Multiple Instances of PeopleBooks on same url

Hi
I am on PTools 8.50 and FSCM 9.1
Windows 2008 64bit, SQL Server 2008
Can you please advise the steps to perform to install both PeopleTools PeopleBooks and FSCM PeopleBooks at the same url?
The steps in Note 834786.1 didnt work for me
Also please note that installing the applications peoplebooks first and then tools also didnt work
Thanks
Cyril

If you want to host the peoplebooks at the same URL as the application, you'll need to install the Peoplebooks in the PSOL folder of the webserver for the application. What you basically do is firstly stop the webserver which is running your application. Then install the Application Peoplebooks and finally the PeopleTools peoplebooks. During the installation it will ask where your PS_HOME is located (in this case the location of the PeopleSoft folder) and where the PSOL folder is located. For example D:\APPS\PT850\HR91DEMO\webserv\peoplesoft\applications\peoplesoft\PSOL.war.
In steps:
- Install application peoplebooks (FSCM9.1) in the PS_HOME where your application is installed (do not generate a search collection when it asks you)
- Install PeopleTools PeopleBooks (PT8.50) in the same PS_HOME, if it asks to overwrite please select YES TO ALL. When it's done it'll ask you to create a search collection, select yes.
There is no need to install another webserver since you're hosting it on the same webserver as your application. When you're done installing just start up your webserver again and the PeopleBooks should be available at http://{host_name}:{port_nr}/PSOL/htmldoc/index.htm
To display the Help link on each PeopleSoft page you'll have to modify your webprofile so the Help URL reflects the location of your PeopleBooks. The URL should be like this: http://{host_name}:{port_nr}/PSOL/htmldoc/f1search.htm?ContextID=%CONTEXT_ID%&LangCD=%LANG_CD%
When that's done just bounce the webserver and you should have a Help link on each page.

  • Multiple instances of OBIEE11g in same server

    Hi Experts,
    I need some advice on Creating Multiple instances of OBIEE11g in same server.
    the following are the details
    i have got windows server R2, installed weblogic 10.3.6 with 64bit JDK, then oBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 software only install and configuration
    till here everything is up and running without any issue.
    now i want to set up second instance , need some clarifications on points mentioned below:-
    1. same home directory can be used (c:\Middleware in my case) for second instance.
    2. to start second time software only install shall i mention same c:\Middleware\Oracle_BI1 or shall i mention c:\Middleware\Oracle_B2
    3. do i need to mention Bifoundation_domain and weblogic (userid, portno) separately
    Awaiting your reply.
    Cheers,
    Ankit

    Hi,
    Once completed instance1 installation then try to another installance2 with custom port option.
    *1. same home directory can be used (c:\Middleware in my case) for second instance.*
    Yes
    *2. to start second time software only install shall i mention same c:\Middleware\Oracle_BI1 or shall i mention c:\Middleware\Oracle_B2*
    Ensure that you install each instance into a separate Middleware home on that computer.
    *3. do i need to mention Bifoundation_domain and weblogic (userid, portno) separately ?*
    No need,1st install WebLogic Server first and then perform a Software Only Install then try to do the Configuration Assistant multiple times (or once for each instance) to configure each instance in the same, or shared, Middleware home.

  • Running multiple instances of program at same time problems

    I have a c++ program that uses BerkeleyDB 4.8.26 with transactions. Program works well, and I can run multiple instances of program and they cooperate on database very well. Problem arises when I run a small test program that runs 10 instances of the same program at same time.
    Test program opens database with transactions, it does some database reads and writes and quits. This test is run in 10 instances of the same program at the same time. Some instances run and finish well, other instances end up with some of these errors:
    unable to allocate memory for the lock table
    PANIC: Cannot allocate memory
    Error opening environment: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
    another with:
    db_files/__db.001: No such file or directory
    db_files: No such file or directory
    Error opening environment: Invalid argument
    others with this one:
    Log file corrupt at LSN: [1][84474]
    fileops: close db_files/log.0000000001
    PANIC: Invalid argument
    unable to join the environment
    db_files: No such file or directory
    Error opening environment: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
    I don't understand reason of this error, as I thought (and read) that BerkeleyDB should be able to handle multiple instances accessing database and is thread-safe.
    I tried to run the test on both NFS and local disk drive with same results.
    Is there anyone with ide what could be causing this problem ? My platform is x86_64 GNU/Linux 2.6.18-164.el5

