a live office document to run a series of instances with a different value per instance?

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by BO SDK. Is that Business Objects Software Development kit? I'm not really familiar with that. I had to ask someone else what it meant. Thanks.

What do you mean by "local" printer? One attached to the server running Central? In my experience that isn't usually done because most of today's printers can be connected directly to the network and addressed via IP #. Actually, it doesn't make any difference what you mean.
Once the printer is defined in the JMD you can use the
b -zPrinterName
parameter to specify the printer. If you do it on the ^job line and use the
b @OtherJobTokens.
parameter in the task definition you only need a single "jfmerge" task to be able to send print to any defined printer. If you put it directly on the task definition that task would always send print to the defined printer and you would need multiple "jfmerge" tasks for multiple printers.
If the form is designed with multiple presentation targets you should also include the
b -aspDriverName
parameter on the ^job statement (for a single task handling multiple printers) or within the "jfmerge" task definition, or - better yet - in the printer definition.

You can use Microsoft Word's inbuilt feature of converting the doc to pdf by simply selecting Save As> 'pdf doc format' from the drop down.

Adobe Reader does not have the capability of converting docs to pdf or vice versa. It can only be used to read pdf files.

There are a number of apps that are compatible with Office documents. Apple makes iOS versions of their own iWork apps (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) that are available free if you purchase a new iOS device and that can be purchased separately for older devices. There are also 3rd party combined suites that cost less than the separate Apple apps. Ones often recommended include Documents 2 Go, Quickoffice and Office2 HD.
If you can accept needing a network connection whenever you want to use the apps and have an Office 365 subscription, Microsoft has just released their Office Mobile app, though it has significant limitations. Or a server-based solution such as CloudOn might be an option for you.

I know how to take a snapshot of one PDF page at a time and copy to a word document; however, I do not know how to copy multiple PDF pages at once. Is it even possible? I would love to know if anyone has any information pertaining to my question!

If it messed up the formatting, you will not be able to do more with Acrobat. Some third party products supposedly do pretty well, but that conversion may cost you as much as Acrobat.

Multiple Portal Authentication when closing Word document

Hi all,
We are on EP6 SP2 Patch4 HF7 and CM HF6. When closing a MS Word document accessed from the KM Repository multiple Portal authentication popups appear. This only happens to Word documents. Other documents like Excel, Powerpoint, pdf etc. close without any popups.
The problem only happens when going through the IISProxy filter.
Does anybody have any ideas ?

Multiple Instances of the Same Excel Document in 'Alt-Tab' List

So I am having a very weird problem, and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I was recently given a new laptop at work with Windows 7 and Office 2010. It has worked pretty well so far, but recently I have been noticing something very strange. While
this problem is quite small, due to how I use windows and my habits of alt-tabbing between multiple documents throughout the day, it is causing a serious problem.
This typically only happens when I have multiple excel documents open, and am tabbing between them or other documents or windows. For example, I have ClientList.xlsx open and need to cut and paste a cell from it to FinalReview.xlsx. I have 'ClientList' open
and just clicked Control+C to copy a cell. I click on 'Alt-tab' and while the icon in the alt tab list appears to change, I am taken immediately back to the same document. What is happening is that there are actually two separate copies of 'ClientList'
in my alt tab list. If I press and hold 'Alt' and then hit 'tab' twice, I can pull up the other excel file, 'FinalReview'.
At any point in time, I can click on the 'Alt' button to see the list and see three Excel icons. There will be one large excel icon with the name 'Microsoft Excel - ClientList.xlsx', and then right next to it will be two smaller looking excel icons with
the names 'ClientList.xlsx' and 'FinalReview.xlsx' respectively.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? I have spend hours searching for a resolution on the internet, as well as calling my work's tech support line and have not found anything remotely close to this as even being an issue.

First, I would like to verify whether this issue only occurred with Excel? Have you checked the Excel settings? You can perform a
system restore to see how it works.
In addition, I suggest you try the following:
1. Test the issue in Clean Boot and
Safe Mode
2. Create a new user to test if this issue still exists.

Spell Check and changing multiple instances of the same word

Hi, sorry if this has been brought up before.. I can't seem to find any reference, so here's my dilemma:
My main writing language in Pages is Spanish and when it comes time for me to run the spell check, I usually have to change the same word a lot, because of missing accents and such. (I'd rather concentrate on writing and not worry about whether it has the right accent). Does Pages have any way to automatically detect when a word has been corrected, and pass the correction to any other instance of that word? I have tried using Find and Replace, but its not perfect, changing perfectly spelled words to include any corrections because the words, I think, appear similar. Is there a trick within Pages to do this? Does anyone know if the new version of Pages includes such a feature? Apple's iWork website and presentations fail to mention it...
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Multiple electronic signatures in a WORD document

Thanks William. I got this far last week and I am hitting the same wall. After I sign it "Marks As Final" and makes it a read only. Then the next person opens it and it says it will remove the signature if you edit this file. How do you stop it from doing
that and get to pass on. Also, right before I signed I got an error. I've enclosed both screen shots of what I am talking about.

