Multiple iphones / itunes accounts on same computer

We now have 2 iphones and want to administer on same PC.  How do I set up 2 iTune accounts on same PC?

If you're are using the same AppleID, then it's easiest to sync them from the same user account.  iTunes will recognize them as two devices and allow you to set each up the way you want to.
If you are using to different AppleIDs, then it's best to sync each to a different user account, with the iTunes logged into the correct AppleID on that account.
Note, you will only be able to run Match or redownload purchases for one AppleID per computer.

I'm going to give my old iPad to my granddaughter, I want to create an account for her, but I want to do it on my computer so there are no worries about who is spending credits for that account. Don't know how this will work, or if its possible to two iTunes libraries.
    Okay.
She's going to use your computer to sync with iTunes.
Create an new computer login on your computer for her. This will keep her stuff separate and she won't be able to mess with any of your info.
    Log into her computer account.
    Launch iTunes.
Create a new iTunes account for her. See this -> http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2731
You can enter a credit card to create the account then delete the CC info. Or you can use an iTunes gift card and she can fund the account with gift cards instead of using a CC to make purchases. This is an easy way to control spending.
on the iPad, go to Settings > iMessage > Off.
Then Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content & settings.
Once it finishes, plug in the iPad, select it in iTunes and this will set it up as a new device. Enter all your granddaughter's info.
When she wants to sync her iPad or use iTunes, she needs to log into your computer with her account.
Then the iTunes library she uses will be only hers.

  • Multiple itunes accounts on same computer

I have an itunes account that is already set up for my ipod and the music that I like and it works fine. No real problems yet!
I just bought my husband his own ipod and he would like his own totally seperate account on itunes. I thought this would be pretty simple and just logged on to the computer under his account and tried to download itunes under his email address and yet after it says itunes installation is complete, when I open up itunes, MY account pops up!
How in the world do I do this so when itunes is opened up it will be under his own account?
Hope this makes sense! I am pretty new to all of this!
    Thank you!

In windows goto Control panel>User accounts>Change the way users log on and off and UNCHECK "Fast user switching"
After that you can overlook how to share one PC with multiple ipods here. Theres 2 methods for this but since you and the hubby already have 2 user accounts, you'll be doing method 1

  • More than one itunes account on same computer

Can I download iTunes more than once on the same computer? My daughter and I both have iTunes accounts, but when her playlist is on our computer.  I want to create my own playlist, etc. without having to uncheck all of her music, podcasts, etc.  Can this be done?

You don;t have to have another itunes to make a playlist, not do you have to uncheck anything.
    Just make a playlist.

  • Open another itunes account on same computer

First i set up another user account on the same mac and then have my own separate itunes.  Then after transfering my song library to the new account, will the songs that i purchase from that point on be automatically placed in both libraries on different computers?

    No.
Different computers? You only copied the files to a different login acount on the same computer.
You need to copy the files to the other computer.

  • Managing 2 iphone/iTunes accounts on one computer

Me an my wife both have iPhones. Each one is currently managed on separate profiles on our Macbook. This was fine to begin with, but now it's killing memory on the computer by having many of the same exact songs taking up memory twice (what would be a 7GB library is now a 14GB one).
Is there a way to have our iPhones sync on one side of the Mac (while maintaining individual account info for the iTunes store) as to avoid keeping double music files?

    Try this...
    Quit iTunes.
Drag your entire iTunes folder from /Username/Music to /Users/Shared.
    Log out.
Log in on your Wife's account.
Click on the iTunes icon to start it, then immediately press an hold the Option key.
iTunes will ask to Create new library or Choose existing library. Select Choose existing library.
Select the iTunes library file in the iTunes folder in /Users/Shared.
iTunes will open and all the music in your account will be there.
Now, go to iTunes prefs -> Advanced -> Importing.
Make sure Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library is ticked.
If your wife currently has ALL the same music as you, do not do this step. It will simply add all the music again and you will have duplicates of everything. If she has some different than you, you will have to select those artists/songs specifically.
Go to File -> Add to library and select the iTunes music folder (or only the individual artists/albums/songs that you do not have) in /Wife's username/Music/iTunes. This will add all the music in her account.
    When done, quit iTunes.
Go to /Wife's username/Music and drag the iTunes folder to the trash. Do NOT empty the trash yet.
Restart iTunes normally (don't hold Option).
    Everything should be there.
Quit iTunes and log out of her account.
Log into your account, start iTunes normally and all music should bet there.
Quit iTunes and go back into her account and make sure iTunes works okay. If it does, empty the trash.

  • Synching 2 3Gs iPhones to one iTunes account on one computer

I have a few questions regarding synching two 3Gs iPhones with one iTunes account on one computer.
I had synched both phones (mine and my wifes) to our desktop computer but saw that apps were being placed on both of our phones and contacts were being added to both and duplicated.
    1. If I try to synch my wifes iPhone to a her laptop with a new itunes account and it asks about erasing the data, will it get rid of the photos and contacts? I have looked this issue up and no one really seems to know.
    2. If I try to synch both iPhones to the desktop with the original itunes how do I avoid the issues of transposing apps, contacts being added to both? Several answers out on the Net say to make two seperate accounts. Does that mean two seperate "iTunes" accounts? Or two seperate profiles on the desktop computer.
The main reason I need to do this is because my wifes iPhone is about two or three firmware updates behind. I would like to update her firmware and back up all of her apps and contacts. I am backing up her photos to Shutterfly just in case, because if something happened to those I might not be around to see iPhone 5. hahaha j/k
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the discussions,
    1. If you manually backup your wife's phone before you sync for the first time to the laptop, you can save all data and settings of the phone and restore from that backup again after the initial sync.
    Here's how to backup manually:
Set up the same iTunes account on the laptop, disable autosync in iTunes/Settings/Devices.
Connect the phone, right click on it in the device list and choose "backup" iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, to copy apps and purchased media to the new library.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.
About backups and what's saved: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
How to back up and restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
How to download apps for free again: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
    2. If you're syncing both phones on one computer, either create a second user account on your computer, log in and do the same manual backup process as described above, or, take the time to set up each phone individually, including the settings for calendars and contacts, which apps to sync, etc.
iTunes will remember the settings for each phone and you'll only have to do this once.
You can only use apps on different devices if you're using the same account you did at the time you bought them.