    If there is someone who would like to look at this problem I'd like to show you program log files with verbose output turned on. There are 11 log files in the archive: http://bin.mypage.sk/FILES/log.rar
    Log files that end up with lines like this one below mean that program finished running ok:

  • How to create multiple instances of jboss on same server ?

    Hi Friends,
    I want to create two servers ( two instances of same server ) running on defferent ports , except default server in jboss.
    I do not have any idea, will you please help me?
    My server is jboss-4.0.0
    e.g. "web" or "business" servers in
    /jboss/server/web and
    /jboss/server/business

    Hi Kcounsell,
    Thank for your suggestion.
    I have put bindingservice-plugin.jar in each server's lib directory.
    But still i am getting the exception, because it is not getting the path of "bindings.xml" . I have given the hard coded path here.
    Please look into the exception bellow.
    How should i mention the path?
    OR any other mistake is there?
    Regards,
    Prashant.

  • Multiple instances of JDeveloper on Same Machine (JDev 11.1.2.3 on Windows)

    Hello:
    I would like to setup two completely seperate instances of JDeveloper. So I installed JDev#1 in a seperate directory than JDev#2. Each seems to work ok.
    I would like to keep these two JDev installs completely seperate. JDev#1 I plan to modify by extending the base classes, use UTF-8, etc...
    JDev#2, I want to keep it as it was installed. No changes from install.
    When I changed JDev#1 to use UTF-8, it also changed JDev#2 to use UTF-8.
    How can I completely seperate these two different JDev installs, so a change in one does not effect the other?
    Thanks for the help...

    If the two JDev's are of the same version then they'll be sharing the system directory by default.
    To avoid this you'll need to set a different user home for each one when you invoke it.
    See the install guide:

  • Running multiple instances of OIM on same machine

    I have two instances running on same machine. I made the following changes in JBoss to achieve it:
    * deploy/jboss-web.deployer/server.xml
    o change 8080 to 18080
    o change 8443 to 18443

  • Multiple Instances of OIM on same Oracle Application Server

    I want to install two instance of OIM on the same machine.
    I want to create two oc4j instances on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (Patch 4) and install two separate instances of OIM 9.1 on top of it. Database is on a different machine.
    Has somebody done that before?? Is it possible??
    Thanks

    If you use two different XELLERATE_HOME , and two different ORACLE_HOME for oas it is possible, always you must use different rmi, http, https port for both oas installations.

  • I want to launch multiple instances of JVM

    hi guys,
    When I go to a games room, the applet starts up and then a JVM is launched and it is visible in taskbar. If I click on another game room, the virtual machine launches another applet and the first one is destroyed, but thats no good to me, cos I want to have both applets running at the same time. I can achieve this by running one room from IE and another from Firefox, but is there a way to launch all from IE only, cos if I run both Firefox and IE it starts screwing up with my machine. So basically, I want to be able to run many instances of JVM.
    Thanks.

    That's odd, because one instance of the JVM should be
    able to handle multiple instances even of the same
    applet. Are you opening them in separate windows?no, in the same browser window...what happens is that when you click on a room, the previous window in whivh the applet was running is destrpyed and a new one is created

  • How do I prevent a user from opening multiple instances on the same computer?

    On the site oldnavyweekly.com there is a .swf that prevents users from opening multiple instances of the site at the same time on the same computer. If you open the site, and try to open it a second time in another window, it won't load. You can't open the site again until the first window is closed. How did they implement this?
    From my analysis it is NOT:
    1. Cookies - The block still takes place if you try opening it in IE and also try opening it in Firefox simultaneously.
    2. Flash Cookies - The block still takes place if I disable flash cookies.
    3. IP Based Block - You are not blocked if you open the site on two separate computers with the same outbound IP address. From my analysis, their server does not assist in the block at all.
    It seems as if their .swf is creating some kind of global system-wide object that can be detected in other instances of the application on the same machine. How did they implement this?
    Thanks!

    you're welcome.
    actually, unless you take an extra step, the first opened swf will close.  if you want the 2nd to close, the initial receiving lc will send a message to sender that causes the sender to close.