Inserting Multiple Page PDF in Word Document

I've been searching for an answer to what I thing ought to be a rather simple question and I can find nothing. I have a couple of users who have attempted to insert a multiple page PDF into a Word document and found that only the first page of the PDF
shows up in their document. Is there any method to insert multiple page PDFs into Word as multiple pages without splitting the PDF into individual single page files and inserting individually?

A quick and dirty way to do this is to open the pdf document in question with word separately. You get the following warning message.
I can then select all and copy/paste in to my word document.
The few pdfs I tried this with pretty much turned in to all images when I did this, but it worked my purposes.
I did end up having to resize one that didn't seem to want to fit when I pasted it in. There may be a method to select an image and automatically fit it within the margins of the page it is on that would help that.
The file size on my resulting word document seemed to grow quite a bit as well. Again, not really an issue in my case though.

Adobe Acrobat Standard8.1/MS Office Word compatibility issues

I have a new lap top with Windows XP, MS Office 2007, and Acrobat Standard 8.1. I am trying to convert a file to pdf. The MS Office Word document uses the Table of Contents, Table of Figures, and Bibliography/citations features, among others. In the Acrobat ribbon (Acrobat PDFMaker)/Preferences, I have the "Convert Word Headings to Bookmarks," the "Convert cross-references and table of contents," and "Convert footnote and end note links" marked. On the Settings tab, everything except "Create PDF/A-1a:2005 compliant file" and "Attach source file to Adobe PDF" are marked. Whew!
When I then use the "Create PDF" option in Word, my files starts to convert and then just stops--no message, nothing. If I try to convert the file from inside Adobe Acrobat using "Create PDF/From File...", I get the following message: "An unexpected error occurred. PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF."
My IS&T department contacted Adobe and was told that Acrobat Standard 8 does not support the MS Office Word features I noted above (TOC, TOF, Bib). Previously I used Standard 2003(?) and TOC worked there.
I have scanned the ENTIRE forum and do not see that anyone has had this issue before. What am I doing wrong? And/or any suggestions?

This has been going on for a year now with Acrobat 8 and all of its updates. The bottom line is that they are still not truly compatible with Office 2007, esp. if you are running XP. About 75% of the functions in Acrobat still don't work- for instance, it absolutely will not let you create a multi-document pdf.
I have spend hours over the last year with the highest level tech guys at Acrobat and the bottom line is that the two peices of software don't work well together because Acrobat now views MS as a competitor and vice versa. They didn't share code information with one another on Vista-Office 2007-Acrobat 8, so they simply don't function well.

if you want to uplaod .doc into any particular transaction for particular ouccurence(say PO number) , then it depends on the options provided with in that transaction(ME21N for this Ex.)
otherwise if you want to store some documents in general then you can store it on Application server.

Mac OS X changes windows share's links in word document

My client is having a problem with MacBook Air and samba files that are hyperlinked to MS Office Word document.
The problem is that if the client opens the document in Mac Office Word and the document has hyperlinks in it made in Windows then Mac Office changes the links and adds Volumes to the link. So once the client saves it and the file is opened in Windows office again the links do not work for anyone.
I tried to use the program called WinShortCutter but it did not work in my MacBook Pro or my clients Air.
Seems like the Mac Office does not support plugins.
The links are copied from server. One example: \\server\folder\folder2\file.xls
Mac Office changes those links to \\server\folder\volumes\folder2\file.xls
So my question: Is there a way I could change Mac Office so it does not add volumes in the hyperlinks.

I'm sorry I am not able to help with your questions about sharing from your Mac to the server but wanted to suggest that you post back the exact Mac OS version you are using. Your specs below your post suggest 10.0.x which was barely a beta version of Mac OS X. This will surely help those who are seeing your topic and trying to help.
To find the version you can simply click on the blue Apple in your top menu bar and select About This Mac.

I just talked to a SAP representative and he informed me that you cannot load a Excel spreadsheet using Live Office from the BO Enterprise while in Xcelsius. Basically that button in Xcellsius should have been grayed out. It is mentioned in the Xcelisus 2008 Release Notes.

DMS - Automaticaly Fill Word document customer properties

How can we fill programaticaly some customer properties of a MS Office Word Document (2007)?
After read some others theads, we think that we can use the method DOCUMENT_MAIN01~AFTER_READ_DATA (BADI) and call BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2, but we don't know how fill the data structures to make the call.
Can someone send us some code to do this?
Previously our customer use DOCUMENT_OFFINTEGR01 BADI but they have updated Easy DMS to 7.0.6.0: (Unicode) and now doesn't work.

We didn't find one solution (yet) - Enable automatic exchange of properties from Microsoft Office applications to SAP classification data in both directions. We have other problems with easy DMS 7.1.2.0 (like error Popups without message)and still continue to search.