  • Multiple instance of same mac on network

    Hello,
    Running OS X Yosemite, I've noticed multiple instances of the same mac appearing on my home network.  Has anyone else encountered this and know of a way to fix it?  Currently, I have to try more than one instance before I find the "correct" icon to connect.

    10.10.1, when I posted. Last night I installed 10.10.2.  It got hung up on the "Restarting..." (w/App Store logo) screen for over 2 hrs, so I let it run overnight.  It was still stuck in the morning so I just shut it down.  After restarting, everything looks fine (cautiously optimistic)!  There is only ONE instance on the network!!   I read some tips in other forums and the simplest one I used, which wouldn't do more harm than good, was to turn off my air printer during the reboot.  I am good for now and will repost if the problem returns. William Lloyd how long since you updated have you been multiple-instance-free?

  • How can I open multiple instances of the same version of FF?

    I understand that if I have multiple profiles, I can run different versions of FF side-by-side (like 3.6 and 4).
    However, what I'm interested in is how I can launch multiple instances of the same version of FF (4, for instance) using the same profile. In other words, I want to be able to double-click the desktop icon for FF, and open a new instance, and keep doing that as many times as I want. I don't want to have a different icon and profile for each instance (too much overhead to keep a dozen+ profiles in sync).
    I can always launch one FF window instance, and then keep clicking ctrl+N to launch new instances from inside it, which they all share the same profile (as I want). So, basically, I want to be able to do that from my desktop icon, rather than by having to do it with the keyboard ctrl+N sequence.

    But I don't understand why whatever Firefox does when you click ctrl+N can't also be done (with some sort of command-line switch) from a desktop icon?
    In other words, I clearly can create many FF instances (even if they are the same FF.exe process) by doing ctrl+n a bunch of times. Why then can't this behavior be done from a desktop icon with some parameters?
    As far as I know, FF is the only browser that doesn't directly allow multiple browser instances from desktop icons. IE, Chrome, Safari, Opera, etc... all let me launch a new instance (even if they are all single process and the instances are shared within the process).

  • How to create multiple instances within same AS

    Ramesh,
    I have a unique problem. I might have to create B2B instances for 4 owners. As in BPEL, I can have separate domains for the 4 clients in the same instance; what is the equivalent in B2B?
    I have a limited number of CPUs and need to install the instances on the same box and hence trying to be creative yet secure here.
    Could you please provide some pointers.
    Thanks
    Shamik

    Hello Shamik,
    Please elaborate your use case. Is this just caters to user management or to really have different domain like bpel for four different users. Please see, b2b do not have the notion of BPEL domain, you might have to install multiple instances of B2B pointing to the same MR.

  • Cant open external links and multiple instances of the same profile.

    I have multiple firefox profiles.
    I constantly have two profiles running at the same time.
    I use microsoft outlook and see an external link, I click it wishing firefox to open it in the default or new browser. It does not and says "FIrefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."
    Firefox is running fine.
    How can I open external links with a profile based setup?
    Also, how can I open multiple instances of the same profile? I find that if I click and drag a tab to another monitor, it opens a new "instance" or browser window.

    You say
    ''I have multiple firefox profiles. <br />
    I constantly have two profiles running at the same time. ''
    So you will have discovered ''-no-remote'' Note NOT to use that on the default browser; profile, only on secondary profiles.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use#Common_causes
    You will NOT be able to open multiple instances of the same profile, clone the profile if necessary.
    If you are trying to run multiple Webmail accounts in one profile then you may well find the webmail is identifying and setting the user account that is opened. Use a Private Browsing window to get round that and open a second account.

  • Multiple instances of the same bean class in session?

    Im trying to think of a way to have multiple instances of the same bean class in session scope using JSF. For example, lets say that I have two <h:dataTable>s on the same page. They both use the backing bean called genericBean. Now, the content for genericBean will be different for each <h:dataTable>. In fact, the data source that backs genericBean is not known until runtime. It could be a database, web service, etc.
    What I would like is for when JSF needs access genericBean instead of looking for the value with key genericBean in the session map it looks for genericBean_[some runtime ID]. I could specify this id in EL on a custom component, as a request parameter or whatever.
    I think that I need the bean to be in session scope because the tables are complex and I want them to be editable.
    I have some ideas about how I can do this but I was wondering if someone has already solved this problem or if there is a standard way to do this using tools like Shale, etc.
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Well, I came up with an interesting solution to this so I thought that I would post it here.
    I have a page that looks like this.
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>My Page</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <f:view>
    <f:subview id="component1">
    <jsp:include page="component.jsp">
    <jsp:param name="id" value="a" />
    </jsp:include>
    </f:subview>
    <hr>
    <f:subview id="component2">
    <jsp:include page="component.jsp">
    <jsp:param name="id" value="b" />
    </jsp:include>
    </f:subview>
    </f:view>
    </body>
    </html>
    And component.jsp looke like this.
    <f:verbatim>
    <p>
    <h1>Component
    </f:verbatim>
    <h:outputText value=" #{param.id}" />
    <f:verbatim>
    </h1>
    </p>
    </f:verbatim>
    <h:form>
    <h:outputText value="#{component.id}" />
    <h:outputText value="#{component.value}" />
    <h:commandButton value="increment" action="#{component.increment}" />
    <h:commandButton value="decrement" action="#{component.decrement}" />
    <f:verbatim>
    <input type="hidden" name="id"
    value="</f:verbatim><h:outputText value="#{param.id}"/><f:verbatim>" />
    </f:verbatim>
    </h:form>
    The idea is that I want component.jsp to be initialized differently based on the id param. The component managed bean is configured to be in session scope but I want the component instance for id a and id b to be different instances in session scope. Therefore, I added a custom variable resolver to handle this.
    public Object resolveVariable(FacesContext context, String name) {
    // This id will be different for the different subviews.
    HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) context.getExternalContext() .getRequest();
    String id = request.getParameter("id");
    // If there is an id in the request then check if this is a bean that can have multiple
    // instances in session scope.
    if ((id != null) && (id.length() > 0)) {
    ExternalContext ec = context.getExternalContext();
    // Build the new name for the key of this bean
    String newName = name + "_" + id;
    Object value = null;
    // See if the bean instance already esists.
    if ((null == (value = ec.getRequestMap().get(newName))) &&
    (null == (value = ec.getSessionMap().get(newName))) &&
    (null == (value = ec.getApplicationMap().get(newName)))) {
         // We could not find the bean instance in scope so create the bean
         // using the standard variable resolver.
    value = original.resolveVariable(context, name);
    // Now check if the bean implements that page component interface. If it is
    // a page component then we want to rename the key to access this bean so
    // that the instance is only used when the id is provided in the request.
    // For example, if there are two components (a and b) we will have in session scope
    // component_a and component_b. The will each point to a unique instance of the
    // Component bean class.
    if (value instanceof PageComponent) {
    // Try to get the value again
    if (null != (value = ec.getRequestMap().get(name))) {
         // Initialize the bean using the id
    ((PageComponent) value).initInstance(id);
    ec.getRequestMap().remove(name);
    ec.getRequestMap().put(newName, value);
    } else if (null != (value = ec.getSessionMap().get(name))) {
    ((PageComponent) value).initInstance(id);
    ec.getSessionMap().remove(name);
    ec.getSessionMap().put(newName, value);
    } else if (null != (value = ec.getApplicationMap().get(name))) {
    ((PageComponent) value).initInstance(id);
    ec.getApplicationMap().remove(name);
    ec.getApplicationMap().put(newName, value);
    return value;
    return original.resolveVariable(context, name);
    }
